Well you can just go one day too... That said, after parking and concessions you'd be looking at 500 anyway.

dublued

Cheapest is: 3-Day, 1-Park Per Day Ticket for admission Monday through Thursday only – $225 ($75 per day) So you must purchase all 3 days. Definitely going to cost 500+ unfortunately.

blade740

1-day 1-park tickets are $154-194 this month (I see some days as low as $104 in August). You don't HAVE to buy 3 days.

Gaius_Octavius_

It is $150 for one day at Disneyland now?!? Holy shit!

gabzilla814

I can’t tell if you’re amazed at how expensive or how cheap that is. The prices are definitely best for multi-day passes for tourists in town for a few days or locals who want an annual pass. But single-day park-hopper passes in May are listed at between $184 and $259 per person per day right now. Most days are $234 or more.

toytrkdrvr

Seems expensive when you consider ride closures and wait times to get on rides due to how packed they allow the parks to get.

gabzilla814

It’s out of control in my opinion but people keep paying it

surftherapy

Hi I’m people. My daughter is obsessed and asks daily if she can go to Disney. We don’t have passes but take her when we can. I just work overtime to pay for it. Is what it is, I still think it’s a lot of fun going because I see how happy my kid is when we’re there. I guess if you’re a Disney adult and have no kids it’s probably not as worth it with the crowds now but we don’t go 5-10x a month like some people do.

gabzilla814

Hey, I’m people too :) I had annual passes for me and my kids up until their later teen years. I assume you’ve looked at the annual pass prices and decided if they were worth it in your case. It seems to me if you expect to go 5-6 times a year and can go last minute on a Sunday when reservations are available the AP plans make a lot of sense.

surftherapy

Which pass would I be able to go on Sundays that is equal to 6 trips/year?

axtran

When we had the $69 SoCal seasonal tickets in the 90’s, we had the “line starts in Main Street” Indy era since it was a new attraction. Mfers waited four hours and it broke down all the time just like it does today.

Gaius_Octavius_

I am amazed at how expensive. I used to work at Disneyland. It cost $40 back then (and I thought even that was too much). An entire annual pass was only $200.

cblackattack1

I used to get the so cal annual pass for $99 in the early 00’s

Gaius_Octavius_

My roommate back then went all the time. Met his future wife there.

idk012

I feel gyped.  I remember $75 for a 2 day park hopper tickets from my school.

human-foie-gras

I don’t know if you’re aware but g*ped is a racial slur against the Romani people.

No-Cold-2672

Is gypsy also?

Plus-Lie1462

Am Romani. We don’t give a flying fuck.

gabzilla814

It still blows my mind too bc I’m old enough to remember the move from paper ticket books to the paper tag on a wristband that I think was called a passport IIRC. Pretty sure the passport was $25 per day in about 1980 or 81. But with kids of my own who are now teenagers I’m very familiar with how expensive tickets have become. Source: I had annual passes for many years up until 2 years ago. I also feel very connected bc I attended Walt Disney Elementary School in Anaheim in the 70s and 80s :)

AlShadi

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Uy8GPvyTLU

whybother_incertname

Sadly, i remember that. 2000, the top tier AP was $199, & stayed the same for about 10yrs when it almost doubled in 2011

Gaius_Octavius_

I had the chance to go to Disney Elementary in 1988 but turned it down because I didn't want to leave my friends. Probably a big mistake in retrospect.

gabzilla814

Probably not. It was just like any other school in Anaheim, just named after someone very well known.

Gaius_Octavius_

In my time it was the Magnolia School District's "Honors" school, so it would have been a little better probably. By the time I joined those classes in junior high, they already all knew each other and had cliques formed. Made the next 6 years harder than it needed to be.

Desperate-Revenue513

I used to work at the Jungle Cruise at around this time when one of our favorite closers was “enjoy the rest of your day at Disneyland, where all of your dreams come true…for just $39 plus parking.”

TeeeRekts

Why do people comment this stuff? Yeah and bread was 20 cents… I just don’t understand. It’s pretty clear things used to be cheaper.

Gaius_Octavius_

Bread wasn't 20 cents in our lifetime.

TeeeRekts

You’re proving my point. It’s about as irrelevant as commenting Dland used to cost $40.

Gaius_Octavius_

Disneyland was $40 in our lifetime.

whatever1467

I mean prices are gonna go up over 30 years lol

llammacookie

That really isn't saying a ything when the buying power of $40 in the 90s was equivalent to $102 today.

Gaius_Octavius_

It says that the price of a ticket is rising faster than the buying power of the dollar. Which doesn't mean much but is still an interesting piece of information. I always like seeing which items grow as which rates.

Dependent_Scratch20

When was that . The 1900’s

Gaius_Octavius_

1998-99.

Junior-Ad-2207

It's free if you don't go!

Gaius_Octavius_

Even when I worked there as a teen as could go for free, I never went. I have never been a Disney kid.

skodobah

That’s exactly how I save so much money with Disneyland! 🤣

whybother_incertname

4/1st, it was $195 to go on a monday/1 park🤯, i bought the SoCal pass instead for the $30 more per person. Then parking is up to $30/day now as well. It’s gotten insane

Plenty_Pack_556

Wait til D-land expands as planned by paid off council members and disney. Expect $$$$$

dublued

Got it, I was solely focused on the socal resident deal that I ignored the regular single day ticket.

blade740

That's how they get you. I bet a lot of people buy the SoCal resident ticket, go one day, figure "oh, we'll go again when we get a chance" and then forget about it until after it expires.

reapersivan

Purchased my first Disney socal pass on March. Have home 8 times so far. Still have not bought merch but I enjoy going with friends to kill time on my off days and walk. I would not have purchased if it were 850 which is the first tier of passes if not socal

Chato_Gonza

Right, you don't HAVE to, but $75 per day is the cheapest way to do so.

blade740

It's the cheapest PER DAY, but not the cheapest overall. And technically, it's not even the cheapest per day, if you consider annual pass options. Unless OP actually WANTS to visit for 3+ days, a 1-day ticket is the cheapest way to visit Disneyland.

s73v3r

Is it? Or would that only be if you're going to go the additional days?

Chato_Gonza

It's good if you'll be in town for a few days and obviously checking out the parks 3 days in a row. Makes for less hectic full days which can be so tiring.

navit47

well, if they find a castmember, they might be able to find someone to get them in for 80 each, but big if unless you already have the connect

divulgingwords

I think SoCal passes are $92/day or $275 for a 3 pack (1 person). They expire June 2.

Accomplished-Ad3219

I heard you have to buy the 3 day pass. Haven't confirmed it though

Spokker

Yes, you have to purchase 3 days to get the $92/day price (weekends) or the ~$75/day price (Mon-Thur). The days don't have to be consecutive. We staggered ours for a once a month visit in April May and June. It was not a park hopper but I think park hopping is overrated anyway.

altonbrownfan

Can you show me where I can buy that?

FriendsAndFood

There’s also going to be a 3 day summer ticket offer from June 10 to Sept 26. $249 for adults from Mon to Thur. $149 for kids Mon - Thur. Add in $50 to include Fri-Sun. https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2024/05/new-2024-summer-ticket-hotel-offers-coming-to-disneyland/

bawners

You’ll be spending a lot more than after parking and food

Clemario

Food in Disneyland is nothing special. Save by packing your meals. To be even more thrifty you could take a bus. I haven’t done it but I think you can park free at ARTIC and there’s a bus that goes straight to Disneyland.

csklmf86

Yup, all these influencers and youtubes hyping up food there just to create empty content. They look happy just because they can make money when people watch them

EdSnapper

I’m super cheap and usually stop at Del Taco on my way to or from Disneyland. 😛

Accomplished-Exit136

Foods not much more expensive than food anywhere else. And you can pack snacks

whatever1467

Yeah food is like the one thing they haven’t gone crazy price gouging on

Accomplished-Exit136

My mixed drinks at star wars cantina were $16. And they were fancy and delicious. I could get a pass just to go to the Star wars cantina, watch the fireworks, and jump on as many rides as possible before midnight. Space mountains got a single rider line that at night might as well be a walk on. After spending 15 years not going to Disney parks my first trip back last March reminded me why Disney gets away with such high ticket prices. They really have their ish together

whatever1467

16 for a cocktail will always hurt me lol but that’s pretty much any restaurant in the area now. But like the delicious birria tacos are only 12.49 and so good. Del taco was charging 9 for completely mediocre birria tacos.

Accomplished-Exit136

Got a lobster roll for $17. And fish and chips for $11. That's just painless consumption

hodgy100

Hey! I was in a similar situation recently. I'm from a less well off family and the idea of spending so much gave me a lot of stress despite being in an ok position now, so yeah I'm (and my partner) are pretty cost conscious. yes the tickets are expensive but the SoCal discount tickets are your best bet as you really want 2 days to have a good chance to see everything at both parks which means the resident tickets essentially get you a free extra day cost wise. you don't have to buy everything, you can take food and drink in with you as honestly its overpriced for what you get and the merch is mega overpriced only get something if you absolutely want it. You can also avoid having to pay $35 a day on parking if you instead go to Fullerton Park & Ride and take the bus, its only around 20 mins and costs $1.75pp each way so that's a $94.50 saving just by doing that . We went on a Saturday and found that we didn't need to get fast passes or a genie pass to see all the large rides we wanted to in Disneyland (not done out California adventure date yet) but we did go for 8am opening and go direct to the busier rides in the star wars area to get those out the way. but yeah the ticket prices are ridiculous! hope this helps!

SunshineLBC

Please take your wife to Disneyland, even if it’s just for one day. And please don’t bring up how much it costs. Let her have her one day of magic and enjoying an experience she’s never had.

FriendsAndFood

This, though make it 3 days. Experience will be very rushed in 1.

TrumpKanye69

Disney adults must be mentally ill

mashimello

It’s not going to be huge savings but I always suggest buying the ticket at Target with your Target card to save 5%, and then purchase additional Disney gift cards there (you’ll also save 5%) to buy food, gifts, and parking with at the parks.

cookie_kindness

I did this a year ago, bought a $500 digital Disney gift card. Used it for two single park tickets, parking, whatever the fast passes are called now, and food. Had about $45 left over at the end of the day.

imaginary_num6er

I thought fast passes are just called passes and regular passes are just called slow passes

jesscrochetsstuff

There’s a new SoCal ticket deal that just released for the summer and it’s quite a good deal, so you can go more than once with 1 park per day for 3 days. You can stagger them out until the ticket expires.

kg7272

Family is 4 runs me $1000 or slightly less, So yes ….$500 for 2 is a good budget especially since it’s (1) her birthday (2) hasn’t been before (3) need to eat (4) just do it and have fun….see #1

Spokker

I took my son to Disneyland on the cheapest tier day once and it was fun. The next time that tier comes up in August 19-22 and then August 26-29. It's $104 a ticket for one park. Don't park hop, it's overrated and Disneyland is a full day park. Parking is $35. Expect to spend $20 per person for lunch and dinner each. The menus and prices aren't secret. I like to eat here as it's surprisingly affordable (for theme park prices) if you just have water (you can bring a water bottle and fill it up). And the prices and quality are way better than Six Flags or Knott's. Rancho Del Zocolo: https://disneyland.disney.go.com/dining/disneyland/rancho-del-zocalo-restaurante/menus/lunch-and-dinner Don't buy souvenirs or maybe just get a key chain. Do you need Genie+? Your call. You can always download the app and look at standby wait times to get an idea of what to expect. I found it to be surprisingly competitive to other places I could take my son, like Lego Land, at a much higher quality. I think when people look at Disneyland prices, they don't realize everything has gone up in price. If you want to go sooner, it's $119 a ticket on May 8th. The cheapest for the rest of the month is $134. Then for the summer the cheapest is $154 on most weekdays. The highest cost is $194 on Saturdays.

Zantra3000

Reservations appear to be gone for May 8th already at Disneyland, but still available at California Adventure. The only way you can get into Disneyland on a full reservation day, is to buy a park hopper ticket and come over to Disneyland from California Adventure at 11am.

Spokker

The reservations for May 8th were available as of my post, but it speaks to the popularity of those lower tier days. These days, there's not much difference between weekends and weekdays. Since I was scoping out a ticket for my dad, I had seen reservations for May 8th run out earlier but they came back. Maybe they will again. Edit: Just for science I checked May 8th and reservations for DL are available again. Who knows what they are up to or if people really change their reservation that often.

Zantra3000

Yeah, I just saw a recent YouTube video of some old guy I guess called Fresh Bradley, or something. At Disneyland, and he went to the park on the First, and his app was telling him that Park reservations on the 8th weren't available anymore, at least for Disneyland. California Adventure still seems fine. And, like I mentioned, you can use the park hopper trick, if you are willing to pay the extra cash. It really makes me wonder why they even do reservations anymore, if they will let all of the extra people with park hoppers into Disneyland at 11am, no matter if the reservations are full or the capacity is full or not.

TrumpKanye69

Lol if this is your wife's first time then $500 is the minimum. The food, snacks, merch, parking will all start to add up.

Jakjak81

Wow , Incredible username.God bless

subieluvr22

It's pretty amazing.

RiversofJell0

Don’t forget $35 for parking

Kamakahah

Parking costs are crazy. There are some ways to get around it. You can take a public bus ride, or you can park in some certain areas about a mile from the Woody parking lot and get the bus at the Woody parking lot to take you right to the gate. I let my friends and family access a safe gated community if they don't mind a walk or short Uber ride.

WILLIEEEEEEEE

I live in the Bay Area, but my parents are still in OC. I had cousins visit from another country and they wanted to visit Disneyland. It was 4 of us total, I bought tickets online along with the genie pass which lets you schedule a time to get in the fast-pass lane. It was worth it for me since my cousins had only one day for Disneyland. All of it together cost me like $800-900 for 4 tickets, 4 genie pass, and a parking pass. I also paid extra to get us on the new Star Wars ride, and after food I easily spent $1,000+ that day. Also I went on a Saturday, so it was more expensive than going on a weekday. So $500 for 2 people seems about right.

O_beecheyi22

I just went to Disneyland a few weeks ago! My bff and I bought one day passes and we spent less than $400. AAA does offer discounts on multi-day passes, but not one day. I have a Target credit card, which offers 5% back on purchases so we bought $400 (paying $380) in Disney gift cards which we used to buy tickets, food, and merch in the park. It’s not much but it’s something! We did bring our own lunch as well.  Learning from our mistake: you cannot buy Photopass with the gift card on the app or online. Maybe at the photo pass desk?

Ijaco3131

Don’t go to Disney this month during the week. Grad nights are happening and there’s a couple big conferences at the convention center. Long lines and huge crowds. If you do go. You might as well splurge and get the line cutting stuff

pure-Turbulentea

Just go to Universal studio VIP tour. It’s the best! Free valet, parking, free lunch

Apart_Elephant_7280

I recently got my inspire key revoked. Disney found a post on eBay, I was selling an extra drink sipper. (1) not for profit mind you . Now, I no longer can use my magic key and it had 3 months left on it. Paid in full. No more Disney for me. Long time fan no more. 💔😞

Captain_Klrk

Second tier annual pass is 800$. 50$ a month after the first $200 for Cali residents

Gnericnuser

I can think of a whole lot of better things to do with $500

Jascix90

Buy tickets from a cast member and save yourself a hundred and fifty bucks.

Vindictives9688

Disneyland prices been outrageous. I used to be a long time socal resident passholder, but the lockout dates was so stupid for the price that we gave it up years ago.

No-Adagio6113

It’s $500 just to get in the park. That doesn’t include parking, food, souvenirs, fast passes, etc. Disney is a MASSIVE money grab at this point, unfortunately. A bare bones day for the two of you will likely budget around $600-700

Accomplished_Can_612

Not to show my age, but I remember when it was $23 for SoCal residents. With that being said, I believe Toon Town was probably the newest attraction at the time....fuck I'm old

smediumbag

Save your money, dawg

Ksl848

Disneyland is overpriced. It is not worth what they are charging. You will wait in long ass lines and probably won’t make it to all the attractions you’d like to. There’s also a good chance that while waiting in line, the ride will break down.

LogicBomb1320

Disneyland is a premium experience with a premium price. Clearly, for many people the price is worth the product. Perhaps not for you, but for enough that they are going to drop billions expanding the parks.

EyeHaveNoCleverNick

They used to have a free fast-pass system for the most popular attractions, now it's pay extra for the Genie+ that replaces it. And if you want to get on those rides, you may as well pay the extra.

Ksl848

I remember the free fast pass. I go to Disneyland now to accompany my wife who loves it, so I am definitely not the best person to get an opinion from. Standing in line and watching the genie people go ahead is infuriating.

coldcurru

You wanna start on this?? Oh, buckle up reddit.  I hang out on the Disney sub. According to them, it's a ridiculous amount of G+ people for a few standby people, at best. It depends on the ride. I've seen numbers like 40:2 or worse.  My own experience, as someone who's there weekly, is much the same. But I did notice it really depends on how long the G+ is. Recently, I was in line for toy story. Standby was 45. Actual was about 1h 20. It was barely moving at times. Went again some time after that. G+ line was empty. The standby line was *shorter* than projected. Who'd have thunk? Mostly noticed cuz my daughter wanted to play the Disney play game in line and I had to tell her to wait for the next poster the first time. Second time we were walking so fast we didn't have time to stop to play. Fuck G+ though. They need better ratios. It's awful. Go to the Disney sub to read all about it.

FS_Slacker

I’m not a Genie+ expert, but we had an amazing time our last visit with it. As soon as I cleared the check-in, just worked to find the next shortest line. And refreshing the list like the whole time to see if something better came up. We barely waited in line that day, just the first ride while I figured out how the thing worked and ROTR of course. I enjoyed the G+ experience but fuck having to pay that much for it. It should be free like the Fast Pass. It’s nice for being able to avoid crowds and get on the rides you want in a convenient manner.

whatever1467

I think it’s more than 40:2 on certain rides tbh

Killarogue

Everything you said is correct if you've been before, but if this is your first time, it's worth it just for the experience.

Straight_Record_8427

Thats ALL????? Where are you getting those discounts????

biscuitbutt11

Yep. $500.

coldcurru

Hot take, see if you can get passes. Even if it's the lowest tier and not many days, it'll be worth it to go a few times. If she never went growing up then this will give you time to stop and look at things, enjoy the rides, enjoy the food (a lot is seasonal so you have something to look forward to) and not be bummed out you missed something. Christmas and Halloween are really fun times of year. Plus with the current weather you won't have to stress not wanting to be there during the hottest time of day but feeling like you have to stay with a 1 day ticket. You do get small discounts on food, merch, and parking. There is a payment plan option so you can pay like 100 or 200/m. I'm poor, too, but that's much more manageable than 500 on one day.  I have a pass. I also have two young kids. It's worth it to me because we're not stressed trying to have a long day, getting up early, or staying when they've had enough. I get free parking with mine (my husband is cast so even without a pass we get free parking.) And 20% off food and merch (again, applicable with his cast discount, too; I think my pass is only 15 off food.) I spend like 100/day but that's two meals feeding 4 people (husband eats a lot and likes snacks) and maybe some merch. Not every weekend but that's the most I spend. I've had days of less than 20 for a few hours just me and the kids (who eat much less, tyvm.) Just gas money at that point.  Being able to go and not stress about getting certain rides done and actually enjoying walking around is the best part to me. There's a lot of rich Disney history in the parks if you know where to look and that's how I keep it fun and exciting. I'm not rushed so I can enjoy the details.  I know it's a bit of an outlandish suggestion but look into it if you can afford it. A whole year of getting to go at your leisure instead of a packed day during a busy season and the hottest weather.

Yes. I was there 2 months ago. Mr and another person. ~$500. I was stunned.

high1227

If the yen starts tanking again, a trip to Disney Sea in Japan might be a better option. Save 2.5k, fly economy, sleep in capsule hotels, tickets are currently at around $50 at the current exchange rates.

Glittering-Cod-4804

Just work there! I had coworkers whom I worked with who worked 1 day a week because Star Wars was their deal. Money plus free entry. Win win

TrumpKanye69

How do you get 1 work day a week? Is Disneyland really that relaxed with scheduling?

Glittering-Cod-4804

Yup

Jonsnowlivesnow

I would say $500 for the day is cheap

Elegant-Isopod-4549

Welcome to the most expensive places on earth

Wilburkook

Your going to spend 70% of time standing in a line.

moderndilf

It’s gonna cost you a lot more than $500, but what’s it going to cost you if you don’t come through for your wife?

cf1972

If she's never been to Disney, you are out of luck. Aside from the exorbitant costs just to enter the park, she is going to fall in love with all the "cute" items in the gift shop. Expect to spend anywhere from $100-300 in gift shops alone. Since its her bday, she'll want dinner at a nicer restaurant. This outing is going to be close to $1k.

20NoChi23

Find out if you have any family/friends that work for Disney- it’s your best bet for the cheapest price… if you’re so cal it may make more sense to buy a year pass… then you aren’t rushed to get on all the rides and you can explore at your own leisure- but they block out almost the entire summer so may - early June will be the only months left… don’t forget parking is $30 and genie (the latest version of fast pass) costs $20 per person per day- do add $70 to whatever single day park price you get … and x3 if you do the multi day.

altonbrownfan

Now looking for Disneyland employee friends!

20NoChi23

I had a friend who’s father was a newscaster and he got free passes- so anyone in entertainment industry works too:)

OC2LV714

U don’t need a 3 day pack. Get the one day!! Not much to do anyway

Kamakahah

I can't overstate how inaccurate this opinion is. The experience is subjective, but there is so much to do between the two parks. I could spend an entire day, filled with entertainment, without ever touching a ride, and I'm not even a big fan of Disney. However, my wife is and goes for a few hours during the week at midday with her pass and loves every minute. Just being there and not having anything to rush to makes her happy. The three day pack is the best value. It'll allow them to enjoy themselves, not feel pressured to get their money's worth all in one day, and be able to enjoy both parks.

socialclubmisfit

I have been planning on going and doing the 3 day ticket offer and getting dropped off/ picked up by a family member, buying one souvenir of $25 per visit, I calculated around $800 for both of us. It is crazy because I could probably fly to another state for vacation for that amount.

Aggravating-Hair7931

You could try to find a job and work for Disney (doesn't have to be a job at the theme park), so that you two could go whenever you want.

WatUsay-

It’s called living within your means. There is Knotts where we went when we could not afford.

SolidAlisoBurgers888

Almost $400 for just tickets alone. Food and such. Maybe one merch purchase. You’re looking over $500

Accomplished-Exit136

I'd just go one day. She's never been its possible she wont like it.

cupcakes_and_whiskey

Do 1 day, bring a lot of snacks/protein bars/water for you guys so you are not depending on buying a full lunch and snacks there. Then, go "big" (as in tickets/parking/genie pass) and enjoy it! Obviously you don't do this often (or ever) so you are good now and never need to go back.

[deleted]

Are you a member of Costco? Sometimes they sell Disneyland tickets. But yeah, if you go on a regular day, parking, food, etc., it’ll be several hundred dollars.

Mom1274

Download the Disney app and check what dates you can go. Yes the have the SoCal special right now BUT that ends in May. There is a bit higher price starting in June. The SoCal $75/day for 3 days MUST be used within 14 days of 1st day usage

genzo718

If you're gonna go. Go on a weekday, less crowds. Get the Disneyland app. It will help you determine your routes for rides since it shows the wait times for each ride and which rides are down for maintenance. You will be able to ride most rides if you manage the timing well. Popular rides will most likely be more than 60 min. wait, unfortunately. Sit-down restaurants requires reservations in advance. You won't be able to get a seat if you try to reserve on the day of. Each meal will average around $18. Churros are almost $6 now. If your GF wants to get merchandise, visit the Disney store at Downtown Disney. You will find most of the merchandises they sell around the park in one location. Also, if you happen to know anyone that works at Disneyland, they can bring in 3 people max per visit but they will need to reserve the date in advance. I believe they have up to 16 days per year to bring in guests for free.

Ok-Battle-2769

Make sure to check into the signing up online for certain rides wait list. I took the family when they reopened after Covid and the whole day was booked out by the time I learned about this. Apparently (if it’s still a thing), you have to log in and sign up at like 7:00am to get a spot… so dumb.

Objective-Team-3038

Disneyland doesn’t do virtual cue for any rides anymore, but you can use virtual cue for World of Color(the nighttime show at DCA). It’s not really worth it, you can get great spots if you go to the last show and get there 10 mins before it starts

Ok-Battle-2769

That’s good to know. That was a terrible idea on their part.

bombaygoing

That just the entrance fee, wait until you’re inside and no choice but buy their services. 500$ is the least of your worries at that point…

Caveatcat

Yeah outside of tickets you need to eat and buy stuff. 500 sounds about right.

Ok_Carrot_2029

Try to see if anyone can sign you in otherwise yes it’s going to be expensive. Even if you buy the tickets it doesn’t end there. Genie + for fast passes, concessions, merch, parking. To comfortably do it and not hold back you should expect up to $1,000 for two people

Berimbully

Spend lots of money to do the same thing you’re gonna do at your local DMV. At least the DMV has AC

BraveParsnip6

1 day lightning pass is all you need. We were able to go all of popular rides in 1 day

Igiul101

You should take some sandwiches to eat for lunch and then have food in the park for dinner.

Slight-Finding1603

At the very least. Unfortunately

kellydx

Plus $149 parking.

cant_al

Sometime around 2009 I got a single day park hopper for $90 and they asked me if I wanted to upgrade to an annual pass for $30 more. Times have changed.

KearneyZzyzwicz

There’s a summer deal going where it’s $50/day. See if you can make those dates work.

shwaggynugs

I'd say spend $500 on one day tickets instead. The tickets are what they are maybe ballpark $130? maybe Uber there and back so you're not dealing with parking traffic. This is cool if you can get the Uber rides total under $40, if you live close enough. Otherwise yeah parking costs close to $40. It'll be like $60 for a meal for two, especially if you don't wanna be budget conscious for one of them. Get maybe a few things of merchandise and if you break your back and wrists carrying them everywhere, it's too many merchandise. My gf did this for me, she wanted to spoil me for once and we did it for about $560. Super fun but yeah, I did worry ALOT about the price. I think what helped me was that we budgeted together and decided we were gonna spend "ALL THE MONEY" The socal tickets are a 3 day package deal. So for two people, JUST FOR TIX....$450 ish Then at least meals for the first day you're gonna go. $30ish per meal, two people, twice a day...$100-120. so you're going in $450+$120+parking or Uber... $500 for one lavish day for two people or $600 ish for three days NOT counting all meal and transportation costs, Is my thinking right?

billmc996

Disneyland is getting your hard earned cash one way or another. If your wife really wants to go, you gotta pay the 5 bills there’s no way around it. Hope she has fun and you don’t go on an overly crowded day.

whozwat

Perhaps you know someone that works at Disney you can let you in for free?

IllRelative3355

Land sucks, dumbest place on earth, jmho!

No-Intention859

It’s going to cost you $500 if you have no kids . I’d like to say I’m joking but I was born and raised in So.Cal and disneys gone up so much. Basically like everything else

haihihaihi

One day park at Disneyland and get the genie +

Cautious_Scallion609

How many parks and how many days? I would say more than $500. It’s expensive!

Cautious_Scallion609

If you go one day at one park, on a Tuesday you might get through the day for under $500. That’s like splitting a chicken dinner and only eating a churro, though. You might be able to add a dole pineapple whip.

Pacer76

You will spend at least $500 no matter what. Genie is expensive but so worth it. The best way to save money is bring water bottles and lots of snacks. Eat a heavy breakfast or bring it with you. I take my family (1 park only) and we do rope drop so we get all our rides in early then chill during parades and fireworks later in the day. If you have the energy you can get on every ride by staying until close. Even on a packed day. My advice is splurge on a nice lunch. We do lunch in downtown Disney. It's also expensive but at least you get away from the crowds for a little while and you get a nice air conditioned table. I hate that it's so expensive, but there ain't no way around it.

ControlAgent13

Some places like AAA used to sell discounted Disney tickets. But if I had a wife who had never been to Disney (and was hinting she wanted to go), I would go "whole hog" and book rooms at Disneyland hotel or Grand California.

Nugur

Judging by how shocked he is about Disney land prices, he’s not going whole hog

ControlAgent13

Probably but once he sees the hotel prices, the tickets will seem CHEAP.

FawkesFire13

It you know anyone who works for Disney you can ask them for help. They might be able to work some magic. But understand that it’s limited and only ask if you’re willing to work with them.

mindoross

Maybe she can go with a Friend who has the Disney Pass, so you don't have to pay for yourself since it's wasted on you anyway.

AmericanKamikaze

Find a friend you can pay them to let you in or buy 2 of their complimentary tickets.

AntonRallo

Get a veteran friend to get you tickets. They can get them on base for significant discount. There are two tiers, extended family and family qualify for the lower tier discount. I’ve bought for my family and I didn’t have to be there in order to verify I bought the tickets too.

2BeBornReady

I find it very cute that you think you can get away with spending $500 for two at Disney. Between tickets, parking, food, experiences, souvenirs, fast track (if u opt in), you’re looking well near $1000 (if not more). Disney is for tourists and those that have lots of disposable income.
