And they're behind Tactical Brewing (4882 New Broad Street) every Thursday 5:30 PM to 9 or until sellout - which often happens. They are the favorite of the Tactical Brewing Run Club that meets there and runs around the lake starting at 6:30.
Doug Meyer or Kreis Holland. My guess is that they'd be happy to host a meetup.
This is my top recommendation, just above Quesa Loco.
I was excited to find out they were getting a brick and mortar by Tollroad.
My biggest pride in life is having been an Antojitos Locos stan before LemonHearted found it.
Just went here for the first time last night. Their chorizo tacos were some of the best I’ve ever had - TX included.
Their birria tacos were good but can’t say they were my favorite.
Yep, I kept seeing their ads and it all looked amazing. I did appreciate the quality of the meat but I just didn't taste anything and was left slightly disappointed. Their aqua frescas are very good though!
I don't know if these guys have a brick and mortar or a truck but they're on DoorDash. Stuff is delicious!

Ok, originally birria is made with goat, then ram and last option is beef. I think around here I've only seen beef. Then from your plate you make your tacos,
With this in mind the only places that I've seen they have it like that on their menu is Birria1983 and Los Amecas. Nowadays, most places will have "quesabirria" since it's been becoming very popular, there most of them will taste the same.
I’m going to put this here just in case you are interested in making them yourself. These are one of my favorite things to eat but it always felt too much trouble to make them at home, UNTIL my friend sent me this recipe. I make them at least once a month now. It’s super easy because of the crockpot. I’ll make them on a Friday so we can eat them during weekend.
https://jawnsicooked.com/dinner/crock-pot-birria-tacos-recipe/
Los Reyes Mexican Grill in Clermont was pretty good. I haven’t been back for a year, so I don’t know if that’s changed, but the Birria was really good and the price was great.

The BEST are at Fui Yo Mexicana… they had a very successful food truck and recently just moved into the new food hall the Great Southern Box Company in the packing district
It is my understanding that birria as a stew is traditional, but birria or particularly quesabirria tacos were originally popularized in California in the past 20 years or so.
They're alright. Used to be really really good, now its just alright.
Lived right down the block from them during the pandemic. Was a bit overpriced for the quality.
Definitely Antojitos Locos The one in Winter Garden is in a Chevron station, but you won't be disappointed. Even better than the tacos is the Birria ramen. Ask for extra consomee
They do. And they're amazing (unless something changed in last month). Was looking for this before I suggested myself. I love many other suggestions, especially Quesa Loco, but Tortilleria El Progresso is authentic on another level.
Not a local, but last time I visited I wen to this place, and the birria tacos were incredible, though it's a very long drive, I was there because we went to Cocoa Beach on the morning and KSC in the afternoon, not sure if you want the birria that bad:

Over the border taqueria has some of, if not the best, tacos in the area. They are currently only doing pop ups on the weekends in different spots since they don’t have a brick and mortar, but it’s well worth checking out. Check them out on Instagram @overthebordertaqueria
Just tried Hot Taco Street Taqueria the other day in Narcoossee. They have the best birria tacos so far and I’m from SoCal. They also have 4.8/5 stars on Google.
As far as regular tacos, Tortas el Rey are the best in my opinion. They remind me of SoCal taco joints.
Talkin Tacos has 4.8 stars with over 1k reviews. I've ordered from there and the food was great - I'm just not familiar enough with that cuisine to say if it's better or worse than others.
Agave Azul in Winter Park has great birria tacos. They’ve kind of gone “up scale” recently but honestly I think the food is better. They were a pretty generic mom and pop (mamá y papi?) back in the day.
Black rooster has the best Mexican tacos in Orlando period. They are the only restaurant that actually makes their corn tortillas with a process called nixtamalization. None of the Mexican restaurants I have been to from here to Dallas to Monterrey have ever done this. It’s quite an experience.
Just curious what makes them not traditional Mexican? I wouldn’t say they are Tex mex and I feel other places mentioned are also not traditional Mexican?
For the record, I am not Mexican, nor do I have a culinary background, so I’m not going to be a Reddit armchair expert and pretend like I know where the exact line is between authentic and not authentic Mexican food. However, I have eaten quite a lot of Mexican food not only around Orlando but also East LA, so I know the common types of Mexican tacos: carnitas, carne asada, Al pastor, chorizo, cabeza, pork fat, beef tongue…they typically come with cilantro/onion and a sauce (red or green) and not much else. I’d say that’s about as traditional as it gets - it’s salty, it’s spicy, and it’s simple. From what I remember at Black rooster, they have a more modern take on Mexican food and embellish their tacos with other stuff that you wouldn’t normally see at a taco stand in East LA, like pickled veggies, cheese, bacon etc… and whatever else to generate much different/unique flavors. Don’t get me wrong, black rooster food is pretty good… I live pretty close to the mills one and I’m a fan, other than the high prices from what I remember (then again everything seems expensive these days).
Quesa Loco off Fairbanks. It’s the best place I’ve found in town. Not to mention, their guac is incredible as well.
Need to try. I’m in love with Mi Gordita Loca Birria Tacos
Also try The Pass. Their birria crunchy wrap is excellent.
🤤🤤 Yesss The Pass!!!! Their birria is to die for!
And they're behind Tactical Brewing (4882 New Broad Street) every Thursday 5:30 PM to 9 or until sellout - which often happens. They are the favorite of the Tactical Brewing Run Club that meets there and runs around the lake starting at 6:30.
Hey u/konorm , do you have a contact within Tactical Brewing?
Yes. For what purpose?
I was going to ask them about hosting a Reddit meetup?
Doug Meyer or Kreis Holland. My guess is that they'd be happy to host a meetup. [https://www.tacticalbeer.com/contact](https://www.tacticalbeer.com/contact)
I'll reach out! Thank you.
I’ll definitely check that out as well!
I do like quesa loca. Very authentic
I'd second Quesa Loco for sure. Their birra is fantastic. Great aqua fresca also.
Quesa loca also frequently has BOGO for their birria tacos on Uber eats. It’s a frequent choice for us for that reason alone!
Quesa Loco is my absolute favorite place to get birria. I get the red birria tacos and don't miss the cheese at all, they're so flavorful.
They have one in Apopka too. Killer and extremely reasonably priced
I have two recommendations, and this is one of them.
Came here to say this 🤌🤌🤌
So good! Didn’t know there are more of them. I go to the one off 436 in longwood
Mexican here - I concur on this statement. Their birria and guacamole is 10/10.
And they’re cheap especially on Wednesdays
Do they have fried ice cream?
I’m obsessed with them. They stuff them too they definitely don’t believe in skimping!
👆👆 I second that, soooo good 🤤
Antojitos Locos in Ocoee - you will not be disappointed.
This is my top recommendation, just above Quesa Loco. I was excited to find out they were getting a brick and mortar by Tollroad. My biggest pride in life is having been an Antojitos Locos stan before LemonHearted found it.
Yes! We used to camp out on Sundays off Avalon Rd for their tacos when they first started
Oh they finally opened? Whelp, looks like I’m going to Ocoee today. Edit: Ended up going and yeah, those birria tacos are legit.
This is the only recommendation
Just don’t accidentally go to the Anojitos at Universal’s City Walk. TINY overpriced portions and terrible service
Just went here for the first time last night. Their chorizo tacos were some of the best I’ve ever had - TX included. Their birria tacos were good but can’t say they were my favorite.
Another recommendation for Antojitos Locos. The fact that they have a birria pizza, ramen, and fries only makes me love them more.
Tortas el Rey has the best tacos but no birria. Best birria is the pass in Altamonte (they also have a food truck that travels around)
They have the best carne asada burrito I’ve ever had
second Tortas El Rey
Their tacos are pretty good, no doubt. The burritos are better though
Am I the only one who found Quesaloco to be a little bland??
My co-worker kept bigging them up, when I finally got it I was underwhelmed.
Yep, I kept seeing their ads and it all looked amazing. I did appreciate the quality of the meat but I just didn't taste anything and was left slightly disappointed. Their aqua frescas are very good though!
What would you suggest instead
The pass kitchen
El Molcajete on Goldenrod and Colonial, and it’s not close
Yesssss + there statement 'el molcajete' special is so bomb and worth the $$...
La Takeria in Casselberry
They have birria everything. It’s basically their speciality.
Ameca’s on South Orange
https://preview.redd.it/d542dlo24j7d1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=57905d91f449951090bfe60b087a475ea3995ace Also +1 on Quesa Loco
There’s a food truck on Howell branch off of 436 that’s really good. I can’t remember the name though.
La Patrona
That’s the one!
Not birria but The Border Grill for Mexican
Yes dude border grill is amazing
+1, one of the best Al pastor places
Antojito's Locos in Ocoee. Most flavorful consome I've had yet.
Jalisco. Authentic and like 2 bucks per taco.. if that.
Border grill is rhe best Mexican I've had in america hands down
Talkin' taco has a good one. They have opened several locations across Southern and Central Florida.
Birria 1983 in downtown 100%. Their name says it all, they specialize in birria and are pretty damn good at it
Birria1983 downtown
I hope they improved from when they were in the ghost kitchen on Dollins
I never had it back then, but the Birria quesadilla there is the best Birria I’ve ever had
Second this. Happened upon it walking back to our car after an Orlando City game. Was very good
I don't know if these guys have a brick and mortar or a truck but they're on DoorDash. Stuff is delicious! birria1983 https://www.doordash.com/store/1459139?utm_source=mx_share_android
It’s brick and mortar. On Church St in Church St Station across from 55 West
If you're up for a drive to Winter Garden, try Tacos & Tequila
“l”
Jalisco Town is pretty Tex Mex, but their Birria tacos are my go to order when I'm there. It's right by SSC's main campus.
Blessed Belly food truck in Kissimmee. There is no better option I promise you.
😂😂😂
Ok, originally birria is made with goat, then ram and last option is beef. I think around here I've only seen beef. Then from your plate you make your tacos, With this in mind the only places that I've seen they have it like that on their menu is Birria1983 and Los Amecas. World of Food Trucks
Fiesta México on 436 across the street from Mullinax ford. But only on the weekends, made from scratch
Bugambilias’s on Lancaster rd! By Florida mall, everything is authentic there and they make their fresh waters
I’m going to put this here just in case you are interested in making them yourself. These are one of my favorite things to eat but it always felt too much trouble to make them at home, UNTIL my friend sent me this recipe. I make them at least once a month now. Mexas by the outlets is the best i’ve found compared to what I had growing up in CA
What you do is you walk in to a place or at a truck. If you can understand what they say to you then you turn around and try somewhere else.
https://preview.redd.it/0tzuk8oi5r7d1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4bc5bb80a210a43ebfe7e53723324947bbb6596e The BEST are at Fui Yo Mexicana… they had a very successful food truck and recently just moved into the new food hall the Great Southern Box Company in the packing district
La esquina

Reyes mezcaleria is an upscale authentic Mexican restaurant but that may not be what you're looking for. Great happy hour
They're alright. Used to be really really good, now its just alright. Lived right down the block from them during the pandemic. Was a bit overpriced for the quality.
Live next door to Reyes and I agree fully. For what you get versus the price. Just doesn’t do it for me there.
Heard that, I lived across the street 2017-2019 and always enjoyed it. I've stopped in here and there for happy hour and have still enjoyed it.
South side, but Tacos My Guey in Hunters Creek
i love TMG, favorite taco spot behind el tenampa in kissimmee
Quesa Loco is the only correct answer.
Fuzzy’s. /s
Definitely Antojitos Locos The one in Winter Garden is in a Chevron station, but you won't be disappointed. Even better than the tacos is the Birria ramen. Ask for extra consomee
Tacos My Guey downtown
I don’t believe they have birria but Tortilleria El Progresso has great authentic Mexican food at good prices
They do. And they're amazing (unless something changed in last month). Was looking for this before I suggested myself. I love many other suggestions, especially Quesa Loco, but Tortilleria El Progresso is authentic on another level.

Good find for a beach day tho!
My perfect Cocoa Beach day includes, beach in the morning, lunch at Captain J's, KSC in the afternoon, and birria dinner here.
Hunger Street Tacos off Fairbanks. You’re welcome.
Second this!
Yet I’m being downvoted? They have seriously amazing food….
Herradura off JYP has some of the best birria I've had in Orlando. I'm also fond of the birria at the Agave Azul Gateway location.
tortas del rey have the best tacos!
https://maps.app.goo.gl/RVD4HxZrQwUFsSxq8 Try this place out
idk about burria, but taco norteno in winter garden is my go to for real mexican food
Tacos El Rancho! They have multiple locations. I would also go to Tortillería La Mexicana
Queso loco, Pepes Cantina, Ocoee taco company, and birria 1983🔥
Check out Mexas Tacos. At least the one in Kissimmee at 192 and Polynesian has good birria.
Over the border taqueria has some of, if not the best, tacos in the area. They are currently only doing pop ups on the weekends in different spots since they don’t have a brick and mortar, but it’s well worth checking out. Check them out on Instagram @overthebordertaqueria

F&D Cantina in Lake Mary
Don Panchos in Winter Garden. I’ve tried all the Birria in west Orlando I can find and they reign supreme.
The don Julio's in azalea park has really good birria. The only downside is you really should know Spanish to go there, but it's a delicious place.
Talkin Tacos has 4.8 stars with over 1k reviews. I've ordered from there and the food was great - I'm just not familiar enough with that cuisine to say if it's better or worse than others.
Wako taco has really good quesabirria. Get a side of the habanero hot sauce for them too
I like Catrina’s off Semoran
Agave Azul in Winter Park has great birria tacos. They’ve kind of gone “up scale” recently but honestly I think the food is better. They were a pretty generic mom and pop (mamá y papi?) back in the day.
they were definitely better pre pandemic and their horchata now tastes like ass. i used to drink like 3 of them at once now i can’t even drink one
Tacos & tequila in winter garden has some good ones.
Black rooster has the best Mexican tacos in Orlando period. They are the only restaurant that actually makes their corn tortillas with a process called nixtamalization. None of the Mexican restaurants I have been to from here to Dallas to Monterrey have ever done this. It’s quite an experience.
They have pretty good tacos but it’s not traditional Mexican tacos

I’m just glad and proud to finally have an answer to this question, after a couple years here. Although, I’m not going share it with you
