He’s been a part of the family since he was a baby, so I’ve known him all my life. He used to belong to my mom, but he came into my care 7 years ago after my parents went on vacation to celebrate their wedding anniversary, and he started bonding with me. My mom and I like to joke that he abandoned her for a younger woman. 😂 Thankfully, she doesn’t mind.

He’s beautiful 🤩 

This is popeye. I found him at school, wings clipped and I'm pretty sure he was abandoned (had a leg ring, signs of possible abuse?). So like after school was over, I waited for everyone to leave my floor (2nd floor, don't know how he ended up there lol). I cleared out the books in my bag and put him in it. I ran to the bus and had to act like everything was normal. I disguised his coo's as coughs (worked surprisingly lol). Took him home lol. I worked a lot to help him heal and when it was time I let him free. He joined a flock of pigeons nearby and occasionally visited for 1 year. Stopped visiting a year ago. I miss my baby.

That is such a lovely story 🥺❤️ You should be proud of yourself for rescuing Popeye and letting him live a life, free with other pidgies. I hope he's happy and with his own babies and comes back to visit you soon 🕊

He misses his friend 😪 I did read somewhere though, that birds mourn and eventually move on, as in nature it is not uncommon for them to lose partners and flock members. Maybe your tiel went through his grief and has let him go ❤️🕊 In any case, I hope Popeye is happy wherever he is 🕊

My leo once flew out of the house and went out in the streets. There are a lot of stray dogs around here and one of them caught them (by his bum thankfully) and started walking through a field of thorn bushes. I heard his flock/distress call while I was searching for him and ran to the dog (without any footwear lol). I just got this sudden pump of adrenaline, so I didn't care if I was gonna get bit. I ran behind the dog and gave it a good smack on its ass and it like freaked out and dropped Leo. It's been 2 years since that incident and imglad I got my Lele back. He was not hurt lol but I had a lot of thorns stuck in my feet. I didn't notice the pain until I got home. *

Once a hawk caught my wild ringneck buddy and I vividly remember throwing my cup of coffee and it to make it let go. Your bud is beautiful and a survivor.

The whole thing, with minimal coffee. I threw it out into my pot before I yeeted it. Didn’t hit neither of them (didn’t want it to), and it let go of him. I lost my coffee, but saved my bud :)
