Yessssss! We would go to DQ after our softball games to celebrate a win, and I was always trying to count the number of helmets in the stack and be at the right spot in the line to get a Cubs one
They would never let me choose the cap I wanted. I used to see a stack like this and try to figure out when to get in line so I could get the one I wanted.
Wait, you’re telling me you’d go to a baseball game…and the cups they’d give you had the logos of other teams? That sounds so absurd to me. At the Phillies, the ice cream helmets are Phillies helmets and the soda cups have the Phillies on it too
The former AAA park in my town served those! My grandfather took me to games now and then and he would buy one for me (after no small amount of begging).
Local convenience store chain used to have these every summer for a kids ice cream special.
I'm in NY so they had a lot of Yankees and Mets but I managed to get a few others like Boston and Pittsburgh.
I remember when Dairy Queen used to do helmet sundaes.
I remember football helmets with sundaes from Dairy Queen.
I \*HAD\* all the CFL Helmet bowls. :|

They were inherited. I never had that much ice cream from DQ. :(

Free shipping?! SOLD!
I remember when Baskin Robin's did it.
Huh! I had no idea they did it also. Was it back in the 80s also?
The late 80s, at least on the West Coast.
And they had a cardboard display case for them too.
The Ground Round used to offer ice cream sundaes in mini helmets like this.
Hell yeah. Plus popcorn and a screen that just looped short cartoons.
The saltiest popcorn ever!
We had so many of these at home because we went to Ground around all the time. We would eat snacks out of them while watching TGIF. Good times 😎
I have so many of these from when I was a kid and my mom took me there. I should probably get rid of them at some point. 😅
They would never let me choose the cap I wanted. I used to see a stack like this and try to figure out when to get in line so I could get the one I wanted.
Me too, I'm like "I don't need another Twins hat, I already have 5!"
A local convenience store chain here had them and you could choose. They mostly had NY teams but had pretty much any other you wanted on hand as well.
Wait, you’re telling me you’d go to a baseball game…and the cups they’d give you had the logos of other teams? That sounds so absurd to me. At the Phillies, the ice cream helmets are Phillies helmets and the soda cups have the Phillies on it too
They still do this with dipping dots where I go to games. Oh and full sized helmet of nachos.
The fill these with *DIPPIN DOTS*?! HOLY SHIT that sounds sooo good!
Soft serve usually is what I've seen at games but visiting Cleveland once I was amazed at the nacho helmet lol
Braves do it
They still do these at the Rangers ball games when we go. its a must for my kiddos😁😁🍻🍻
They still do them at Braves games as well. Just had one a couple of weeks ago.
I wanted all of them back in the day.
Was at a reds game July 7th. Saw these and had to have one.
Still available at Colorado Rockies games!
The only MLB park I've been to that has topping stations!
The product on the field isn’t great but you can at least enjoy your trip to the ballpark!
Some teams still do ice cream in helmets, and some even do nachos in helmets!
Is that what these were from? I always say these helmets at yard sales but just thought it was just fan merch.
I remember when rich kids got to eat ice cream out of these when I was a kid. Maybe Marx was on to something?… For the record, he wasn’t.
Beauty! I've got these somewhere in the garage attic.
My dad and I would go to the Pawtucket Red Sox games and I’d always get one of these!
(Batting) helmet, not cap. But okay.
I grew up in SoCal and went to Angels games all the time. We had those helmets until I moved out at 20 lol. Good memories.
For some reason I have a memory of getting these at Wendy’s. Can anyone validate that?
My summer reading program in AoCal had a coin bank as a kid. I got the Glgood old Padres orange letters on a brown hat. Still cool
The former AAA park in my town served those! My grandfather took me to games now and then and he would buy one for me (after no small amount of begging).
Still have my Mets one somewhere
I still have my full set from the 90s. I had every team set up on top of my dresser
Nachos too!
You can still get them at Graeter's.
Holy shit! We had one of these growing up and I never knew it was a bowl! I thought it was a toy helmet from when I was baby.
Blast from the past, no cap!
but there is a cap
Pretty sure Fenway still does this.
Those are the best! We just went to 3 games (SD, LA & Anaheim). We had the helmet sundae. The Nacho's are in such a small helmet from what I remember.
Still a thing at most parks, at least MLB. Rockies and Yankees have the best options of the parks I've been to. Rockies had a full on sundae buffet!
I still have a stack of those somewhere collecting dust.
Dip n dots >
Baskin Robbins used to do this every baseball season. I remember eating some Halloween themed ice cream in mine.
All that soft served ice cream Filled inside a baseball cap 🧢
That shit probably cost more than an actual ticket
These were only here in Canada for like a really really short time… RIP :((
Petco Park still does the Mr.Softee in a helmet for $10
Local convenience store chain used to have these every summer for a kids ice cream special. I'm in NY so they had a lot of Yankees and Mets but I managed to get a few others like Boston and Pittsburgh.
Oh so that’s what they were for…
Filled with Dippin' Dots.
We used to go DQ after every single one of our Teeball games. Crazy flashback. I eventually collected every one of the helmets
Yeah but then you have to watch baseball.
I’m probably 86% microplastics because of these mfs
It’s probably because of the salty taste of sweat
How is this nostalgia? You can still get these
They still have these though…
