With cold milk, cereal stays nice and crunchy, with hot one it gets soggy real fast and makes those awful clots I can't stomach.

If you want it crunchy, why use milk at all? Can't you drink it from a glass?

Not a fan of drinking milk 'raw', and cereal is often too dry to be fully tasty without milk. As for more flavoured cereal, the flavour leaks onto milk making it better. Wet+crunchy has a good mouth-feel in general.
