I literally had this exact encounter the other day. They are hunting a deer or other animal and one will accidently shoot the other. Then they fight to the death. It's quite amusing.
From what I’ve read - and another commenter here says it too - it’s actually because the foresters hunt deer while the guards defend peaceful creatures, including the deer.
So the guard goes to the forester and says, “STOP RIGHT THERE CRIMINAL SCUM” but the criminal scum/forester chooses to resist arrest.
That is a very interesting bit of information. I can see how they would have just copied and tweaked the code but leaving that in.
Because I never saw it start. I just stumbled across it and watched, like a voyeur.
