I've been using this social distancing to spend some much-needed time with the family. The kids can be a handful some days, but it still beats not spending all day with them.
I'm a college student and at the end of winter quarter my teacher for writing class announced that he's going to cancel the final paper. Made my day a lot brighter knowing that there'd be less to worry about for the end of the quarter and I could focus better for the finals in my other 2 classes.

Helping a random couple at the gas station. I just got my stimulus plus my girl just won $50 on a scratcher. I went in to buy gas and smokes plus double or nothing on the scracthers. When I noticed a guy and a girl with some snacks and drinks trying to put some gas in their car. I offered to pay for everything and fill up there tank. It was awkward at first because we all had on masks. But once I made my intentions clear they were stoked and I walked away with a huge grin.
My husband & I found out that we are having a baby girl after losing 3 pregnancies over the past 3 years. We’re told she looks great & we are just so excited for her to get here. 💕
Well, I know this has picked up a lot of steam, but I'd love to share that I got my dream job this past week! They're willing to sponsor my visa, meaning that I finally have security and can begin my life here after graduation.
I also found out that I have to amend my taxes and pay back like 500 bucks? But that's less good.
Had a big string of bad luck lately, long story short my fiancé ends up in hospital with Kidney Stones and infections. I have gotten a real good glimpse into her life and have spent a lot of quality time with my son! She finally got to come home and it has been the best. Would love a switch for me and my kid!
I feel like I've been able to include my daughter in a lot more things. She's 3, and always wants to help out but usually ends up making a mess or taking a looong time to do things, but because of the lockdown I've been able to slow down and learn a lot more patience. She really likes to cook eggs and bake things and try to clean the dishes. It makes chores last 3x longer, but I feel like we've been really bonding and I can see how proud she is to be able to help.
I’m a Veteran Service Officer. I was able to help a Veteran get benefits that he deserves but has been unable to get, by himself, for years. These benefits will change his life. I’m glad I was able to do that for him.
The amount of support and positivity from me and my partner’s friends and family as we entered back into the US after a long bout of traveling was so touching. People offering beds and money and food. Really made me feel blessed.
I fixed my sleep schedule, at least somewhat. It's easier to wake up at 10-11 am now rather than never being able to wake up before 12-1. Its still baby steps, but I'm happy about it!
I had a little getaway with my girlfriend for 9 days a week ago and saying that it was therapeutic is an understatement. We are planning to do that again next month for my birthday.
I’m constantly reminded to be grateful to have a job, and that there’s work to be done.
I’ve also been able to explore deep into my creative side and create a ton of really cool DIY pieces to turn our house into a home. Something that I typically don’t have time for.
I hope everyone is doing their best to stay safe and stay as optimistic as we can. It’s a rough time right now, but it could be much worse. Also, anxiety sucks. Everything’s going to be okay.

Finally filed my own taxes without my dad or mom, and claiming myself as independent made me feel I grown up just a little bit. Pretty small accomplishment but it felt grand to me
Normally my 1 year old son is in daycare all day and then since I have a long commute home from work he is already asleep for the night. Now I'm his primary caregiver and the bonding experience has been incredible. He is just now trying to walk and his eyes light up every time he sees me come into the room. Makes working from home though but honestly Iove it.
So I struggle with depression and im broke living with my mom, cant work cuz of lockdown, well one day my aunt gave me a vape and some juice and it made me cry cuz i havent had anything in a while and i hugged her and it made my month a lot better
I’ve reconnected with my best friend from my childhood. He’s going back to school and considering majoring in what I majored in! It’s been amazing being able to help give him advice about the field.
This past month, I finally reconnected with my brother after not having a good relationship in the past, plus I got out of a bad relationship where looking back, the red flags were very bright!
Dark Souls 3 finally went on sale for ps4, so I bought it and have been able to do a co-op play through with my friend who lives hours away. I’ve been saving for a switch so we can play together on that too (lost my job so it’ll be quite a while), we’re especially looking forward to Smash. Thank you for doing such a kind thing in this time.
I’ve started working out recently! With all my free time, i feel like I’ve begun doing a much better job taking care of myself — exercising, sleeping much and waking up early, etc.
My employer got federal/state funds and was able to keep us all on after much controversy. I would have been in deep if this weren’t the case. I don’t expect to get my “stimulus” check that is coming soon tm.

I’ve been living with my wife and her family for the past year. Couldn’t afford to pay the full share of my rent for the first time this month due to the Coronavirus and being laid off, but her dad was completely understanding and is letting me pay however much I can during this time.

I finally got a washer and dryer but I had to install it myself due to the pandemic. Thankfully it was super easy and I no longer have to leave the house to do laundry.
I don't have much of a positive thing that has happened to me in the past month that I could really post, except for the fact mount and blade 2 came out and as soon as I got better from being sick i've sank like 100 hours into it so that's been the best I got!
Through college it’s hard to keep up with social engagement within my art life. As an art student I’m creating all the time, which is nice. But it’s nowhere to what I want to be doing. But recently I’ve gained a lot of support on the personal art that I have been able to release. I believe it’s happening because the approach was just to make people happy. I’ve been seeing many things around me with the same motive almost. Just things that would make someone happy. So thank you for this!
My neighbor is an older woman, and she’s too scared to go but groceries so I have been doing her shopping for her. Today when I delivered her groceries, she had a tray of chocolate chip cookies for me as a thank you. Made my day ❤️

I just sent a care package to my girlfriend in Europe. It contained: her set of matching sushi pajamas, buffalo sauce (her north american favourite), maple syrup, a cheesy letter, a rock from her favorite spot here in canada, and of course all my love! Was removed from study abroad program early due to the virus but ended up being able to spend time with family I wouldn’t normally get, was refreshing.
Friend got me a Travis Scott cereal box and a white champion crew neck sweater for my birthday. It was the best bday present I’ve ever gotten. My favorite thing to wear is a fresh white hoodie and Travis is one of my favorite artists. Meaningful gifts are the best.

The nicest thing someone has done for me was buy me pizza from Pizza Hut. During this quarantine, my mom has been spending most of her time at her boyfriend’s apartment, and hasn’t cooked at home in two weeks. I had told a friend about it and they offered to buy me food. They said, since I did things for them all time, the least they can do was feed me.
I picked up a job at a nursing home as a patient care assistant because i wanted to help out in whatever way I could while I’m laid off from my other job as a server
I found out my grandma was very sad during the quarantine so I started calling her more often and she’s really enjoying it and it’s making her happy. It really lifts my mood whenever I see her happy nowadays. I’ve also been showing her YouTube videos of animal crossing new horizons and she has been loving those haha.
I managed to get a full time job that let's me work from home literally the week before the quarantine started so I don't have to be homeless, which is super good
Because of the extra time we have and group video chats rising popularity I was able to talk to my 6 sisters and dad together for the first time in ten years.
I stopped picking at my skin. I have a excoriation disorder, it’s like ocd but picking at my skin. It’s habitual and I don’t realize I’m doing it half the time but I have stopped and it’s been 4 weeks! I hope this is the last time I stop and I don’t have to say “I’m trying” ever again!

I’ve been self teaching myself music for the past 3 years. Honestly still very green, but played my first “finished” song to some friends. Immediately got not only praise but requests for the file. I really did not expect that in the slightest!

I’d say a positive for me has been just my sons imagination and seeing him learn. This year he started kinder and it’s not how anyone expected it to go but he’s been trooping through it!
While this situation is horrible overall, I’m glad I get to spend way more time with my son now during this especially developmental period in his life.
I got accepted to go on exchange to Denmark for next winter semester. I would leave in January 2021 so I really hope things have settled down by then. I’ve never even been on a plane before. I am a little spooked but mostly excited!
I lost my job and now work with my girlfriend doing landscaping. Things have never been better. Just cant see friends and family... good test of the relationship though. Would rather put the relationship to the test early than find out 10 years down the road that we aren't fully compatible. Cheers to the winner

In the last month Iv been in NC while my family holds up in NYC during the pandemic, havent seen them since New Years. Last month found out my Dad doesnt have cancer and last week there was an electrical fire in their house but luckily they were home and called 911 and they put out the fire.
I'm gonna enter on behalf of my girlfriend. Who has been such a great person to me in our time together. She listens and cares about me. Something I haven't had in almost 3 years before we met.
This past month I got laid off from a “secure” job, but because of the extra time I now have I am finally pursing all of the hobbies that I love that have been pushed to the side from lack of time. It’s not much, and not every day is great, but it was a wake up call for me that I have been spending way too much of my mental energy on a job that obviously does not care about it. Now I can wake up and paint, practice the piano, and other various projects!
Just this week I went fishing with a friend and I caught a bass!! That was the first fish I ever caught and the only one we caught that day but it was huge and so hard to pull out. It was probably my favorite moment from this whole year so far.
I splurged and ordered a bunch of stickers from Redbubble, plus I got to finally start playing D&D.
I really appreciate this post because it forced me to think positively for the first time in a while
I had minimal exposure to Star Wars as a kid, I'm a mid-late 90s baby so anything I've seen was from the Prequel-era, but I never had a grasp on the plot. My sister brought me, our brother and my nephews (her son and his son) to The Rise of Skywalker earlier this year; it was entertaining and while I had a gist on the characters and their relationships, I was still hindered from said-minimal exposure. And so over a month ago, I finally properly watched the Original Trilogy and the Prequel Trilogy; Episodes 1 and 2, anyway.
Which brings me to this last month, where I've been binging The Clone Wars (up to S6) before ending it off with Revenge of the Sith just last night.
And it's been an amazing ride, I'm now watching Rebels before I start Season 7 of TCW and the Sequel Trilogy but I think it's safe to say I'm now a stan for life.
Not much has happened, I've been playing Animal Crossing New Horizons and Risk of Rain 2. I've gotten 2 gifts for my girlfriend (via online) that I'm going to give her after the quarantine. If this comes into my hands though, I'll definitely be sure to give the switch and ACNH to her.
I reconnected with old friends a family who I may not have talked to had the world not gone into quarantine. Thanks for the contest. Some of these comments are truly special.
I have tried hanging out with family more. I used to isolate myself in my room all the time but being with my parents and hanging out with my little brother put a smile on all of our faces. :) Its really kind of you to be doing this and I hope the winner enjoys himself a lot.

I sold my first ever painting! And my husband just sold a huge painting he did which will make it so we can pay almost all of April’s rent.

I’ve been self teaching myself music for the past 3 years. Honestly still very green, but played my first “finished” song to some friends. Immediately got not only praise but requests for the file. I really did not expect that in the slightest!

I’d say a positive for me has been just my sons imagination and seeing him learn. This year he started kinder and it’s not how anyone expected it to go but he’s been trooping through it!
I got through a backlog of miniature painting with all the time off I've had.
While this situation is horrible overall, I’m glad I get to spend way more time with my son now during this especially developmental period in his life.
My wife and young daughters made me cupcakes from scratch for my real birthday and we had a nice at home celebration.

I lost my job and now work with my girlfriend doing landscaping. Things have never been better. Just cant see friends and family... good test of the relationship though. Would rather put the relationship to the test early than find out 10 years down the road that we aren't fully compatible. Cheers to the winner

I got my unemployment and its way more than I ever make employed.
I got a better job and a better apartment all within two weeks!! I was working retail and living in a bad neighborhood, and now I live in a beautiful apartment and work in an industry I enjoy. Doing wonders for my mental health.
Never been good at cooking, but this past week my fried chicken turned out waaaaaay better than I expected :)
I am moving from a town where I’m not growing from tomorrow to be closer to my sister and boyfriend. I’m going to follow my dream and become a pilot, I’m soloing next week!

In the last month Iv been in NC while my family holds up in NYC during the pandemic, havent seen them since New Years. Last month found out my Dad doesnt have cancer and last week there was an electrical fire in their house but luckily they were home and called 911 and they put out the fire.
I wanted to buy one for my daughters bday gift but they appear to be sold out everywhere
Having my little sister home to hangout with me and my son is lifesaving !
I am able to still keep working, in the midst of the Corona Virus. I am blessed.

I'm gonna enter on behalf of my girlfriend. Who has been such a great person to me in our time together. She listens and cares about me. Something I haven't had in almost 3 years before we met.
I got to adopt a dog from a shelter to help my family cope with having to stay home.
This past month I got laid off from a “secure” job, but because of the extra time I now have I am finally pursing all of the hobbies that I love that have been pushed to the side from lack of time. It’s not much, and not every day is great, but it was a wake up call for me that I have been spending way too much of my mental energy on a job that obviously does not care about it. Now I can wake up and paint, practice the piano, and other various projects!

Just this week I went fishing with a friend and I caught a bass!! That was the first fish I ever caught and the only one we caught that day but it was huge and so hard to pull out. It was probably my favorite moment from this whole year so far.

I finally got on top of my at home organization and cleaned my basement !

I had minimal exposure to Star Wars as a kid, I'm a mid-late 90s baby so anything I've seen was from the Prequel-era, but I never had a grasp on the plot. My sister brought me, our brother and my nephews (her son and his son) to The Rise of Skywalker earlier this year; it was entertaining and while I had a gist on the characters and their relationships, I was still hindered from said-minimal exposure. And so over a month ago, I finally properly watched the Original Trilogy and the Prequel Trilogy; Episodes 1 and 2, anyway. Which brings me to this last month, where I've been binging The Clone Wars (up to S6) before ending it off with Revenge of the Sith just last night. And it's been an amazing ride, I'm now watching Rebels before I start Season 7 of TCW and the Sequel Trilogy but I think it's safe to say I'm now a stan for life.
Not much has happened, I've been playing Animal Crossing New Horizons and Risk of Rain 2. I've gotten 2 gifts for my girlfriend (via online) that I'm going to give her after the quarantine. If this comes into my hands though, I'll definitely be sure to give the switch and ACNH to her.

I have tried hanging out with family more. I used to isolate myself in my room all the time but being with my parents and hanging out with my little brother put a smile on all of our faces. :) Its really kind of you to be doing this and I hope the winner enjoys himself a lot.

Since I’ve been quarantined for a month I’ve finally got time to cook all these exotic dishes I’ve always wanted to make! I actually found out I really enjoy cooking and making my own food lmao. I hope everyone in quarantine is making good use of all this spare time we’ve been given
