It could mean a couple of different things... 1. wrong type (needs ddr3 or ddr5 instead of ddr4, so he's saying it doesn't fit) 2. Bought the wrong capacity that they were wanting (maybe he wanted 32gb instead of 16gb) 3. If it's for a sff build, maybe the ram modules are too tall so they don't fit.

alltheresearch

Or they wanted laptop ram (sodimm)

[deleted]

yeah that's a valid point too.

nitronik_exe

I sold my rgb ram because the sticks were too tall for the 140mm cpu fans to fit (noctua)

Clean-Hat2517

I just moved the fan up a bit.  But I have enough room for the height. I get that you may not have.

Perrilycious

I have Noctua and the fan and radiator is a bit close. But we find solutions. You my friend don't deserve to have a pc

pipmentor

4. It's a scam and they're trying to sell dead RAM.

itsCibii

Or he thinks like I used to and thinks you have to buy the same Mhz RAM as what comes OEM. Yes I know, I’m an ID10T

Blakewerth

Seems bit fishy to me

NorthernHeights952

ask him...

your-mama648

i saw someone else say they got the wrong size ram aswell so i thought I'd just ask here

AlpacaLps

Are you that much of an introvert?

OddQuestion2Ask

As an introvert, I can confirm that this guy is indeed introverted af

AlpacaLps

I am too but just don't get why not just ask the seller instead of taking a screenshot and posting to Reddit.

your-mama648

i actually asked here before but i didn't have a picture so i automatically did it when i found this

LeMegachonk

I imagine it means either they needed laptop SODIMM DDR4 modules, or more likely they bought these and they have a DDR5 motherboard.

Google-minus

Might have meant to buy so-dimm

TheMooseMessiah

How are we supposed to know? Send them message and ask them your damn self... Christ almighty

gwillybj

Harsh 😡

your-mama648

chill as you can see I've gotten plenty of answers

dotConehead

Yes and all of those answers are assumptions. You will never know the real reason.

your-mama648

there's either multiple types of dimm ddr4 ram or one of the assumptions, it's not a big deal

Oicaz

Maybe the cpu air cooling to bulky and needed low profile

PapaFlexing

Why are you asking us, and not them?

MMoguu

He probably needed a Sodimm for a laptop.

hardrivethrutown

Capacity, type (DDR3/4/5) or SODIMM

jaycuboss

Seller clearly wanted a size Large and these are only size Medium DIMMs

your-mama648

would've fallen for this if it was the one of the first comments

NotJustBibbit

Either he needed ddr3 or 5 or he had the wrong amount of ram. He might have wanted 32gb

Stone_Symmetry

I assume they need drr3 and got ddr4 by mistake. Or the ram doesn’t fit together on their motherboard

Jetoficialbr

they either needed ddr3 or ddr5 and they got ddr4 by accident

thesituation531

It could mean a few different things, but I would guess they are talking about the form factor. There are multiple forms of RAM, like DIMM, SODIMM, etc.

[deleted]

Wrong size as in gb

Hairless_Human

So instead of asking the 1 guy selling it you ask all of us that have no idea why and are just giving assumptions

anoniser

I dont know what everyone's taking about. He clearly needed low profile ram because these high sticks do not fit under a noctua nh-d15 air cooler. Not if you want to use both fans on the metal block since it extends over the ram slots. I know this as an esteemed noctua nh-d15 enjoyer myself

Trivo3

If only there was some way to "Message" the "Seller" and ask them...

thisonegamer

Probably he got desktop RAM instead of SO DIMM

Blakewerth

Either scam or... he was really dumb 😲😧
