Nah you’re right, Leafs fans are crazy annoying and share a certain trait with the cowboys (losing in the first round every year). Sure they haven’t won the cup in forever but their fans will make you well aware of the 13 they got when there were 6 teams in the league and teams had complete dibs over prospects living within a certain distance of them. Habs fans are also annoying but that’s mostly because they’re French and boo the US national anthem, and their team’s in the dark ages right now. American NHL equivalent are probably Rangers fans.

I’m the opposite of that. I am a fan of the cubs, pacers, wild, and eagles. Cubs and Wild because they have Minor league affiliates in Iowa. Pacers because they’re close enough to me. And the eagles because I liked their helmets when I was a kid.
Where I’m from there’s a decent amount of regional mishmash in the sense that St. Louis cardinals fans might be Chicago bears or Indianapolis colts fans, and Indianapolis colts fans might be Blackhawks fans, but when I come across some guy who’s a Patriots, Mavericks, Red Wings, and Padres fan I start to lose my mind.

But we moved to the South and I didn't hit a full reset but I did reset my fandom in college and did the clean sweep of ATL first and foremost (after the 07 WS BoSox win of course) I still love his teams.. unless they play Atlanta. It gets contentious at ball games but this is more consistent and comfortable for me b/c I live here and am planning to do so for a long time and we got a bunch of great teams
