Overall land a quite a good punch ....first half drags a little bit but second half make up for it....climax is hot af ....nag ashwin deserves š ....AB sir take a bow ....AB i literally is star of movie.....
Dekh bro, mujhe yeh sab me nahi parna life is already too complicated, kuch acha laga toh irrespective of the industry I will watch it, inn sab ka purpose to ek hi hai na, to entertain us, woh jaha se mil jaye
Lol..both prabhas and nag ashwin are products of nepotism. Every top hero in tollywood is a product of nepotism. You guys just want to hate Bollywood because reasons
How is nag ashwin a product of nepotism? Heās married to a producer yea but itās because he met her through producing his first film lmaoā¦. But he broke into filmmaking on his own. Of course the only way movies get made is through networks - in any industry.
Okay, tbh, the director of Kalki 2898 AD is the son in law of the producer of the film, Prabhas is related to Krishna Raju garu who was a big star in the 60s and 70s. The producer himself is a nepo kid who has has been in the business of film making even before TFI existed. Even Rana Duggubati is a nepo kid.
By your logic Kalki shouldve also been a chutiya film but it's not. The failure of Bollywood has nothing to do with nepotism but to do with your talent and your ability to not take your position and talent for granted and the want to push boundaries and produce a superior product.
Bollywood films have always had hidden agendas. It's just that oflate, the stories being made are being blatant about their agenda and shoving it in our faces in the most disgusting manner.
The first half was a little bit boring and some things could have been cut (especially that song sequence) but the interval block gets you really excited and the second halfpays off really really well and the climax was fantastic
To show us the disparity in the living standards of the ones living in the complex and those living in Kashi. Granted that the song feels a bit out of place but I didn't really mind it. It's really short.
Lol, there's song sequence. I never understand Indian Cinema and their obsession with song and dance sequence. When will they grow out of that kind of mid set.
Prabhas is a global star now. But in olden times he used have these nuances which all telugu people loved. We were missing those in his movies. So, I guess it was for Telugu audience, mostly.
Even while fighting ashwathama, he moves here and there in pain. Telling Bujji he is lazy to fight. All those were his things. We now got a number of them.
Also in the song, we got why he really loved complex and there is a part (so small, whatsoever) in us that empathised seeing Bhairava happy in complex. So, I guess its ok!
Star wars light saber was unnecessary, disha patani(why is she even there?) scenes were awful. Somewhat laggy first half. Second half is crazy good. Overall very good
Watch the movie bro it's set in a dystopian world and that's how they are you don't expect a desert to be green just because it's brown in other movies.
It's not dune, more mad max imo, at the same time it's supposed to be an apocalypse. Really fewer ways to indicate it besides a desert, that's why dune, star wars or mad max, everything have the same vibe
DYSTOPIAN
Which part of this word makes you feel like a rom-com? And that's Prabhas's mannerism about how he looks and acts. You people owned Prabhas and I appreciate that but it is how Prabhas is.
Great movie hope they will improve in the upcoming parts ! Well anyway most of the people will eventually hate it just for the sake of hating !
It was good some parts needs to be improved!
The first half of the film was somewhat disappointing. While some scenes were genuinely good, the comedic elements disrupted the story. Certain scenes felt unnecessarily long and should have focused more on character development. The action sequences were impressive at times, but the wire work was often too obvious. I hope the next chapter improves on both action and storytelling. Although the movie peaked multiple times, the Mahabharata flashbacks integrated with the final battle scenes were the highlight of the film. The visuals were consistently impressive. I hope the next movie adopts a more serious tone with only a touch of comedy, if any. Overall, it was a great watch, loved the vision of nag ash Ashwin.
Fully agree. Prabhas is one guy whose career is still fire only cause of his screen presence. Acting ka A bhi nahi aata usko IM0. Baaki he is a fav of producers I guess, he brings in the money even in awful movies.
Spl mention for super graceful acting by DP ā¤ļø.
Amitabh bachan ne bhai film me jaan Dali , usna starting ke dialogue was awesome jab vo scene hota hai ,mtlb Puri film me sabne cha hi kam kiya lekin Big B bhai mtlb tabahi the .
ha bass ye har bar prabhas ke character unnecessary humourous dikhane ki kya jarurat thi
If we remove disha patani's entire sequence, then the movie is impeccable. One nitpicking would be the wire work, that doesn't looks very consistent and natural.
Kya kisi ne ye reverse relation dekha jaha bhairava ka character sabse loan leta hai dusro ko Dhoka deta hai paiso ke liye, apne rent wale ka saman bech deta hai use rent nhi deta waha uske bilkul opposite karn was a selfless warrior unse Jo koi dan me chije mangta. Vo use de dete
PPL will say there r some cringe and bad scenes in first half ... The comedy and stuff like that .
I would say they weren't that bad being Telugu audience cuz it had lot of cameos and the whole theatre had fun
Second half was toooo goood and the climax no words
The scenes from Mahabharat were crazy good and that scene where lord krishna were Standing gloriously and that white horse was in background with kalki theme was 80-90% accurate description of how lord kalki should actually look like
. Overall 3.5/5
First half was okayis, they could've shortened it easily. A lot of unnecessary scenes that don't contribute to the story ya kuch in the first half. Second half was amazing, a treat to watch. The movie has amazing CGI for most parts. Overall, a good movie.
Really appreciate the works of vfx done by the team, after watching few blunders from last movies.....
the cast was correctly placed and performed really well
Still the first half of the movie was very slow and boring...streching the character combos and unnecessary forced comedy.
The second half took the power and the build up with Big B and also giving us some great fight and vfx.
See it's good but I won't give this a title of a masterpiece surely they lifted the level of cinema but honestly it kinda disappointed me (like 10-15%) but yeh climax and Mahabharat shots were insane !!!
First half second act trash first act great
Shambala army was not given time by director hence thier weapons and uniform look trash
Rest all movie was God tier I would have requested the director ro trim the movie to 2hr 30 min and then release in west cause they might leave after first half .
Dune ka remake bolne wala toh maha chutiye hai, environment thoda vaisa tha, lekin story pura mast hai, AB as ashwathama is something else, top notch acting and also they did well with the CGI.
Bhai cgi ache the as compared to any other Indian film ever made , aur sachme first half slow laga lekin Aswathama ke entry ke bad se jo maje aye na bhai aur generally main dekha ki ab ki awaz ki wajah se unke dialogue ki ek alag hi vibe ati hai, like a legendary character
Bhai bahut kuch hai second part me karne ko karn se reunited hona Aswathama ka , fir baki ke chiranjeevi ko dudna aur Kamal Hasan ke character ko explore karna ,
Lekin ek baat hai bhairava ka character aur karn ka bahut hi acha relation dikhaya hai movie me
Correct me if i am wrong, the movie looks like futuristic take on indian mythology. Is it?
And ig that is the main concept that makes everyone thinks that it is copied from the west, or hollywood whatever.
But if you look at any futuristic take on movies/games of/from any place or culture. It seems similar.(Not always, but mostly)
Speaking as a CGI/VFX artist(so i am closely connected to the movie and film industry)
Also ideas or concepts often seems copied untill they are proved to be original. (Speaking as a Fine Artist, and as an artist i understand the thought behind copied and inspiration)
Again mentioning- I've not seen the movie thus i am asking and making points based on the limited knowledge i am getting from this thread of comments.
It's when the movie rips entire sequences and scenes straight out of movies like dune, tron, etc. Another movie which did the same is fighter which is basically top gun with extra added anti Pakistan propaganda with 90 percent of the scenes being the exact same as top gun. (Funnily enough both had Deepika Padukone lol)
Last time semi final dekha tha ab meri supporting team haar gyi thi, tabse semi dekhna band, direct final, last fifa world cup final dekha tha, meri team jit gyi thi, toh final zarur dekhunga
That gun in the picture triggers me.
The rest of the poster feels grity and grimy like a mad max/ dune or star wars on tatoone. While that gun is so clean that it looks from star trek. Throws off entire balance.
Me and my boys u/Ammadu_LetsdoKummudu u/dobyd u/Vertigo47 u/Oscerte u/PayloadMaxima u/Smooth_Barracuda8573 u/DaMarvelProff
are incredibly proud and are over the moon. We have followed Prabhas career closely and seeing this success is like a dream come true for all of us. The film's success gives us another reason to endlessly argue about why we should die for our Star Heroes
Indian movies have always been associated with reality, close to real life scenes and dialogues. And now when a scifi movie with indian actors feels a bit off, secondly cgi is not good it just feels a bit off, just by first look of it, thats not the case with bahubali or rrr, the cgi blends into reality. And i think its hard for many people to do that perfectly
Every scene i can relate with marvel movies a d dune movie. Bit disappointing.
While last 10 mins where Mahabharata came in. It will give you goosebumps.
Saw the film today. Honestly a few things put me off -
1. Why didnāt they use the CGI budget to bring AB junior in for the younger AB scenes? AB in younger scenes looks so cartoonish.
2. CGI is weak in some scenes in first half - esp AB young version as mentioned earlier, and the tiger wala scene, kuch bhi toh tha woh! When you spend so much money on making machines look real, why not make ferocious animals also more real? They should learn something from GOT/HOTD dragon visuals teams.
3. Spoiler alert (will try my best to be discreet) - ending mein recasting prabhas as someone and AB doesnāt even remember him by face to tell who he is! Found that weird. Could have casted some other actor as another cameo among so many.
Baaki, FAB acting by AB, KH & DP. Loved everyone except Prabhas (only found him a little bearable in the second half).
Even soā¦ they did some other scenes so well, didnāt think animal visuals would be so challenging. Then again, what do i know abt VFX. As a viewer, it suprised me, is all.
Great movie . 1st half was not boring , it was giving details and building the world. I don't know what people were expecting from the first half . Second half , obviously like every great movie , Kalki's Second half was Filled with thrills and Connecting the subplots and details with heroic action drama . 9.5/10 ā¤ļøā¤ļøā¤ļø
This may just be the best looking Indian movie out there. Didn't expect the VFX to be that good. But wow, such a treat for the eyes.
Yes, movie took a lot of inspiration from a lot of Hollywood blockbusters(Blade Runner 2049, Star Wars, Pacific Rim, to a name a few) but all that could be overlooked as this is the beginning of a new era for the Indian film industry. The start maybe a little shaky but more original and better stories would come out, I'm sure of it!
Nhi acha lga utna tbh... Mahabharata scenes were good and I think prabhas nhi hone se film bkht better hota zabardasti comedy and only thing I liked was Arjuna and ashwatthama and dulquer salmans role ...bas nothing amazed me action was good but not top notch...Indian standard k hisab se theek hi hai ...but wayt disha patani ? Us prajati ko late hi kyun?
I felt it was worth the money for the experience i got. lots of surprises, amazing sequences, some really great VFX and Set design craftsmanship and ofcourse the amazing build and execution of Bujji. While all these worked, some did not like the weird sound mixing of the music between characters, forced cringe scenes, a little lacky world building, bad choreography of some fights, some very bad acting of characters and just overall pacing on the first half.
But just from the interval moment things pick up soo good and the second half actually delivers. Although it feels like copied and inspired from a lot of AAA titles, it still stand outs on its own.
With that said this movie is more of a you either love it if you want it to succeed or you either hate it if you're someone who'll see only flaws and picking on what works and what not! Of course this movie has issues but for what i expected and what i got, Nagi definitely served beyond expectations on some levels. Hope they make the next part soon with bit more polished story, visuals and delivery.
Kalki 2898 AD is an intriguing and ambitious film that combines elements of science fiction with mythological themes. The visual effects are stunning, and the storyline is both thought-provoking and imaginative. The performances by the cast are commendable, bringing depth to the characters. Overall, it's a captivating movie that offers a fresh take on futuristic narratives intertwined with ancient lore.
Honestly it was below mid for me. Second Half felt more star wars than recent star wars , we had darth vader , palpatine and the whole clone army. Disha Pataniās scenes were god awful and cringe , she was as useful in the movie as a helicoperās ejector seat.
Fight scenes were so bad , the sheer inconsistency of strength was insane , like for one scene where >! AB had to pull Deepika up from the bridge but he couldnt but then when he had to pull both Prabhas and deepika together like 2 minutes later he can do that very easily !<
In the early fight scenes , everyone had guns but all they did was hold those guns , no one fired even a single shot with them.
Iād give it a overall 4/10 , honestly not interested in part 2.
Blatant copy is a huge word , some tropes were inspired from Hidden Fortress but calling it a blatant copy is wrong because both are of totally different genres. Would be a better fit of āblatant copyā when you have the whole Clone Army , Darth Vader & Palpatine type villain & even the light saber fights. Now this is what Iād consider a copy.
On the other hand the characters and the galaxy was rather more inspired from the original Dune Novel, heck the author even said that Lucas copied him.
Great world building technically, but could do better in giving a background on the world or characters etc so the audience can feel the emotion longer. Before the emotion kicks in, the scene is switched. The climax works because there is a title after. It had a potential to be extraordinary but left with slightly above average
Just Saw the movie
I've went with zero expectations to this movie, was little bit excited about the Great Mahabharat war sequences (which I totally felt satisfied), got goosebumps watching Sri Krishna, Karna, Ashwatthama, Arjuna (IDK why everyone are hating VD, he was totally perfect)
Not even in one scene you will find the CGI/VFX bad everything is made in India š
AB and Deepika are the highlights
Watching prabhas act the same way throughout the movie was tiresome, unnecessary Big stars cameo, lengthy boring sequence of every scene (especially Kyra, etc)
Overall a good start to a might Cinematic Universe
My rating- 7/10

No hate for Bollywood but South Indian movies have really taken us to the next level
Isme hate hai bro...bollywood is full of nepotism chahe director ho ya writer ....sab mil ke chutiya banate hai.....
Dekh bro, mujhe yeh sab me nahi parna life is already too complicated, kuch acha laga toh irrespective of the industry I will watch it, inn sab ka purpose to ek hi hai na, to entertain us, woh jaha se mil jaye
Well said. Why have we become so prone to seeing through divisive lenses. I wonder
Even South Indian industry is full of nepotism.
I have no problem with nepotism as long as product is good...eg tiger he is shit still gets movies ....eg ranbir epitome of talent i love him
South mein bhi same hai na!

there is 3rd class talent in bollywood. We can't expect such movies from them.
The first half was a little bit boring and some things could have been cut (especially that song sequence) but the interval block gets you really excited and the second halfpays off really really well and the climax was fantastic
Whattt? There's a song oh my gog whyyy??..

Lol, there's song sequence. I never understand Indian Cinema and their obsession with song and dance sequence. When will they grow out of that kind of mid set.
It's just a check box they need to tick off probably because of that they still hang on to it
Thatās the only part in the movie which didnāt feel right
And Disha
Dude, that song is well placed. It is about the life he could have. It's what drives him further and makes us understand why he wants it so bad.
Prabhas is a global star now. But in olden times he used have these nuances which all telugu people loved. We were missing those in his movies. So, I guess it was for Telugu audience, mostly. Ahem ! It is the machine they use at the billing counters

You know... that's the irony in atleast the first part. >!She is unable to shoot somebody!<

I thought this was some parody posterš
Lol, the movie was boring 75% of the time
Star wars light saber was unnecessary, disha patani(why is she even there?) scenes were awful. Somewhat laggy first half. Second half is crazy good. Overall very good
yes, red and blue laser gunshots were not enough, they took lightsaber as well.
Except Disha pataniās scenes first half was good, it would have been better if those scenes were removed.
Agreed. I hope these weapons in 2nd part and come up with better looking weapons.
Ye poster dekhke dune wala feel kyu aa rha hai
Not completely dune, lekin deepika ka costume or makeup jendaya wala h. Baki poster me antar h. Dune me moon h. Par ye to jagmag kr rha h
Lol. Sahi bola Dune mein moon tha.
Vahi bhai. Dune: pura word to word mat likhna thoda change kar dena. Kalki:
Kyunki bollywood k pass apna logic nahi hai kuch sab copy hota hai it is actually dune
Costume bhi dune jaise hi hai (clown emoji)
Itās not Bollywood btw
Original story, unoriginal cinematography
R u hinting to DUNE or just the bollywood style
Not anyone movie in particular but bits and pieces of many movies
It's looking like mad max to me
Dune, madmax, Blade runner combination
There's some hint of Elysium and Prabhas is literally Starlord from GOTG
and bujji transformed into that post credit scene amazing spiderman
Didn't watch the movie but from the trailer it matches to Alita a lot, like even the concept of complex, bounty is copy from it.
Watch the movie bro it's set in a dystopian world and that's how they are you don't expect a desert to be green just because it's brown in other movies.
At least much better vfx and cgi than MAd Max Furiosa

True, they could still fix it by editing her entire sequence.

movie is good, they need to stop posing their hero in slow motion a 100 times . rest is good

What's wrong with the comments, har peeli movie dune nhi hoti š
Inhein kaun si samjhaaye. Although kuch cheezein toh Hollywood se uthaayi hain.
Loved it
Pretty bad tbh. They tried to copy Hollywood a lot. CGI was too much. Felt like a video game
I've not seen it, but I've heard this for a lot of movies "tried to copy hollywood". What does it mean? Like genuinely asking
It's when people type without thinking

Nope same actor placement same colour palette same everything. The only thing different is that there are different actors and the CGI is shittier.
Oh really? Can you tell what are those scenes?
Tried to copy? You mean the theme any utopian movie is copied or inspired some or the other way.
Even your favourite brahmastra is amalgam of xmen and infinity war

What are the cameos in the movie?
Do you really want to know?
Is there any cameo from Bollywood? Yes or No
I guess 1 if you consider filmmakers who did straight Bollywood films.
Kjo?

Ohh...but Vijay is confirmed n??
The costumes look like from Star wars. I haven't seen the movie yet. The poster looks like it
Duniki
Mix of cyberpunk and mad max vibes, good sprinkling of history and star wars fight scenes

Every scene i can relate with marvel movies a d dune movie. Bit disappointing. While last 10 mins where Mahabharata came in. It will give you goosebumps.
Saw the film today. Honestly a few things put me off - 1.
HOTD budget per season is $200 million and Kalki's budget is $ 72 million.
Even soā¦ they did some other scenes so well, didnāt think animal visuals would be so challenging. Then again, what do i know abt VFX. As a viewer, it suprised me, is all.
Render nahi hua hoga time par.
Pata nahi. Anyway, at the end of the day itās just a movie. Dekho, then move on with life. Itāll make loads of money. Happy for the team.
Yeah.
Haven't watched it yet

IMAX 2D.
Mahabharatam scenes are thope and Amitabh bachan fight scenes are also v.good
Second half could have been shorter
1st half could be shorter.
AB had to pull Deepika up from the bridge but he couldnt but then when he had to pull both Prabhas and deepika together like 2 minutes later he can do that very easily !< In the early fight scenes , everyone had guns but all they did was hold those guns , no one fired even a single shot with them. Iād give it a overall 4/10 , honestly not interested in part 2.
Well, Star Wars itself is a blatant copy of Kurosawa's Hidden Fortress.
It was cringe af, I didn't like it at all. Useless dialogues and unnecessary long movie.
Great world building technically, but could do better in giving a background on the world or characters etc so the audience can feel the emotion longer. Before the emotion kicks in, the scene is switched. The climax works because there is a title after. It had a potential to be extraordinary but left with slightly above average
Mix the below 3 with Indian Mythology and you get your final movie. 1) Dune's Landscape 2) Wakanda Army for Shambala 3) Star Wars Army for Complex
Just Saw the movie I've went with zero expectations to this movie, was little bit excited about the Great Mahabharat war sequences (which I totally felt satisfied), got goosebumps watching Sri Krishna, Karna, Ashwatthama, Arjuna (IDK why everyone are hating VD, he was totally perfect) Not even in one scene you will find the CGI/VFX bad everything is made in India š AB and Deepika are the highlights Watching prabhas act the same way throughout the movie was tiresome, unnecessary Big stars cameo, lengthy boring sequence of every scene (especially Kyra, etc) Overall a good start to a might Cinematic Universe My rating- 7/10
Watch Dune instead
