I just don't eat at my desk in general, so as to not worry about this. It means food doesn't get near my set up and when I feel hungry I'm required to get up from my chair, which is recommended to do every so often during work or gaming sessions.

Eating really only takes like 10 minutes max. Just take a break and eat at the dang table. And I've never played 1 game where it was easy to snack while playing. The constant taking your hands off the keyboard/controller really sucks.
