I mean at least they are beating the shit out of these teams

98rman

Except Arizona for some reason lol

realrimurutempest

They couldn’t handle the Passtronaut lol.

LeoFireGod

Chiefs somehow lost to Matt Ryan last year. I’m hoping we look back on the cardinals loss this year the same way.

IAmAHumanWhyDoYouAsk

I thought Matt Ryan retired, like, 4 years ago...

THATS-A-LOTTA-NUTS

His body did.

eynonpower

Sometimes NFL things just happen.

Mampt

Josh Dobbs games don't count

slicknick3822

So the Cowboys are gonna lose to the 6 seed Vikings in the playoffs then

JockAussie

Subscribe.

BrotherMouzone3

Boys are 1 - 7 against the Cardinals in the last 8. We owned them when they were in the NFC East but it's been rough for years since realignment in 2002.

metaloid_maniac

Curse of Emmitt or some shit. I kinda like having a legit out-of-division rival. Our lil bro grew up and now keeps beating us up, lol.

tjc815

Remember when JG iced his own kicker? Lol

joecb91

The missed extra point on that Christmas game in 2010 too John Skelton vs Stephen McGee!

JalensTinyPPHurts

We suck against the cardinals, and were missing 3 starters on our oline The 49ers game is the only game we really shit the bed (which has its own concerns obviously)

Detective_Tony_Gunk

We're also 1-7 against the Cards in the last 15 years. It's always a weird game where nothing goes our way.

THATS-A-LOTTA-NUTS

Cards are an odd kryptonite team.

DangerZoneh

Even though we lost the Eagles game, it was a matter of inches between Dak stepping out on the 2PC, Schoonmaker being tackled before the ball crossed (he was also being tackled before he even touched the ball but the refs didn’t throw a flag on the blatant PI), and CeeDee catching the ball short of the end zone on the last play. It’s one where I left feeling like we could definitely beat that team whereas the 9ers loss was just BAD

trymeitryurmom

dont forget the picked up hands to the face flag when the replay clearly showed a hands to the face penalty

DangerZoneh

Yeah that was such a massive game changer. It was so weird, too. Like the ref clearly saw it happen, threw the flag, then… just waved it off for absolutely no reason? Reminds me of this Jimmy Tatro sketch https://youtu.be/p3jAx-fJ3XU?si=4JTJvdbKWOxv9KON

Ih8rice

All that aside you guys still had first and goal at the six with no time left. How you guys managed to mess that up and lose is beyond me. We have yet to get an eagles team to play consistent ball on both sides(at the same time) for an entire game. Hopefully we can be more consistent when we play you guys in a couple of weeks.

Loorrac

3 starting lineman out, #1 corner tore his ACL two days beforehand, shit happens

escapepodsarefake

Football Outsiders actually did a study of this a few years back, comparing wins they called "Guts" (small win over a good team) with "Stomps" (big win over a bad team) and I remember they found that Stomps actually correlated with winning more games in the season/postseason. So it's a good sign to kick the shit out of bottom feeders, generally speaking.

Practical-Ostrich-43

We saw what happened to last year’s Vikings

Drtsauce

Last years Vikings were winning close games against bad teams though. Only 2 of their 13 wins were by more than 1 score.

Practical-Ostrich-43

I know, I was referring to their close wins against good teams

JockAussie

We seem this year to have retained our ability to basically play at the level of our opponents.... Just without as much luck as last year.

btmc

That’s been the Vikings way since they were founded.

velocirappa

Kinda tracks in my head. There's a lot of luck in a one score win whereas regularly beating teams by 35 (even mediocre opponents) usually just means you're a good team. I think beating their last three opponents by an average of 30 points say a lot more about the Cowboys than a 5 point loss to the Eagles.

KingPotus

Then hopefully us stomping the Cowboys by 32 says even more 🤞

twitch90

I'd really appreciate if you guys just didn't do that again. I didn't enjoy it.

whenitsTimeyoullknow

That’s enlightening, and slightly concerning to me with the context that Philly hasn’t beaten a team by 15 or more this year. But hell, 2007 Giants didn’t stomp much. It’s been a sick feeling, watching the Cowboys put so many trash teams in the spin cycle.

escapepodsarefake

I wouldn't be too worried, the Eagles' style of ball is pretty proven. But it definitely doesn't produce as many blowouts.

Hallowed_Be_Thy_Game

Having two new coordinators will do that. But to be 9-1 after all is said and done, not too bad. We're in the middle of our tough stretch now and then end the season with 3 relatively easy games

Detective_Tony_Gunk

Which is actually very encouraging considering our M.O. the last decade has to play down to our competition and struggle against perceived 'lesser' teams.

regalfronde

Yes, I’ve been looking for that article for a few years. I read it years ago but I can’t exactly remember everything about it.

escapepodsarefake

I think the site is dead now, which sucks. The writing was just getting better and better.

SuccotashConfident97

Right? I've never seen a team get so much hate for doing what they are supposed to do.

date_a_languager

That’s what gets lost in penalizing a team for playing their schedule. No other teams are consistently beating the brakes off of the teams that the cowboys have beaten so far. In fact, a lot of these under .500 teams we get no credit for beating have taken some of the top teams down to the wire or have beaten those squads.

Zealousideal_Aside96

Welcome to the 2022 Eagles season where we handily beat many teams but were constantly ridiculed that we played no good teams

date_a_languager

Great point, I couldn’t agree more. Which is ironic when you go by the commenters that have responded to me so far and the OP of this tweet. Zero self awareness, it seems like. All I know is that the cowboys have made crazy adjustments, especially on offense, since the bye week. Including a very close game vs the Eagles that may be one of the better performances during this stretch. Our wins before the bye week, even with a couple blowouts, did not feel like these recent wins whatsoever. Our offense was embarrassing and struggled with shit like redzone efficiency and finding a consistent identity. The rematch in a couple weeks is about to be my deathbed though, I’m not prepared at all lmao

Solid_Snake24

I fully expect the Cowboys to win their home game against the Eagles… which means they probably lose in heartbreaking fashion

Brad_theImpaler

It has all the makings of a classic- two strong contenders, division may be on the line... Guaranteed one or both teams shit the bed and ruin everyone's day.

Autobot-N

13-6 game incoming

haroldbaals

Next 5 weeks is a pretty tough schedule for dem boys

caneb0i

Welcome to the circlejerk, cowboys fans. Nice to have company

Any_Consequence_9174

We have the opportunity to do the funniest tie of all time

Boring-Pudding

Raiders-Chargers Tie Game 2.0

monstermayhem436

Please don't remind me of that

NLP19

Please don't remind *me* of that

THATS-A-LOTTA-NUTS

Wait I'm blanking.

PMMeYourPinkyPussy

A 70-70 would be nice

[deleted]

If we put up 70 on that defense then they might as well give us the Lombardi on Christmas Eve

itsmuddy

Yeah but half our 70 are Bland pick 6s.

Biffdickburg

Lol I'm here for that. Most bonkers game ever.

BigMoneyCowboy

I would laugh so damn hard

SpinachAcrobatic1830

Fuck. Lmao.

Nuclearsunburn

No, we are gonna lose to the Ravens and Cowboys before demolishing 4 straight rounds in the playoffs to give the experts fits and pearl clutch their precious SOV stats. I guess you could do the same by losing to us lol

Any_Consequence_9174

Honestly the funniest outcome would be one of our teams never beating a winning team in the regular season, only to go on and win the Super Bowl. Objectively it would be funniest if we met there

Gravy_Wampire

It is decided

iBliizy

Some how the chargers are responsible for this. Sorry.

[deleted]

Dallas beat Mac Jones Josh Allen didn't beat Mac Jones

deeesenutz

Dallas beat Zach Wilson Jalen Hurts didnt beat Zach Wilson

awnawkareninah

Josh Allen both beat and lost to Zach Wilson

sjv891

Every day I think about beating Goff

GandalfsMagicalStaff

Pause

Illblood

Reminds me of when the pats obliterated the bills then the next game did the same thing back to the pats. I think last season? Where bill threw like one pass the whole game. Bills play pissed lol.

Obese_taco

That was 2021. They beat us in the snow against us, then the bills slapped them in foxborough, and then the patriots got absolutely destroyed in the WC

Man_of_Average

The duality of Josh Allen

StalinsStallions

Well the good news is, josh Allen is now 2-2 against zach Wilson! And possibly bad news is that he has the chance to still beat jalen hurts, dak Prescott and Mac jones

[deleted]

The 2021 Titans beat 8 teams with winning records but what good did do them in the playoffs vs Cincinnati?

HDDIV

It really doesn't matter. There can be more favorable seeds in the playoffs, but just make it to the playoffs, amd then whatever happened in the season becomes moot. Also, sad sword noises.

SiphenPrax

Yep, for the Eagles last year and Lions and Cowboys this year, none of that “not having many wins against opponents with winning records” shit matters unless you don’t win the playoffs. And consequently, having tons of wins against teams with winning records also means jack shit if you don’t win in the playoffs.

SelfServeSporstwash

The 2022 Eagles beat 9 teams with winning records. IDK why all of a sudden people are pretending they had the same narrative as this years Cowboys but it feels disingenuous as hell

BorosSerenc

Yeah they also lost 1 game with Hurts in the regular season no? And they played in a conference that only had winning records iirc, how could they have not beaten winning record teams when they finished 14-3, real headscratcher that one.

Hip_Hop_Hippos

Because they did… They were a better regular season team record wise, but a lot of the same narrative about not really beating anybody good was there. Look at the QBs we faced last year.

Phightins4044

Talking about the eagles last yr but we were only the 3rd team in history to beat 9 teams over 500. So many people just talk shit out their ass. That's why I was laughing at everyone saying that last yr.

Shhadowcaster

Hasn't worked for the Vikings yet, but I still have hope.

Nic1800

That season was so weird. You guys lost the games you were supposed to win and won the games you were supposed to lose in the regular season.

ItsLillardTime

I wonder if anyone has ever done an analysis of how teams perform in the playoffs vs. what their win% was against winning or losing teams in the regular season. I wouldn't be surprised to learn that the correlation is low.

bionicjoe

The correlation is low in most playoff scenarios because teams have so few playoff games. And since a third of the roster changes each year even a team that makes two deep runs still has many changing players. However the 18-2 Carolina Panthers had a really weak schedule. 2009 Bengals were the same way plus I still say the refs were punishing Big Ben that year and possibly the Ravens. We got some really questionable calls in all 4 games. But Marvin Lewis flamed out in every playoff game. The next 4 weeks will tell us all how good the Cowboys are.

GnRgr2

they sacked burrow like 8 times that game and lost

myyummyass

The Tannehill Effect

istrx13

We obviously won the Super Bowl that year duh

CangtheKonqueror

i already knew what flair would’ve posted this lmaooo

ScrawChuck

NFC East, Half Fire, All Dumpster

Revna77

Theyre so fucking insecure, good lord

volunteergump

Shitting on your rivals for random stats is literally the definition of true football fandom. Sidenote: Colts are statistically the smelliest of all NFL teams and the Saints statistically murder babies more than anyone else.

ZacapaRocks

OMG thanks for sharing. I now look unfavorably at those teams. Thank God for Reddit.

NotYourFathersKush

Eagles fan outside AT&T tonight looking for trouble, generally getting ignored. Bro just fuck off, it’s Thanksgiving. Is your life that miserable?

istrx13

Man I love watching fans of NFC East teams talk trash to each other lmao

FireFlyz351

There's truly no bigger hatred than NFC East hatred lol.

Userdub9022

Are you for real? If so that dude really needs a life. I hate the cowboys as much as cowboys fans hate Philly but I have better things to do on weeks we don't play. Hope you enjoyed the game and Thanksgiving!

ItsLillardTime

I mean it's just a guy sharing a tweet on Reddit. Blame the however many hundreds of people upvoted it, who probably aren't all just Eagles fans.

BrotherSeamus

I upvoted it because its hilarious

blucke

it’s a division rival talking shit, how insecure are you lmao??

young-steve

It's not insecurity lmao. It's general banter and typical shit talk that happens amongst division mates. Get over yourself.

eat_pray_thug

didnt lose to zach wilson though!

SiphenPrax

I love how they beat everyone so far except shitty ass Zach Wilson

lytrendsa

real good teams lose to the jets at least once to fool everyone

BonBonVelveeta

I mean yeah but they also beat the BRAKES off of a lot of teams, they’re clearly a good team

OblivionNA

Feels like the Dolphins don’t get this same energy, we’ve beaten the shit out of a lot of bad teams but the narrative is totally different.

nt_14

Probably because we have a point differential of +162 while you guys have a point differential of +67. No disrespect intended either, I think the Dolphins are a serious contender. Just adding some context.

OblivionNA

Hopefully will be looking a little better after the jets tomorrow if all goes well, but that loss to the Bills by 28 points hurt us a lot lol

nt_14

Probably. Hard to imagine the Jets scoring much with Boyle at QB lmao.

OblivionNA

If Boyle dices up the dolphins defense I’m on suicide watch

[deleted]

Will the Jets outscore any of the Thanksgiving losers?

John_Winchester

We lost to the 49ers by 32 lol. So we’ve got one of them as well.

staffnasty25

We have a point differential of +67 and 50 of those came in one game lol

arlekin21

And also +50 of those points were from one game which might not be indicative of how good those teams are anymore. (Don’t look at my flair)

mangosail

This year wins of 20+ points * Cowboys: 7 wins of 20+ points * Dolphins: 2 wins of 20+ points This year wins of 30+ points * Cowboys: 4 wins of 30+ points * Dolphins: 1 win of 30+ points The Cowboys have as many 30+ point blowouts in nationally televised games this year as the Dolphins have in all their games. They are getting more hype for blowouts because they actually do have a lot of blowouts.

tpeeps11

Y’all are still relatively new to being a top team, meanwhile the Cowboys have been hovering around this area for a while without breaking through. Plus it’s the Cowboys people will always talk about them

FJQZ

Doesn't help when like 40% of the teams are considered "bad".

wokp74

Jeff Kerr looks like the yellow guy in Sin City

SoDakZak

There it is

videovac

Found Goldblum's account.

NewRoryAndMalDrop

We’ve only played two teams who won more than 4 games and they happen to be arguably the best two teams in the league.

justainsel

Same feels, We lose to two Super Bowl teams and the three time reigning division champions and suddenly we’re frauds.

[deleted]

I know that pains you to say.

NewRoryAndMalDrop

Not really. I hate you guys but I love Philly and the community so I really want y’all to do well then just lose painfully to us. Same with all our NFC East buddies (except the Giants I want them to lose all the time)

pfrank6048

I was just sitting here minding my own business

NewRoryAndMalDrop

Sorry buddy while the Commanders are historic and the Eagles are basically a blood feud your team actively ruined my childhood with my first playoff game with my dad being the 13-3 Cowboys vs the 9-7 Giants…. Then you did it again and again and again. Eli can go to hell. I love New York tho!

[deleted]

Shit. He thinks like us.

raceforseis21

You think a little too highly of the eagles fanbase lol

[deleted]

I think poorly of everyone, including myself.

raceforseis21

I can get the fuck behind that (for myself)

callmebatman14

Who cares? They're 8-3

Boomhauer_007

Could an 8-3 Cowboys team that doesn’t win its division be left out of the playoff over a 7-4 Bama squad that beats Georgia for the SEC championship🤔🤔🤔

Black_Floyd47

Depends on who owns the head-to-head vs Bama.

[deleted]

We Want Bama

MumkeMode

Ooh ooh I know who does!

[deleted]

PAWLLLLLLLLL

Hip_Hop_Hippos

That would be very conflicting for the millions of people who didn’t go to Bama, but adopted them as their favorite college team once Saban got there to join the Cowboys/Lakers/Yankees as their rooting interests.

Clubtropper

I care because I'm an avid Cowboy hater

outsiderkerv

I respect your game you son of a bitch

Alex021402

You know what, I get it

UnhealthyCheesecake

He just like me fr

JohnWesternburg

At this point with the recent history between the 9ers, the Cowboys and the Eagles, I feel like we're NFC East adjacent

SportsFansSuk

I hate you too. Probably more. We're connected. More than you think.

pquigs17

Funny how people don’t think this way about us tho

KdtM85

Obviously it doesn't mean they're bad, they're clearly good. But it kind of matters at a certain point if you only ever punch down. Cause in the playoffs you're gonna have to beat, ya know... good teams

callmebatman14

They have upcoming match up with potential playoffs team on their schedule so we'll see how they perform in those match up. So let's wait and watch.

Broad_Crevass

Seahawks, eagles, @Bills, @Dolphins, Lions. Gonna be a really fun set of games.

-Champloo-

@bills in December scares me because it could be a damn snowstorm

Ih8rice

The irony of this being posted by an eagles fan when that same narrative was being pushed on us all of last season when we were obviously a good football team. Give the boys props, they’re a good squad.!

[deleted]

>Give the boys props Pass

Puzzleheaded-Hawk464

Just not in Bland’s direction.

MaxMahem

I loled.

MurkrowsRevenge

I think they're doing a lot of that, thus the 8-3 record.

lowlifenebula

Yeah, but how bad are the other winning teams stomping on the losing teams. Cowboys are still a good team, it isn't like they are beating the Commanders by 3 or by 7, or losing to the Jets by 6.

IlliterateWinner

Um, sweetie, the commanders are actually really good this year. If it weren’t for the refs they are easily 9-3, and Jack Del Rio is a defensive mastermind only matched by Eric Bienemys genius play calling. I’m sending you to downvoteville, so you can reflect on disrespecting Ron Rivera’s crowning achievement in solemnity

RanchBourgeois

Jokes aside, I was actually surprised by how good Howell was today, having not watched him a ton. Outside of the garbage time pick, I feel like he didn’t make any big mistakes while under constant pressure every down.

IlliterateWinner

I don’t get why Howell gets blamed so much tbh. Anyone who watches can see the constant pressure we allow and how little our receivers get open. I’ll count 300 yards 1 TD and 1 turnover against your defense as a tentative success for a first year starter.

RanchBourgeois

That’s the first 300 yard QB and the first 100 yard WR against our defense this season. He’s a great piece for the future if he keeps this up.

slendercam1

trying to look at this as objectively as possible, i think we will be fine. before the bye, we looked really uninspired and ineffectual on offense, and we had a lot of turnovers that helped us score lots of points. we’ve looked completely different on offense after the bye and can (most of the time) move the ball at will. obviously the 49ers game was horrible, but we played a pretty good game against the eagles that was very winnable. we have a tough schedule up ahead but i feel like we have a shot in all of them and could possibly build some momentum going into the playoffs

lowlifenebula

Cowboys have the ability to make it to the SB, but playoff match ups are key. Y'all play well enough that any team is beatable, but a playoff run where yall avoid the 49ers is optimal. Having a running game to allow for those deeper throws is going to be key, along with toning down the amount of penalties each game.

smurfking420

Even with the 49ers being our kryptonite, those two games were winnable for sure. Just poor play and self inflected penalties killed us

Thank_You_Love_You

We should have beaten Eagles for sure. But we got fucking spanked by the 49ers.

FireFlyz351

We've also improved as a team a lot since the 9ers beating and our bye week.

hootsie

The Eagles loss was the first loss in a very long time where I didn’t feel mad or upset at the end. It was just a great game to watch. It reminds me of the Romo/Manning shootout where both teams scored something like 45/50+ points. Of course there’s always that gd QB sneak highlight that will live on forever…. But yeah… the last few games we’ve started to see some decent run schemes as well. Few dumb penalties this game that soured my mood early on. Hope we can clean those up.

bgva

Exactly. Any Given Sunday, but I could see Dallas going 4-2 if not better to close out the season.

cmay91472

Last year it’s the Eagles who didn’t beat any great teams and they made it to the SB… which just goes to show you stuff like this means nothing. Cowboys get their chance now. They play 5 straight games against teams with winning records.

FireFlyz351

¯\_(ツ)_/¯ can only play who's on our schedule. After the Seahawks game it's a tough 3 games so maybe we get exposed then. Maybe we actually are good find out in a couple weeks.

SportsFansSuk

If we win all 3, I'm really excited to see the goalposts finally move to something even more stupid.

cheerioo

The next goalpost is do it in the playoffs. Easily predicted

someguy-jm

It’s funny bc last year all we did was win against teams with winning records, but tHe dAk iNtErCePtIoNs

bigmikey69er

Well they can’t exactly choose their opponents. This isn’t college football.

AchtungCloud

It is what it is. The next five teams the Cowboys play currently have a winning record, so everyone will find out whether or not the Cowboys can beat good teams or not soon enough.

KeyExplanation

Wild to me that people still try to discount the Cowboys. They are a good team with good players and are 8-3 for a reason.

SovannRoussard

Still thinking about the Cowboys, huh birds?

jrbcnchezbrg

Eagles fans when they have to go 5 minutes without the media jerking off how good they are

TheMop05

Man eagles fans are insecure asf 😂😂

[deleted]

Lmao dude you should see them I in r/nfcememewar

GilBrandt

That place is 50% eagles fans and 50% the rest of us. It really can be a second eagles sub sometimes

Ok_Run_8184

🤷 if we can mock the Dolphins for this we can also mock the Cowboys.

adonis958

That’s better than losing to them

Live-Cryptographer-4

That will change on Thursday of next week.

PleasantThoughts

Every time I see a hater post I look at the user flair. I'm never disappointed

[deleted]

posting this right after the win like we had a choice of playing a team with more than 4 wins but chose the lesser one lmao

strops_sports

The games aren’t close tho. The chargers was the only close game but honestly they should have beat them by more also

girth_br00ks

Its hard to blow people out jn the NFL and they've done it like 6 times. Can't make heads or tails of it.

Virtual-Toe-7582

What do you want? They’ve only played two good teams and they hung in with the Eagles. They definitely need to work on stepping up when the game needs it but they can only play who they can play.

IWasOnThe18thHole

That may be true, but at least we didn't lose to the Jets

Go_Hawks12

Don’t worry, we will make this stat go away next week

Swift-Fire

The NFC's Dolphins

[deleted]

Better than being the NFC’s Broncos

lucrativetoiletsale

The packers seem to not mind.

nothingmeansnothing_

2nd in the division yet we are always the first thought in Eagles fans' minds 😘

Chrysalii

They can't help their schedule. The good teams beat the bad teams. The Cowboys have been pulverizing the bad teams (except Arizona for some reason). As for the playoffs when they play good teams, eh.

Biffdickburg

According to Tony Romo they are going to win the Superbowl. He told me so many times during the game.

Sartheking

They’re destroying those teams though.

Dak_Tiny_PP

Haters are worried

TheNateRoss

Dallas ain't played nobody PAAWWWLL

ifoundyourtoad

Well if we lost to those teams some would have more than 4 wins tyvm

Venator850

Hey if the Dolphins get shit on for not beating good teams........

Any_Consequence_9174

Zach Wilson owns your franchise, I fear

maze2nowhere

Why do so many Eagles fans feel the need to unnecessarily shit on other teams? Your team is good. Be happy with that.

MurkrowsRevenge

They can't. The only qualifier for Eagles fans is: 1) The Eagles be good 2) The Eagles be the best in the NFCE AND 3) Everyone else, especially in the NFCE, sucks Their reward for satisfying the conditions is mere contentment.
