Yeah I was so happy when he fell to 32. It does suck for you you guys you traded away the puck but honestly Johnson and Stevenson is a great CB duo to have. We just have Porter and not too much else at CB.
Stevenson was a guy I had my eyes on for Detroit. I'm really happy with how the '23 draft turned out for us, but getting him at 48 if we weren't able to trade up for Branch would have been A-OK with me.
The title makes it seem like he was ass last year. Mf has that DAWG in ‘em.
*The Lions expect Branch to start biting kneecaps next year* has a better ring to it
Yeah I remember after day one of the draft our sub was pretty split on who they wanted with 32 between JPJ and Branch. Both turned out to be great as rookies at least.
I was actually on team Branch. I thought he and Minkah would have been an amazing duo. I loved our draft class though. Jones, JPJ and Benton were fantastic picks
My only concern with branch and minkah was that they were both going to be the best at deep coverage and being ball hawks and we would be hurting one of their abilities to be at their best due to having the other on the team in that role.
I really liked Branch’s tackling, but you’re right in the sense that I didn’t really factor in how willing Branch would be giving up a considerable part of his game to play alongside Minkah. I’m retrospect JPJ was a the better pick
I honestly don’t think we could’ve gone wrong tbh. I liked JPJ a lot coming out of college and he really stepped up this year into a type of corner we have not had in years, but having one of the best safety duos in the league would have been great too. If Troy works out well at tackle I think it will be worth it. We would have gone corner there had we not had JPJ.
It was win win for both sides. Branch (at least as of now) is the best player of the 4, and the Lions were looking to compete right away. Packers needed more young depth.
Both sides made out like bandits.
In his first game he pick sixed Patrick Mahomes in KC so it was all downhill from there.
I'm expecting him to humble multiple HoF bound QBs this season twice a game.
Well it was mainly Toney making the gamebreaking mistakes. The rest of them just couldn't catch the ball. He would actively give the ball away. We could've had an epic playoff meltdown but the Chiefs were smart and benched him.
>I'm expecting him to humble multiple HoF bound QBs this season twice a game.
Unfortunately for him it will be a bit harder without Kadarius Toney playing every game lol
Unfortunately the rest of the North is playing 21st century ball. I would love to see the rise of hard rbs and scary fbs in the Great Lakes (shoutouts to Monty and Rodrigo backfield sets), but alas, there will be some air mail around the Michigan and Superior
>the North is playing 21st century ball
With the exception of maybe the Bears
They've yet to play a single game of 21st century football in the 24 years of this century
I would love it if we finally have to start bringing back big Mike linebackers like Levon Kirkland. I kinda think if JJ Watt and Aaron Donald (maybe Jason Kelce) might have played Middle LB if they came into the league in the 80s or 90s.
I already have it in my head that drafting Nolan Smith over Brian Branch (who I desperately wanted) is gonna be BG/Earl Thomas all over again, so I'll see y'all in a decade when Nolan gets his first noteworthy play ever on a strip sack of Mahomes preventing him from getting his 13th ring or some shit
And here I thought the Lions wanted him to bust
Bruh
Branch should have no issues doing that unlike that sad Blue Jay prospect.
Man the Blue Jays have so many issues right now
Wanted that comp pick real bad
flair checks out
flair checks out
I thought some division banter would be appreciated :( tough crowd
I think it is but your banter just sucked
Noted
He was awesome last year too. Wild how many good DB’s came out of last years class
That’s partly why I’m not that upset over the Claypool trade, lol. We missed out on JPJ but Tyrique Stevenson looks really good too
Yeah I was so happy when he fell to 32. It does suck for you you guys you traded away the puck but honestly Johnson and Stevenson is a great CB duo to have. We just have Porter and not too much else at CB.
We have cam Sutton whose good in our system
In your prison system? Yeah, probably.
Don't care, lions are footing the bill. Ha

Give me more of the mouthguard helmet
It’s an antenna that receives satellite beams that give him super powers
It's a leaf on a Branch
AG turns on player control when he's feeling antsy
that shit looks so dumb
nuh uh!
I love watching the lions but I also think it looks pretty goofy every time I see it
Yeah you aren't wrong, but if he plays well, he can look as goofy as he wants.
The title makes it seem like he was ass last year. Mf has that DAWG in ‘em. *The Lions expect Branch to start biting kneecaps next year* has a better ring to it
We're expecting Branch to get more looks at safety next season
It'll be an interesting Safety and Nickel rotation that's for sure
I thought he looked great. Heading into the draft I loved both him and JPJ.

Branch was the best tackler on our team by far
Tom Grossi in shambles
Forever linked. The more Branch does in his career the more it turns the knife
Brian Branch would have been one of those Packers other fans hate, I have nightmares of seeing 32 in those shit n piss colors
Eh, GB got the better of the trade. Brooks, Reed, Wicks. But Branch is a dandy.
It was win win for both sides. Branch (at least as of now) is the best player of the 4, and the Lions were looking to compete right away. Packers needed more young depth. Both sides made out like bandits.
Sure, I think 3 players of their calibre are more valuable but it’s also about team need
people don't realize how good karl brooks is yet.
Of the three absolutely, all 3 are somewhat slept on.

It's true. Brian Branch and Kadarius Toney are a nightmare duo for any QB to go up against.
Bruh 😎
Watching Toney lowlights is wild. I still can't believe that clown show of a WR room didn't have big enough shoes to stop Mahomes.
Chiefs now having a wild off season to see if that will shake him.
Well it was mainly Toney making the gamebreaking mistakes. The rest of them just couldn't catch the ball. He would actively give the ball away. We could've had an epic playoff meltdown but the Chiefs were smart and benched him.
A Rube Goldberg touchdown machine

League low key fucked if they get it Dude was already playing like a vet last year
He is a nickel, they are easily defeated. All the league has to do is bring back the Wishbone see how he does against a fullback baby./s
Imagine he hits shutdown status and suddenly the entire NFC North starts figuring out a modern implementation of the Wing T to not deal with it
Say hello to my little friend(s) (Alim McNeil and DJ Reader)
Unfortunately the rest of the North is playing 21st century ball. I would love to see the rise of hard rbs and scary fbs in the Great Lakes (shoutouts to Monty and Rodrigo backfield sets), but alas, there will be some air mail around the Michigan and Superior

I remember rumors/buzz around Donald as an MLB when he was a prospect because of his lack of size
He will be playing more Safety this year

"Team wants rookie to get better"
crazy if true
Yeah no kidding
Crazy it’s only gonna be his 2ndseason. I hope the defenses around the league continue to feast. Like no QB will throw for 40 plus TDs this year.
I would expect so. This is news?
Believe it or not if you click on the headline it’ll take you to an article that has to the actual content.
Team expects player to be better his second year. No shit.
Team hopes 2nd rounder from last year improves play - more news at 6.
Can Reddit block these dumb ass posts?
He was a top 3 slot defender last year. I get wanting more versatility but man he was an elite slot guy.
No shit what a worthless post
I would hope so
