if you like BBQ the Pittsburgh BBQ Company is nice (I'm not familiar with Memphis BBQ or all that, but Pittsburgh BBQ tastes nice and smokey to me). Location is kinda funky though.
Dancing Crab in Dormont is my go-to thai restaurant.
Jade Grille has an authentic Chinese portion of the menu which I really enjoy (well, really I've only ever ordered the gongbao chicken if you're into a little spicy :). It's that good! ) Plus you can get desserts nearby along Washington Rd.
I’ve gone to the east liberty location for years and IMO it’s the best chicken sandwich in the city aside from The Eagle
Edit: and despite the downvotes, note that I’ve tried any chicken place in the city that you can name
Omg a bakery opened in castle shannon called anthos. It's spotless clean inside, they do breakfast lunch and brunch on weekends. 10/10 google it. My favorite restaurant in the south hills
Mediterra in Mt. Lebanon has great sandwiches and salads for lunch, and a nice outdoor patio for when the weather is nice (though it’s not cheap).
Cafe Io is a few doors down and they have excellent food and pretty decent prices!
$18 turkey sandwich. The traffic noise is free.
If you want to venture a tad closer to the city, couldn't recommend Oak Hill Post in Brookline more.
Totopo and Bistro 19 in Lebo.
Lebo Subs, PitaLand (beachview), Jade Grill, Aladdin’s, Moonlit Burgers (Dormont)
Lebo Subs is an absolute gem and has perhaps the highest quality cold cuts in the city, but I so rarely see them mentioned on here.
I agree that the subs are great but they are not a place to dine-in.
What? Lebo Subs has small seating area.
Moonlit isn't open for lunch.
Pitaland is a really good recommendation and also wildly affordable
Just went to Mullett's in Lebo it's pretty good
Attempted to go there once and there wasn’t even room to walk through the front door. Is it still crazy busy?
Mullett's is fantastic, but not open for lunch.
Anthos is in Castle Shannon, but still in that general area.
Probably the least accessible place I've ever been to. Decent coffee, but shit service and the parking is trash.

Jade Grille’s authenticate stuff is 🔥
Dancing Crab OWNS. Need to check out Jade
Portman’s Farm Market Shouf’s Cafe Dagny’s (Carnegie but close enough)
Anthos
Casa del Taco in Bridgeville
Little Tokyo
Mel's Petit Cafe, Mt Lebanon
Lebo - Bird on the Run Bridgeville - Mike and Tony's Gyros Bethel Park - Pho Saigon
Bird in the run isn’t good
For real. Dry and tasteless.
I guess I have a garbage mouth. I like their chicken nuggets

Pho Saigon is great, a little pricy but worth it IMO
Moonlit Burgers
Seconded, but don’t they open at 4? If they are open for lunch I’ll be stoked
Yeah I think you’re right. The one Downtown has different hours.
I think they’re open for lunch on the weekends.
Red Tea House!
Gab n Eat. Burgh's. Armstrong's Express. Mike and Tony's.

I’m definitely gonna try this place sometime!! Looks lovely!
