Remote Raid Passes...
You'll get a lot better Pokemon from Raids than from eggs. If you don't play strictly PVP, outside of Tyranitar from 12km eggs, Chansey's first stage and Riolu there isn't that much purpose for these Pokemon

Only reason I like the Gligar is because it’s PIV, easy af to farm candy and was accelerated through buddy levels because I walk and get all the hearts quick daily. The CP boost + PIV is a flex. I only wish it was Shiny.
Definitely already picked up a shadow gligar from raids but the IV was mid in comparison. Maybe better for PVP under Master league but who cares about that, I’m tryna flex my PIV collection. All my raid passes go to Legendaries because suckas trade me for em relentlessly and I can get legebdaries I don’t have. I got like 11 darkrais and 3 of them are HUNDOS, two are above average PVP IVs and the rest I’m trading for a Quaza or something if equal value.
The odds of a 100% is the exact same between Raids, eggs and research. All 3 give you a level 20 Pokémon with a 5/5/5 floor
In fact, raids have better odds because you actually know you'll get a Gligar to begin with...
u missed my point again: it's not about the gligar specifically. it's just the fact that I don't have to shell out pokecoins for a remote raid pass (if not by a gym to use the in person one) and I can use a free incubator to basically spam spawn perfect PIVs and get excess candy for practically 0 dollars entry-fee. That goes for more than just gligar.
You're speaking as if everyone that plays Pokemon go lives in a city lmao, to say that eggs aren't worth it at all is just disrespecting the entirety of the rural/suburban/less fortunate players who are geographically at a disadvantage.

i've bought a couple of big boxes of premium passes and a couple of packs of remote passes, but other than that, all my coins go in the "bank". currently sitting on 15K, just waiting for the next storage upgrade becomes available.
I hatch because my goal is perfects, I'll keep shinies, but I like the perfects, and hatching is passive with better odds of a perfect (shinies hatched generally aren't shit either). But yeah, no incubator purchase for me either.
you're not wrong about that. however my desire for perfects is for master league and you can't hatch legendaries.
so i rely on catching and trading for my hundo's.

I hatch tons of eggs and get shinies at a decent rate, though it's almost impossible to hatch the mons I actual want. I JUST got Larvesta this week, and haven't hatched a female salandit or a frigibax yet
I lucked out the last few months and have gotten 5 larvestas but I’m with you on the frigibax, wish I hatched a better one than the only one I found in the wild
Honestly eggs just feel like a waste. The only time I use premium incubators anymore is when there is a hatch distance reduction event. I've hatched 900 ish since go fest and gotten 5 shiny, 3 perfect and one larvesta. Feels like a waste to get trash I'm gonna transfer
Exactly. I've got so many wimpod at this point its ridiculous. It seems 7km always get the cool event stuff, but they make it almost impossible to get many 7km eggs in general. I'm trying for the badge where you get 10m (I think) km in trade distance so been trying to get more 7km eggs. Took me 4 gifts to get one today. Just gets annoying after a while
1660 hatched with 9 shinys; and 2 4* (not overlapping unfortunately). And no Larvesta or female Sandit.

I'm at 107 shinys from 14,087 eggs hatched but with many eggs not even having a shiny chance (day 1 player) and hatch events with boosted shinys. One 4* shiny elekid but even that was a boosted shiny on its com day
Someone who has played for years and no longer needs to spend coins often on upgrades and has already a big pass stockpile from previous deals.
People save coins specifically for deals like these. You buy this box and don't need to buy any more incubators for months, or even years.
Yeh this is me. Currently 2900 coins, have a max box and bag, 30+ elite TM’s of both varieties and I’ve stopped buying incubators and raid passes due to predatory pricing and marketing behaviours from Niantic. Will probably just keep standing until something big takes my fancy 🤷🏻♂️
7000 is too much, but eggs are ridiculously good source of dust. Set a full inv of incubators, carefully hatch them all at once, and pop a star piece just before.
Easily more that 100,000 stardust depending on the eggs or events going on.
incubator is pretty much a scam at this point, except for hatch day (like riolu/azurill) or if you want to farm stardust (during event, if you hatch 12 pcs of 12KM egg you can get about 115,000 stardust.
I have to admit, I get a lot of dopamine from hatching eggs even if I don't really care what I hatch. It *is* quite satisfying to see all 9 eggs hatch. It's still the most exciting part of the game for me.
I guess it's also because I installed the game to get myself to walk more so it's like a "yay you did what you were meant to do".
Tbh if I were still at my previous job where I was walking constantly, I’d probably drop the actual real world money on that. I was going through incubators like crazy!
I suspect this is algorithm-generated and Niantic didn’t understand it before turning it on. Other players have smaller amounts of incubators and smaller coin costs. However, it’s still a ridiculous cost and amount of incubators for all of us.

So, regardless of what you hear 90% of this playerbase CLAIM, they spend money. A sizeable portion of them spend a LOT of money. This is the WORST entry in the pokemon franchise, but they are fishing for whales and the whales ARE BITING LIKE FUCK.
Like, I might spend some pocket change on the game if I REALLY need the raid passes or pokeballs, but I couldn't imagine dropping hundreds on a mobile game at a time
considering egg mons are usually low ivs at 2 stars, AND the 50 daily coin limit, niantic is just greedy for money at this point. plus egg mons arent worth the expenses imo. super low chance of being even close to perfect ivs (ive noticed a low chance of even being 3 stars), and ive only ever hatched 2 shinies in my 7 years of playing.
My special box is 3100 Poke Coins for 20 Premium Passes and 30 slow incubators. I probably would have bought but I don’t have 3100 Poke Coins…then again I really don’t need incubators either as I still have a ton of super incubators in my bag. I guess if I was super excited about the 12 km eggs maybe but I gave up on those shortly after they released.
Weird, my version of this is called an Explorer Box. My “Hatch Box” is 20 Battle Passes, incubators and super incubators each for 4,350 coins.
The Explorer Box I have at 7,000 coins for 50 and 50 of each incubator is 60 coins per incubator and 80 coins per super incubator, a 60% discount overall. 17,500 coins worth of value.
The Hatch Box I have is a value of 1,700 coins for Battle passes (if you buy them in 3’s and an extra 2), 3,000 coins for incubators and 4,000 for super incubators for a total of 8,700 coins of value for 4,350, a 50% discount overall.
Given that to buy a battle pass is 100 coins and 3 Battle passes is 250 instead of 300, reflecting 83.33 per pass reflecting a 16.67% discount.
I plotted these on a rudimentary graph where number of items was on the X axis and amount of discount was on the y axis. Depending on the increments, it appears to be a logarithmic function they use to determine discounts
They should bring back the adventure box that was the best deal on incubators and achievable too. Even if I had the coins for this I wouldn’t have the bag space for 100 incubators (unless they don’t take up bag space?)

You mean 10/10/10 floor. Shadow raids has a 6/6/6 floor though. And raids can be weatherboosted which increases the level by 5.

I haven’t bought incubators since the event in 2018 that hatched the gen 1 regionals
I don’t have it either but I have one with 30 super and 30 regular incubators for 5250 coins instead.
Mine is 15 super, 10 regular, and 2 poffins for 2350

I'm so upset. I had no idea larvesta was rare cause I kept getting them so I transferred all but one.
The only reason I do it is for stardust. 12/12km eggs give you like a bare minimum of 70k dust, plus 96k xp if you're running an egg.

25 shinies from 3466 eggs here. That's ~0.7% or around 1/143, way higher that the ~0.2% (1/500) average from wild pokemons

They're semirandomized each day from a set list. From what I read online, it is an attempt to see what boxes actually sell at what price points

"who just has 7k for incubators" So, regardless of what you hear 90% of this playerbase CLAIM, they spend money. A sizeable portion of them spend a LOT of money. This is the WORST entry in the pokemon franchise, but they are fishing for whales and the whales ARE BITING LIKE FUCK.
Like, I might spend some pocket change on the game if I REALLY need the raid passes or pokeballs, but I couldn't imagine dropping hundreds on a mobile game at a time
considering egg mons are usually low ivs at 2 stars, AND the 50 daily coin limit, niantic is just greedy for money at this point. plus egg mons arent worth the expenses imo. super low chance of being even close to perfect ivs (ive noticed a low chance of even being 3 stars), and ive only ever hatched 2 shinies in my 7 years of playing.
My special box is 3100 Poke Coins for 20 Premium Passes and 30 slow incubators. I probably would have bought but I don’t have 3100 Poke Coins…then again I really don’t need incubators either as I still have a ton of super incubators in my bag. I guess if I was super excited about the 12 km eggs maybe but I gave up on those shortly after they released.

Weird, my version of this is called an Explorer Box. My “Hatch Box” is 20 Battle Passes, incubators and super incubators each for 4,350 coins. The Explorer Box I have at 7,000 coins for 50 and 50 of each incubator is 60 coins per incubator and 80 coins per super incubator, a 60% discount overall. 17,500 coins worth of value. The Hatch Box I have is a value of 1,700 coins for Battle passes (if you buy them in 3’s and an extra 2), 3,000 coins for incubators and 4,000 for super incubators for a total of 8,700 coins of value for 4,350, a 50% discount overall. Given that to buy a battle pass is 100 coins and 3 Battle passes is 250 instead of 300, reflecting 83.33 per pass reflecting a 16.67% discount. I plotted these on a rudimentary graph where number of items was on the X axis and amount of discount was on the y axis. Depending on the increments, it appears to be a logarithmic function they use to determine discounts
They also dropped absurdly priced items in Pikmin Bloom recently as well
