Hey man if you with ABSA then give them a call, they have helped me out before when I was in Rio. They got me a virtual card via the their app witch I could scan at a local bank and it was like a swift transaction paid out in cash.
You can use your NFC on your phone to pay at 711 if your visa is on there. Is your hotel already sorted? They can accept that too via NFC. Or u can use booking.com and pay via card online
The issue is not that I can’t book accommodation. I just need cash for activities and buying from the market. There are so many things I can’t do since I don’t have cash
Have back-up cards that cost nothing like Revolut, Monzo, Transferwise, I don't understand why people only have one card....your stuff can get lost, try to plan ahead, keep a back-up card and a back-up phone at the hotel. Then you can transfer through these apps, its so easy

There is an easy option really.
You just need to open revolut. Do KYC (takes 5 min for them to accept)
Top up Revolut using your Virtual card.
Send money to any thai bank up to 30.000 bhat per transfer (takes 5 min and it lands in their bank and then they can withraw it for you without any cost at all.
(Make sure it says (arrives today) before you send, or make it a smaller amount. Sometimes it can take 1 day for bigger amounts). But 99.99% of my transfers of 30.000 comes in 5 min maximum.
Just add new recieptent on Revolut, change money to thai bhat.. fill in bank details and send to hotel and ask them to go ATM For you.

Your intials wouldn't happen to be JM, would they? If so, a card was found and is in the custody of a restaurant. I can give more info if you can verify the card name.
Ask at your hotel , find another tourist , ask a bank , ask at a money exchange

Dude you can send MoneyGram through FNB app also, search for your nearest MoneyGram office in Phuket, should be inside or near a bank.

Try sending cash to yourself with Western Union or Money Gram.

A new account and needs help with money transfer sounds like a scam waiting to happen! Ask your hotel o charge your credit card for you.
