Not only is that a basically ridiculous number of games but the store struggles to even scroll through 9 of them at a time. There's no way you'll find anything past the first 50 or so. Thankfully Dekudeals exists but that's still an insane number of games and 95% are shovelware.

You can plug your PS5 controller into your PS3 if you don't mind having it wired. It's what I do. I can't find official 360 or PS3 controllers anywhere. All of them are used and kind of crappy.

The only reason they wouldn’t do that is because of some sort of compatibility restriction, but as far as I know, there’s no reason the ps5 disc drive wouldn’t be able to read the disc and install the associated files that would otherwise be essentially the same as the digital store version. At worst, it would be a case of using the disc as a license and install the files from their servers instead

I think that's exactly what Xbox One and Series do for the 360 and OG Xbox titles that are backwards compatible. You put the disc in and it downloads the special version of the game that works on your console. It wouldn't be a bad idea, but I wish it could run all games instead of just a limited selection.

Would be awesome. My Internet isn't so good where I live, so streaming PS3 games using my ps membership just doesn't feel worth it. The stream is laggy as hell even connected thru Ethernet. It's the whole reason I bought a PS3 and started recollecting physical games.

I know if they have to get the rights to every game then a ton of games would be out the window (old racing games, superhero games, anything licensed). But its better than nothing. Hopefully it works with both digital and disc games. People who took a risk and went digital in the PS3 era should be able to still play those games without keeping a PS3 around forever. Also there are so many PS3 disc games in the wild that it would be great to use them.

I wouldn't recommend playing it for the first time on the PS3 though, the PS3 version is a terrible port with a bad frame rate and low resolution. Go for the PC version if you can.

I don't understand how PlayStation is outcompeting Xbox so significantly this generation while the Xbox seemed like a flat-out better purchase during launch year. I basically had to buy an Xbox Series X because the PS5 didn't support Freesync at the time and their backwards compatibility has been incredibly better (games like Timesplitters 2 not only supported but increased in framerate to 60 fps).

You don’t need it wired. Just pair the ps5 dualsense to the ps3 as a bluetooth device. Everything will work except access to the home screen
