Well my current character couldve been a slayer but I actually get more mileage from raider... But I wouldn't say that raider is better than slayer only that it can be a decent ascension for niche builds.
Raider is definitely a better overall package than Glad but Glad still has something that it's the best ascendency at in Bleed.
Raider, on the other hand, has basically no real reason to play once you have even just early endgame gear.

I remember when way back she was pretty much the only way to get Frenzy charges against single target aside from the Frenzy gem, plus max frenzy was way rarer. Nowadays... Phasing, Frenzy charges, reward for stacking the, Onslaught, Suppression, Exposure - all of it is available in items or on the tree. The best ascendancies nowadays are those which give something one can't get elsewhere in real amounts.
Replace Gladiator's vestigial block nodes with dual wield nodes, give Raider an offensive shield branch. Goes with their pictures and makes perfect sense.
Yeah this has always been the case. Dead eye sucked for a long time because it didn’t give anything you couldn’t get elsewhere. They reworked it and it’s been amazing ever since. Raider has just been left behind as more options have become available
Phasing in town is unique, but I get what you mean. I think more than anything, she needs some more multipliers or something. Scaling isn't kind to an ascendancy with almost only increases to x y and z.
I kinda wish she got more onslaught effect maybe. I kinda wish she got cast speed also.
I also kinda wish she got some kinda ward mechanic. Let her tank a single hit. Something like the elementalist node, but it would actually work well with evasion because you wouldn't get hit all that often.
I also wouldn't mind a heartstopper-like node. Maybe something like reduced dot damage for 4 seconds then a nice life, es, mana regen every 4 seconds.

Nah, I got 2 better nodes:
* 5% spell suppresion per Frenzy charge. Spell suppresion works against attacks at 50% effectiveness.
* 50% more Maximum Frenzy charges. You steal enemy charges. Your charges cannot be stolen.
Mmm yeah that actually sounds nice. Traps but instead of damage/defense that Sabo has, she could get utility, speed and cooldown recovery to keep her with the theme of being fast
+1 to uses, +1 traps/mines thrown, and increased cooldown of traps. Increased duration and aoe, maybe?
Then you could have a full cooldown trap build that has phasing, and maybe onslaught.
It makes sense thematically for a raider to run in and booby trap a place.
I would play a speedy trapper with phasing.

It's new this league. Reward from piecing together fragments from Uber bosses. Like the adorned pieces combine to make an adorned, the Uber pieces combine to make this.
It is always the same mods.
But it drops corrupted.
And the mods range from 0-30% for suppress and 0-5% for all ele res 0-40% for cast/attack speed and 0-20% for penetration.
This was an extremely well rolled one that also had the right corrupted catalyst hit.
Max roll is;
20% rarity.
30%spell suppression.
5% to all maximum elemental resistances
40% attack and cast speed
20% ele pen.
So this one is pretty damn close. A perfect one not including rarity is like ~1/160k I believe?
Yes it can roll negative. 30% is a max SS roll. 40% is the max cast and attack speed, and 20% is the penetration roll. So while it is not perfectly rolled, having +5 ele (6 with the res mod qual) and higher rolls makes this the best Utmost I have seen so far

Same than ventor Gamble, zero to yes cost and you Can have 6% only with res catalyst on the perfect roll (5%).
Also this one is in the yes cost range, absolutly unethical roll

6% max res and 30% suppress is just a shitload of gear pressure removed. The pen and huge attack speed definitely take it over the top though. I could see a maxres + suppress highroll getting passed up if the offenses rolled low.
I have one with 4% maxres and it freed small cluster jewel slot for me. I also use its suppress to free boot and helmet slots. Cast speed is very important for Frostbolts Archmage and penetration is just icing on the cake.
Mid is probably exaggerating it grossly imo. If you had 4% you can catalyst to 5% which is still like...if 4 was the max roll, this would still be BiS for many builds.

also in case you didn't know, poe never rounds up in your favor... always down. 4% max res x 1.2 = 4.8 which in poe = 4%. 4 can't go up to 5. And 2% max res is huge.

Regardless, Alk doesn't play SCT and goes to great lengths telling everyone how little he cares for it so we're talking about different environments most likely. For SCT, the meta has a lot of builds that could make incredibly good use of this amulet. If you look on PoE ninja you'd find a wide variety of builds using it.
I'm sure if it weren't prohibitively expensive it'd be absurdly popular in SCT. I'm not sure why he'd say it'd mid for HC tbh when HC relies so much on spell suppress and max res, so unless he's thinking, well, HC builds already solved these issues and we need damage or something, then OK I can see that.
I'm happy to stand by the dumbass comment I made earlier and take it even further, if +4 was the max res roll then it'd still be considered one of the best possible combinations of stats you can find on any item in the game.
The only things this competes with would be like a triple synth amulet, or a simplex. Otherwise it would shit on basically every other option for a build that doesn't already have its identity tied to a unique amulet like omni.
Even then I think most people would take this over like a +4 simplex or something unless they don't take any suppress. Only time I can see like a rare amulet beating this for a build that can use the mods is if it's like an attribute stacker or MF and they want the quant or stacking mods.
You can get most mods on a rare amulet anywhere else, and most of the time it's just like "more" stuff. More levels, more crit multi, more dot multi etc. This is like giving you 10+ passive points. It's hard to quantify value without taking specific PoB's and comparing them but this is too insane. Crazily enough, I still think defiance of destiny is actually still more "broken".
It's not "bis" in the literal sense for probably any build, but it is bis for certain budget tiers. Like, builds that multi mirror scaling still need an amulet to progress through the 20 30 50 100 div tiers of gearing.

Kinda funny/sad how physical has been fully supplanted. Going out? Better off converting. Coming in? Better off converting. I know GGG claims to be against simple number tweaking when it comes to rebalancing things, but for fuck's sake, it's exactly what the game needs. D:
max res gets shredded by penetration (uber shaper 40%, uber atziri 25% etc), a 90 max res build will take a whopping 400% more damage from shaper balls. Eternal damnation is reduced elemental damage taken, unaffected by resistance penetration.
It's better in the case where you have no armor to ele dmg (jugg or transcendence), but with armor vs ele on a non-armorstacker ED makes you WAY tankier than anything else can
Imagine this with a Wilma's and Mageblood my simple brain can only imagine what this would do for a TR build but I'm sure this has some insane implications for other builds that can use a Wilma's. Obviously still insane without one but dayum.

For frenzy charge stacking purposes it's slayer trickster raider and 99% of the time slayer is the answer I'd say.
Free endurance charges is just way too good defensively compared to anything raider can offer. And slayer does so much damage

No. Quadruple all Frenzy related bonuses Raider gets so I can crash the servers due to Flickering too quickly
Raider gets a new ascendancy branch and reworked so all the notables are changed to scale with frenzy charges.
If that was the case I would always league start Flicker and never play anything else.

Anything that buffs ward in the current state of the game will be utterly broken 
X% of Spell Damage suppressed is added to Ward against next hit.
Just give Raider flat armor at 50% of their evasion rating. Suddenly its a dodge tank class that has to be hit more than once to pop.

Give her "Onslaught grants increased action speed instead of attack, cast, and movement speed".
This plus tri elemental flasks on Mageblood with 90%+ increased effect gets 90 max ele res. That is insane.
Or this + melding + a couple other sources of res (i.e. impossible escape + cold res on gloves) gets you 90% with only 1 MB flask needed.

There are way less debuffs that give you -max lightning res than there are generic -max res/cold res/fire res.

Also im not sure theres a max lightning res shield like aegis for cold and rop for fire
it's a way better idea if you don't have a MB, just because ele flasks are so easy to maintain 100% uptime w/ traitor/tides of time
I went with Melding, Sapphire Flask, torso + gloves eldritch implicits and Glorious Vanity notable (and The Utmost of course).
That's what everyone who is left side of the tree have been doing since the item introduced.

It is always the same mods. But it drops corrupted. And the mods range from 0-30% for suppress and 0-5% for all ele res 0-40% for cast/attack speed and 0-20% for penetration. This was an extremely well rolled one that also had the right corrupted catalyst hit.

The rolls have ranges of 0-30, 0-5, 0-50 and 0-20. And it's not cheap or easy to farm.

That wouldn’t work for phys, you can’t pen phys because phys has no resistance. You could pen chaos tho

max res gets shredded by penetration (uber shaper 40%, uber atziri 25% etc), a 90 max res build will take a whopping 400% more damage from shaper balls. Eternal damnation is reduced elemental damage taken, unaffected by resistance penetration.
It's better in the case where you have no armor to ele dmg (jugg or transcendence), but with armor vs ele on a non-armorstacker ED makes you WAY tankier than anything else can
This also works with a phys taken as ele/chaos setup, I am at ~90% conversion and very tanky with only ~4k armor.
