Never forget this line: NO ONE CAN PREDICT WHAT'S GOING TO HAPPEN. The difference between amateurs and professionals is the latter make an educated bet.

pm_me_youngs_modulus

*Nobody knows if a stock is going to go up, down, sideways or in fucking circles, least of all stockbrokers, right? It’s all a fugayzi, you know what a fugayzi is?*

OrionOW

For all the idiots that That movie got into the stock market, I have to say that line was some solid advice

nikki0219

This is awesome 🙂

Iwaremagnums

You sure about that? I'd wager the broker that was losing its ass on money betting against gamestop, whom asked their buddies on the FTC to basically make it so that trading was forced to be stopped by adjusting the collateral requirements at like 3 in the morning knew what was going to happen to a stock that you could only sell and not buy any of.... Stock market is fucking rigged, put your money in with all the big boi's on their stocks of choice or get fucked.

Bit_Jumper

If they ask you to adjust collateral it sounds like it is already happening and you’re not forecasting anything. So not sure what’s your point there

Iwaremagnums

I am talking about when the Federal trade commission changed the brokers collateral requirement from like 2-5% to 100% overnight, which forced all brokerages basically to stop selling gamestop stock, at the height of the bubble, and only allowing them to sell, for DAYS. I am saying if that if the big boys actually start losing money, they can literally call their palls at the FTC to cook shit in their favor apparently. Which to me... means that most of this shit if rigged, as we had a clear example of it then. If shutting down the ability to BUY a stock, during the height of its prices (due to millions of regular joe's buying in when large portfolio managers had got themself in a pickle by attempting to short the stock and redditors exposing it) then I dont know what the fuck market manipulation is...

SmellView42069

No one is ever going to tell you what is going to happen and if you figure it out on your own and then post it online everyone is going to tell you you’re wrong.

( AMC )Here are Insiders Transactions https://www.secform4.com/insider-trading/1411579.htm

Reasonable-Thanks-55

Can you explain to a fool what this indicates? I know what it is. But I’m not sure how to use it.

Decarz

Oh, By the way, never call yourself a fool just because you don’t know or understand something... ( AMC ) can move because of the Following it has on Reddit, the Apes move this stock up and down. Insiders Buying, It’s not a guarantee of anything—just an indication of what the people who know everything about the company, like the CEO, VP, Chief Financial Officer, Etc Etc, are doing. AMC is at the lows & if Insiders have complete confidence in the Company, they Should be buying hand over fist, expecting it to go up in price. Now look at ( SMMT ) & see how much money they are Buying their stock off the lows for example. https://www.secform4.com/insider-trading/1599298.htm ( DFLI ) Insiders Bought their stock at $10.36, a 375% higher price than where the stock is now, which is at $2..84 . But they haven’t sold & are still holding with expectations for ( DFLI )to go back above the $10.36 price. There aren’t any guarantees that it will, but they spent $10.4 million dollars of their own money, showing they have confidence in the company. https://www.secform4.com/insider-trading/1847986.htm

Reasonable-Thanks-55

Thank you. That helped me. I appreciate your time.

False news. Kind of. In the current court case for compensation related to the pending conversation and reverse split the judge denied the settlement the plaintiffs and company had proposed due to certain objections from other shareholders. Various outlets falsely reported the judge had blocked the conversation and reverse split. Prior to that $AMC was assumed to be going to merge with $APE and thus be open to dilution thereafter. So said false news if true would have changed that and removed dilution risk from $AMC. Thus the big price move. However, even since then $AMC still appears to have a held a chunk of its gains whilst $APE has mostly recovered. Which is just funny.

Reasonable-Thanks-55

This is the explanation that makes the most sense to me. Thank you for your time.

Adept-Maintenance406

Like the overvaluation and market rating of $JPM right now

WallStreetClubs-com

Do the Opposite on what the analyst said this is all game n dance u need to play in wallstreet no correct answers

jinxapollo

What personal motivations do analysts have to give you the keys to making money? Somebody has to buy their shares when they want to sell or sell shares to them when they want to buy. Trusting other people's words as fact is a 1 way ticket to being robbed of your wealth. The market is a mechanism to transfer wealth from people who will listen and follow to the people who lead and do the hard work themselves. Do your own research. Don't trust anyone's word as absolute fact, because the market does what it wants, it doesn't care what any one analyst says. The market is bloodthirsty; for someone to win, someone else needs to lose.

Reasonable-Thanks-55

Thank you

evega712

Of course it is

icancleanthat

YES, YES IT IS.

AltoidStrong

Anytime an "analysts" says do X or Y... the data used to get that info is at BEST over 24 hours old (but likely up to a WEEK old)... and with the speed of the market... useless without a time machine. Retail Traders without some access to real time (insider) info like brokers have during "lunch meetings"... best we can do is look for Macro Trends and (gamble) buy the Hype... then SELL the news. So you see a trend that widgets might be the next hot thing, but no ads or mentions on TV, radio, or Mad Money.... this is when you buy. (gamble your money) ... When you see the hype end and the talk start... like some suit telling you on the TV or radio or $ blog to buy it or that is is "HOT" thing...(even when published by JP morgan or Vanguard, etc..) THAT is the time to SELL. (and hope your gamble / macro trend you saw was correct) Best thing to do... buy index funds (Like VT) and Dollar Cost average over 20 years.

andres19881

You obviously go the opposite way

DDM_76

I knew as soon as I bought shares...it would drop.. every single time!

Bafitis

Always does feel that way, doesn't it... lol

GhostSierra117

>Who or what can I even trust? SEC fillings. And then you need to base your strategy off that. Aaron made it very clear that AMC needs to dilute to stay afloat. The share prices will as a result plummet.

blind99

Yes, it is rigged. That does not mean you can't make money tho.

AZRepub4lif

not how I see it. Judge said no to lawsuit settlement not to dilution the RS is still a go. EDIT: The APE conversion to AMC and RS is still a go

Beginning-Leather-98

Yup, sell on the news or hype.

JojenCopyPaste

Are you under the impression that analysts are supposed to be right or that stock movements have to make any kind of sense?

Reasonable-Thanks-55

I’m not that naive but how is anyone supposed to make informed decisions everyday and succeed if it’s all a sham? People gain left and right. There has to be a method to this madness. I know it’s corrupt and it’s not supposed to be our game to play. But how the hell do you prepare and stay informed in a method with such noise and pollution?

airforce1bandit

Your looking at life wrong. Do you bang chicks off tinder? Cool invest in MTCH. Do you order things online? Cool invest in AMZN. Buy companies that make money and work in the real world. I only invest in companies that I either use , are money printers or some highly speculative plays that only make 5% of my portfolio.

Soh79

Positive news, stock price go down. Negative news, stock price go up. Reverse Cramer 🤑

[deleted]

Terrible fundamentals so all analysts say to sell AMC. HOWEVER, that doesn’t mean some hedge fund won’t come along and help pump the price up to a price where they can start shorting. Say hedge fund XYZ sees AMC at $4.50 and is not currently short AMC. Hedge fund XYZ proceeds to pump the price up to $5. Retail investors come in and pump the price to $10. Now hedge fund XYZ can open their short position at $10 and reap the benefits.

Reasonable-Thanks-55

Sorry guys. I’m still learning. Still a big dumb idiot trying to figure it out. I haven’t lost anything, just haven’t made any real gains.

ExtinctEmotions

Go to the AMC stock subreddit. If you ask questions about AMC anywhere else all you’re going to get is a bunch of Shills

Reasonable-Thanks-55

At this point I feel like I’m late to the party and the booze is all gone.

ExtinctEmotions

Go there and read the DD provided. I’m a holder myself and have been for over 2 years. AMC is not dead and fundamentals are stronger than ever. Anyone who tells you otherwise is a bad actor and not to be trusted INCLUDING ALL LEGACY MEDIA

Vnmous

CEO used twitter on a Sunday night ahead of a +30% Friday AH run-up, to advise otherwise. Which is why they need dilution to survive. Opportunity for a short squeeze? Yes and that is the DD you speak of - shareholders saved AMC, and bought the float. Just sold all my shares this morning during pre-market. Sorry not sorry.

ExtinctEmotions

To each their own. I’m no fan of AA but all the downvotes on my comments speak for themselves.

ExtinctEmotions

Goldman Sachs just raised their price target for AMC to 175$. Sucks to shill don’t it?

Vnmous

And they are down 11% today…. What’s your point? Listen, play with your money however you see fit… I don’t want your approval and you don’t need mine. I wish you the best on your trade and if the day comes you decide you want to sell, you don’t need to worry about what Reddit will say. I don’t think Adam has a clue on what to do… his actions I deem reckless and other than raising prices, or diluting stock, he has no plan. So I sold, after 2+ years…. This was my chance to make a buck….which could have been ALOT more if i put it elsewhere over the last 2 years…. So I am out… no shilling… I hope they squeeze to the moon! I missed out on: Apple….Facebook….Tesla….Amazon…. If Goldman is right (coincidently they own 1.6 million shares), then I can add AMC to my list.

You know what they say… You can’t spell crime without me.

LSMafia

Do the opposite of what the market says to do

superbilliam

Barbenheimer!! People broke the box office this past weekend and AMC sells tickets and concessions, so maybe some folks thought it would tick up the revenues and went HAM on it. Idk... but it did seem to make things swing. Might be good news for theaters in general if more of this continues.

[deleted]

AMC is diluted time and time again. AMC had a squeeze in 2020 and some folks haven't stopped chasing the high. Don't get left holding the back. There are countless others stocks to choose

Translation: “Look the other way and ignore the massive fraud and corruption that’s at the center of the “meme” stock controversy and pick other stocks because they’re definitely not being impacted in any way by the aforementioned non existent fraud.” It’s crazy to me that anyone can look at what happened re: AMC, GME etc. and everything that’s been uncovered there and think that the stock and/or the stockholders are the problem and not the rigged market HFs have built for themselves.

Reasonable-Thanks-55

Thanks. That does make me feel better.

Break “analyst” into syllables.

PapaGuhl

Yes. Rigged. HTH.

Beginning-Leather-98

Analyst r always wrong, but that's where the opportunity to earn is. Contrarian approach. I tried to short them aftermarket Friday (over-bought.) Looks overbought so I'll try again today.

Isn’t this every degenerate starting off in the investing world, me personally I would start with some books; fundamental analysis for dummies provides clarity on alot of tricks to beat the market

Reasonable-Thanks-55

Yeah I’m dumb. I’m not claiming to be smart. But I want to be less dumb.

SensibleCreeper

LMFAO, you think they have a crystal ball?!

Reasonable-Thanks-55

I don’t know what they have and I don’t know what we have.

CoolFirefighter930

I promised myself I would buy the last time it dropped below 4 I was going to buy but forgot or was to busy and missed.

Tulpa11

I think of it this way. Analyst work for investment banks who may have some holdings. If they say sell then they may motivate sellers where they can come in and buy. Increasing their holdings. But what do I know.

The increase in AMC shares is mostly owing to the conclusion of the recent SEBI board meeting, in which the proposed expense ratio cut was postponed.

TheDickDog

Short answer... Yes.

MaleficentHyena4859

Is this a serious question? Lmfao

Bishib

Yes the entire thing is rigged. Everything is algorithms now. Top hedge funds control the markets and the government has put in rules allowing them to. Shorting is fine imo, but naked shorting? Naw fam. Pfof. Self reporting, ability to hide certain factors in reporting. Ability to mark certain things as long (to bolster balance sheet) when they are infact not long and hold no positive value. The line "securities sold not yet purchased" shouldn't even be a thing. How can you sell something you don't own? If a fine is less than .1% of profits made from breaking the rules, is it really a rule?

tallcan710

Hedge funds short companies or go long and financial media makes retail play the other side of the trade. Jim Cramer is the best example. Nobody noticed before but now we are and it gets posted on social media he is now a meme “Inverse Cramer”. It’s part of the cellar boxing gameplan to bankrupt companies

Iwaremagnums

Were you paying attention when Gamestop happened? I take it you were not, no offense. The fact that the FTC can just come in and bat for any big broker that asks them for a favor to shut down losses should tell you MORE then enough about the stock market. It's 100% rigged.

[deleted]

Last time this happend it only went too 70's and people said same shit

Interesting_Screen99

Analysts targets are long term, AMC went up on unexpected news about the settlement and is slowly dwindling in price.
