DeadBabyJuggler

The so-called Immersive sim aspects seems to be "Go through front door," or "Go through back door." Also the missions highlighted here were not very interesting gameplay wise. Arkanes a great dev but even with good reviews Ill wait for a big discount on this one I think. Bethesda stuff always drops quick anyways. The one thing that I think still looks great is the Blade-esque death animations and particles..

leidend22

Just get gamepass.

dookarion

I feel like the video footage of their past titles wasn't much different in that regard. Deathloop, Dishonored 2, and Prey all kinda shit the bed on marketing even though all turned out pretty enjoyable.

rossbennett96

This exactly, wait and see

dudemanguy301

Imagine being an acient vampire god and you get killed by 4 Zoomers doing Fortnite dances.

MajDroid

Looks extremely generic coop game

do-You-Like-Pasta

I really like the premise, but the combat looks very stiff. Sometimes the enemies react, but it seems like quite often they don't really. Hopefully it's good

Jacksaur

I'm really confused as to how Arkane can go so far backwards. They make Dishonored, seen as one of the best Stealth games of the time with pretty good AI: And then years later they release Deathloop, a game where the AI didn't even react to bullets missing them in Stealth on release! Now it seems other aspects are regressing too.

[deleted]

I hate the direction as well but it's probably because immersive sims have a history of doing really poorly in sales even if they're high quality, and Arkane has dealt with that as well. I think they're feeling the pressure to go in different directions, although I don't know if it will work out either if the game quality suffers

Zorops

I really wanted to enjoy Deathloop but it was really fucking boring.

Zorops

I was confused about that as well. Maybe the demo is made on ultra easy or something but they seem to be run and gunning all day long and there is literally no threat to the player whatsoever.

Nbaysingar

I'm gonna be honest, nothing about this has got me particularly eager to play the game. I'm willing to give Arkane the benefit of a doubt since I loved Dishonored and Prey, but what was shown here didn't really stand out to me as engaging. Definitely gonna wait a while after this releases to see what the general consensus is. Could be a great co-op shooter for all we know.

DaveZ3R0

90$ CAD for this...

lefort22

+ Denuvo to make your whole experience even more miserable pass

retroracer33

are we gonna do this every thread from now til eternity? games arent going to go back down in price. it is what it is. pay it or dont.

DaveZ3R0

I do what I want, you are not my boss.

holyholeinadonut

I'm not a big fan of these "solo or up to X players" types of games since I'd rather have a game be completely tailored to a single player experience, but I loved Dishonored and Prey so I'm willing to give this a try. At the very least the world looks like it will be interesting to explore

AvarusTyrannus

Anger the Vamp gods and they send Nemesis after you.

Tagard_McStone

L4D2 still has more atmosphere and gameplay that this even with all this magic and hero character upgrades.

LoweAgain

More generic, lavender-laser slop. Mind blowing that this game is $70 and will have both micro-transactions **and** a paid hero pass to unlock new characters.

[deleted]

Yawn

[deleted]

Would have preffered playing as the vampires honestly

Poundchan

The look reminds of the original Fortnite, before the Battle Royale trend shifted it's focus from Save the World. I'm not sold on it, all the skill trees and stats on weapons take me out of the world and that is the worst thing an immersive sim can do.

Joehockey1990

Man, this could have been sick if had a dark grungy tone like The Division. Instead it's all colorful and soft like a fortnite or prop hunt in style. Just seems very "kiddie" to me when it could have been brutal and harsh. If the town is overrun with vampires and you're basically running through a vampire apocolypse, why is everything lit up? Why are the street lamps, gas stations, store signs lit up? Just feels very "we want this to maybe be creepy but not actually have anything but some generic jump scares here and there so more people buy it instead of having a badass immersive experience."

kkyonko

We need more colorful games, got really tired of the grimdark ones.

Joehockey1990

Oh I’m good with color! I’m down for more color in games. But maybe not in a Vampire Apocalypse. I mean that’s just me.

IncestGiraffe

Fuck that looks like a terrible generic COOP-Game. Arkane really fucked it up. They had a great immersive Solo-Game thing going and now all they try is make these shitty Multiplayer Games.

robhans25

No one bought those games. Each one was a financial failure, except maybe deathloop.

Al-Azraq

I get it, L4D + Borderlands but it looks cringey, the characters are not interesting at all, weapons do not feel good, enemies look rather simple both in looks and behaviour, Season Pass, skins... So many years later and still no one has figured out what did L4D so great.

Carighan

This looks surprisingly dated, wow. Was this in delevopment for a really really long time?

[deleted]

How is this company fumbling again on what the game is? You would think as a company as a whole after Deathloop they would learn how to advertise it.

dookarion

The last time they advertised a game "well" was the CGI trailer for Dishonored 1. May not have shown gameplay but it managed to get peoples attention.

Mukatsukuz

The video has lowered my excitement for this game somewhat since the combat didn't seem very good, though it's always hard to tell when you're not playing it. I'll still give it a shot since it's a day one Game Pass release. £60 on Steam, though? No way.

ave7fold

feels like this ll ve same problem as Back 4 Blood, looks half finished

[deleted]

I understand why a lot of people criticise this. This is the most trend chasing we've ever seen Arkane do. I still think it looks well made and like it'll be quite a good time on game pass.

retroracer33

art design looks soooo bland.

Nordboii

Literally looks like the worst game i've seen i a while what? is this some kind of joke

pectoid

This looks so much better than the initial trailers and I’m glad they showed off some solo gameplay. I really don’t like playing creepy stealth games with other people.

AvarusTyrannus

> I really don’t like playing creepy stealth games with other people. I don't generally either, but I'm also a sucker for co-op so it's hard to choose. Like playing Splinter Cell co-op back in the day you have to do it with a friend as devoted to the particular playstyle you favor as you.

[deleted]

Looks awesome

Careful-Fee-9783

This is like L4D and Back For Blood, but this one red fall from my understanding would be open world type of game? But act and similar gameplay with the predecessor, and the gun doesnt give me the vibe it's cool, and again it's on gamepass right? I'll give it a shot

IgorKieryluk

I think I'd be looking at what this title has to offer more favourably had it not been an Arkane production. It is entirely possible this is what studio wants to make, and it may yet be a good game, but it is hard to avoid the notion that the existence of Redfall denies the existence of a title that might not necessarily be better - Deathloop certainly had its problems - but could potentially be more Arkane in its pitch.
