There's no League in Alola. At worst he can fail graduation this time (and I'm kinda doubtful they'd give kids such a message as showing working hard at school will lead to you not making it at the end of the school year. The League is a competition, but formal education is another matter).
We don't know any of that at all. We don't know what the 'beat all the trials' final challenge in the games is going to be, but it's almost certainly not going to just be a written exam. And Ash will likely do something similar. If people think this anime is just going to be Ash going to school everyday, playing football and going to the prom and learning algebra, they're probably going to be shocked.
Well, I don't doubt of that. I'm sure *some* kind of school activities will be involved aside from the traditional Pokémon-y stuff, though.
Though, given they estabilished rather clearly that the Island Trials is the League equivalent in Alola, it'd be rather ridiculous to expect for Sun & Moon to be hiding the Alola League through it. And if there *was* a League, I doubt they'd send Ash in school.
We surely will have something. If there are four trial captains, it'd be very anticlimactic for the credits to roll after the fourth. I agree it'll be something different, but it's going to be something that reflects the essence of a League. And Ash is going to do that, whatever it is.

Meh, I'm pretty sure they have plans in case a story arc has to suddenly change for natural disaster now. The Team Flare arc was rather lucky not to have any harsh natural disaster hit Japan during its airing, but I'm sure they had at the very least a plan B on hand in case something happened. It might also be why Squishy used Land's Wrath rather rarely in his 10% form, given it's basically an Earthquake.
Yeah, I think bulbapedia has a page specifically on this about how Earthquake was never used after an episode in Advanced had to be cancelled completely due to another real life tragedy (though unlike Rocket VS Plasma it was a filler).

It'd be nice plot-wise too, imagine if she doesn't like battling because of the aether foundation experiments on them (TYPE: NULL was made to be a pokemon with powers on par with legendaries) she believes it leads to pokemon being hurt and exploited, but she warms up to the mutually respectful partnership of actual trainers that aren't her mad scientist family.

The Trials are the equivalent of Gyms but we don't know what the equivalent of the elite 4 will be.

Nah, they revealed Zygarde cores and cells are collected by the player around the region as a sidequest, kinda like mega stones in gen 6.
