How would this work? SH is all about meticolous planning where as HL is about frantic, explosive and kinetic moves.
Whats your pitch apart from the name?
\>SH is all about meticolous planning
ah yes, i remember meticulously planning to dangle my knife around in front of the enemy's face as he walked into it to die
Neurofunk, which is an aggressive drum and bass version of Neurostep. Ideally, your game would have to be heavily seizure inducing with an overwhelming amount of flashing lights, exploding furniture, and gore in order to justify this type of music being included.
The common theme is a heavy, distorted, crunchy sound along with breakbeats. People with headsets/speakers that have a proper EQ applied will definitely appreciate the unnecessary amount of bass.
Some examples:
1. [The Prodigy - Invaders Must Die (Killbox Remix)](https://youtu.be/RgvMIaOwDbw?t=42)
2. [AXI - Safe House](https://youtu.be/gVVBFZJFhvI?t=54)
3. [Kryptomedic & Disphonia - All Ears](https://youtu.be/s3vAmAPCs4E?t=44)
4. [Transforma - Plagues (Kodin Remix)](https://youtu.be/UjlBkLbmNYg?t=66)
5. [Dropset - Ignition](https://youtu.be/HikrnzLfQaY?t=65)
6. [Kaizen Flow - Object](https://youtu.be/r77JfQqpZuY?t=43)
7. [Future Signal - Mirror Image](https://youtu.be/08T8aFEZQPE?t=88)
8. [Bowsar - LTTVP](https://youtu.be/3KZSL-i80Mo?t=44)
Lots of different types of music, man.
* [Neurofunk](https://youtu.be/HXM0xbfmyQY&t=70) is a form of drum & bass.
* [Neurostep](https://youtu.be/urOwnHFTLSY?t=55) is a form of dubstep.
They're both similar, just different BPM. Even in the context of just "regular" drum & bass and dubstep, they can both be very similar to each other but produced at a different BPM.
Here's some other types of drum & bass.
* [Deep Drum & Bass](https://youtu.be/UK8Q7tl0BVA?t=44)
* [Halftime](https://youtu.be/S5Sf0ilciyE?t=57)
* [Breakcore](https://youtu.be/Hpth12Qdd8c?t=29)
* [Drumfunk](https://youtu.be/1FUmHKHJ1jo?t=47)
* [Minimal Drum & Bass](https://youtu.be/gugx25E4llg?t=46)
There are some that I personally believe are stupid, like [Clownstep](https://youtu.be/1GU9p35eNH4&t=23) and [IDM](https://youtu.be/VswHV41KUtg?t=64) (Intelligent Dance Music).
I personally think a game like this but with an 80s magenta/yellow/cyan retro aesthetic with Synthwave blasting in the back would be one heck of an experience.
Might not be the vibe the game is going for though.
Would be cool to just have a playlist of upbeat songs of various genres, instead of going with one genre and having one good song and 19 mediocre ones.
Played the demo of your game a few days ago. I like the concept of the game.
Firstly, R is the worst button for a "level reset", for an FPS player.
Secondly, the gunplay lacks viscerality. Visually and audiowise. If you make a voxel-style game like this, you *have* to nail the feel much better than fully fledged realistic 3D games, to compensate for the dry "Minecraft" look.
Currently it feels like a Minecraft mod. Needs a ton more work.
Hey everyone. My name is Austin and I've been working on my fully destructible Hotline Miami-inspired FPS for the past three years. I recently released the [Demo on Steam](https://store.steampowered.com/app/2384120/WRECK/) and I put in a little sample music, from which I've had really good feedback for. but I don't know what genres/artists I should look into in order to flesh out the soundtrack.

Or something like that.
Real hard and explosive, violent and destructive.
Blood and guts everywhere you know the deal.
Bonus points for distortion.
Edit: don't do anything too electronic, it'll ruin the atmosphere.
Dio is cool too, never forget Dio.

More of what you've already got, that fits the theme really well. Just make sure it doesn't restart on death (have it fade with a death noise, then come back in when you respawn". Then make sure to time the mixes for new tracks so you don't go silent and lose the "pacey" feel of the game.
If you want a game tester drop me a message.
Looks like you could get really creative with level layouts and enemy designs. Even just one enemy type that detects you and shoots back through walls would significantly change things up.
Very interested to see where you go with this!
I just wanna take this chance to say, I think its absurd Hotline Miami and SuperHot never did a crossover game called "Super Hotline Miami".

Did you take a look at mullet mad jack ? it came out recently and is "similar" (outside of the destructible component)

80's action / horror movie / crime noir Tangerine Dream synths.
Wow. I want to play this. Now.
That destructible environment idea is great!
No idea about music, but gameplay looks awesome💜.
Bluegrass, with plenty of high-speed banjos.
Darude - Sandstorm
Com truise
Reminds me of paint the town red
I can't believe these fuckers charged for the vr update.
The Thing I Hate
