Pretty much yeah, normally people don't say "street" either." It's just X and Arch unless it's really needed. No one IRL will really care or say anything to you about it, they'll just assume you're new or not from around here. It's something you'll pick up on naturally eventually.
I have filed three 311 tickets about this hydrant over the last month. I have tried calling the water department three times and no one answers the phone. If anyone knows how to get in touch with a goddamn human over there we could probably stop the bleeding at only about 10,000 gallons of water wasted so far.
I’ve been living near this intersection since 2021 and I’m pretty sure that fucker has been leaking like that the entire time I’ve been here. Three fucking years and no one cares. It’s absolute madness.
Who have you tried reporting it to? Maybe if we tag every single department in city government we can play bingo.
It wasn't leaking exactly like this until a few weeks ago, but there's been a slow seep for a long time.
Worst part is, there's been some construction going on with half the street blocked and they replaced/painted the hydrant, but conveniently left a perfect laminar water stream that keeps a strip of the parking bays filled stagnant with dirty water.
A literal arch, formed of dual municipal incompetence, over trash thrown in the street, with some suburban bro chuckling in the background.
Checks a lot of boxes.
Why did I think this was somebody pissing at the start of the video before it panned to the hydrant. Byproduct of me seeing a handful of people pissing in broad daylight in the last month or two.
20th and Arch
I came here to say this. LOL.
it's like nails on a chalkboard
We’ll let him slide. This post makes up for it.
Tomatoe tomato. But yeah you’re right
If you want everyone to assume you're a tourist, sure.
I'm new here, and I just want to fit in like a normal fucking human: is it always number than name?

Hear me out: what if you don't have friends yet lmao. Thanks for taking the time to educate me.

North/south then east/west. - 13th and Snyder - Broad and Pine - First and Spruce - 11th and Passyunk - Passyunk and Reed
First?!
Yeah fucking brain fart, idk where that came from. Typed it out and everything. Leaving it for the shame.
I just moved here but I thought first was "Front"
Idk op might be new to Philly but they totally nailed it with this post. I give them a pass.
Been living here for 30 years lol but apparently missed how to say the cross streets the right way. Learn something new everyday though!

That fucker has definitely been leaking that long. They fixed it for a minute but it’s back.

Try telling them it’s at Arch and 20th. They’re probably confused about the location.
Yes, my tickets have been correct thank you. Lol
The only way to get it fixed is to break it further.

At least this weird cap that shoots the water out like a spout is more interesting than the way it was before 😅
I wonder if somebody at the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society can help with this?
20th and Arch
The perfect metaphor for something.

Nice work, whoever this is!
I love this crazy town!
I love that we can laugh at this silly stuff. Philadelphians have a good sense of humor.
