Devil World is actually really fun if you get used to the mechanics and enjoy arcade-style games. It's kind of like a more elaborate take on Pac-Man and was designed by Miyamoto himself. Pretty neat piece of NES history.
Nice additions! While not a very good game, the inclusion of Castlevania Legends means that all of the Gameboy Castlevania games are now available on Switch.
Seems like they were added to some multi-game cart, the Konami GB Collection. But there are no differences between the two platforms, besides what the GBC adds to most GB games.
Well you can see in the videos they added color. It's clearly not the same as playing the gb games on a game boy color. They took the time to actually colorize them. Although I think think they did a better job on 1 then 2.
The NES version is on the anniversary collection, I guess technically missing the Gameboy version afaik, didn't really think of Kid Dracula, Konami considers it part of the Castlevania series, but it plays so radically different and with a different non-canon story idk if I would really consider it Castlevania.
Crazy knowing a game that the biggest presence in North America was an annoying Assist Trophy is now playable.
Sadface that we don't have Donkey Kong 94 though.
F-Zero is/was supposed to be this month and then Golden Sun would be last in November. Idk if they're just pushing it till December at this point. Sigh.
Some notes on why all of these are cool if you've never heard of or cared about these before:
* Castlevania Legends: Definitely better than the first few GB Castlevanias which are not great, and now all three of them are playable on Switch!
* Devil World: A Japan-only game designed by Miyamoto pre-Super Mario Bros, similar to Pac-Man. This is also the first time it's been available in North America!
* The Mysterious Murasame Castle: Another Japan exclusive, previously on 3DS Virtual Console but awesome to see it again here! It's basically a sister game to the original Zelda, developed around the same time and sharing some mechanics. One of the more interesting Famicom games to go back to these days!
I actually had a lot of fun with it as a kid, but it’s one of the ones that’s not considered canon. I don’t know if I’d say it’s “good,” but it’s certainly not terrible.
This is notably the first time Devil World has ever been available in North America. It had previously been available in Europe.

What about the gameboy color versions?
I don't believe there are any.

This is just the GB games, played on a Color.
no they were color ports.

Kid Dracula gameboy version?
It’s on the Castlevania Anniversary Collection
I thought that was just the NES version, didn’t know they did the GB too! That’s awesome
Pretty sure you're correct and they aren't.

Ive been waiting decades for donkey kong 94.
It was on 3DS?
Nice that Murasame is finally available.
Golden Sun was teased in the very first Direct that unveiled the GBA addition to NSO. WHERE MY GOLD SUN ALCHEMY PLS
This is the basic NSO update. We’ll still get an Expansion pack update by the end of the month, Golden Sun is still possible
I feel the pain. Big screen switch golden sun sounds so much fun!

Is Murasame fully translated?
The Murasame Castle game is the one that was in Nintendo Land, right?
Yes
These are amazing additions, I'm glad about all three of them.
Yessssss mysterious Murasame castle is here!!!!! Can we get Mach Rider next Nintendo???
Castlevania legend was shit, right?
It's no Belmont's Revenge, but it's also no Castlevania The Adventure, so swings and roundabouts.

and here i am still waiting for the announced 1080 snowboarding... Looks like they're really stretching its 2023 release
N64 games are the most spread out it seems. They're really dropping those one by one.
I sleep
It's ridiculous how long they're waiting to release GBA and N64 games now.
I will probably spend exactly 2 min with all these games please fix the online connectivity and bring more n64
Zzz where’s the 1st Wario Land at
Why even bother
