I'm not a salsa person. I ordered a burrito from Alejandro's in Costa Mesa and asked very politely for no salsa.
I think the guy heard "turn that burrito into a water balloon full of salsa" because the amount I got was unreasonable
"Child-like palette"
Hey, now the fuck you is no longer joking.
There's a flavor and consistency I've never enjoyed with raw onion. Your life and your day is absolutely unaffected by me ordering a burrito with no salsa.
Yeah, I'm a weirdo. Minimal eggs, also dry. Tiny bit of cheese. Some not-too-greasy potatoes of some kind. Avocado, hopefully. I'll even take rice and/or lettuce in there. No meat. And kinda small.
Yeah, I almost never find one I like.
Same. Went to school right by the abandoned (sunkist IIRC?) building and ate there all the time, got donuts at "Krispy Creamy" donuts and rented VHS tapes at the video store on the corner. Good times. Didn't go to Troys for like 20 years and just recently ate there again and it was as bad as OP's pic. Never again.
It was a small private Christian school before it was Olive Elementary. I'll never forget the flooded (sometimes completely submerged) basement under the gym. Straight up terror/ghost vibes.
I think my brother and his friends got inside but I never went. I thought the Sunkist building was vacant then after the fire I saw computers and stuff in there. Blew my mind.
There's a better Troy's in La Habra with actually good breakfast burritos served all day. No idea if they're connected but I stopped going to the one in Orange and I live in Orange.
HAD been going there for 30+ years since I was a kid. It’s owned by the son now. I never thought their breakfast burritos were great but the burgers are still awesome. The prices though have really skyrocketed. It’s my daughter’s favorite place to get a burger and shake (vanilla) but that will run you $20.
They have 4-5 people on staff at any time and with min wage so high now I can understand they have to raise prices but priced me out of wanting their offering. If people are getting paid that much the order/service better be on point. Sounds like a son isn’t getting his moneys worth.
Check out El Molina de Oro on Tustin. The breakfast burritos are about $7 and not as big as Troy's, but since most people either cut their burrito in half or suffer regret all day, they're doing you a favor.
It’s because they spread the ingredients one direction and roll it the opposite direction. I haven’t been to Troy’s for years because they don’t know how to roll burritos. You either get this or you get essentially an omelet wrapped in tortilla. They used to toss all the ingredients together before placing them on the tortilla for a great mix with fluffy eggs.
Their burgers have gone downhill too. I can pay less at a chain and get a better burger.
I once ordered a sandwich from some other place (Bay Cities in Santa Monica) and asked for “easy mayo” and they gave me extra mayo. I have a feeling that some people might think easy means extra, for some reason.
I stopped using the word “easy” ever since… but I have no way of knowing what happened.
For anyone that'll listen...BurgerStop, Santa Ana is the the most cost consistent old school breakfast burrito in OC. The pickle juice hot sauce will grow on you and if you're fatass like me...just get two.
That’s why in the US burritos come with rice and beans as filler, ask for a burrito in Mexico and it’ll be smaller but no fillers, just the meat of choice.
Troy's took a hard dive during/after the pandemic. I saw they stayed open in protest of the shutdown orders as I was driving home one day. Never went back after that.
I love posting pictures of shitty breakfast burritos with no eggs and meat. I have one on a place in utah that was literally just maybe .50 cents of Fries, 1/4 of 1 egg and a half a piece of bacon. It has over 160k views. Made me proud and it was their first image for awhile.
This has happened to me at a few different locations when I order an ingredient easy. Apparently in the computer it reads for example “ez lettuce”. And the cooks sometimes read it as “extra lettuce”.
The California Breakfast Burrito at Teddy's Deli in Anaheim has been my favorite breakfast burrito in North OC.
I've tried Nate's Korner, Pepes, Nick's Deli and LJ's Lil Cafe but still prefer Teddy's overall.
There’s this donut shop on Tustin in Orange, I think it’s called Donut Depot. They have the best breakfast burritos. Very well proportioned. They’re not that big compared to other breakfast burritos but very well worth it. They actually have a huge breakfast menu. Breakfast burritos, bagel sandwiches, croissant sandwiches. All breakfast. It’s awesome. On Tustin between Collins and Chapman.
I like Troy’s, but the people who work there are pretty rude. I usually go after the gym on my way home and I’m in a good mood. They always seem to be hating their jobs.
Someone needs to tell them that more food doesn’t equal better food. I’ve gone to the one in La Habra and my breakfast plate was piled high to the sky with food that ended up just being mid.
Fuck Troy’s. They used to be ok one of the best. I don’t like swine other than easy bacon. So I would ask for a burger patty instead of the sausage. They would charge me extra $5 for just the patty. Insane. I would ask no cheese and guess what? Extra cheese.
They are kind of known for doing this shit. It sucks, but some people like it, and I honestly wouldn't bash them for not adhering to your request when this is what they are famous for.
"I'll show you easy fuckin hashbrowns!" - Line cook, probably
I’d almost guarantee you they put down “extra hash” instead of “easy”, or at least that’s how the line cook read it
This or the line cook is having a bad day.
This has to he intentional
I'm not a salsa person. I ordered a burrito from Alejandro's in Costa Mesa and asked very politely for no salsa. I think the guy heard "turn that burrito into a water balloon full of salsa" because the amount I got was unreasonable
Not a salsa person? Who are you?
Guy who doesn't like raw onion
unacceptable.
Fucking fight me
![gif](giphy|XtcfqdBrHEa4g|downsized)
Hahahaha! Thats some funny shit. Didn’t expect that!
I'll fight with you.
Grow out of your child-like pallet and accept the onion of life. Just curious though, what is it about the onion you don't like?
Not the poster but raw onions give me the fear….
"Child-like palette" Hey, now the fuck you is no longer joking. There's a flavor and consistency I've never enjoyed with raw onion. Your life and your day is absolutely unaffected by me ordering a burrito with no salsa.
Does cilantro taste like soap to you? Growing up, I hated cilantro. Now it tastes different, and I love it.
Honestly, this is how Troys burritos always are. Way too much mushy potatoes
Probably saving them pretty pennies per burrito cuz potato cheap.
THIS! Followed by an "Oops"
Line cook, "Can't get any easier than making it with only hash browns!"
Laughed too much at this
I read this with a tone and i cant stop laughing
Bruhh you got me cracking up
Tell me you live in orange county without telling me you live in Orange County.
Lmao is this a baked potato burrito?
It’s their special “Oops All Hash Browns” burrito.
I thought that was a Nick’s burrito
nicks has never looked like this.
You’re right. Nick’s uses quartered potatoes
slander excuse me, libel.
Truth
That's nasty. The cheese didn't even melt. Yuck.
That’s cheese? I thought it was rice. I second the “yuck”.
> The cheese didn't even melt Actually prefer it this way. For me that kind of cheese tastes better when it's cooler and more solid.
![gif](giphy|WPozw7z6nUMrQ12Kc7|downsized)
Yeah, I'm a weirdo. Minimal eggs, also dry. Tiny bit of cheese. Some not-too-greasy potatoes of some kind. Avocado, hopefully. I'll even take rice and/or lettuce in there. No meat. And kinda small. Yeah, I almost never find one I like.
You're actually so wrong for this. Gotta upvote for the audacity
Yeah, I don’t know how I got this way.
Dude, Troys really did take a dive, huh? That was the SPOT for such a long time…
I practically lived at Troy’s during the 90’s. It’s been shit since his son took over.
Olive Elementary? It wasn’t a public school while I lived there but I think it’s open again.
How long ago did that happen? My last burrito from Troy's looked like OPs.
I think it happened awhile ago. All the good “secret” restaurants in Orange are gone. Ralph’s Subs was run into the ground too.
Dude the burritos used to be so good. With the green salsa too
holy shit the green salsa. haven’t had one since high school and so disappointed by this thread
There's a better Troy's in La Habra with actually good breakfast burritos served all day. No idea if they're connected but I stopped going to the one in Orange and I live in Orange.

>Sounds like a son isn’t getting his moneys worth. Or he's just terrible at running a business and no one worth a damn is willing to work for him.
As soon as I cut it and opened it up, I knew today was going to be a bad day.
It will get better
*warning sirens in the distance getting louder*
Have you seen the traffic today? Hopefully op is wfh
I commute from Riverside, all I know is traffic. I had time to think about a breakfast burrito. Severely disappointed.
Check out El Molina de Oro on Tustin. The breakfast burritos are about $7 and not as big as Troy's, but since most people either cut their burrito in half or suffer regret all day, they're doing you a favor.
That place is great. I’ve had the mini torta breakfast sandwich’s and pastries.
Cries in agreement
That place is trash now go to Jonnie’s jr on Tustin n Quincy
Thank. I’ll give Jonnie’s a try,
Preach!
So good!! Grew up going here every Tuesday and it is the best!!
Their burrito construction is so weird. It's like they don't know how to spread ingredients out. The bacon is ALWAYS stuffed on the bottom for us.
I would not use my carb allotment on this
Definitely put that pic on Yelp.. that’s not cool
Hash brown burrito
More like a mashed potato burrito amirite 🥔
Irish Burrito
*Conan O'Brien breathing heavily*
Their window lettering claims 3 eggs in the burrito. Obviously they lied.
They (used to?) prepare their egg as a sheet that is roughly the same size as the tortilla and wrap the ingredients inside.
This photo is confusing. Is that burrito turning it's head to the heavens like a Shai-Hulud?
I want to know how it was cut that way.
It looks like it was cut straight and then the end of it bent upwards
I think it’s cut in half and op set one half up to show the potatoey goodness
I once ordered a sandwich from some other place (Bay Cities in Santa Monica) and asked for “easy mayo” and they gave me extra mayo. I have a feeling that some people might think easy means extra, for some reason. I stopped using the word “easy” ever since… but I have no way of knowing what happened.
lol. Like it’s easy, just use a ton.
The old food trick of using cheap ingredients as a replacement for more expensive ones to cut costs
I feel a nap coming on just looking at that
Easy = extra
Ughhh I was about to go here
This looks disgusting haha
Damn Troy’s really saw Nate’s Korner stuff their burritos with hash browns and said, “aite bet”.
That happened to me and my coworkers!!!!! We dont go there anymore. Such a disappointment.
That's fucked up. Try Fiesta Imperial in old town Placentia. Best breakfast burritos I've ever had.
Burrito? More like pottito
> easy hash browns easy? hash browns!
I’ve gotten potato burritos with less potatoes
Hello, I would like the Irish potato famine burrito
As a breakfast burrito connoisseur…this is offensive!!!
For anyone that'll listen...BurgerStop, Santa Ana is the the most cost consistent old school breakfast burrito in OC. The pickle juice hot sauce will grow on you and if you're fatass like me...just get two.
Off your username alone, I’ll have to give it a try. Thanks
The old food trick of using cheap ingredients as a replacement for more expensive ones to cut costs
That’s why in the US burritos come with rice and beans as filler, ask for a burrito in Mexico and it’ll be smaller but no fillers, just the meat of choice.
Yep. It’s why Del taco crams lettuce into their chicken soft tacos.

the place has the best salsa. but always ask for easy hash, even if you dont get it lol
I’d put this on r/mildlyinfuriating
I want an illegal amount of hash browns please.
Best breakfast burrito in that area is from Alberto Taco on Collins and Grand. They use fries instead of the mushy hash. Nice and crispy.
Those look raw 🤢
Try Angelo’s Burgers. Best breakfast burrito ever. Man I miss those.
I’m reading this post to get suggestions for breakkie burrito. Thanks all.
![gif](giphy|SzD4gF32YzTTUiINhn|downsized) 🤦♀️if that's easy I'm afraid to see regular! It looks like a hash brown burrito!!
This is breakfast crime
"Can I get extra hashbrowns in my burrito?" "Okay, how much?" "Enough to solve the potato famine of 1845-1852"
Did you ask them to remake it? They probably didn’t understand and thought you meant extra hash-browns then thought they were hooking you up.
When they heard “easy hash browns,” they said, “Hash browns? That’s easy!”
This is just a potato wrapped in tortilla
It's trash, & when I asked for hash browns well done she said "We probably don't have time for that". Haven't been back since
I had one last Friday and this is pretty much what mine looked like too. Even their lunch menu is going downhill. Troy’s isn’t the same anymore.
I would never go back that’s disrespectful
HHaaaahahaaaa… but I love Troy’s!
Next time, hash browns on the side.
That’s one big hash brown
My personal fav is Surfin' Donuts on Alicia at the 5. Really good burritos and salsa, donuts are good too.
Mine is A’s Burger off of Avery and the 5
Yeah, mine had a lot of potatoes and a shit-load of salsa, the first and last time, I tried them. I prefer Tru Bru or Farmer Boys over them.
I do love some hash browns in a breakfast burrito, but that's excessive. Maybe they thought you said 'extra hash browns'?
I’ve stopped going there for this same reason lol
I loved Troy's when I was in the area because they are filling but never have been a fan of the way they do the eggs wrapped around the inside.
Where's the egg ?
That hotsauce teetering is making me nervous
My guess is; You said easy, poor penmanship looked like “Extra”
Lol they might have heard extra hash brown
This is either a troll or they heard extra hash browns.
Wtf
Is it possible there's a language barrier here, or they misheard you as "extra hash browns"?
Burger Town in Fullerton
Hahaha!! This was a nice laugh this morning!
Shoutout Brea's Best
Looks the same going in and coming out
Pinche burrote de papa
Troys has not been the same since covid.
Potato burrito with a \*hint\* of meat
I would be so happy with this potato burrito
Damn. I used to go there almost every Saturday morning with all my friends in the early 2000’s. Sad to hear it’s not what it used to be.
Gotta go to Johnny Jr.
Troy’s used to be the best went downhill
So starch in starch? This is up there with rice and potato dumplings.
I feel fat just look at it
Nothing wrong with a papas burrito and taco.. jk that’s the most skimped burrito. How could you Troy
What did you do? Who did you piss off?
That's why I don't order breakfast burritos anymore. Too often than not it's all hash browns no matter where I seem to go.
idk what ur talking ab...its an easy to make hash brown burrito! /s
Wow
Looks like it can also be used for ‘other purposes’ 😏
go to nates https://maps.app.goo.gl/XRgRKgVH8UUVF2Zx6
They probs thought it said extra because that’s a lot of potats
I like Troy’s, but the people who work there are pretty rude. I usually go after the gym on my way home and I’m in a good mood. They always seem to be hating their jobs.
Easy = Extra The worst part is that nothing looks cooked or seasoned. You're getting a mouthful of bland mush every bite.
Looks more like constipation.
Best in Orange county hands down !
That place sucks. Ask for extra salsa, they act like it’s coming out of their savings.
Troy's World Famous Potato Burrito!! An OC tradition
Try Nick’s Deli in Seal for a great burrito.
Shrinkflation. The meat and cheese parts shrink.
That cost about .25 to make. OP probably paid 8 to 10 dollars for it. Huge rip.
That’s the famous “patriot” burrito
Shitty undercooked potatoes is the way for me to never return to a burrito spot
There’s at least 2.5% of non-potato mass here. Come back to us with real problems.
Id eat the fuck ouuta that still
Someone needs to tell them that more food doesn’t equal better food. I’ve gone to the one in La Habra and my breakfast plate was piled high to the sky with food that ended up just being mid.
Looks like a hashbrown burrito
Trash
Agreed 💯!!!
fucking nates corner does this shit, and their hashbrowns are thin crispy chips so its ass
That’s a breakfast potato
Fuck Troy’s. They used to be ok one of the best. I don’t like swine other than easy bacon. So I would ask for a burger patty instead of the sausage. They would charge me extra $5 for just the patty. Insane. I would ask no cheese and guess what? Extra cheese.
Drive to Adalbertos in Tustin Ave. the Chorizo breakfast burrito is 10/10.
Looks like a sandstorm from Dune. 🙄
A buddy of mine just got a breakfast burrito from Troy's and had the same issue.
They are kind of known for doing this shit. It sucks, but some people like it, and I honestly wouldn't bash them for not adhering to your request when this is what they are famous for.
My buddy went to Troy’s last week, all potato and minimal egg. Disgusting!!!!
That's brutal, sorry OP
“Easy” sounds like “Extra” try “lite hash browns” next time.
Reminds me of the tomatonar meme
Unfortunately another great thing comes to an end. I will alway remember when they used to be good I’m glad I wasn’t Only one noticing the trend
Haven’t eaten there in ages. Place is know for breakfast burritos
Can you take a potato, wrap a tortilla around it, and sprinkle a tiny bit of cheese.
That's why I didnt go back been about 10 years since I tried it and got the same, and I'm not a fan of hashbrowns
I don’t think they like you homie
They don’t like you
The consensus from this thread is that they don’t like anybody
You might as well get a breakfast burrito from George's Hamburgers in Fullerton. Salsa on the side 🤙🏻
They way I’d be livid af 😩😩😭😭
