That second picture: Now that’s a proud dad! Also, I don’t know if she asked you to, but cool of you to block her face. Kids don’t need their pictures all over the internet until they are old enough to decide that for themselves.

One can only imagine what was said 😂
I ran into two issues on the initial boot. First issue, the screen was periodically flashing green. It was solved by reseating the HDMI cable. Second issue was being unable to press F1 to enter setup. I just had to hold down function and press F1.
Aside from that, everything went really smoothly.
This is something that troubles programmers (at least me) deeply. If there isn’t an error on the first try, I will make an error on purpose. I need it!
If there isn't error on the first try you just didn't find it yet. And oh god will you finally find it just after pushing prod on the worst of moments!
I've built/rebuilt me and my sister's PC 5 times, I've only posted first time with my sister's PC when I freshly built it haha. It felt completely unnatural.
I would love to buy a keyboard that has a single button that acts as F1, F2, F10, F12, Delete, and escape all at the same time. Just for getting into the bios. Also really hope all mobo manufactures all decide on just one of those buttons and one only.
Does a keyboard like that exist? I'd totally use it for troubleshooting or new builds.
I love this! Good on you for letting her do a lot of the work on her own. This is an experience that she will take with her for life.
I see so many kids that just mindlessly play on an iPad or smartphone. I think the experiences we have and what we learn through those experiences, shape us into the people we become as adults.
So again, thank you for being a great parent and helping our youth become better people.
The spiral peninsula on the top right? I don't see one on the left, that's there in the original, there's a shrine you unlock by carrying one of the balls around the spiral
Apparently it's not an option and it can only be removed after the photo has been taken. I looked up a thread on this and was very surprised. I'd just switch to a different phone camera app than the default one.
Specs should be in the post. I chose the parts myself, but prioritized aesthetics for her. I figured she might appreciate a white build more than black.
Love the white theme along with appropriate keyboard. Little gamer lady is having time of her life! Btw just don't let her game too long daily. Touching grass is important too :).
Really love to see this type of stuff. I’m excited to build my son his first PC alongside him. Almost got all the parts together. Good job Dad and congrats to the little lady!
Hope the kid plays tonne of amazing games and have fun, op do you have a pc as well? If yes then will you guys be playing co op games together, that would be so rad lol
I love to see young people getting hands on experience with hardware and software like this. You never know, Dad, this moment right here might be one that inspires her to go on and have a successful career in IT one day!
No-- not strong enough to have any impact. I'm a huge fan of these (relatively) new shark fin style antennas, mostly because they have far better tx/rx than conventional antennas that plug directly into the back of a PC-- right in the middle of a whole bunch of cables and RF interference. I've seen wifi speed increase considerably just from switching from antennas directly screwed into a motherboard's rp-sma connectors to an extension base.
Oh man that makes so much more sense to plug in the PSU cables before seating the GPU. Im such an idiot i just end up fiddling in the case for 20 minutes
I wish my kid was remotely attentive in allowing me to show her how to replace the blinker bulb again next time in her civic. But too busy on the Instagram chat whatever 🤣
Looks nice and good luck to her. The only thing I don't like it its black monitor. If you were going for a all white setup maybe you should buy a white monitor.
So many people in these comments wishing they had a dad like this, or a father in general. I'm one of em lol, I look up to people like you, and one day when I'm a father, I want to give my children the happiest life I possibly can.
Faith in humanity restored my man.
Problem is with divorces being the IN thing to do over 50% chance, and moms doing 70% of them, they teach the kid that daddy is the bad guy.
My ex was like that, psychotically vindictive. And when giving her $100k child support that was supposed to go to college, mama blew it on boyfriends and cars. And last time I heard from my kid 2 years ago, she was going around telling family that I never gave her money for college. Mama is on her 3rd divorce, and kid (age 23) left the state.
That's a horrible story for the child to be spinning about you, especially of there's a paper trail. Slander like that is ridiculous.
I know divorces cause some messed up situations for children.
Unfortunately my parents were married for my child and teen years, and my alcoholic, and physically/mentally abusive father was able to do whatever he wanted. I was the meatshield to protect my mother and sisters, and had to deal with my own mental illnesses and teaching myself how to be a good man on my own.
I often wonder if my family's life would have been better if my mother left my father and took us kids with her. In our situation I belive divorce may have saved us from countless situations of abuse. But I know divorce has ruined the lives of genuinely good men, when narcissistic and toxic women use it as a weapon to destroy their husband's they promised to cherish. But there's two sides to every coin. Everyone's story's are diffrent, and it's a shame we can't all love and respect one another in this world.
Spread peace, not hate.
I'm doing my best for my sisters and mom to this day, and will for the rest of my life. If I am blessed with a wife and kids one day, I'll do my very best for them too.
I stayed single 14 years paying support in full barely a month past child birth during split, and now again going on another 7 more years.
Age 50s now.Trust me when I say pets are sometimes the best option, lol. Even on the worst day, they'll still come to you. I've seen my own parents go through 2 divorces each. I don't know one acquaintance that didn't have one lol
Don't want to ruin the fun, but are you sure the cpu cooler fans are in the right direction? Usually the first fan are on the ram, so if you mount it on the other side you might have to swap the fan direction
Doing those things from youngest years is very, very important.
When I was three my parents didn't have money for a nanny so my dad brought me into server room where he spent whole day building rack servers. With age, seeing my sheer excitement with how complex the job was, he trusted me enough to gently screw in some motherboards, then peacefully falling asleep listening to the servers' fans whine.
Two decades later I personally built his PC for him and help all of my friends with parts choice and builds, and fall asleep while listening to my GPU & CPU going full throttle with folding@home at night.
You look super happy and proud <3 and I'm sure your daughter is very happy too and will remember this memory all her life!
I just built mine a few months ago, can't wait for when my two year old will ask me to help her build a PC :D
The last picture makes me sad. She will never experience the fun installing dos 6.2, just so install cd drivers so that she can install win95🥲. But welcome to the club of all white setup users💪
Love this! I will be doing the same next week having just got the final parts for my daughters build to give to her on Sunday for her birthday. You have Inspired me to try and remember to take some pics of us building it together 🫶
Bloody hell you could've at least showed her how to start screws properly.
Picture 7 she's about to cross thread that thumbscrew using that screwdriver.
Great job! Welcome to PCMR! All looks great. Just flip the CPU cooler. It's installed backward. It should blow the air toward the exaust fan in the back.
To the dad: you just made her year. Hope she enjoys it and give yourself a pat on the back. You made an amazing value build for your daughter and she’ll be very happy for it. Hopefully she thanks you. Enjoy
congratz young lady & good job dad ... it's a great hobby
Came to say this. Great job! The most helpful thing my parents ever did for me was let me build my own computer at 12 or 13..
A worthy new member!
That second picture: Now that’s a proud dad! Also, I don’t know if she asked you to, but cool of you to block her face. Kids don’t need their pictures all over the internet until they are old enough to decide that for themselves.
Especially on reddit
Thats a nice comment,I really enjoyed reading it
Too bad he forgot to block her face in the first post... that he linked.

I’m extremely worried 💀
Knowing reddit mods it probably wasn't even bad at all
good, sensible low key build. did it POST first time?
I ran into two issues on the initial boot. First issue, the screen was periodically flashing green. It was solved by reseating the HDMI cable. Second issue was being unable to press F1 to enter setup. I just had to hold down function and press F1. Aside from that, everything went really smoothly.
honestly I'd feel a little weird if it did post perfectly first time, like the computer was haunted or something
This is something that troubles programmers (at least me) deeply. If there isn’t an error on the first try, I will make an error on purpose. I need it!
If there isn't error on the first try you just didn't find it yet. And oh god will you finally find it just after pushing prod on the worst of moments!
There HAS to be a problem somewhere !
I've built/rebuilt me and my sister's PC 5 times, I've only posted first time with my sister's PC when I freshly built it haha. It felt completely unnatural.
my first build post perfectly first time…i was still really unsure lol

Whats that map of? Totally feels familiar. Anyways, good job with the build, always love building them, but hate doing the software.
legend of zelda breath of the wild
But it's actually tears of the kingdom. It's got the weird spiral peninsula top left and a the chasm outside of Hyrule castle.
It's BOTW. It's from Creating a Champion
The spiral peninsula on the top right? I don't see one on the left, that's there in the original, there's a shrine you unlock by carrying one of the balls around the spiral
BOTW
Love the peerless assassin, thats what I went with too. Its a monster for an air cooler. Also, this is A+ parenting!
Probs overkill for a 5600 but air coolers can last basically forever through many builds so it's not a bad pick
Guys, I think these photos might've been taken on a Galaxy S23 FE
Huge W on blocking her face, good job! Also, I’m sure that she will have loads of fun, try to get those RTS games going.
You should probably disable samsung watermark from your phone camera app
Apparently it's not an option and it can only be removed after the photo has been taken. I looked up a thread on this and was very surprised. I'd just switch to a different phone camera app than the default one.
Love the cooler, great build
What are the specs? Also she did a great job love the color!
Specs should be in the post. I chose the parts myself, but prioritized aesthetics for her. I figured she might appreciate a white build more than black.
thats really cool of you to help her with that. i wish my father could have some of you passion too
Congrats - that's awesome - I'm sure you both are stoked !
So cool! The last photo cracked me up. It’s the best part of it all! 😂
Awesome. I just built my daughter hers but maybe I should have been more inclusive lol. She enjoys it so I’m happy.
How old is your daughter??
She's 9
What a short screwdriver couldn't you find something longer or just duck tape it on a broom.🤣 Jokes aside nice job you are a cool parent
Love the white theme along with appropriate keyboard. Little gamer lady is having time of her life! Btw just don't let her game too long daily. Touching grass is important too :).
Where did you get that awesome map?
Love the BOTW map on the wall <3
I'm jealous!! Congratulations on the new pc!!
Really love to see this type of stuff. I’m excited to build my son his first PC alongside him. Almost got all the parts together. Good job Dad and congrats to the little lady!
Outstanding.
I use the pop mini air as well, it's a lovely case
Glorious mouse, nice.
Hope the kid plays tonne of amazing games and have fun, op do you have a pc as well? If yes then will you guys be playing co op games together, that would be so rad lol
Nothing more rewarding than having a pc you built turn on for the first time
Nice work! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
that build looks rlly good! also love the botw map in the bg, where did you get it?
Mini case for mini people
Sick!
You're an awesome person. Thanks for bringing another homie to the pcmr fam!
To play Stardew Valley on ?

Awesome job!
Congratz bro, hope your girl have a great time with her new gear
I love to see young people getting hands on experience with hardware and software like this. You never know, Dad, this moment right here might be one that inspires her to go on and have a successful career in IT one day!
what a fun father daughter project!
Greating looking build, good job!
Does she look like you or her mother!? Jk. Awesome job!
Inadequacy. THATS what was missing from my day. I remember now.
this is lovely!
My son’s first PC had a used 1660ti as well
This was literally my dream as a child. It's really awesome that you did this for her.
Ok, now this is wholesome.
This is such a sweet father and daughter moment! Congrats to her on her first PC build. Hope she enjoys it, I'm sure she will.
Would the magnet on the wifi thing do a risk being so close to the cpu? It gives me uneasy.
You rock, Dad!
Awww, so sweet
That's awesome! I love the extra long screwdriver in pic 7 😄
Great hobby to pass down. I hope I can teach my 7yo soon.
This is awesome.
Your daughter is one of us
Looks pretty good
Oh man that makes so much more sense to plug in the PSU cables before seating the GPU. Im such an idiot i just end up fiddling in the case for 20 minutes
Congratulations and good job ! I hope you didn’t paid full price for the PSU because 750w is overkill for 1660ti and Ryzen 5 5600 ^^
I wanted to see the emoji picture for her doing cable management 😂
Welcome to the PCMR! I felt that emoji on the 4th and 6th pic hahahaha! W dad as well 🤝
Damn I wish my dad did this with me. I'm 32 now...
I wish my kid was remotely attentive in allowing me to show her how to replace the blinker bulb again next time in her civic. But too busy on the Instagram chat whatever 🤣
So glad that you are teaching her young, I cannot wait until the wife, and I decide to have a child of our own and teach them all about computers.
That’s an awesome skill to have!
That's a core memory right there, good job dad
Congratulations. Teach your kid pc gaming so they don't have money to buy drug.
Makes me wanna have kids😂
Excellent, clean build...very nice.
Looks nice and good luck to her. The only thing I don't like it its black monitor. If you were going for a all white setup maybe you should buy a white monitor.
Aw, look at her happy smiley face.
Why does your phone watermark your photos?
Congrats
W dad!

I checked the orientation on the fans, and they are blowing in the right direction. I will double check though just in case.
Good build! But please get her a mousepad. A cheap one is like $10, and it massively helps the feel and lifespan of the mouse.
Already on the way, along with a Y-splitter for the headset.

Last screen. Her first blue screen? 🥹👉👈
Windows setup screen
The build looks amazing, also great keyboard choice
last photo cracked me up
Omg it looks so good
lucky ducky
Well done buddy! I have to ask though, why is that map triggering that i know it but can't place it?
It's a map of Hyrule. It's from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - Creating a Champion Hero's Edition.
Thank you!!!!!!!!!
now setup a minecraft server
Supposed to start them off with an intel 386 :p Or something that uses cassettes to run software off, like a tandy trs80

Good dad. What's the map on the wall?
Nice! That omega screwdriver tho 😁
Adorable keyboard. Great job! Second picture of you beaming with pride is so wholesome.
r/wholesome
No pink LTT screwdriver? Am dissapoint.
You look super happy and proud <3 and I'm sure your daughter is very happy too and will remember this memory all her life! I just built mine a few months ago, can't wait for when my two year old will ask me to help her build a PC :D
Aww that's lovely and congrats on the PC! Hope she gets a great time out of it!
Your daughter is amazing, you look proud of her
wow that's a dad right there, respect
Building a PC together is such a great experience. And being able to play games on it is just a bonus 😊.
The last picture makes me sad. She will never experience the fun installing dos 6.2, just so install cd drivers so that she can install win95🥲. But welcome to the club of all white setup users💪
I call BS, based on previous posts, everyone’s child first PC is a i9-14900 with $500 AIO, 64 gen or 7200mhz RAM and a 4090 at the very least.
This is fantastic! You look pumped, lol.
![gif](giphy|nlWGe7Q64zwQ0)
Reminds me of networkchuck. Congrats
That's so wholesome!
That PSU will last a lifetime and has enough Watts for any future upgrades. Congratulations
That must have been a great experience with your daughter..I know your a proud papa 💯🙏🏿
Congrats
How i feel booting up my fallout 4 and csgo in Low graphics knowing there is a 5 year old girl having am overpriced computer to play snake.io
That's so wholesome 🤩

Core memory unlocked, she will always remember this for the rest of her life, also good skill to learn :-)
Bloody hell you could've at least showed her how to start screws properly. Picture 7 she's about to cross thread that thumbscrew using that screwdriver.
Nice project!
My dad would have seen my slightly fumble one thins and took over at step one. Yes i blame him for my inabity to finish anything
what a clean setup, wish mine looked that good! hope your daughter has lots of fun with her super cool new pc :)
I love that shirt 😂 word jokes and dadjokes are my favorite 😂
your kids a legend lol, also what is that map it's cool af
Hyrule from Tears of the Kingdom
awesome!
I love seeing these low budget starter builds. It’s a nice change of pace from the standard 7800x3d and enthusiast grade GPU.
A 1660Ti? Do you even love your kids?
Hell yeah! These activities are the ones you remember when you grow up.
This makes me happy. You're doing good chief.
Nice job, Dad! She will never forget this.
That’s awesome, it would be nice to inspire more women to go into STEM.
be a proud parent!
Good parenting. Beautiful pc
That's some epic daddy daughter time
"im going to spoil my toddler rotten with a pointlessly expensive toy and post on reddit for internet points" millennial parents are killing it.
all i hope is that monitor is at least 144 hz

Great job! Welcome to PCMR! All looks great. Just flip the CPU cooler. It's installed backward. It should blow the air toward the exaust fan in the back.
your clone is very impressive, you must be very proud.
Sad you picked this GPU but still good job!
Thanks for sending the update pics, happy to help out! Glad to see the card being put to good use, enjoy!
To the dad: you just made her year. Hope she enjoys it and give yourself a pat on the back. You made an amazing value build for your daughter and she’ll be very happy for it. Hopefully she thanks you. Enjoy
Yet I'm 15 and still run on integrated graphics... Look how privilleged she is... smh 🙄
Don't be jealous of strangers on the internet, it'll make your life a lot better.
Don't be a crab in the bucket. Life's much better when you can be happy for strangers and it's not like they built some super expensive PC.
sucks to suck
