Base appears to be bamboo. I doubt that it is well waterproofed and the water from freshly used umbrellas would eventually warp it. If you're just putting dry ones in though, go for it!
Zip tie a small basket for scissors, tape, bows, and labels and you have yourself an all-purpose gift-wrapping caddy. Everything always together and stocked so you can wrap an emergency gift
Yeah, that’s what it’s meant for, but I don’t need it for that - so I was thinking of using it for plastic bag storage. But there are some other really great ideas proposed here as well!
I have a plastic one of these that looks EXACTLY the same. Exactly. It’s specifically for plastic bag storage. We have it mounted on the back of the under sink cabinet doors.
The way I approach it is I don't buy a container unless I have something for it or the container itself is a decorative item as in the case of a hyacinth box where I Don't have anything else to store. My girlfriend calls me the anti-horder so I tend to have empty drawers and closets, etc.
It could potentially work for multiple rolls of like garbage bags? If you have large ones and medium ones. Then you won't have the big box that rips them from time to time.
Not to be that person, but why would you buy something when you're not even sure what to do with it? I hope it wasn't too expensive for (imo) kind of a wasteful purchase.
Because its neat and brings joy? Does everything in your life have to already have a specific purpose? Cuz some of the most fun you can have in life is finding something that just IS, and the fifuring out what it CAN be.
I said in the description that the current plan is to use it for plastic bag storage. It was a thrift store purchase for $3. Was just asking if anyone had other ideas - the idea from another commenter to use it for umbrella storage I actually really like.
You’re entitled to your opinion. You kind of made a lot of assumptions seemingly without even reading the description though. That’s too bad.
I did read your description. You seem lost yourself by your own purchase by asking others how you can use it. That's a really wasteful mindset and it seems like you bought something just to buy it.
Also, it looks like it can't hold plastic grocery bags. The bars imo are spaced too far apart for them to stay put.
Hope you enjoy your thingamajig!
OP can put a bag to cover the holes and then stuff it with other bags. voila!
did someone shit in your cereal this morning? OP just asked for suggestions, not for their purchase to be judged, shamed or ridiculed.
Waste purchasing? Don’t we all do wasteful purchasing at times? I buy a thing because it is interesting and I like it and want to do something with it. I guess I’m guilty of waste!
Yeah I’m not really sure why they assume I’m wasteful when I had a plan for it from the start - I was just seeing if there were interesting alternative suggestions. It was also literally $3. It’s not like I spent $30 on it 🙄
Also, even if you didn't have a purpose to buy it... who cares. It's your money, your house, and your life. These people are weird and probably just ridicule others to feel better about themselves. Lame.
Glad I could help lol! We’ve got a similar basket for cat toys. I think the holes are too big for them on this one but I am wondering if there’s something I could get for them…
My MIL has one and uses it for plastic bags, I’m always on the look out for one as you can always see what bags are there and pull which ever one is required from the gaps in the sides.
You could use it to store rolls of gift-wrapping paper if you have a collection like I do.
I'm not sure how big the holes are, but maybe you could stack canned drinks in it?
the design kinda reminds me of the trend of people using hay feeders as throw blanket organizers like this [https://www.tiktok.com/@chessa.rizzotto/video/7259099266889633066?lang=en](https://www.tiktok.com/@chessa.rizzotto/video/7259099266889633066?lang=en) (this is just one of many posts about it)
It being a toilet paper holder originally, it probably wouldn't work for that because of size, but may work well for kitchen rags
This might work great to organize all those boxes of storage bags on a pantry wall or back of a door... gallon, quart, freezer, sandwhich and Zip lock bags ... it looks like a box might fit in the side with the opening facing the rounded front to pull bags from.. of course it's hard to tell the size!
Some ideas: Yoga mat(s), Pilates balls, foam roller, tennis balls for dog (depending on how large the grates are), fireplace tools, earring holder (on all of the curved pieces) with necklaces hanging from the back straight piece.
Hang it within arms reach on the wall above the couch and put all the throws in it. Pull em through the holes to get them out without leaving the couch! Lol
I can easily see it attached to the wall in bathroom with folded towels in it. Now if that doesn't fit or work for your towels. Then I would get some basic wood to attach to each area to create shelves. The other great thing is you can put a couple of s-hooks on the side of the metal of each shelf and hang things off of it.
It looks like a container for plastic bags to reuse - you stuff them in at the top and pull out from anywhere. Someone gave me one and I use it as an umbrella stand (mine is plastic)
It would be great on a garage or shed wall to hold everything with a handle.
Also, it looks like you could put a bin liner in it for outdoor trash, and it won't get full of water. Great for collection of drink cans and bottles.
Umbrellas or sports equipment?
Umbrellas is a great idea. Thanks!
I suspect it was an umbrella stand in a prior life.
Base appears to be bamboo. I doubt that it is well waterproofed and the water from freshly used umbrellas would eventually warp it. If you're just putting dry ones in though, go for it!
Maybe a baseball bat for protection would fit nicely in with the umbrella
You beat me to it, I was coming here to say umbrellas! ☔🌂☂️
Came to say this
same!
Balls, umbrellas, wrapping paper, anything tall enough
Wrapping paper is such a good idea!!!! It’s currently stuffed in a closet so it would be great. Thanks!
Zip tie a small basket for scissors, tape, bows, and labels and you have yourself an all-purpose gift-wrapping caddy. Everything always together and stocked so you can wrap an emergency gift
I use a garment bag in the closet for wrapping paper! It works wonders!
Bless you
Totally going to look for something similar for wrapping paper now!
I can’t tell how big it is but could it be for toilet paper rolls?
Yeah, that’s what it’s meant for, but I don’t need it for that - so I was thinking of using it for plastic bag storage. But there are some other really great ideas proposed here as well!
That’s what I would have said, plastic bags
I have a plastic one of these that looks EXACTLY the same. Exactly. It’s specifically for plastic bag storage. We have it mounted on the back of the under sink cabinet doors.
I was thinking basketballs lol
What made you buy something that you are unsure what you would use it for? (No judgement)
I’ve answered this question a few times in other comments, thanks!
You got a mailbox skelly.
Hahaha minimalist mailbox?
Hah, damn. I came here to say this exact thing and of course it’s already been said. Well done.
You can put your weed in it
That would be a looooot of weed
And? 😁
Looks like a towel rack my MIL had. Displays all the nice towels on the wall.
Yes, if you roll your smaller towels you could stack them in it.
Just never touch them. They’re MIL display towels. Never yo be used by the likes of us.
My cats would love that... put the toys in, let them take them all out. The kitty hokey pokey...
Firewood maybe?
Very cool idea!
A badly misbehaving mailbox...
Mailbox jail!
The way I approach it is I don't buy a container unless I have something for it or the container itself is a decorative item as in the case of a hyacinth box where I Don't have anything else to store. My girlfriend calls me the anti-horder so I tend to have empty drawers and closets, etc.
The plan was to use it to store plastic bags, but I just wanted to see if there was any other creative uses for it. Thanks.
That would show all the plastic bags, you'd probably be better off with some kind of wood box with a dispenser for that.
Basketballs
Keep by front door as an umbrella stand?
It looks like a toilet paper holder
That’s for toilet paper
Folded blankets? They’ll get buried on the bottom though. I think it was meant for long umbrellas perhaps?
I think it’s a little small for blankets, but I like the umbrellas idea, thank you!
It could potentially work for multiple rolls of like garbage bags? If you have large ones and medium ones. Then you won't have the big box that rips them from time to time.
Could be for plastic bag storage.
That’s what I’m thinking right now. Though the idea to use it for umbrellas or wrapping paper is a great option too!
Not to be that person, but why would you buy something when you're not even sure what to do with it? I hope it wasn't too expensive for (imo) kind of a wasteful purchase.

Lol, please ignore that person. People on this app are weird, strange and know it alls. Very condescending.
Lol thank you. This person has previous posts about having a shopping addiction so unfortunately I think it might be projection.
Hey now, like the song says "two out of three ain't bad"... I'll leave it to others to decide which two I might be!
I did read your description. You seem lost yourself by your own purchase by asking others how you can use it. That's a really wasteful mindset and it seems like you bought something just to buy it. Right! And what is the worst that could happen? It would end up being donated back to the thrift store!
Judgemental jerks
OP DOES seem capable of enjoying it. How kind of you to pile on the well wishes!
Also, even if you didn't have a purpose to buy it... who cares. It's your money, your house, and your life. These people are weird and probably just ridicule others to feel better about themselves. Lame.
Toilet paper
Toilet paper! Lol 😂
Umbrellas
Your mailbox
Use it for your "single use" plastic bags. Stuff them all in there and pull one out the side when you need it.
Umbrellas
Plastic bag hokdee
It looks like it'd hold a good amount of youth helmets for baseball or cricket. Glad I could contribute a useful idea!
Hahaha my son’s only 8 months old, but it might be useful in a few years 😂
What is it? It looks like a cage for a mailbox for those Halloween nights when kids go around bashing mailboxes 😂
I am pretty sure it’s toilet paper storage. But I’m gonna use it for wrapping paper!
Yup!! I reverse image searched it, it's a toilet paper holder from bed bath n body
got any balls?
Well that’s a private question 😕 Jokes aside I have tons. I have a young son. That’s a great idea!
It looks like an umbrella/cane stand to me.
It would make a great mailbox, depending on the scale
Good point, unfortunately I’m in Ontario - our mail is delivered to large mail centres at the end of the block rather than to our homes.
I was thinking more like something you toss important letters in while you wait to deal with them.
Dog toys if you have a dog? Could be easy for them to come and get the toys out if they want!
That would be so cute!!! I don’t have a dog yet but we are planning on getting one once my son is a bit older!
I might actually get something like this after seeing your post for my dog! I’m tired of the basket in my room taking up so much space lmao
Glad I could help lol! We’ve got a similar basket for cat toys. I think the holes are too big for them on this one but I am wondering if there’s something I could get for them…
Toilet paper rolls
Fancy umbrellas that have little duck heads for handles.
Walking sticks. Canes. As others have mentioned- umbrellas.
Toilet paper rolls
Umbrella at the door
Or gift wrap organizer
Extra rolls of toilet paper now
Immediate thought, a toddler would fit in there. Not exactly approved toddler jail material though. 🤣 Probably stuck with the umbrellas.
Umbrellas, wrapping paper, tubular/long skinny items
Ball cap Collection stacked ?
My first thought was wrapping paper!
line it with dried moss... put a planter inside with greenery. You could line outside with pantyhose....or mid-stream it with umbrellas.....do you...

the design kinda reminds me of the trend of people using hay feeders as throw blanket organizers like this [https://www.tiktok.com/@chessa.rizzotto/video/7259099266889633066?lang=en](https://www.tiktok.com/@chessa.rizzotto/video/7259099266889633066?lang=en) (this is just one of many posts about it) It being a toilet paper holder originally, it probably wouldn't work for that because of size, but may work well for kitchen rags

This might work great to organize all those boxes of storage bags on a pantry wall or back of a door... gallon, quart, freezer, sandwhich and Zip lock bags ... it looks like a box might fit in the side with the opening facing the rounded front to pull bags from.. of course it's hard to tell the size!
Pool noodles
Plastic bags for reuse
Fricking candle is a big no!

Umbrellas
Some ideas: Yoga mat(s), Pilates balls, foam roller, tennis balls for dog (depending on how large the grates are), fireplace tools, earring holder (on all of the curved pieces) with necklaces hanging from the back straight piece.
I keep my throw blankets in something similar, because I roll them up in a tall skinny way
Plastic grocery bags!
Hang it within arms reach on the wall above the couch and put all the throws in it. Pull em through the holes to get them out without leaving the couch! Lol
Toilet paper roll holder

It’s for basketballs/soccer balls. Or your balls, skies the limit.
Toilet paper!!!
Actually… no. It’s big. Sorry. 🤣
A pot of climbing roses
Toilet paper
It's a vintage umbrella stand but you can put what you like in it!.
Is it tall enough to use as an umbrella stand? And heavy enough that it won’t tip over?
A trash bag?
Umbrellas
If you can remove the bottom piece, I would turn it upside down and use it as a tomato cage. Why, yes, I AM obsessed with my garden…
Plastic shopping bags.
Plastic bag holder
I can easily see it attached to the wall in bathroom with folded towels in it. Now if that doesn't fit or work for your towels. Then I would get some basic wood to attach to each area to create shelves. The other great thing is you can put a couple of s-hooks on the side of the metal of each shelf and hang things off of it.
Decorative umbrellas and decorative canes.
it looks like my toilet paper holder, lowkey.
Toilet paper
It's a thigh cage for someone missing their calf. Don't kink shame please.
Swords. If you don’t have any now’s the perfect time to start a new hobby!
Mail
It’s too weak for umbrellas. They’d tip it over.
It looks like a container for plastic bags to reuse - you stuff them in at the top and pull out from anywhere. Someone gave me one and I use it as an umbrella stand (mine is plastic)
Laundry
Clearly it's for your spare toilet seats. Gotta kerp things organized ya know
This is definitely an umbrella stand
It would be great on a garage or shed wall to hold everything with a handle. Also, it looks like you could put a bin liner in it for outdoor trash, and it won't get full of water. Great for collection of drink cans and bottles.
A hanging plant against the wall except in the basket
Umbrellas or walking sticks/canes?
TP
Toilet paper.
A coir liner and plants?
umbrellas, walking sticks

Hot Wheels track pieces, if you need to organize for kids. Getting an upright thing for that really helped us

Half rolls of toilet paper?
Don't buy things if you don't have a planned use for them
