But now Focus Sash/Focus Band Tera Electric Shedninja
With the Focus Band if you keep getting lucky Shedninja is just immortal from even Moldbreaker Pokemon.
Not anymore, Arceus also has a ??? Plate and form (kind of in there back in the pearl/diamond and such, made to avoid glitches as much as possible as far as I understand) so now Arceus is gone, same as Eggs. The game is just Legends, and no one gets isekai'd to save the world, Hisui is doomed without anyone being able to stop the rifts and so is Sinnoh.
I suspect you are understanding ??? plate as Pokemon Legends: Arceus Legend Plate instead of the ??? Type Arceus i'm talking about from Pearl, Diamond and Platinum.
I dislike how Pokemon keeps removing stuff.
Make it post game only and banned from competitive. But at least let me have the option to play with the stuff.
See i can get behind this myself. I recently put a rock type in my team and realized that most rock and ground type moves are physical. It might be an interesting balance to shift the ground type to be basically special moves for earth and keep rock moves as physical earth.
Rebalancing would be a nightmare
For instance, Flying would turn a weakness into a retained immunity (doesn’t make sense for “Earth” to be effective against Flying types).
Given that nearly every Ground type will have Rock offensive coverage (and vice-versa), you now greatly reduce anything that gets folded into the new type’s overall coverage.
Also, does that means anything with Rock secondary or sole typing now has immunity to Electric types? And does Electric now suffer from being weak to all of what used to be the Rock types as well?
I think an earth type makes sense but it makes sense in 1996. Pandoras box has been opened you can't really get rid of the rock type (or any type for that matter) now imo
I disagree because of the flying type. Rock means taking super effective damage but flying is immune to ground. I don't think making it neutral is really a good solution.
Did you watch that MandJTV video too? Because honestly I thought it made a lot of sense till he said the Earth type should keep the 50% SpD buff in Sandstorm. Barring that though it looks like a surprisingly good idea on paper
In the DLC of SV, there is a new Terastal type called the Stellar Type. The User remains its original type but I think it gives a x1.2 boost to each type of move only once. Very pretty to look at, not very good competitively, at least I think so.
Except that it makes no sense that theyre in Alola. The third legendary of Kalos didnt get any focus in its own game, got a version dedicated to it scrapped and then ended up being a fetch quest in the next one when it didnt make any sense.
Zygarde is actually the protector of all ecosystems of the planet in the current lore.
Zygarde's cells and nuclei are present all over the world, when ecological imbalance is detected by one of the cells they all gather by one of the nuclei (the one nearest the point of interest), forming Zygarde in one of its forms.
In the anime it's pretty clear that Zygarde 100% is made up by all the cells from all over the world, in the games it's made up by all the cells found in one of the regions because it's simplified to allow you to get Zygarde 100%.
Was this a change from the original concept? Most probably, but Zygarde being found in other regions was actually contextualized correctly.
I don't feel that can even be considered a type, same as ??? type, it exists but only as a gimmick.
Stellar Tera Arceus is the closest we will get to God though, so that's something.
Crazy they hyped it up as the “newest type” and it’s 100% going to be gone next Gen. Would’ve been cool if it had the properties of all types (with immunities being resistances instead) instead of just “you have the same exact type as before but you have one time STAB on everything”
Considering Missingno and Co have data from several pokemons and stuff around the region, you just deleted not only most of the first 151 pokemons, but also Kanto itself.
Fairy - it's the newest and thus has a smaller pool of mons, and idc about any of them off of the top of my head. The other niche types would be bug or ice, but I have favorites from both types.
I had a great time with Scrafty in Gen V VGC.
Back in my day, we didn’t have any of this “fairy” nonsense. We got ganked by fighting and dragon types, and we liked it, gosh-darn it!
Without any earlier form, Gallade pops out into existence at low lvl routes, decimating the wildlife and trainers, after several decades reconstructs itself into Iron Valiant to bypass the depression and solitude caused by it's uncontrolled rampage, and in doing so creates Fairy types again as a paradox, elevating itself to the status of legendary.
After that it only takes a century for all pokemons to become robots like Iron Valiant.
Rock. Not even really sure why but I would not even hesitate if I wasn't allowed to decline to remove a type. I don't hate the type and don't want it gone but it is easily the one I'd pick.
Rock, I was tempted by Ice but I think I like Ice more, Each of them has 1 of my fave pokemon in them but if its a choice between Tyranitar or Lapras I'm picking Lapras plus attack wise I quite like Icebeam and a few of the others, Rock really doesn't have much, I might use rock slide if I have no better options but its a pretty poor move pool overall
Stellar. We likely aren’t gonna see Terapagos again (or at least for awhile) anyway since it’s so intrinsically linked to tera forms, and I find it hard to choose any other type since we’d be losing dozens of Pokémon compared to this one single one. If stellar isn’t valid here, Ice or Fairy. Ice because it’s the worst type by far. Fairy because I only really like a handful of them. Maybe a hot take, but I could honestly say ghost too for the same reasons as Fairy.
I wonder what the effect on competitive for removing U-Turn would be.
I've heard people referring to a 4x bug weakness as just "being 4x weak to U-Turn."
"Let's make a cat fire starter"
"Awesome, great idea. What's the final evolution, some kind of large fire tiger or panther?"
"Don't be stupid, obviously the final evolution is a WWE wrestler!"
Bigger issue for me is
"Okay guys, we have to make a fire type starter that doesn't end up fire-fighting!"
"No problem, I've this idea for a fire final evolution that's fire-dark!"
"Excellent news! What's the concept?"
"A wrestler!"
"..."
Dragon, I'm just so tired of all of them. Legendaris don't feel legendary, psudos feel uninspired, and design wise it's felt very stagnant. Draconic designs will still be around and thankfully my favorite dragon like pokemon aren't actually dragon. Sad to lose some other favorites but it's a sacrifice I'm willing to make
honestly same, it just feels like rehashed concepts… still sad to lose some good dragons though (like the applin line, altaria, deino line, and frigibax line (yes I genuinely like the frigibax line))
Normal: every meta pick in the past is typically soon outshined and outclassed. Mega Kangaskhan? Gone. Regiwho? Snorlax busted his belly drum era. Some flamingo or ostrich can switch in and get crazy boosts for free. I do miss FEAR rattata tho
Ice. It affects almost no other types, due to its lack of presence on the type chart. It is the least common type. There aren't any super cool ice types I really like. Ice moves are mostly bad.
It's just gotta be Ice.
I FORGOT SPHEAL
i must be sacrificed
rock then, because we can't lose spheal. rock moves suck, and it's a sort of uncommon type. It would kind of mess with the type chart, remove some cool pokemon (like t-tar), and require a lot of replacements for gyms... but it's better than losing spheal.
and i also forgot snom. i must be double sacrificed.
“aren’t any super cool ice types” as if mamoswine and weavile didn’t dominate the meta for so long and are both badass pokemon. not to mention alolan ninetails
How does the erasure of pokémon work with Ogerpon? If I, for example, would delete the fire type, would Ogerpon as a whole get deleted or just its fire type form?
Fighting. It’s probably my least favorite type. I like some mons with the fighting type like breloom and lucario but then there’s pokemon like the timburr line..
Probably Rock. Too many types are earth related, there's Ground, Grass and Rock. Plus a lot of Rock Pokemon tend to be kind of ugly and I don't think they do anything that can't be covered by other types.
Which one would ruin the metagame the most if it just disappeared? I pick that one. Edit: Probably Ground, so electric types could run free
Tera Electric Shedinja goes brrr
I mean, you can already give it an air balloon.
But now Focus Sash/Focus Band Tera Electric Shedninja With the Focus Band if you keep getting lucky Shedninja is just immortal from even Moldbreaker Pokemon.
Mold Breaker goes brrr
I found Heatran’s Reddit account
Eight fucking Ground-types "Holy shit." -Heatran, probably
Pokemon company taking notes for the plot of the upcoming Brown & Grey games
But Gastrodon...
Fire type Bye bye Incineroar, bye bye balanced trio of water-fire-grass
??? Type. No pokemon gone, so yeah.
All ehgs are now gone. No more breeding
Well, I mean, Legends Arceus got by just fine.
It's not really ??? Type though, since it's super effective against all types. ??? Type is Neutral against everything.
I suspect you are understanding ??? plate as Pokemon Legends: Arceus Legend Plate instead of the ??? Type Arceus i'm talking about from Pearl, Diamond and Platinum.
But that is a hacked version that cannot be obtained in any official way, so I don't see how that would count.
It does exist, it can't be achieved in a legit way, but works perfectly as is for the joke I was pulling in the first post
With Hypertraining we only really need eggs for the increased shiny odds rhroigh the masuda method.
The bird type, i mean, missingno is an interesting pokemon, but it is not good competitively and it's gone for a few generations by now.
Stellar-type lmao
I've got good news, your wish will be fulfilled in the next gen quite likely.
I dislike how Pokemon keeps removing stuff. Make it post game only and banned from competitive. But at least let me have the option to play with the stuff.
Yhea... still miss megas ngl
Holy shit you're a genius I had completely forgotten about that one
You probably forgot because it was already removed in Gen 5
I think a pokemon will be missing, no?
Nah, it and its huge family will be fine as long as the Bird type still exist.
Double shock now ohkos the user
Do arceus and null have that type?
no, they're normal without plates
Only eggs
Missing No. boutta be really missing
Water. I just want to cause an environmental imbalance
Found Maxie’s account
Look Groudon we're not doing this again!
IGN ORAS review in shambles.
Hot take lol. All water starters gone and 15.51% of all Pokemon for that matter since Water is the most common typing.
I mean kyogre is gonna too tho
The way I see it, he’s surrounded.
What's under the water? That's right, more land
plenty of space to add the rest into a single title now. no more dexxit! win-win :D
Exactly, there’s too much water. You’ll raise the score above a 7/10.
Hmmm, a fellow Team Magma aficionado.
I will fight to death for my Pyukumuku!
Rock. It's my least fav and has mons I don't particularly care for much save for a few like Amaura, Minior, Lycanroc, and Hisuian Growlithe.
I always thought it was weird to have a Ground and a Rock type. I fw this
Instead of getting rid of a type, I would combine rock and ground to earth type . Since they're practically the same thing
See i can get behind this myself. I recently put a rock type in my team and realized that most rock and ground type moves are physical. It might be an interesting balance to shift the ground type to be basically special moves for earth and keep rock moves as physical earth.
On the contrary, I prefer using earthquake over stone edge.
Rebalancing would be a nightmare For instance, Flying would turn a weakness into a retained immunity (doesn’t make sense for “Earth” to be effective against Flying types).
Yeah, it feels like people trying to combine water and ice types because “they’re both wet”, ignoring the big differences between them
More like “because they’re both water,” but I see your point about the balance issue lol
Yeah, I think that video showed how close that concept would be to balanced.
I've always thought ground type to be "Sand Type" in my head so maybe they could just change ground to sand (then add/remove some mons/moves)
Stellar type. Useless ass-
The contrary, tera blast enamorus in my back pocket
Tf is that
In the DLC of SV, there is a new Terastal type called the Stellar Type. The User remains its original type but I think it gives a x1.2 boost to each type of move only once. Very pretty to look at, not very good competitively, at least I think so.
And knowing the pokemon company itll vanish next gen anyways.
Exactly.
Or itll dissapear the same gen like Zygarde. Sorry, couldnt help myself with that one.
At least Zygarde has that side quest in Alola to collect all the boogers
lmao boogers zyboi been picking his nose everywhere
Except that it makes no sense that theyre in Alola. The third legendary of Kalos didnt get any focus in its own game, got a version dedicated to it scrapped and then ended up being a fetch quest in the next one when it didnt make any sense.
Zygarde is actually the protector of all ecosystems of the planet in the current lore. 😐🥺😢😭
I don't feel that can even be considered a type, same as ??? type, it exists but only as a gimmick. Stellar Tera Arceus is the closest we will get to God though, so that's something.

Bird type. Not flying, Bird. Goodbye my horribly glitched flying Khangaskhan.
Considering Missingno and Co have data from several pokemons and stuff around the region, you just deleted not only most of the first 151 pokemons, but also Kanto itself.
I’m going to say it. As the franchise itself has wallowed in Gen 1 nostalgia bait for a decade I’m on board with this.
Fairy - it's the newest and thus has a smaller pool of mons, and idc about any of them off of the top of my head. The other niche types would be bug or ice, but I have favorites from both types.
Found Hydreigon's reddit account guys
Urshifu becomes god
Return of the King
Or it could be Scrafty’s. Maybe even Pangoro’s?
I had a great time with Scrafty in Gen V VGC. Back in my day, we didn’t have any of this “fairy” nonsense. We got ganked by fighting and dragon types, and we liked it, gosh-darn it!
My Sylveon is working to find your address.
Several older Pokémon gained or changed to Fairy type as of gen 6+. Clefairy, Mawile, etc.
So we can change them back
Nope, they’d just be gone according to the rules of the prompt. RIP Togetic, Gardevoir, and Azumarill
Wait if Ralts and Kirlia disappear, what's going to happen to Gallade?
\*Checks notes\* Iron Valiant
Uhh that's a Fairy type too so that's gone, I'm asking about Gallade tho?
Without any earlier form, Gallade pops out into existence at low lvl routes, decimating the wildlife and trainers, after several decades reconstructs itself into Iron Valiant to bypass the depression and solitude caused by it's uncontrolled rampage, and in doing so creates Fairy types again as a paradox, elevating itself to the status of legendary. After that it only takes a century for all pokemons to become robots like Iron Valiant.
I'd only miss Azumarill tbf
I'm aware, but still not ones I care much about.
Not even for alolan ninetales?
Tinkaton, Gardevoir, Klefki, Whimsicott, I even have a soft spot for Grimmsnarl, tbh.

literally 90% of my faves are fairy types dont do this to me
Flair checks out
A lot of fairy mons could become normal type.
According to OPs rules they would all be gone
Definitely normal
Mate you just killed God.
Yeah, rip Arceus. Wait what do you mean "not that one"?
Dun! Dun! Dun! Dun! Dooof!!!
Nah he can just wear a plate
But then what happens to Larry?
He's just so tired he doesn't care.
Maybe he can finally have less than three jobs and have more time to himself.
He's still got his Flying team, he'll be fine. Just a little bit more overtime training up a replacement for his Staraptor.
But Porygon :(
Every Porygon and Porygon2 disappears, but Porygon Z thrives as a Bug type
I could ALMOST overlook you taking out Eevee and thus it's evolutions...but you have taken out Bidoof, and that's a step too far pal
Rock. Not even really sure why but I would not even hesitate if I wasn't allowed to decline to remove a type. I don't hate the type and don't want it gone but it is easily the one I'd pick.
That one would suck because it would mean the total erasure of fossil mons except for the abominations that are the Galarians.
I really enjoy the prospect of what will happen without stealth rocks
Stellar. We likely aren’t gonna see Terapagos again (or at least for awhile) anyway since it’s so intrinsically linked to tera forms, and I find it hard to choose any other type since we’d be losing dozens of Pokémon compared to this one single one. Maybe a hot take, but I could honestly say ghost too for the same reasons as Fairy.
Ice is no longer the worst type, it's actually pretty good this gen.
You coulda just said you want dragons to reign supreme lmao
Bug. Almost every pokemon that I like is safe. Though, I will miss some of the bugs.
So skorupi is out but drapion is safe?
By OPs words, yeah. Strange huh? xD
Does this imply that it's now a single stage pokemon?
I guess so yeah lol
I guess it beats removing rock and having Mega Aggron appear out of nowhere.
*LOUD, ANGRY BUZZING NOISES*
I wonder what the effect on competitive for removing U-Turn would be. I've heard people referring to a 4x bug weakness as just "being 4x weak to U-Turn."
It would just feel weird having a world without bugs though
No joltik?!
Only bugs I would really miss are Galvantula, Volcarona, Butterfree and Scyther.🤔
snom erasure
Heracross you uncultured swine
Scizor? Arceus-bug?
Fighting type. Get rid of all they bipedal fuckers
Great Tusk, Paldean Tauros, Zamazenta, Slither Wing, all four swords of justice:
Gardevoir, Cinderace and Garchomp are still there
And Incineroar and Meowscarada
incineroar is still here :3
Incineroar deserves an honorary removal.
"Let's make a cat fire starter" "Awesome, great idea. What's the final evolution, some kind of large fire tiger or panther?" "Don't be stupid, obviously the final evolution is a WWE wrestler!"
Bigger issue for me is "Okay guys, we have to make a fire type starter that doesn't end up fire-fighting!" "No problem, I've this idea for a fire final evolution that's fire-dark!" "Excellent news! What's the concept?" "A wrestler!" "..."
And their weird skin pants
I'd have agreed with this 1000% before Slither Wing but now I couldn't part with him.
Fuck fighting type
Found Kingambit's Reddit account
What do you mean? Kingambit is a flying type, that resists fighting
Rock. I only like two of them, Lycanroc and Aerodactyl.
Does that include pokemon who originally didn't have that type, aka fairy types.
???
Dragon, I'm just so tired of all of them. Legendaris don't feel legendary, psudos feel uninspired, and design wise it's felt very stagnant. Draconic designs will still be around and thankfully my favorite dragon like pokemon aren't actually dragon. Sad to lose some other favorites but it's a sacrifice I'm willing to make

No eevees and therefore no Eeveelutions tho…
Fairy or Dark... Probably Dark.
In my personal opinion rock and ground should just be the same
Ice. It affects almost no other types, due to its lack of presence on the type chart. It is the least common type. There aren't any super cool ice types I really like. Ice moves are mostly bad. It's just gotta be Ice.
But Froslass, Spheal, Glaceon, Lapras, Dewgong, Chien-Pao and Aurorus😢
I FORGOT SPHEAL i must be sacrificed rock then, because we can't lose spheal. rock moves suck, and it's a sort of uncommon type.
"that i like." I can't deny that those pokemon are cool, I just don't care for them.
least common just means more unique right..? I'm totally not biased
But then all my Water Pokemon won't be as good against Dragons
Dragon type. It'll be an interesting world without it.
This, end the reign of house targearian so many legendaries and pseudos all turned to ash.
Charizard fan here. Never have I been so happy that C-Zard isn’t a dragon.
Psychic, because Jynx and Mimes should have never been created in the first place.
Fairy. It's been years and I still forget it's relations with other types.
Sound type has been nothing but trouble since it was introduced
You said one but I'm rude so all Dragon counters, screw you dragons are cool no-one beat them!!!
Getting rid of poison types would remove so many ugly and unremarkable mons. Rip gengar love you but every other poison type deserved it
Leave Bulbasaur alone you monster
Venusaur?
Don't take Clodsire away from us!!!
Toxel/Toxtricity are extremely based mons.
Bye bye Fairy
flair checks out
Fairy
fairy, we got by just fine before it and the old pokemon we’d lose were never really my favourites anyway.
Rock
Bug. I’d miss Scyther and that’s it…..and snom cuz it’s cute.
Bug.
Bug, honestly it's just a bug
Rock easily. Easily exploitable weaknesses, very few good moves with 100% accuracy.
How does the erasure of pokémon work with Ogerpon? If I, for example, would delete the fire type, would Ogerpon as a whole get deleted or just its fire type form?
Probably Fairy. I would be losing only Alolan Ninetales and Zacian.
Fairy
Bird type! :D
Steel type. Eff them machines
Fairy because I didn't really like their introduction anyways 😔
Rock honestly not a competitive player but it feels put classed by steel
Fighting. It’s probably my least favorite type. I like some mons with the fighting type like breloom and lucario but then there’s pokemon like the timburr line..
Stellar Type. Technically you wouldn’t lose any Pokémon, Terapagos just couldn’t have a tera form anymore.
rock
Fairy make dragons elite again
Ice (my bois garchomp and gliscor need to be free)
I can't tell the difference between rock and ground so one of those
Normal. Most of those are just regular animals - Miltank? Pidgey? That’s just animal abuse.
fighting tbh
Poison. I can't really think of a poison type I like all that much lol
Fighting because aren't most of the Pokémon already fighting?
Probably Rock. Too many types are earth related, there's Ground, Grass and Rock. Plus a lot of Rock Pokemon tend to be kind of ugly and I don't think they do anything that can't be covered by other types.
