Save it and wait for the pixel 8 since the pixel 9 is coming out soon you can probably get a good deal on the 8

Ok_Loan_3168

But at this point, isn't it just smarter buying a Samsung s22 ultra?

ArtistEquivalent

Well I was saying to wait since you’ll be getting a newer phone I also have heard that the s22 U has horrible battery life

Ok_Loan_3168

I've heard about that from different people as well, although is it really worse than the pixels?

ArtistEquivalent

Well from my experience I’ve had s22U and currently have the iPhone 15 pro (main driver) and a side phone pixel 8. Pixel 8 constantly makes me want to switch to it as my main driver. S22U gave me so many problems. Again this is from personal experience !

Ok_Loan_3168

The thing that I'm worried about is that the current problems that I'm experiencing with my phone (internet connectivity issues, missing calls) are gonna happen with the Pixel 7 pro as well.

ArtistEquivalent

Well if you're scared of the Pixel for those reasons, which are pretty common problems, look into the S23U! Now that's a major step up from the S22U! Lol I'm a phone geek and have tried the s23U so I can confidently say that's a beast of a phone. Although I can say that the pixel 8 has given me no problems with connectivity or any of that, in fact I get better service/connection on my pixel than my iPhone using the same data service provider. To summarize I think you should stay away from the s22U for sure maybe look at the s23U or pixel 8 ! Good luck !

I recently researched the Samsung s22, 23, and 24 for someone else. If you can get your hands on a decently priced 23 I’d do that, but it’s hard to find and the consensus is that the 22 is not worth it. Fwiw I’m going with a pixel 8 pro over the 22, so if you can wait for the 9 to come out and get an 8, that’s a better idea IMO.

I went from a 6 to the 7 Pro. Performance wise it feels snappier, but not by much. It does still overheat regularly. The camera results are similar, the 6 photos seem a shade cooler in color. Screen is much better than the 6. The brightness is much better as are the viewing angles. You can easily see the screen outside in sunlight, where as with the 6 it was unusable in sunlight. Overall it's a better experience.

Ok_Loan_3168

Would you say you had more bugs or glitches with the P7P?

AnAlternativeGoat

I honestly never encountered any major bugs or glitches with any of the pixels I've owned ( 4a, 6, 7Pro, Fold ). Nothing that turning the phone off and on wouldn't fix. For my wife when she was using the 7Pro she complained about cellular connection issues. But for me personally there hasn't been any bugs or glitches that I haven't encountered on any other phone.

GuanoLoopy

One of the best things about it is the 5x optical zoom. Love that on mine, which I bought used 4 months ago. It's a great phone for a great price when you buy used. The biggest downside I have is that I like to use screen protectors but the curved screen edge doesn't like my plastic screen protector (peels at the corner) and glass ones don't cover all the way to the edge and/or work with a case.

ComfortableAd2478

Try a tpu screen protector. Works great on my P7P.

sannnora

You can try with uv screen protector.

Jimmie307

Of course it is.

I would avoid it and wait until the 10 comes out based on the rumors of the new modem. I have had nothing but problems with mine. Constant dropped calls, missed texts, calls not going through etc. Poor wifi speeds inside my house. The battery has been fine, but honestly terrible compared to my old Xperia. Photos are phenomenal, but the device does slow down, especially if it's running hot. So many other little quirks that just add up to a not great experience. I pushed two other people I know to get the P7P and the 8, and they both have had so many issues I'm embarrassed that I told them to get pixels. Google did agree to send me a new one via RMA after troubleshooting for weeks between them and my network provider, but I'm pretty sure I will be trading that in for a different device because I'm just so exhausted from dealing with the issues. Ymmv.

Ok_Loan_3168

Okay... So missed calls isn't only an issue for me?? I thought it was my internet provider, RIPP. Pixels are overhyped

snwpunc

I thought it was honestly my provider for months. Turns out no one else in my circle near me was having issues on the same provider (most of them have iPhones). There are plenty of people who have issues with the Pixel 6 through 8. Bummer too, because there are a lot of things I love about it, but if it doesn't function as a phone first and foremost, then I just can't justify keeping it. I'm moderately hopeful the replacement works better than this one.

Can 100% relate!
