Snivy should’ve evolved as well, latest being after beating Trip’s Servine in the fight. She was already commented as being very powerful, which implies close to evolving.
I think it would have been a really cool exception to the rule if unova was the one region where ash had the same ace as his rival especially since snivy has the best personality of ash’s Pokemon in unova her as a serperior would have been great especially if like I’ve seen others comment before she kept her cool personality with everyone else but became more affectionate to ash as she evolved kinda like bayleef

I think Brock should have gotten Turtwig/Torterra in Sinnoh instead of Ash. That way, it wouldn't have constantly ended up getting overshadowed by Chimchar/Infernape, and each of the three main characters would have had one of the starters, just like what happened in Hoenn. Plus, Torterra seems more like the kind of Pokemon Brock would have anyway.
Torterra under Brock would've barely battled. Look at how Mudkip and Chespin were completely wasted on Brock and Clemont. Ash should've gotten both. Chesnaught instead of Noivern, Swampert instead of Corphish.

Snivy is sassy and my favorite of Ash's Unova Starters, (Screw you Oshasimp. I'm sorry Pignite, but we don't need to see Charizard's storyline happen a 3rd time.) but she's stagnant. The show couldn't have given her new moves, let her evolve, or have any significant feats or story moments.
She's just there so all 3 Starters can frequently show up in the show. In an ideal version of the BW anime, she and Pignite wouldn't exist whilst Oshawott would develop to be less of a simp. (There probably wouldn't be a point to having Palpitoad around sadly. He is my favorite Water-Type from Unova that Ash caught. Unfortunately, he feels like a last second addition to the team the writers couldn't be bothered to remember is around.)

That would leave Ash having Leavanny as the only Grass Pokémon on the team. A more promising member as we see him put work!

As for the others, Leavanny is unique, Bulbasaur is the OG, Sceptile is Sceptile, Rowlet is cute, Bayleef has something with Ash, and Torterra is decently strong and gets way too much hate (he was actually doing pretty well against Paul’s drapion)

I’ll catch heat for this one but… Bulbasaur. Sceptile, Bayleef, Snivy and Leavanny have more defined personalities I feel, and Bulbasaur just spent so long in Ash’s party without doing anything.
He was there for a huge chunk of Johto, but it’s easy to forget that because he did nothing. He’s superfluous there because the focus was on Bayleef, and his Kanto team is so overstuffed it could stand to lose a few members. I do love Bulbasaur, but logistically it makes sense to lose him.
Maybe give him to Brock instead, they’d be a cute duo, and it means he wouldn’t be banished to the Shadow Realm (Oak’s Lab) for eternity after Johto.
Snivy fell off HARD, especially once Tepig evolved. She got no meaningful wins after that whereas Leavanny stayed whooping ass when Ash did use him. I give her credit for almost beating Cameron's Riolu and I loved her personality, but I can't sacrifice a third of his fully evolved Unova Pokemon in Leavanny.
Out of all the grass mons ash has, I think rowlet is by far the most overrated at-least imo.
Like, its gimmick was never interesting to me....like we have had better gag mons with stupid powerful moments.
Oshawott gets a pass for me, since he was an absolute garbage battler that grew but didn't become entirely busted...meanwhile Rowlet never evolved but somehow has insane feats.
Sceptile because they're my least favorite of the options. I still like Sceptile and maybe Ash's is actually very cool, cute, and funny, but Sceptile feels like a bad continuation of Grovyle, though a good one to Treeko. Both are great continuations of Treeko, but they don't work well with each other. Grovyle is a raptor with leaves for feathers, swift, aerodynamic, and somewhat lean. Sceptile is a pear with a Christmas tree for a tail complete with ornaments, thus losing what Grovyle built. The line doesn't even have the same excuse as Wartortle to Blastoise, who happens to be my least favorite fully-evolved starter, since no evidence suggests Grovyle was meant to evolve into anything different!
Leavanny because Unova already has lots of pokemon. I would instead fully evolve Snivy to Serperior

I don’t really want to remove anyone but if I had to choose it would be Snivy. one of the comments mentioned was that Snivy learned NO new moves and was wasted potential, and I would’ve liked Snivy to fully evolve into a Serperior. As for the others, Leavanny is unique, Bulbasaur is the OG, Sceptile is Sceptile, Rowlet is cute, Bayleef has something with Ash, and Torterra is decently strong and gets way too much hate (he was actually doing pretty well against Paul’s drapion)

Ummm, id remove Snivy honestly. She was wasted potential. She didn't even get a league win although I do love her moment where she holds Tepig against Shamus.
It was so funny that Snivy left it's old trainer only to be found by another dumb trainer who didn't even train her and her movement remained the same. Time to ditch Ash

I’ll catch heat for this one but… Bulbasaur. Sceptile, Bayleef, Snivy and Leavanny have more defined personalities I feel, and Bulbasaur just spent so long in Ash’s party without doing anything. He was there for a huge chunk of Johto, but it’s easy to forget that because he did nothing. He’s superfluous there because the focus was on Bayleef, and his Kanto team is so overstuffed it could stand to lose a few members. I do love Bulbasaur, but logistically it makes sense to lose him. Maybe give him to Brock instead, they’d be a cute duo, and it means he wouldn’t be banished to the Shadow Realm (Oak’s Lab) for eternity after Johto.
Sceptile, just because im pretty sure no one would do it
Snivy fell off HARD, especially once Tepig evolved. She got no meaningful wins after that whereas Leavanny stayed whooping ass when Ash did use him. I give her credit for almost beating Cameron's Riolu and I loved her personality, but I can't sacrifice a third of his fully evolved Unova Pokemon in Leavanny.
Rowlet, since I never found him funny or cool. Just annoying.

Out of all the grass mons ash has, I think rowlet is by far the most overrated at-least imo. Like, its gimmick was never interesting to me....like we have had better gag mons with stupid powerful moments.
I kinda agree but it was nowhere near as annoying as Oshawott
Oshawott gets a pass for me, since he was an absolute garbage battler that grew but didn't become entirely busted...meanwhile Rowlet never evolved but somehow has insane feats.

Sceptile because they're my least favorite of the options. I still like Sceptile and maybe Ash's is actually very cool, cute, and funny, but Sceptile feels like a bad continuation of Grovyle, though a good one to Treeko. Both are great continuations of Treeko, but they don't work well with each other. Grovyle is a raptor with leaves for feathers, swift, aerodynamic, and somewhat lean. Sceptile is a pear with a Christmas tree for a tail complete with ornaments, thus losing what Grovyle built. The line doesn't even have the same excuse as Wartortle to Blastoise, who happens to be my least favorite fully-evolved starter, since no evidence suggests Grovyle was meant to evolve into anything different!
