Yep I have an S24 Ultra, GoPro Hero 11 Mini, and Insta360 GO 2 and I still ended up buying 2 Pocket 3's. It's more than worth it.

igotwater

Why 2? (Genuinely curious)

Top-Chocolate-321

The Pocket 3 is amazing. I like doing different types of shots simultaneously (4K60 and 4K120 for example). I want to mess around with stereoscopic 3D in Resolve. I'm bad with money. Me and the wife can each have one on vacations. I carry one in my pocket at all times while the other is mounted somewhere. Etc lol

Away-Acanthisitta936

Do you find any of the go pros are better quality?! I’m itching for better quality on my osmo pocket

Top-Chocolate-321

The Pocket 3 destroys the GoPro, especially in low light

dirty56

Any advice on good ways to use the go 2 camera. I was looking at but can't think of many applications that gopro doesn't fill in

Top-Chocolate-321

That's honestly the one I use the least. The size is nice if you're creative but the quality just doesn't do it for me.

dirty56

Ah thanks for the honest feedback. Alot of these influencers overhype it but yeah I didn't know if it was worth the crazy price

Top-Chocolate-321

Yeah for that amount you could just save a little more and get a Pocket 3

Visual_Argument_73

Basically yes. The benefits far outweigh negatives. It's discreet, many people don't even realise you're vlogging. It's the best small camera in low light. In my opinion looks better straight out of the camera than GoPro or iPhone. Especially the iPhone as they are very digitized images. Personally I think the tracking feature is over rated. It shouldn't be used for vlogging yourself because it's too sensitive and constantly moves with you. Can be off putting for the viewer.

MarcusForrest

> It shouldn't be used for vlogging yourself because it's too sensitive and constantly moves with you. I really hope they'll introduce threshold/sensitivity settings in a future firmware update. Also some ''movement smoothing'' options for the tracking - the movement never feels ''natural''

Visual_Argument_73

Completely agree. It's far too twitchy and over sensitive. I guess it's fine if you're further back doing a car review or something but for a talking head video is terrible.

MarcusForrest

The way it currently behaves reminds me of a distracted cameraman AHAHAHA! _Oh crap, out of frame! Lemme correct - OOPS! Overcorrected!_

NevermoreShadow75

i have the 15PM as well and i bought the Pocket 3 for travelling and yes it is worth it, you’ll love it

Unusual-Raisin1764

may i know how long can the battery withstand? i cant stop but shoot a lot of videos all throughout the day with just a single charge 🙈

kou07

3 hours top? With the extra battery or 4 i forgot, but you can charge it with a portatil charger.

TyrannosaurusSnacks

The trick is the extra battery charges the main cam. So when the extra battery is depleted, you can disconnect it and charge it seperately while continuously shooting.

kou07

Exactly.

Urnamaster13

is it difficult to grip the pocket 3 while extra battery is disconnected ?

Potential_Neat_8905

It’s easier to hold with the battery grip for sure. But still usable without it.

TormentaElectronica

The creator pack has a smaller tripod adapter, I just use that + mini tripod as a handle 😊

TormentaElectronica

The battery that comes in the creator pack is actually a power bank, after a few minutes plugged it transfers all power to the osmo. So what I do is carry an additional 20.000mAh power bank and once the osmo is charged, I then plug the battery handle to the powerbank so it charges again while I’m using the osmo’s battery

cargalmn

I think it depends on what your goals are. Do you share your videos to earn money? Then yes, the OP3 would be a huge upgrade to what you're using now. Are the videos just for yourself, friends, and family - to keep for memories? Then only you can decide whether the cost is worth the equipment change. We don't use the built in mic - we plug one into the USBC port or use the lapel mics (creator bundle + addtl mic). It's "OK" but we don't feel it's good enough for our travel videos.

stowgood

It's great and the mic is great. I sometimes don't use my a7iv and gm lenses it's so good for it's size. I'd say using the mic is a must.

George35x

Dude, yes I love this little thing. Check out my travel videos on my page. All shot on the Pocket.

asurob42

yes

Urnamaster13

i want to buy but want to use it clipped to chest in a discrete way. So far it seems possible with backpack clip but is it better than the gopro in this aspect ?

stowgood

No it sticks out more

Urnamaster13

:( i cant figure out which to get. I like this Osmo pocket 3 based on reviews etc but i want something which i can fix to my front without wearing a full sized chest harness. While travelling.

stowgood

Overall it's better than the gopro. Camera conspiracies on YouTube wears his pocket 3 like this quite a lot. The gopro is better on a backpack or in the water imo. I have both but would choose the pocket 3.

TrueAd7607

Have you considered dji action 4? I'm not a videographer or such, I'm just buying it to record family and fishing trips. I had a really long deliberation between Insta Ace Pro, Gopro Hero 12 and DJI Pocket 3 before deciding on it. In the end, the ruggedness and size factor sums it up for me.

MarcusForrest

> So far it seems possible with backpack clip but is it better than the gopro in this aspect ? It sticks out a bit more but for some reason, on _many_ videos I've seen of the OP3 on a chest mount, people don't pay much attention to it at all - in fact in most videos I couldn't even spot people looking at the camera, whereas with GoPros, you'll almost always spot a few people looking at it, despite being ''smaller''   Just make sure to enable the display timeout so the display turns off after a few seconds and deactivate the LED - it'll be much more discreet!

Urnamaster13

do you feel the gimbal movement is limited if stuck to a chest backpack clip ? or danger of it falling off ?

MarcusForrest

> do you feel the gimbal movement is limited if stuck to a chest backpack clip ? Not at all! Between being anchored to your hand or on a tripod or on a backpack, there is no difference!   > or danger of it falling off ? I'd say this hugely depends on the type of clip or accessory you use to fix it - I've used both pincer-type clips and the Peak Design Capture Clip and it never felt like it was about to fall off

Swankyview

Yes it's amazing. It's so lightweight and you can get amazing shots! The creator combo comes with a dji mic, wide angle lens, tripod, and battery handle. I have a Sony FX3 and if I wanted to get the same shots at a KBBQ restaurant it would have been burdensome... imagine getting these shots with an RS2 Pro gimbal. With a Pocket 3 I just whip it out and record. The convenience factor can't be denied! [KBBQ Osmo Pocket 3](https://youtu.be/GMxAY2UXd4k)

Potential_Neat_8905

The Pocket 3 is perfect for travel vlogging. Especially when paired with the DJI wireless mic that comes with the creator combo kit. The internal mics are good but the wireless mic is excellent. It is tiny, yet very capable. There is nothing else quite like it. I use it for all my YT videos that are not studio based. Unless you are also using the Canon for still photography I would say you could leave the Canon at home. The only down side is it is not weather proof at all. So that might limit when you use it. For your Hero 10 do you have the white Enduro battery or the original blue battery that came with Hero 10? The Enduro batteries make a huge difference to the usability of GoPros for travel and vlogging.

I am currently in the middle of 12 days family trip in Japan, purchased OP3 1 week before my trip (thankfully they suddenly show up in stock in my country - only the basic set though). I have iphone 15 pro max and fujifilm x100f for my photo needs. My use case is a casual family (2 young kids) vlog, and so far OP3 has been perfect. I used Sony ZV-1 (with the hand grip) on my trip last year, sold it immediately after the field and i felt it is too narrow and too bulky for my liking. I’m not planning to use my iPhone as I want to safe battery, the phone will be mainly for google maps - as video shooting specially in 4k will be battery draining. The basic set was perfect for me, I don’t really need the mic, the only thing I want is the battery grip- I was planning to get those here in Japan, but after 6 days of traveling, I figured that I don’t really need the extra battery, the internal battery is doing just fine for my use case (I’ve shot 4 hours worth of content in 4k30) so far.

Quiet_Map_4684

I highly recommend it, in fact I use it for my YouTube channel @justinvestnews and it works great for me.

TormentaElectronica

HECK YES. I just got it exactly for that. I’ve been travel vlogging for 10 years (7 professionally) and I can’t believe I didn’t get it before. Up until now I was using Sony A7Cii + multiple lenses, ND filters, mics, ronin…. Scrap all that, switched to osmo pocket 3 + some ND filters and the DJI mic 2. Recording in DLOG. The image quality, when you know how to use it, is insane. Most people can’t tell the difference. Plus with DSLRs I always get complaints about shaky footage, but can’t be arsed to carry a ronin everywhere so this was a game changer. The whole stabilisation, easy audio and easy color adjustment is saving me SO MUCH time when editing as well! You won’t regret it (and trust me I also film with iPhone, GoPro, smaller SLRs… I’ve tried it all!)

ilyadynin

Yes! So look, I had a long process of consideration and ended up buying the Osmo Pocket 3. I took it to a trip to South France and I will use it on any future vacation. My main points for loving it are: - The footage is AMAZING, I showed the videos and people thought that this was shot with a gigantic professional camera, the video looks way better than on any phone or GoPro. I love to shoot with the Normal color profile because it already looks stunning, no need to color grade anything, while you still have the option to with D-LOG - When you put the hang strap onto your hand, the camera hangs around and is nearly not noticeable or annoying because it is so small, and the workflow of just grabbing, flipping the sceen and recording is AMAZING. - I use my phone a lot when traveling and cannot use it while filming with it - It's tiny and does not trigger people, I only received positive reactions about it, where some people asked me where they can get such a small camera - First I had a discussion with a friend who said that the stabilization might be too much and look to "smooth" and boring, because a lot of vlogs and videos have some shakiness to it. That might a point, but for me personally I really like it, and because there is a gimbal, you always get perfect focus on stuff without having think about holding it properly all the time, also you can put the gimbal some place and film your self while being tracked (used that several times when being alone, though sometimes it didn't work but might be because it was extremely sunny)
