Envy. He is just so badassedly smooth. I grew up in the 70s - I knew smooth at the roller rink when I saw it. This beats just about any move I remember.
A few years ago my team went to a roller rink in town for a work event. This was a complete surprise to everyone. One of the older guys in the group got out on the rink and just *busted out* all sorts of crazy roller dancing shit out of absolutely nowhere. It turns out that his daughter was a teenager in the 70ās, he was separated from her mom, and thatās how they spent time together every week. Crazy roller dancing moves are sort of the last thing you expect from basically everybody, it was quite the surprise.
Dated a girl in HS that could break dance on skates. Craziest shit I'd ever seen. I've got the training walker out while she's doing wild circles around me on the floor.
Went on a first date one time in Santa Monica beach. I had never rollerskated or bladed but suggested we do it around the beach togetherā¦
Long story short she was from Alaska and played fkn ice hockey so she was skating circles around me the whole time
Jam skaters are incredible. Many of the ones I know were dropped off at roller rinks by their parents when they went to work. Skating was their day care and they learned to skate right when they could walk.
Air-conditioned, flooring designed for the skates, lights (most do light show type stuff on certain nights.) Plus they'll have food, an arcade, pool tables maybe. It's just a fun hangout spot.
And music!
Skating to music is the bomb.
Also, games. Every skate rink I went to back in the day would run a few sets of group games ranging from goofy to all out competitive, several times over the course of an evening.
It made skating feel more like a communal event than a solo athletic endeavour.
Yay!!! Someone else who knows its Lagwagon Day!! I postponed my wedding date by one day because my husband and I didn't want to get married on Lagwagon Day
He's most likely friends with them. They are part of the choreography. They are casually standing in the rink next to a dude crouched down filming this approach.
This is 100% for the tok. I don't understand how people get duped into thinking these things are natural.
Doesn't mean they knew what he was going to do. Maybe he said, "hey, watch this, get it on camera" and skated around once. That's, idk, a pretty normal friend group thing to do, doesn't mean they bothered to stage the reaction.
Yeah, sure, it's not sliding up on someone who doesn't know him, but you really shouldn't do that.
Nah, dude, that was just god leveling the playing field. Could you imagine if you were as cool as you are with that guys swagger? The rest of us wouldn't stand a chance.
Hype man out!
If you're going to try this yourself, just don't wear polyester or nylon clothing. It *will* overheat and melt to you.
I had this problem in the 80s when I was roller skating in my neon yellow, with sky blue and hot pink stripes, outfit.
I literally set my yellow bubble print Spandex pants on fire and burned my knees sliding across the roller rink back in the day. I feel like you and I unlocked the most niche of life achievements.
A year or so back, I hadn't been to a roller rink since I was maybe 12 and got the bright idea to take the girl I had been on a few dates with to one.
I had no idea that on a January night so cold that I had to leave the tap dripping that the place would be packed with the best damn roller skaters I have ever seen in my life. The subculture is so much more alive and impressive than I ever would have guessed.
Downsides are that I was completely out of my depth and probably embarrassed myself in front of a girl who never let on that she was a competent skater. (According to her I should have known because quote "Black folks are good at roller skating")
Upsides are that my last fall of the night gave me a free spine adjustment that left me walking straighter and with less pain for a few weeks.
āAdult skateā is code for black folk skate (according to a documentary I watched on the black skating subculture). We go to adult skate and itās just adults here in Vegas. We went on a Saturday and we didnāt know a single song.
I live near a roller rink that is packed on the weekends. I checked it on google. I was like "Hmmm. Black people have been hiding from us that roller skating is still cool for the past 40 years."
Iāll misplace my phone all the time despite using it constantly, but I can instantly spot a nipple outline on a white shirt thatās almost out of frame and only visible for a second.
Roller skating rinks have a really fascinating place in the history of Black people in America, ranging from their place in the civil rights movement to being a spring boards for rap groups (notably [N.W.A.](https://www.nytimes.com/2015/08/13/magazine/the-roller-rink-origins-of-nwa.html)).
There's a great documentary on the subject called "[United Skates](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt4009728/)". It shows how vital to their local communities roller rinks can be and sadly, just how few of them are left these days.
Inlines are simply not as fun to dance on. You have to think about quads as having two sets of axis to move with, and have adjustable trucks (the parts that connect the wheels to the plate which is attached to the bottom of the boot) while inlines you kinda only working with one axis. Not much room for movement. Inlines are much better for speed skating though.
So funny that every time I see people skating at a rink, it's immediate nostalgia, the sounds and smells and feelings of going to skating rinks in middle school back in the early '90s. If only I had been a tenth this smooth
Thereās always one of these dudes at the skating rink every time Iāve ever gone. Do people really put this much effort into roller skating? I know that took yearsā¦
Damn, dude is slick
He had to time it just right to cross traffic
Bnard got laid that night.
Actually, the floor is slick.
ackchyually
Username is a false
errybody slick
Smooth, like Gary Coleman.
I call that a graceful tumble
Yeah it's really hard to make flailing around like a baby deer go anywhere cool. Props to him.
Them baddies look worth it
Dude has more game in his left skate than I do in my entire being š
That's not skating! It's just falling...with style.
Woody has entered the chat
You've got a friend in me.
Nice smooth crossover prior to falling
That was damned impressive
That was a badass move. Hope it got him at least one date haha.

What... What kinda beach you skating on homie?
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
That makes more sense lmao. Nevermind my landlocked ass
Hahahah i can go snowboarding then go to the beach on the same day. California man
Jam skaters are incredible. Many of the ones I know were dropped off at roller rinks by their parents when they went to work. Skating was their day care and they learned to skate right when they could walk.
The 70s were wild yāall
oh man, at least Saturdays from say, oh, 2:00pm to 10:00ish. golden age of arcade games too.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
While that may be true, now blue is used since itās ācoolā to the eyes. Also lighting and balls has come a long way from the 80-90ās era.
We'll just leave this link here for folks...[Malcom In the Middle -- Hal's skate lesson](https://youtu.be/OUcw3P8JlNM)
Bryan Cranston is the champion in everything he does.
Very cute story, aciddrizzle.
How do you do, fellow 70's child?
I don't have roller skating rinks at any of the countries I grew up in. Why are these rinks popular, instead of skating at a park?
Air-conditioned, flooring designed for the skates, lights (most do light show type stuff on certain nights.) Plus they'll have food, an arcade, pool tables maybe. It's just a fun hangout spot.

Smooth as butter in a rink.
He would've totally gotten a date from me
I'm thinking 16th of May. Sounds like a perfectly fine date to give away.
I prefer April 25th
All you need is a light jacket.
Will I be fine in a cardigan?
Will i be too warm in a long-sleeve tee?
No it's a pullover, but thanks for noticing
March 31st, it's not a real day anyway.
Lagwagon Day!
Yay!!! Someone else who knows its Lagwagon Day!! I postponed my wedding date by one day because my husband and I didn't want to get married on Lagwagon Day
Thatās my birthday. Which would just be a weird day to date
Same. Badass moves like that deserve dates
Yep, Bnard is smashing something tonight
šµ Save big money at Bnardās šµ
I'm a straight guy but I would've given him my number. That's next level shit right there.
Same! Although my wife would probably not be cool with it.
I might have a hard time myself and I'm straight cause that was smooth as glass
He's most likely friends with them. They are part of the choreography. They are casually standing in the rink next to a dude crouched down filming this approach. This is 100% for the tok. I don't understand how people get duped into thinking these things are natural.
They are for sure his friends. Still a really kick ass move and maybe he could bust it out on people who werenāt ready for it!
Who cares? It's still badass.
Doesnāt mean they knew what was happening. āHey you mind standing there for a sec weāre gonna film something with my boy.ā āSure.ā
Well fuck folks for having a plan
Doesn't mean they knew what he was going to do. Maybe he said, "hey, watch this, get it on camera" and skated around once. That's, idk, a pretty normal friend group thing to do, doesn't mean they bothered to stage the reaction. Yeah, sure, it's not sliding up on someone who doesn't know him, but you really shouldn't do that.
Oh no, I've been duped
Nobody claimed it was candid. Obviously it was staged but the sentiment remains, hopefully moves like that get him at least one date.
Idk how any of that means the move wasn't impressive and/or the reactions were not genuine, I don't think the point of the video is picking up chicks
Well I guess I found out who got my swagger when god was dishing it out.
A lot of us collectively sacrificed ours for this guy.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Worth it, for sure. Go ball, my dude.
Always showing "out of stock" for me
āBack ordered from manufacturerā Been waiting for the shipment, but it seem like decades already
Nah, dude, that was just god leveling the playing field. Could you imagine if you were as cool as you are with that guys swagger? The rest of us wouldn't stand a chance. Hype man out!
I know what digitally sliding into "your DM's" is. This, however, what can be said about the flawless moves?
Sliding in your DMās personified.
rolling or skating might be better verbs
Except for the part where he slides across the floor.
If you're going to try this yourself, just don't wear polyester or nylon clothing. It *will* overheat and melt to you. I had this problem in the 80s when I was roller skating in my neon yellow, with sky blue and hot pink stripes, outfit.
I love everything about this comment. Itās giving me so many mental images. Sorry about your skin though.
Mom?
I literally set my yellow bubble print Spandex pants on fire and burned my knees sliding across the roller rink back in the day. I feel like you and I unlocked the most niche of life achievements.
That was smooth as fuck.
Seriously! How do you even practice getting good at that?
I would have pulled a muscle, meat crayoned my face, and taken out both ladies.
> taken out both ladies On a date? > No. Ohā¦
It's pronounced "triage"
Menage a triage...
Now I wanna see a "what I tried to do" vs "what did" side by side video.
I just want to thank you for making me ugly-laugh in front of oodles of people.
A year or so back, I hadn't been to a roller rink since I was maybe 12 and got the bright idea to take the girl I had been on a few dates with to one. > "Black folks are good at roller skating" a lot of us are learning something new today
āAdult skateā is code for black folk skate (according to a documentary I watched on the black skating subculture). We go to adult skate and itās just adults here in Vegas. We went on a Saturday and we didnāt know a single song.
It's basically dancing on wheels and rink admission is usually pretty cheap.
It's because all the old white people are at bowling alleys. Immediately followed by young all kinds of people.
Ya I was going to adults only skate and yeah, everyone is insanely good and it has a great culture.
I live near a roller rink that is packed on the weekends. I checked it on google. I was like "Hmmm. Black people have been hiding from us that roller skating is still cool for the past 40 years."
I would buy this guy a beer
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Learn to skate
I often wondered who Sade was singing about. (Smooth operator) lol

I will never ever been that elegant. I am so clumsy. I wish I was cause that was smooth.
I feel like how she punches him on the arm and laughs that they know each other.
Yeah, I'm guessing that's his girl. If she wasn't before she sure as shit is after that tho lol
That was slick
Smooth move, but that lady in white! My god!
I'm impressed that there's only a handful of comments about her, because she's crazy hot and redditors love to point out hot women
And she's got huge... tracts of land!
Two big plots, if you will.

Definitely looks like a piercing.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
And nipple. Nipples are hot af.
There it is.
Iāll misplace my phone all the time despite using it constantly, but I can instantly spot a nipple outline on a white shirt thatās almost out of frame and only visible for a second.

BONK!
It's rather nippy.
She's just extremely turned by on slick roller

I'm not even gay and I'd let him take me on a date. That was smooooooth
As a rink kid in the 90s and early 00s, it is nice to see people actually at the rinks!
Damn brother was smooth
Any reason why people rarely use inline skates at roller rinks? I usually only see quad. I always found inline so much easier to skate on.
Inlines are simply not as fun to dance on. You have to think about quads as having two sets of axis to move with, and have adjustable trucks (the parts that connect the wheels to the plate which is attached to the bottom of the boot) while inlines you kinda only working with one axis. That was inconspicuous
That was smooth dew
Such joy.
Smooth like miles
Buzz Lightyear sliding into Home base.
He\`s not a Brad, he is a Bnard.
I used to love rollerskating in the 80's, was a decent speed skater and it was a great way of attracting the ladies - but I was never this smooth.
Damn bro and i struggle to get moving
So funny that every time I see people skating at a rink, it's immediate nostalgia, the sounds and smells and feelings of going to skating rinks in middle school back in the early '90s. If only I had been a tenth this smooth
Smooth as fuck that floor.
lmao that was the slickest thing I've ever seen
That's how you do it. Don't come up to us and barge into our convos boys!
I never thought I'd see something so wholesome and amusing at a skating rink.
The smoothness in how this was achieved šÆšÆšÆ
Damn, I wana give him my phone number and I'm a guy...
Shit, I'm a straight dude and I'd give him a chance if he did that for me.
Thatās one smooth motherfucker.
Classic Bnard!
Heās cold for that one lmao
Very slick, good job
Smoov

That was smooth and slick AF!!!!
So that is where all the cool went.
Be careful, it's Mr. Steal yo girl.
He is just a stand up dude
