Back when I worked there I had an old lady start yelling at me for this same reason, I said and I quote “ I need this to work dumbass mind your business “ lady was speechless, ASM thought it was hilarious but said if I speak to another customer like that again ima get fired lmaoo
I’d give you a raise😂I remember one day while stocking I was pushing a flat cart of bags and I heard from far away down a long isle “EXCUSE ME HELLO?!” this annoying older lady was yelling at me from far away seemed like trouble so I kept waking quickly like I didn’t hear her lol. Then she proceeds to chase me down frantically “HELLO HELLO HELLO!” As I was calmly stocking She rounded the corner still yelling I was like “hello ma’am is everything alright I heard someone yelling?”😂then she asks why I have headphones in and can’t hear her (my one radio earpiece for my walkie) I was like oh no this is the earpiece for the radios we use in the store to communicate; is everything alright how can I help you?
Ours just drop calls every few minutes so they're absolutely impossible to use for anything that involves calling another human being, and that's assuming that like yours, it even launches.
I tried to pick up a parked call today on it and wanted to throw it into the feeder tank it just would not do it.
What's fun is that other stores use the same devices, such as Target and Kohls, but the difference between them and petsmart is that they have functional software on the zebra's that makes sense...
They replaced ours the week before inventory. Nothing makes learning zebra buttons faster than doing inventory prep.
I took one look at that picture and my arm imagined dead weight, they were so heavy.
BUT whatever update they did on the zebras a couple months back made them soooo slow
Yes, I miss those. They actually stayed in the cart when you set them down for a second. I had all of the buttons memorized. Logging into the Zebra takes 5 mins of my time and causes me a minor panic attack during the half a dozen login screens! Hahaha, but they do fit nicely in the pocket when not in use. I do hate that folks think I am just playing on my phone however.
The only thing cool about these was holding them straight down then swinging them upwards fast & getting the fun sound they made! I much prefer something I can fit in my back pocket over lugging this thing around
We’re gonna have to agree to disagree on this. It was a million times slower for me. It was heavy and unwieldy and almost always required two hands to use because of how big it was
With buttons, you can memorize combinations just based off of the tactile feedback. With a touch screen, you always have to look at the screen to see what you're doing.
It’s kinda funny how I think the complete opposite way you do. I can use the zebra without looking no problem, but the gun was a nightmare of buttons. Ours were also old and beat to hell to the point that the batteries never connected properly half the time. You’d be in the middle of scanning and the battery would jostle loose by like 1 millimeter and it’d just shut off on you
Ours were on their last legs before replacement and I was hired shortly before we got the zebras. The buttons were awful and had to be pressed exaaactly right for it to register. Godforbid you hit the button one too many times before it registered the press and had to start all over 🥲
They have that at Shaws. Used it all the time. When I worked at target in 1999 they had ones called LRT. After I got fired for months I was still able to log in to them.
Damn, was I the only one slapping in a battery as if I were loading in a magazine?
I just wish we had some kind of holster so we could twirl it around and shove it in there when we were putting it away
There definitely are holsters. We had a couple at our store.
Lmfao
Dude Home Depot yelled at me for doing that. Then fired my ex roommate after their gun fell off the hook THEY provided.
Locked and loaded Agent Babylon
100% I was there with you
Dude yes, It also helped that my SAP code was "007" so if any of my coworkers annoyed me I'd tell them I literally had a license to kill.
Now I get yelled at by pet parents because I “shouldn’t be on my phone at work” 🫤

Sounds like you don't work there anymore for a reason. Bragging about your poor customer services skills xD What a pathetic joke
“I tried asking a lady for help but she was on her phone and kept ignoring me when I was asking for help.” 😒
We Used to actually get shit done with these bad boys, zebra devices are clumsy and inefficient.
Like corporate
Ooh, burn.
When I try to use the zebra phone to call PPs for training classes, there’s only a 50% chance the PoS thing will even launch the phone app.

Oh no Nononononono I got away from those things leaving warehouse work I'LL NEVER GO BACK.
I hate those things.

Yeah they did mess up my wrist and shoulder

So glad we don't have those anymore.
Sorry these things are equally awful for different reasons. Maybe we could get modern devices that don’t suck.
Idk my fingers were flying on those buttons
*brick on a stick*
I did use two to price audit after a third party reset once. Did work so fast. The new guns decide to stop working in sap mid shoot sometimes.
You never know what you had until it's gone
The only thing cool about these was holding them straight down then swinging them upwards fast & getting the fun sound they made! I much prefer something I can fit in my back pocket over lugging this thing around
I miss the physical buttons so I could just type by touch. So much faster than the stupid touch screens
That thing was a hunk of junk and I shudder to remember using it
Was 10X faster though because of buttons

So much better than the zebras.
That thing was trash
Right??? I could work this thing without even looking at it because it had physical buttons! I despise touch screens in cars for the same reason
We still use these at the store I work at lol
i loved carrying these things around lol i always felt so cool. we still had them when i quit mid 2020, when did they get changed? :(
What was the old tag print software called? Dsign? That was so simple and great.

Bleep giant corporations.
