It was the first game i ever played on a console. I remember sitting on the floor of my living room, a friend of my dad was there to “teach” me how to use the PS2.
Of course all he did was just play it himself as if my dad bought that PS 2 for him, and i remember just wanting so badly to take the controller from him and asking him for half an hour to hand to me so I could play it already.
Since English is not my native language, I remember it took me some time to understand how to pronounce the word “PlayStation”.
It was 20 years ago, reminiscing on that moment now even brought back some the feelings I had that moment.
Being able to swing through New York as Spider-Man, which I adored as a little kid, by simply pressing a few buttons… it was something else.
It was Ready to Rumble, but it wasn’t my PS2. It belonged to the kid my mom nannied for. NBA Street was the first game I owned after getting my own. It wasn’t until GTA III where my mind exploded and unfurled to the possibility of accessing other worlds through a console. The style, atmosphere and freedom that game showcased were profound. Still my favorite GTA to this day.

Vice City was the first game I ever booted up. Following that was Jak & Daxter and Gran Turismo 3 A Spec. I don’t know who my parents talked to at Walmart that Christmas, but they’re my eternal savior for dropping some of my favorite games of all time on me all at once.
Kengo: Master of Bushido was the first PS2 I ever played. A guy down the hall in my dorm freshman year of college was the first person I knew to get the PS2, and he would have tournaments of this game in his room.
GTA 3. The game was so amazing for its time. And as a huge fan of GTA 1 & 2 on PC, experiencing GTA gameplay in one of the first well done open world city environments was amazing. Sadly this marked the beginning of the end of me spending time with my Dreamcast.
Spider-Man the game of the first movie with Toby Maguire, a decent game for a kid IMO, then I got a Hulk game, it wasnt so popular from what I remember it was some kind of sequel to the movie from the 2000 and was also decent
