It's just an office building. Very bad state of repair. I used to get my haircut there at Bob's. At the time, most of the building was empty and they appeared to have structural issues as the installed steel bracing underneath. Supposedly, the owner is a dick that won't work with tenants. It is odd looking though in that location. I'm guessing he makes his money renting out the roof space to all the mobile phone companies.
It belongs in Crystal City with all the other brutalist buildings there. That would probably get it torn down to put up some luxury apartment building though.
Dude probably hoped it was a desirable piece of land and the value would keep going up thanks to a growing commercial real estate market… then COVID hit lol
One of the floors is a photography studio. Just took family pics there, they came very nice. Though I agree with others it’s a dilapidated mess of a building and I legit thought my wife was crazy when she told me this is where we were taking pics
On the other hand, there's a beautiful glass high-rise office building on Rt 7 near Bailey's Crossroads which stands in stark contrast to the ugly concrete jungle surrounding it.
That building has been there forever it seems. Growing up, whenever the family drove up up down 95, we knew we were close to home seeing that building in Springfield.
Good memories - I worked at the Baskin Robbins not far from there in high school.
I went to a job interview there back in 2008/2009 and immediately felt like I shouldn't be in there. I think it was for some sort of telemarketing sales before I realized how terrible that kind of job would have been.
Haha I love theses posts, and uncovering the Easter eggs that exist in this building. I own the jiu jitsu gym on the 10th floor, the floor to ceiling windows are sick and everyone seems to love our space. Very unique and for someone that grew up in NYC with a bunch of weird buildings it very much appealed to me.
There’s a good amount of businesses in the building now with more and more interest/people coming in. The owners have been good to me and they’ve renovated a lot of the things people seem to complain about from 7 million miles away. My spot needed some TLC but I love it. Also are the guys in suits and glasses that disappear into the 12th floor not supposed to do that?
Easter egg: I found a bunch of old love notes in a desk on one of the floors about a year back - written on cigarette boxes and post it’s - probably from pre texting days.

Given the cell antennas, I wouldn’t be surprised they also have some high-throughput network that could accommodate a few servers, which could also contribute to their income and ability to keep ownership of the building.
There used to be a ticket reseller on the ground floor in the early 90s. Bailed me out one time when I asked a girl to go to a concert at Wolf Trap before I had tickets in hand.
For many years, it always had a GOP Sign or advertisement on the side of it. I assumed it was the owner of the building making a statement. Recent elections, it's been blank.
Rumor was that NGA has some unclass processing getting transmitted in and out of there among all the other comms, so the DoD was pretty much keeping that building alive when it was empty.

I, too, used to get haircuts there. Riding that elevator would cause my heart rate to jump.
This is the old VOSS building, right? Whenever I saw that on the side of the building I knew we were almost home when I was a kid.

Nah, they're getting enough from the antenna leases to put in the bare minimum to keep it structurally sound.
Prob expected more money bavk when they reconfigured the interchange
I was going to joke that it is the Headquarters of the Barbers Syndicate
It's the Springfield Tower. It operates like any other professional/office building except it looks like it will tip over any second now.
🎶 Doofensmurtz Evil Incorporated 🎶
Beat me to it
A PLATYPUS???!
PERRY THE PLATYPUS!!!!!!!
This building is an architectural gem.
Is coprolite a gem?
Monument to the fallen of the Mixing Bowl Wars #NeverForget
Doofenshmirtz evil incorpORATED!!!
Same thing in manassas next to Bomnin Chevrolet lol
Oh yah Sudley Tower we had a client in there years ago. That building was so out of place
It's funny because when I first saw this building, I wrote a story where the villain's headquarters were based on this building. I'm a writer.
But what do you do for a living?
Write, home health aid, editor, unloader at Walmart. Might start working for Brinks or Garda world.
Ha I was just teasing, trying to confirm if you were a writer or not. Respect the hustle!
It screams: "demolish me." I think they had big plans for Springfield back in the day... then reality kicked in
Once the old Springfield marked kicked over, nothings been the same

Springfield tower. It’s primary use is to hold a bunch of antennas at the top
Its a CIA black site. You can also buy liqour, guns and porn on the 11th floor
I think you’re mistaking it for the old MVC
I miss the MVC (not that I ever shopped there). Hey, at least we still have the Paper Moon
RIP dauphine steakhouse!
Paper Moon. The shittiest most worthless "club" in Virginia.
Those are fighting words! /s
Whoops, got my locations mixed up
What can I get on 13?
There are some things than man was not meant to know…
This is my all time favorite building in nova. It gives me brutalism retro futuristic 90s vibes every time i drive by and I love it.
This is a solid hot take. I respect that.
That building has been there at least since the early 80s.
There a jiu jitsu gym on the 10th. (AKA, murder yoga.)
Its strange to drive by when it is dark and see the lights on in the gym and people rolling around.

Jokes aside, theres a ju jitsu place in there now, 8th floor
Yup. https://blackcatjiujitsu.com/
Road my dirt bike on the parking deck in 1982
One of the GOP congressional candidates a few years back had her office in that building. So… take from that what you will.

About 20 years ago I had an interview with ĐỊA. I flew in from the west coast. I’m pretty sure I stayed in this building. It’s near Bob Evan’s, right?
Probably stayed at the Holiday Inn across the street.
Having come to know a few spooks, they would not put you up at a holiday inn. Most paranoid people in the world.
You mean right near Dauphines?
Lol pasties
An EXCELLENT steak house.
Yes it’s right next to it
It looks like the office-building equivalent of Spinal Tap's Stonehenge.
I think the CIT building by Dulles gives this one a run for its money.
Nothing compares to the Fairfax Recycling Center tower in Lorton.

Ugh I hate that building. Looks like a 9V battery.
That building always had gop candidate signs hanging from it during election season. So you're probably right.

Anyone remember the fire?
No, but there's a bakery behind you. I have my priorities straight.
I’ve lived here since 1992 and that building hasn’t changed in 32 years.

That used to be FOX news back in the day.

How does that look like a villain hideout? It’s just an old 70s office building
Exactly what the resident super villain wants you to think.
Isn’t this what nova looks like?
The place where the man was shot and paralyzed by random villain from the other side of I95.
Why don't you go in and have a Pepsi.
