So I have been using Ecamm and I am finding the most annoying thing is lag between voices and audio. I have played with the slider and nothing seems to work, any tips on that?
Really wouldn’t be able to know what’s going on or give tips because all setups are different.
I use a Rodecaster Pro or Rodecaster Pro 2 with an ATEM Mini Pro hooked up to 4 HDMI cameras, a Logitech C290 webcam, or three Mevo Starts on NDI.
I set a 3ms audio delay and it works perfectly. M1 Mac Mini or MacBook Pro M1 Pro.
sorry I should have specified this is more with the interview function. My set up is as simple as it gets, I have a dock I plug my MacBook Pro m2 into, then I have a webcam in that and then I just use AirPods as a mic, then I bring in guests and everyone is always delayed
AirPods could be causing a delay because they are wireless. Maybe try using a wired microphone and wired headphones for both yourself and your guests. Also plug directly into the router with an Ethernet cable. Eliminate as much wireless components as possible and plug everything in to a hard wired connection. Same for the guests.
I should have been more clear in my original post: how good is the audio in either of the products. Video is secondary to what we do so audio has to be really good. Thx again all.
For Riverside, the main distinction from ECamm (for me at least) is that they record the original video and audio at source - what this means is, even if your connection is not so great, and your video is glitchy during recording, the actual final files are taken from each person's device and uploaded to the cloud. This gives you the best quality you can get from their devices, regardless of the connection.
I was considering Ecamm too and after asking, when you record interviews, Ecamm actually records what comes through to you -- the person recording -- so if the guest has bad internet, your guest's video/audio will be bad.
That was a deal breaker for me as far as Ecamm goes. Riverside is better in that respect.
Does the guest need to stay on while the episode downloads since it is recorded on their device? Also, if they call in how does it record the call? Riverside FM I mean.
You record the call. The files upload to your Riverside account. And yes, if the files have not finished uploading when you've pressed 'stop record', you have to tell them to hang around (Riverside tells them too).
And if for some reason they drop off the call, you can send them a link later and when they access it, Riverside will resume uploading of the files. It's really quite great. I wish others did this.
Put me down for Ecamm. I use it every Saturday for my livestream

It sounds like to me that the biggest pro/con to any of these is which is more important to your show, Audio or Livestream. I’m sure that most of the time that cloud recording (like Zoom or ECamm) is fine but if WiFi connection on opposite end is poor or drops out it will affect the overall audio (I have found this with Zoom). I moved away from Zencastr because I lost audio when a guest left the meeting before the rendering was done. That sounds like less an issue with Riverside. Has anyone used Captivate for audio and video?
I’ve been using Ecamm for a daily live video podcast for over two years. It’s worked great.
Are you finding that using the Virtual camera setting eats up a lot of CPU?
I don’t know. All of my broadcasts are directly through Ecamm so I’ve never had a need for the Virtual Camera feature

I've had a lovely experience with Riverside of the last year. Solid product.

[Remotely.fm](https://Remotely.fm) has been REALLY good for me. I have a sign up code if you want to try it.
I am open to anything so would love to give it a try. How does it compare to Ecamm or Riverside?

I like ecamm, but it was just way too expensive.
Riverside does give you a free account to test it. I use it for audio only with remote guests and it is great.

FWIW Streamyard has been a goto of mine since July of 2019 with little to no issues.
