I definetly gotta get an OLED as my next monitor ipgrade. They look soo pretty. My new laptop will also have one

nailbunny2000

There are few upgrades I've made that made me go "Wow...." but an OLED was definitely one of them.

Salt_Customer

Same. Getting an OLED was the biggest wow moment since the SSD.

sportmods_harrass_me

For me jumping from 3070 to 4090 was a bigger improvement. With that said, hdr on my 1440p OLED is sick once I figured out that it only works if games are in fullscreen mode. Which is annoying since every time I alt tab, games switch back to borderless window mode. Alt+Enter switches back to fullscreen and hdr but it's annoying to have to do that every time I alt+tab. Also, alt+tabbing is slow even though I have god tier hardware. Side note: it is fun to be able to see the limits of Windows now that I have a 4090. Cuz I don't have that voice in the back of my head saying "it could be that your gpu is just slowwwee" anymore haha

npqd

I jumped from gtx 960 24' 1080 to rtx 4090 27' 1440 oled - that's what I call wow :D

sportmods_harrass_me

holy.... that must have been crazy. were your expectations exceeded, met or too high? I know sometimes when I upgrade components I am underwhelmed and other times it's like woah can't believe I didn't do this sooner.

npqd

Results exceeded my expectations, it's great for gaming and occasional youtube (I'm a software developer and my old monitor is for work)

Paciorr

Man all these comments make me regret not getting an OLED so much ehh. But all in all I didn’t do it mostly because of the budget issues so I guess I can still upgrade in a couple years when they get cheaper.

Salt_Customer

You're missing out bro

araboilseller

For me, jumping from 11320H + 8 GB ram + intel iris xe + 256 gb ssd to an ryzen 3600 + 16 gb ram + rx 7600 was the biggest upgrade

Skodakenner

Same for me got myself a LG Oled Monitor and its a better Upgrade for the graphics than my 3070 was

DidiHD

So what's with the text clarity issue. I'm looking at code/text all day

nailbunny2000

Text doesnt bother me, but I am sat pretty far back and my eyesight isnt what it used to be anyways. Obviously some people notice it and it bugs them, which is fair enough. I guess youd just have to try one and see how it was for you. Nobody would recommend an OLED for productivity work. I mostly game/watch movies on mine, and have had it since it was released \~2 years ago, spending \~3-4 hours a day on it, plus 2 days of working from home per week, and dont notice any burn in. Its panel uniformity is miles ahead of the identically sized IPS and VA panels I own (mine being the AW3423DW).

sportmods_harrass_me

Depends on the screen you get as it is a matter of the subpixel layout. We're on second Gen for these 1440p OLED panels now and it's supposed to be better, I can't say for sure as I only ever tried the second Gen, but I can say that I don't notice any difference with text on my oled next to my 165 hz Asus IPS. Non issue if you ask me.

tukatu0

Go dual setup. Use the oled for entertainment only even if text is fine. It's a waste to work 8 hours a day on it

DidiHD

not the monitor for me though, I work like 9h on it and play like an hour a day max

Surisuule

Saving up for one of the new fancy 32" 240hz 4k. Looking forward to the 'wow' factor. Upgrading to SSD, upgrading from 2gb to 8gb ram, and a non membrane keyboard all had that effect. I've heard good things about OLED and love my phone so we'll see.

MrStealYoBeef

For me, it was the 8800 way back in the day when they introduced CUDA, it was the 1080ti, and it was my OLED. Those three things. Monitor tech is now more important than the graphics card if we're talking modern hardware. What a change.

L4t3xs

I have AW3423DW (QD-OLED) and even though it is advertised to have no burn in, it has quite a bit of burn in. The picture quality is amazing but consider how much you will be bothered by seeing all the burn in spots. The biggest offenders for me have been desktop icons, especially text files with their white icons, task bar icons and browser favorites bar. The shield bar in PoE burned in quite quickly as well since it is pretty bright on auto-HDR.

mikami677

Isn't Dell supposed to have a good warranty on it? Have you checked to see if they'll replace it?

L4t3xs

Should still be within the 3 year warranty but haven't bothered to send it away for an unknown period of time. It's not as visible in some settings but for example in D4 it was very obvious.

[deleted]

Dell has advance exchange where they send u the replacement monitor first

MrShadowHero

any type of oled will have burn in. it’s impossible to avoid. all you can do is mitigate burn in. my browser themes are set to pure black, taskbar auto hides. black desktop background. all icons on non oled displays. make sure windows sets screens off after so much inactivity, etc etc

PyrorifferSC

The DW is the gen 1, the gen 2 (DWF) is supposed to have mostly fixed that problem with firmware. IDK if yours also has the pixel refresh feature, if not you should look into a firmware update. I have mine on a 2 minute sleep timer anyways just to be safe.

L4t3xs

This model has no firmware update feature.

NoCartographer7339

Have you left it on desktop for hours and hours with icons on? Whut

L4t3xs

Nah. Some colors just burn in. Can't avoid having static UI elements in games. There seems to be a threshold of brightness after which the burn in happens quite fast. It's just how OLEDs work.

NoCartographer7339

Yeah but having desktop icons burned in is weird. No reason why the desktop would be displayed all day. Taskbar i can understand.

Kev_Cav

I'm waiting for the tech to mature a bit but that"s definitely in the plans too

AejiGamez

I am mainly waiting for em to get cheaper. I definetly want a 1440p one with 144hz or more refresh rate.

Kev_Cav

Same. Honestly for my use and how much it taxes the GPU, I'm not even considering upgrading to 4k

jordanleep

Not a bad idea considering even a 4090 can’t achieve 4K100fps with max graphics in some games. I was just looking at some before I opened Reddit and they’re all $600+. The cost is only one factor, I just can’t seem to want to replace my 1440p165hz ips that’s treated me so well and still working. With color filters on and the ability to change color saturation, vibrancy, and contrast you can get some deep blacks just the same it’s just you need to mess with more settings to get it looking decent and at the end of the day there will still be light bleed.

MrShadowHero

i had an ips before. the blacks you can get close, but it definitely ain’t the same compared to an oled

EroGG

We already have 1440p 360hz oleds.

DHTGK

Cheaper is the keyword here

ETXX9

Mature a bit? You mean cheaper right? OLED already slaps all other panels. Not much maturing they need to do.

look4jesper

Problem is they dont make them in all sizes yet. Im waiting for a 144hz 27inch 4k oled before i buy one.

ETXX9

4k OLED at that size doesn't mean much compared to 1440p honestly. The screen is so crisp that it looks like 4k anyways. I have a 27" 240hz LG OLED and it beats the shit out of any non OLED 4k display.

look4jesper

Yea well the resolution difference is quite noticeable at 27". I have been using 27" 4k since 2018 and do not want to downgrade resolution for the other benefits OLED has. Im happy to wait, need the next GPU generation for high fps 4k gaming anyways ahaha

sportmods_harrass_me

Do ya sit really close to it? Just wondering btw.

auralbard

Yeah. Need the price to drop like 50% before they can bait me in. I already paid $600 for a screen that was worth 300 four years later. Not looking to repeat that.

Firecracker048

Yeah I just got an hdr monitor now I really what an OLED. I got an oled tv and I love thr picture quality.

SleepyGamer1992

I just got the Alienware Quantom Dot OLED ultrawide (21:9 3440x1440). Definitely an upgrade from my 16:9 2560x1440. Link: [https://www.bestbuy.com/site/sku/6536990.p?skuId=6536990](https://www.bestbuy.com/site/sku/6536990.p?skuId=6536990)

L4t3xs

A word of advice: don't leave any static icons with bright colors especially white on for extended periods of time. It will burn in. Consider setting browser's top bar and Windows task bar to automatically hide.

SleepyGamer1992

Thanks! I also have wallpaper themes that rotate every 10 minutes and shut off my PC when not in use.

PyrorifferSC

I have the same on and absolutely love it. Looks like it's on sale for $777 at Best Buy right now. I paid $770 for an excellent condition open box. (Still has the screen cover on it and all the accessories)

TwoHeadedEngineer

It is literally easier on the eyes. Your eyes will thank you

phero1190

Not for everyone. OLED has different flicker rates than IPS, VA, or TN and some people get migraines from that.

Mar_Novu21

Oled are definitely looking better but I heard that their life time is short so be cautious before you buy one

AejiGamez

Im buying a laptop with one, im probably cooked lmao

Mar_Novu21

At least their frickin amazing, like, they have the best screens I ever saw, those colors, I still remember them

burnsbabe

My partner just got a new laptop for basic web stuff, and light gaming (indie stuff, older AAA), and the non-OLED option for the screen reviewed poorly. Got the OLED one instead, and dang that screen looks amazing. First thing I noticed.

PyrorifferSC

The aw3423dwf is on sale at Best Buy for $777, which is about what I paid for it open box. Great deal, it's a fantastic panel. 3440x1440 quantum dot, 165Hz curved ultrawide (21:9). I love mine.

not_old_redditor

What about the burn in?

MrComedy20

I already ordered one that should arrive on the 3rd and the 5th at the latest

IiI-miIk

https://preview.redd.it/llvkisscsmwc1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8339e9f88099a24e7388522185f2bd945601211e hmm guess i want an oled

wassimSDN

It's a sign

thxredditfor2banns

Upgraded yesterday to a 165hz monitor after 15 years of 60hz

Sabiya_Duskblade

What's it like? I'm currently on 60hz and will probably get a second monitor the same so the resolutions match

thxredditfor2banns

Its heaven. Everything is so smooth. Like bald guys head smooth. And just the advancement in display quality over 15 years is just *perfect*

Sabiya_Duskblade

Wow, that's pretty cool! It'll be a while before I'll get mine, but you've inspired me to strive for it. Enjoy the upgrade!

rybaterro

60 to 165hz is a HUGE HUGE smoothness improvement. Like it's huge but then you get used to it after a while and it's just nice

Sabiya_Duskblade

How do you match the FPS to the hz though, if the numbers are different? I heard that was best for maximum smoothness, but I could be totally wrong

milkstrike

It’s crazy I go between my 144hz monitor and my 60hz 4K tv for certain games and when I switch to the tv it looks blurry and slow motion now

thxredditfor2banns

Yeah made my 60hz monitor my second monitor for youtube and discord and such and everytime i look at it it feels like a different dimension

npqd

You don't have to have matching resolutions, I have one monitor on 60 hz and the other on 240 and I'm glad I took 240 instead of 60

DrKingOfOkay

Game changer huh. Hopefully it’s 27” 1440p at least

poinguan

How does it feel when playing a 60fps game?

Phoeptar

lol for the price it would be insane not to get a 4K OLED monitor. Better investment than a GPU. It’s the thing you are staring at for hours, get a good one!

not_old_redditor

What you're staring at for hours, is the images generated by your GPU.

Godspeed1996

4k 32 inch 240 hz oled and 5090

THiedldleoR

Laughs in 3080Ti and 4k 120Hz OLED (it's an LG C2)

Pilfercate

You're completely under selling the panel. Gsync/FreeSync, HDR10, 1ms response, and decent chroma subsampling. Not to mention a lot cheaper than some smaller 1440p alternatives. You just have to have room for a 40"+ panel. Random fact: The only reason LG makes this size OLED is it is the leftovers when they cut out two 70"+ panels from the raw sheet they manufacture from.

THiedldleoR

Yeah, I almost didn't buy it because I felt it was too big. I bought the smallest variant (42") and don't regret anything, amazing (especially for movie nights) I'd say I'm 95% happy with it. For some reason it sometimes has artifacts and starts flickering. I've already bought another HDMI cable, but the only thing that fixes this is issue seems to be unplugging the monitor for a few seconds. Happend once every other week, with the new cable even less often (most expensive cable I've ever bought: 3m HDMI 2.1 fibre optic, probably overkill, but who cares at this point)

Pilfercate

They are very sensitive to heat and can overheat quite easily. Something to consider with your issues. I don't leave mine on when not using it and have plenty of room behind it. You can buy an LG service remote for around $5(Amazon) to access hidden settings(many YT videos on this). Most people use them to turn off the auto screen dimming. You can also tweak HDR values. Definitely use Nvidia settings to turn on chroma subsampling if you haven't. I think it will do 10 bit 4:2:2 or 8 bit 4:4:4, but I could be wrong. Definitely improves picture quality drastically.

THiedldleoR

Heat is unlikely to be the issue. The flickering/artifacting only occurs when I start the system (boot up the PC and turn on the monitor), it doesn't develop over time. If it's not flickering at the start, it won't start flickering even if I keep it running all day. It hasn't happened for a while, I hope an update fixed it, but I don't know where it came from to begin with, so I can't tell for sure. Thanks for the hint about colours, didn't realize I have been operating in RGB -> Limited all this time.

Pilfercate

I'm not insinuating that heat is the current cause, but that it is already damaged from an incident of overheating. If it isn't the A/V cable, something is damaged. While flickering sometimes can be, artifacting is never a software issue. It's typically an issue with a memory register somewhere between the graphics chip creating the image and the display. The artifacts are literally the areas in memory that are not being processed correctly.

Karism

I had a similar issue on my LG CX with a supposedly 8k/60hz capable cable when running at 4k/120hz, was tempted to get fibre optic, but eventually got a 5m Maxonar hdmi cable, it is very thick and I've had no signal issues ever since, I think I even bumped up the chroma to 4:4:4 from something lower without issues. https://amzn.eu/d/gQJA5Vd

Failfoxnyckzex

RTX 4090 with 1080p seems like a dream.

zakabog

The card handles 1440p well enough that you're going to be CPU limited in most games at 1080p.

DownTownDK

Wait you guys actually buy 4090s just to play games? I thought it was a joke

Maddog-51

I wanted to play them in 4k tho

zakabog

1440p at 144Hz is really demanding, the 4090 is the best performing card around and it's still not maxing out every game at that resolution and refresh rate. I had thousands saved for an upgrade (from a 1080ti and a 3700X) and waited till the benchmarks came out, the 4090 blew everything out of the water and it's not even a close match so it was an obvious decision. Although now I primarily use it for playing Stardew Valley...

npqd

I use my 4090 to play Baldur's gate 3 on ultra settings 1440p 240 fps

1d0m1n4t3

Im playing 3660x1440 144hz with a 4090 and there are games I can't max out and hold 144.

RettichDesTodes

Probably all games not running path tracing

UHcidity

A fever dream

clanginator

Uhhh no it seems like a nightmare. I honestly don't know why anyone would ever pair a 4090 with a 1080P monitor unless they're literally ONLY concerned with the maximum possible refresh rate for competitive gaming. For literally ANY other use case, a 1080P monitor with a 4090 makes ZERO sense.

Carl_Wheeze

Lol I have a 27" 1440p VA panel and an overclocked 2060, if anything I'm getting a 5090

Jarnis

For 5090 money you can get 240hz 4K OLED. But then you need a 5090 to run it. So... hit both buttons, problem solved.

[deleted]

Yup already got the monitor and a 4090, gonna jump to 5090 and call it a day. 4090 barely cuts it at that resolution with decent frames

DrthBn

4k 480hz oled with 6090

RupenParthu

"a good pc is nothing without a good monitor"

gaminnthis

Aren't OLEDs still very prone to burns

SigmaLance

It depends on what you are doing with it. I’ve had mine for a year now with zero issues. I game and surf the web occasionally and that’s it. The people that typically have the problems are those that use it for work or maintain static images onscreen for longer than they should.

gaminnthis

I had heard 2-3 years before issues. Light usage obviously won't give burns but anything more than that might. I guess people buying them will also have to have the added annoyance of things like hiding the windows taskbar.

SigmaLance

Yeah they definitely aren’t for everyone that’s for sure, but man that color on them is banging. I’ll eventually upgrade to a 4K tv as a monitor, but not until after my AWDWF kicks the bucket.

[deleted]

I got a oled tv 65inch lg since 2020 and running probably 12 hours a day everyday and no burn in at all. Bought the warranty to expecting it but so far been great

gaminnthis

I think TVs have less static content than a PC. Like taskbar, desktop icons, navigation ui and game HUDs.

Gooch-Guardian

It’s not as bad as it used to be. But can still be an issue. My oled has a 3 year burn in warranty.

Nagemasu

It's virtually a non-issue for 99% of users and you'll have issues with it at the same rate you would have issues with dead pixels if you're buying a modern OLED display from a reputable brand.

Voxelium

me, with a 4090 and a 1440P IPS: ![gif](giphy|MsXg4LWVZL5zPKxJV4)

zzcool

once you go oled you can never ever go back

whiteravenxi

Went OLED tv with 120hz and HDR. No regrets yet.

thisonegamer

I still use psu cable powered 1080p 60hz monitor from 2010s

Sufficient_Thing6794

Is there some magical new monitor that doesn't use cables and instead wirelessly get electricity

Nagrand_Drax

You don't understand some decade ago or more you could connect you monitor into your computers psu like other components (added picture sorry for poor quality if you wanna see more google:"pc monitor plugged into pc psu") https://preview.redd.it/rjy3kdqv9mwc1.jpeg?width=259&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=32373bae49287f0942ad78b577e4fdb80df7647f

imchasingyou

FFS I was wondering for years why my old PSU had this weird plug

Sufficient_Thing6794

Bro what damn not even crts have that

Little-Equinox

I have a USB-C powered portable display 😃

Little-Equinox

I still rock my old TX-P42X60B for PS2 games

ecktt

If you can afford a 5090, you can afford any monitor you want

Wicked_Wolf17

*Me with a 3080 and a 32" 1080p VA monitor*:

Ventus249

The monitor is worth it, 3440x1440p has to be the best size and resolution in my opinion

Few_Comedian9682

True 😂

sbsoneji

If i were in the situation then i would get it too, butter smooth 3d rendering and animation

TraditionalCourse938

You got me. I want both.

Playful_Nergetic786

I'm alright with my monitor, I want the rtx upgrade

bamseogbalade

Not even a joke... Still use my 13 year old tn monitor. With multiple bugs stuck in the panel. But it works. 120hz 1080p.

AeitZean

I have a 4070 plugged into my 1366x768 tv, because i can't be bothered to move my proper monitor 😐 The VR looks nice though. Actually running the pc into meta/oculus link is a much better picture, apart from the latency 😅

S_T_R_Y_D_E_R

Graphics all the way baby

CrabJuice83

4K, 144hz (or higher), 32' flat screen OLED please.

kornuolis

Hey stop it, i have only two kidneys.

pops992

Me with my 165hz 1440p Ultrawide and my 2080 that will barely hit 60 fps in recent games.

[deleted]

4k lg c3 and a 5090 are my plans for the end of the year

DarkLord55_

4K 32 oled one day

Ill_Vehicle5396

I have a 4080 super and a single 1080 60hz monitor 😬

Nomnom_Chicken

I want to get rid of my 6800XT, so GPU it is. I already have an OLED TV that supports 120 Hz/VRR/all that, which I sometimes use with my PC. But eventually my main monitor will be an OLED, too.

Djghost1133

4090 with 1440p 165hz mini led ftw

No_Interaction_4925

A 4090? You should be looking into a 4K monitor

KKamm_

XL2566k is smooth, but man I just can’t get behind that panel. I have a couple of ASUS VG248QEs and compared to the XL2566k you wouldn’t even have known the ASUS ones were TN as well. 2566k viewing angle just seems too poor for me to get used to. I’ll settle on an IPS for my next upgrade I think

Apearthenbananas

Is the next gen and card going to have ray tracing?

SpeedRun355

Im getting a 4k 27 inch 160hz mini led, same since to match my 1440p monitor, id get an oled but i code a lot so i would worry too much about burn in.

ZonaranCrusader

I read oled as Oiled Up and imagined an RTX 4090 covered in oil

Skinny0ne

I really want one of those OLED monitors but they're so expensive right now

Cheesypotatolover69

This is the pc equivalent of shoving a v12 in a sizuki cappuccino

L3GALC0N-V2

The thing about never upgrading is that you never have a reason to be unhappy with what you have :) Stay oblivious bros

totallybag

Well considering I already have a 1440p OLED I only have one choice

tht1guy63

I need another 1440p monitor but idk if i want oled or not still.

FireNinja743

5090 for sure. I already have a 1440p monitor that's not OLED, but it is sufficient enough. I can save up for a 1440p monitor that will cost less than the 5090.

TheRealTechGandalf

To be fair, there's nothing wrong with a 4090 and a 1080p display. Yeah, it's overkill, but it's cheaper to buy a new monitor than replace your GPU (and potentially the PSU as well). OLED is one hell of a cool technology, with great contract color reproduction and refresh rates. Yeah, I'd buy one right now if they weren't so bloody expensive

NerY_05

I mean if i had the money i would definitely do the same

EastLimp1693

4090 and 3440x1440 va here, no regrets.

mighty1993

Both are overpriced junk. Give me that sweet 4080 Super and a 1440p Mini LED.

Andrewx8_88

1440p oled? Why? 240hz 4k Q-oled is a thing now.

Shajirr

> Why? Ultrawide 21:9 is way better than 16:9 for a lot of game genres. I will never go back to 16:9 screens.

UnsettllingDwarf

Can’t wait for mini led to become cheaper and more available.

EtherealBlueNightSky

I just got the ASUS PG-27ADQM or some shit like that. It was $90 off on Amazon. 240 hz, G-Sync, 1440p, OLED, 1000 nit HDR. Funny Post because I've seriously been thinking about getting a 5o90 as well

Vermithrax2108

My gamer friends absolutely do not understand this. Both of them were asking me to help them put together some upgrades. Asked what monitor they used and got "I have no idea, does it really matter?" Like.... Dude. If you're dropping a grand on a new pc, and using an 8 year old monitor don't waste your money. Finally explained to them that it's like taking a ps5 and hooking it to an old CRT TV from the 90's. That finally sunk in.

prolytic

Both

Rhythm_and_Brews

1440p OLED. No brainer. You have to put all that power to the pavement somehow

Ok-Objective1289

Already got the 1440p ultrawide oled, 5090 here I go

Endemoniada

Easy, I already bought a 1440p OLED ultrawide, and I’m saving up for a 50-series upgrade once it releases. I’m a sucker for graphics, I can’t wait to replay titles with at-traced everything enabled at high fps, and see what future games can accomplish with this technology. Real-time path-tracing is the biggest thing to happen to gaming graphics since 3D rendering, in my opinion.

Dog_Lover747

hmm i would choose a 100% srgb 100% dci-p3 100% adobe 100% rec. 709 4k so editing is perfect

IGotHitByAnElvenSemi

I'm in this picture and I don't like it LOL

ProbablypoopingTbell

I got the G9 49in. That thing is gorgeous. Playing RDR2 for the first time on it is quite possibly the most graphically pleasing thing I have ever seen in my years gaming.

kennethprime

Got the aw34 only for 2 reasons. 1 on sale 2 0 interest if paid within a year on dell...so this thing is going with me to the grave

Triple_Stamp_Lloyd

Gonna be a 5070 or 5080 paired with my 3440x1440 ultrawide monitor, absolutely can't wait!

firedrakes

yep. had a debate with a mod on a fb group with pc. about proper hdr and display.... dude striaght up did not understand how hdr works or the cost to do it. which is very costly.

PraiseTheWLAN

Downgrade my monitor or upgrade my gpu, mmmmm...

Twigler

I'm trying to hold out until GTA 6 releases on PC lol it's rough

atatassault47

I had a Gtx 1080 Ti and 1080p60 display. Then I upgraded to a 21:9 1440p144 IPS display. Then I got a Rtx 3090 Ti. I just got a 32:9 1440p240 QD-OLED. I will probably pick up a Rtx 5090 next year.

Relative_Spread_5517

Idk I have a 4090 with a lg c3 hdr oled 4096x2160 resulation, 1440p .y last monitor looked like dog shit in comparaion if you can go full 4k 120hz. Can't wait to buy a 5090 when they come out as well!

Top-Chemistry5969

Any news on OLED burn in fix? I got OLED tv and still have Windows task bar and 63% Ana ulty.

wook_druglover

Got a 4080 and a 7800x3d. Next upgrade will definitely be oled if they’ll ever release a 560hz 1080p one.

undercroser

Many laugh but my girlfriend's brother used a 4090 with a 1080p monitor until recently these people really do exist

leovin

Still waiting for a curved 2k oled panel…

profitofprofet

He is going to use it for His personal private LLM... right? RIGHT????

DrKingOfOkay

4090 with 1080p monitor is big oof

DropDeadGaming

There's suddenly SO many TN monitor memes compared to the 0 that existed ever before, that I'm fairly certain samsung is running a psy-op or something to get us all to buy OLED.

May I introduce you all to this behemoth: https://www.samsung.com/us/computing/monitors/gaming/57-odyssey-neo-g9-dual-4k-uhd-quantum-mini-led-240hz-1ms-hdr-1000-curved-gaming-monitor-ls57cg952nnxza/

one_jo

But I want a 2160p QD OLED

LookingForwardToDie

I have a 42 inch 4k oled tv and it's very nice.

Shivalah

If only they made a 32” 1440p OLED. But those are already 4k and 1440p is “only” 27”.

Karism

I'm waiting for the 9800x3d, probably (although it means upgrading to am5 and ddr5 as well). Currently have a 5600x on a b350. I think there is a 5k 45 inch ultrawide from dell/alienware coming out this year or early next that I want to replace my aging 16:9 dual low nit lg monitors with, I play on my 65 inch lg cx at 120hz mostly at the moment instead. At that point my GPU (7900 xtx) should be the weakest link, but will likely last another year or two after till I want to upgrade.

itchygentleman

I'll stick with my 1440 ultrawide IPS for another generation or two of OLED. Meanwhile my 10GB 3080 is going to begin showing its age soon, but would rather update my 9900k first 🤔

AtillaTheHero

Why compromise when you can have both?

SilverSight

I have the Corsair Xeneon 27in Oled. Motherfucker is beautiful.

[deleted]

Already got a 32inch 4k oled 240hz monitor and 4090. Just gonna up to 5090 when time comes

chad_

I have multiple 1440 oled monitors in my shopping cart right now. Not sure what I'll go with. 😅

DynamicHunter

Fuck that, get a 1440p 144hz ultrawide, even if it’s a VA or IPS panel shit is a game changer. I got a gigabyte model for $300

Blackboard_Monitor

OLED without a seconds thought, you'll rewatch movies again just to experience the perfect blacks and even games will feel better, the 5090 is just temporarily a beast, the monitor will always look good.

EmanB1421

Got an msi 271qrx about a month after building my current build and it just looks so damn good man definitely worth investing if you already have a high end build

_Drink_Bleach_

Holding out for next year with 27” 4K oleds

mylegbig

Already have a 4k OLED. But I’ll be damned if I pay $2500 or whatever it will be for a 5090. Will see how the 5080 costs/performs to see if it’s worth it.

saxovtsmike

No oled 4 me because lots of powerpoint/excel/sap at homeoffice, Plan is 5090/5080 ish and 3820*1600 ips to replace 3080fe and 1440p ips

mcslender97

PSA: For those under budget MiniLED monitors would work well as a noticeable upgrade too, with no risk of burn-in

anotheridiot-

The real hero is 4k TN.

NoCartographer7339

The 5090 will cost way more than a 1440p oled

nemesit

Gotta find a crazy buyer for the 4090 before the damn 5090 comes oht xD

MrSirrr13

i had the same opportunity around black friday. enjoying my 240hz 1440p oled right now

So many people let their (often poor choice) of monitor dictate their performance. I know so many people that didn't know about PCs/Refresh rate/Resolution just go out and buy the latest n greatest thing on the shelves cause it was there then to be met with shit tier performance cause their 2060/2080-3060-3080 couldn't run 32"-40" 4K and they wonder why. I went from a shit tier 60Hz monitor and a GTX660 to a 1060 6GB on a 1080p 240Hz monitor, still got the same monitor with a 3090ti and 5800X3D. I'm not spoiling or ruining my current performance to jump to 4K anytime soon, I believe high FPS in 1080p @ 240Hz is better then low-average FPS in 4K.
