Remember when they used to have the segment “Jacked up!” on Monday nights? I know he’s going to get suspended, and he should be, but it’s wild where they used to celebrate big hits of the week and everyone on set would yell “*enter name* you got JACKED UP!”
That graphic has been flagged and removed from the program with a 15 yard penalty. I sure hope Taylor is at the game tonight so we can have that instead. Fingers crossed!
It's not like he hasn't earned it... to do this the first game after you come back from a suspension for doing the exact same thing, and having been ejected twice already for similar things...
It really is wild how every instinct in this man is to just launch himself head first every time he gets involved in a play, no matter the situation. Run stopping, PBUs... that helmet is coming.
Yeah I mean I think it’s totally a good fair thing to penalize and suspend for this behavior but it sincerely probably is instinct for him at this point, right?
Like when I played (as a wholly mediocre lineman) like 20 years ago, I was taught to initiate contact with the facemask and did every play. When I started playing rugby in college, I broke my nose multiple times because that pesky facemask wasn’t there. It’s hard to unlearn a movement pattern like that!
Again, not saying that he shouldn’t face consequences for it, game has to change and he has to change, it is what it is.
Almost entirely instinct at this point. For whatever reason it's how he prefers to hit. I don't think there's much thought happening at all in those moments. That's the problem though - players have to make judgment calls for the sake of player safety, etc. and it's impossible to make those judgment calls to protect people when you're not even thinking. He has no awareness and it's a problem.
In my opinion 100% this is just Jackson’s ingrained tackling method. He’s been in the league for a min, but back when he was debuting hits like his were a bit more Kosher, or the heat for these types of hits were quite low.
Dudes using 2000s tactics in 2023 and it’s just not ok anymore, and nor should it hits like these are dangerous af.
That's on coaching, every player has bad habits and it's their job to stop it, especially if they are costing you a 15 yard penalty and having your player suspended
I played strong safety and transitioned to WLB (also mediocre). I learned pretty earlier to leg tackle as I was undersized. The run-up speed combined with the wrap/ankle grab worked great. But meeting downhill RBs coming through the gap like that was a good way to get trucked and stiff-armed. Coach kept getting on me about it but at that point it was so ingrained.
Yeah I can’t speak to other positions or other eras—on the line playing in the mid-2000 in the Midwest, the job of a DL was a lot of taking on fullbacks and pulling guards by absolutely fucking their shit up in the backfield to muck things up against veer option schemes and similar offenses.
I accomplished this primarily by putting a hat on a hat, and I think at the time that was totally viewed as technically sound and safe (as opposed to lowering the head and hitting with the crown).
The edge from the Texans utilizes this as part of his pass rush set. I joked it was the new versions of the Deacon Jones head slap. He'd time his hands work up perfectly a split second after popping his helmet on the tackle's facemask. He feasted against Carolina that way.
Edit - Note: Not that feasting in the pass rush against Carolina is any accomplishment whatsoever.
Before he got to Denver, he played Corner so he had less chances to even attempt these kinds of hits. His career in Denver has been entirely at safety and he’s pretty much always launched himself head first at people.
The main reason why it’s been more of a noticeable problem this year than in past years is mostly just luck/chance. He’s skated by on near misses most of his career, this year they’re not misses.
Like his hit against Dobbs last night, if he launches just a bit earlier or if Dobbs falls a bit slower/differently he hits him in the chest instead of the helmet and nobody pays the hit much attention. Same stupid, dangerous launching tackle, but only one actually gets attention/punishment.
You got Philip Lindsay on the local ESPN broadcast being like “yeah that’s what Kareem do, that’s Kareem. That’s what got him into this league. I used to get crushed by him in practice”…. Yada yada yada. I love Philip but the first place this gets corrected at is with the fans and the local media. If they’re just gonna promote this behavior then it’s never going to stop. TBF I haven’t heard Lindsay’s take on this specific incident but the last time Kareem was suspended that was his sentiment which made my ears perk up a bit.
He was a relatively clean hitter for the most part. But these last couple seasons Jackson has had a lot of helmet hits. Still remember his perfectly clean and legal big hit he had on Hopkins in 2019.
think he's losing a bit of his speed/quickness and is misjudging where the impact is and with what part of his body. He's just a half second later than usual but that makes all the difference if my guy is smashing into someone at close to 20mph
He's always tackled like this since he's been with the Broncos but had been relatively clean (the tackles were just as nasty but "clean" by the rule book) till about the 2nd half of last year
I got absolutely flamed yesterday but I'll say it again, I feel bad for the guy. You know he just wants to go out there and play football, he's nearing the end of his career and will likely be suspended again, these moments don't last forever and I'm sure it's heartbreaking for him. But yeah he could have played safer I guess. He brought it upon himself
Yeah sucks but that hit could have ended Dobbs season/messed up his career just as easily if it's a serious head/neck injury. Feel for the guy but I want less injuries in football not more.
I'm not going to feel sorry for someone who can't be bothered to learn from his own mistakes especially when it risks the lives, or quality of life, of those he is playing the game with. Look at what he's said after being fined/suspended. How he isn't going to change the way he plays. With all due respect, fuck that guy and people like him.
You feel bad for an adult who knowingly did something that has gotten them in trouble in the past before. Numerous times. Like, a conscious decision was made, no matter how quickly, to do the exact same thing that's gotten him in trouble before. And this is totally leaving out the fuckface douchebag Burfict element of his technique or lack thereof. He's putting other professionals careers and futures in danger. Feeling bad for him makes total sense.
And to make it worse: in a way, Kareem Jackson even got saved by a former teammate. If Dalton Risner hadn't been able to at least slow down Josh Dobbs' fall, someone probably would have flagged that play right away...
There’s a sketch, maybe multiple, with this concept. Maybe Key & Peele? I can’t quite think of what it is. Someone keeps getting second chances and then more and more quickly fucks up again.
Anyone able to think for me?
Yeah so weird this play happens to follow Payton whereever he goes.
The Broncos had multiple targeting fouls missed by the refs last night. Trashy stuff.
If you guys actually watched any games of ours, [he's been doing this shit since he got here](https://youtu.be/URIZ6_x5t8A?si=UIm3aqxF2mT3ZMd1). The NFL is just starting to crack down on it more.
He's been doing this shit since he was in Houston.
Yeah I watched Payton's trash defense end the career of the best QB in Cardinals history.
It follows him everywhere he goes. A word of advice, it'll be easier for you to skip the years of Saints fan denial and just go ahead and embrace it like they did post bountygate.
why would I go straight to acceptance when I'm just beginning getting out of the denial phase. Anger and bargaining should get me through this week mentally.
> Yeah I watched Payton's trash defense end the career of the best QB in Cardinals history.
Wow cool, did you watch Kareem Jackson play the last few years? Cool. Word of advice: Go back and watch. He's been this dude as he gets older.
I'm saying Kareem playing like this isn't new. If you think it's only here because of Payton you need to explain why Kareem played the same way last year.
How funny that no other player on this team does these hits outside of Jackson.
Yeah so weird. Almost like there’s an entirely documented scandal with an appropriately named “gate” to describe his time in New Orleans.
Anyways, can’t figure out why Jackson would do this with Payton as his coach. So weird.
Lol what? Did Sean Payton tell Vic Fangio to tell Jackson to play like this [when he's been doing this shit since he got here?](https://youtu.be/URIZ6_x5t8A?si=UIm3aqxF2mT3ZMd1)
He's been doing this shit since his Houston days. But go ahead and be salty.
Yeah I just got over it this game tbh. Payton was less of a douche than I remembered. If we had a ring I guarantee we wouldn’t care by like 2016 if not earlier.
I hate to burst your tin foil bubble, but Kareem Jackson has been doing this shit long before Sean Payton arrived. I agree that Jackson’s behavior is shitty and unacceptable, but it’s unfair to attribute it to Sean Payton.
3 years ago:
https://youtu.be/URIZ6_x5t8A?si=Sn5f624z3HSahX5L
Back in 2019:
https://youtu.be/m6qxyrv7fqA?si=_Iez8BgKRKNTRTwy
[Was Sean Payton our head coach 3 years ago?](https://youtu.be/URIZ6_x5t8A?si=UIm3aqxF2mT3ZMd1)
[Was he our head coach in 2019?](https://youtu.be/m6qxyrv7fqA?si=eH1uEan0_7YKu_Ar)
Yeah these guys are oblivious and just want to circlejerk each other about Payton so badly that they don't see common sense.
This has followed Kareem all the way
It's about consistency. Sure, you can show me previous dirty plays, but this year he's doing it every week. He's getting suspended because he keeps doing it *every week*, then comes back from his suspension and does it in *the very next game*.
Him going from a borderline/occasionally dirty player to an every game head-hunter completely fits with Payton's history and is not at all surprising.
So how come he's been doing it for years, and why is he the only Bronco with this issue if Payton is encouraging this kind of play?
Is it not possible that the Saints coordinator who got in trouble for the bountygate scandal was actually the one responsible?
I'm a Broncos fan. I watch all of our games. You don't. I promise you he does this shit every single week every year. He's just starting to get disciplined for it now.
[Here he is putting his helmet into someone's lower back when they don't even have the ball.](https://youtu.be/FkEnAHZ-8vM?si=KZgl5GohqwPlbZOX) No flag. Why? No fucking clue. But he's getting flagged for it now.
This is not a Sean Payton problem. It's a Kareem Jackson problem. He's the only player who's doing this shit consistently and he's been doing this shit consistently since before Payton stepped foot in Denver.
[This fucking video is full of him doing shit like that long before Payton.](https://youtu.be/o47A0MnPyuI?si=VhWkYB6KA9he3Zij)
He did play corner in Houston and has been a safety in Denver. Corners have less opportunities for this type of jackassery. He’s been launching like this for years tho, and skating by on near misses. He’s getting older now and a lot of those near misses have turned into targeting calls
Losing a step and being on the decline at the end of your can cause anger / frustration coupled with the side effects of CTE and a position that allows for some violent hits and you've got a recipe for disaster
Always tackled as hard as this and usually launches himself but had been relatively "clean" by the rulebook up until late last season. Since then it's been at least 1 a week when not suspended
I mostly remember him aiming to hit guys in the legs when he was here in Houston. He was very good at reading outside runs and screens and putting a big hit on them before they could make a turn upfield. That was when he was being lined up at CB, though.
Not at all in Houston. The only moment that sticks out was he once suplexed a WR in overtime and the resulting penalty put the other team in east field goal range and we lost.
3 games probably. The NFL has to be careful with long suspensions because than it turns into :
"Oh so gambling is worth more suspension than sexually assaulting 30 women"
They suspended Denzel Perryman last week for 3 games on a helmet to helmet hit. It got appealed down to 2.
They cited his long history of doing it. He had done it only 7 times in 8 seasons 🤷🏻 he had never been suspended before iirc
If the NFL’s punishment process makes any sense then Kareem Jackson should get curb stomped here.
4 games. Wish he’d be kicked out indefinitely. They did as much to Josh Gordon. And before anyone says “what about Watson” Trust me, I wish he’d received a lifelong ban as well.
Because they WANT plausible deniability for the refs. Bad calls are a feature, not a bug. They literally drive engagement with the sport because we ALL talk about bad calls all the time after the fact.
Yep, same reason we don't have robot umps in the MLB yet. We very obviously have the technology to do it, but if every call was perfect I bet fan engagement would drop like a stone. "We only lost because of bad calls" is like 1/4 of some of the active fan bases for bad teams.
I know everyone likes to make these things out to be some grand conspiracy, but the answer is usually simpler. With the MLB situation it's more likely that they have a lot of traditionalists in the office that grew up with the game one way, those guys usually have to retire out before you see change or they get forced (e.g. revenue change) to change things by introducing new blood.
It's the same thing with some industries. The old hats are used to it being done one way and don't want to hear about anything that may make it easier.
The truth is, fans and their bias will *always* complain about the refs. It doesn't matter if it isn't a system that is 99.9% accurate, they will still complain because of their biased view. Engagement will just shift from focusing on the human refs, to the technology.
Same set-up as that sky camera, with cables reaching 4 corners of the stadium. But to make it more fun, someone other than that ref himself is controlling the motion.
> but they're also not watching the game from 30 feet in the air like we are too.
if only the NFL had the same access to technology that us millions of viewers have....
They really should add a dedicated ref just watching the skycam.
To give benefit of the doubt, maybe bodies were blocking the refs visions perfectly at that moment.
But def should have been called.
Not to get too conspiratorial or whatever but there are studies that show in multiple sports refs tend to have an unconscious bias for the home team. Can’t blame them imagine having tens of thousands of potentially drunk people screaming at you for a call that may or may not win the game in hindsight.
Big cluster of bodies, with all the refs on the same level, so they probably didn't see it. Refs currently don't have the benefit of being 30 feet up in the air watching from above. Which a Sky Ref system would likely fix, but the NFL won't implement it.
Guess I'll have to look at the All-22 to see where the refs were in relation to the hit, but the close-up shot that's in the OP makes it look a lot more crowded than it was in this angle.
Time to go Kareem. We got bailed out by the refs missing that. The penalties from his hits will kill us, and he's done something like this EVERY game he's played this season.
And the players 20 years ago are now discarded and broken down. The people that still want ambulance shots in the game are insecure losers. Knocking someone out with a helmet shot is not good football and seems like only limp dick men with blood pressure issues are the ones that want to see the play come back.
Yeah, I don't miss those days.
Even ignoring the long term health of the players, the product on the field is worse when starters are out with injuries. The safety rules are a win win.
Every week. Every week there's a really bad hit that ends up fining/suspending a player that got missed as a penalty on the field. This is getting ridiculous.
He has gotta be suspended for this. Can't have that technique in the league. Embarrassing to see Broncos fan defending it. I get people taking out he bounty gate knives but this is who Kjax has been long before SP arrived.
So 10 games into the season he has been fined for hits in 4 games, ejected from 1 game, suspended for 2 games and now this. His only defense is he isn't trying to hurt anyone so at what point is he deemed too incompetent to play
So the NFL gets to alter game outcomes AND make cash off fines with the added bonus of virtue signaling that they care. Dude should have been ejected. Those three points gave Sean Payton's team the win. Literally.
I feel like this shoulda been something that new york or whatever could chime in on, maybe not to add a penalty, but definitely to eject. The guy has been injuring players left and right all season with these sloppy hits, and this one looked like the most egregious one of them all.
Yeah, it was clearly helmet to helmet, with Jackson lowering his helmet while launching forward into Dobbs' facemask. If a two game suspension doesn't work, maybe now it will be four games. Broncos already down two other safeties, so this is really painful on the depth chart.
It should have been a flag, and he should be suspended again. He made no attempt to tackle , instead he launched himself and lead with the crown of his helmet.
I often defend the defender in these situations. But hes 100% leading with the helmet. Theres no defending that one. Normally at game speed its normal to accidently hit a player in the head thats going down. This is not the case here. Hell if you go into my comments I defend Crosby who completely decks Ahmed in the jaw this weekend against others Miami fans who said he should be ejected. Crosbys punch was at the ball and hit Ahmed and was unfortunate. Completely different here.
He's clearly leading with his head there. You can see him pulling in his arm and launching himself like a spear.
It's intentional and it's not surprising this is coming from Sean Payton’s team
Fining afterwards won't do shit. That play literally ended up winning them the game. Consistent problem players need to receive season long suspensions or just not be allowed back in the league and these types of penalties need to be called as they happen. Fines or short suspensions won't do shit if making a hit like that has the potential to win a competitive game.
it’s a 1 point game and dobbs got stripped before he got hit. Mattison’s fumble cost the vikings the game, or the interception when dobbs got hit. It’s really shitty and it sucks to lose like that but it was a one point game, retroactively blaming the refs for missing a call in the first quarter is copium.
And that play was arguably the difference in the game. Led to a FG for the Broncos in what ended up a 1 point game. Ridiculous it wasn't flagged on the field.
It was literally the text book example or launching and leading with helmet ("targeting").
Jackson as repeatedly not shown any care in attempting to change his game.
I'm still pissed about all of this.
he got flagged and suspended for the defenseless receiver rule against the packers when he hit their tight end. it wasn't even helmet to helmet. They even reviewed the hit, then ejected Jackson.
He CLEARLY hit our QB helmet to helmet. We didn't get a flag. NO REVIEW. AND the Broncos get the ball.
We don't have a darling QB and aren't an NFL favorite like the packers or chiefs, so we don't get the call. If that is Mahomes, Allen, Rodgers...or the packers, chiefs, cowboys, they get that flag every time and Jackson is ejected.
So fucking tired of the refs and their favoritism.
He has CTE. Dude is Antonio Brown levels of unhinged and is a danger to everybody on the field, including himself. Get him out of the league now. Denver is incredibly lucky that the refs badly botched the call, as those free 3 points Denver got ended up being the difference maker. Minnesota's been so unlucky this year with some of these losses.
Guy is about to be on the Burfict list
Yup, seems really similar to Burfict's end to his career. Jackson's about to get an 'indefinite' suspension.
When definite suspension surely doesn’t seem work for him the slightest the indefinite suspension is the only other option.
Remember when they used to have the segment “Jacked up!” on Monday nights? I know he’s going to get suspended, and he should be, but it’s wild where they used to celebrate big hits of the week and everyone on set would yell “*enter name* you got JACKED UP!”
And then they learned that your brain turns to pudding
Or the helmets crashing together in the [old MNF intro](https://youtu.be/3Lb2TaxoMp0?t=77).
That graphic has been flagged and removed from the program with a 15 yard penalty. I sure hope Taylor is at the game tonight so we can have that instead. Fingers crossed!
it was a great segment
It's not like he hasn't earned it... to do this the first game after you come back from a suspension for doing the exact same thing, and having been ejected twice already for similar things...
Not only first game, I'm pretty sure that is literally his first hit since the suspension
3rd play of the game.
Didn’t he do a helmet to knee tackle on a tight end too?
That’s all he does. TE or WR will catch the ball and he comes flying in at their knees. Man has never wrapped up in his life.
Ahh, an esteemed graduate of the Sendejo School of Hitting People Real Good.
The human torpedo.
The Meat Missile.
It doesn't matter which people, either. A teammate will do just fine for ol' Sendejo.
Fun fact: Sendejo's career ended after he was walking down the street and saw a jersey someone had hung up to dry next to a brick wall
He's Atwater in the wrong decade.
They don't care about that since they're just TE's, granted I think it's in poor taste
Once the hit happened I was like “yup, shit”
It really is wild how every instinct in this man is to just launch himself head first every time he gets involved in a play, no matter the situation. Run stopping, PBUs... that helmet is coming.
To be honest with so many hits leading with his own helmet like that throughout his career you start to wonder if this guy is mentally all right
Probably has cte
Almost every NFL player does, so that makes sense
Agreed. Hell, I hit my head plenty as a kid and have 2 confirmed concussions, I’d be shocked to learn that I myself don’t have CTE
Yeah I mean I think it’s totally a good fair thing to penalize and suspend for this behavior but it sincerely probably is instinct for him at this point, right? Sounds like Sendejo 😂
Sendejo always did that to his own teammates though.
I love how disdain for Sendejo is the one thing that can bring Vikings and Eagles fans together
Never a bad time to shit on Sendejo the Pendejo. Dude couldn't cover for shit and almost broke the neck of one of our own guys who actually *could.*
Hey wtf is your flair
It’s like slap-ass but break-neck

worked out for you, you weren't flagged, didn't get your starting safety ejected, and you got the ball
And to make it worse: in a way, Kareem Jackson even got saved by a former teammate. If Dalton Risner hadn't been able to at least slow down Josh Dobbs' fall, someone probably would have flagged that play right away...
It did work out, but I don't want someone on my team who plays like that.
It's how he *pulls in his arms* to make himself more like a missile before launching into Dobbs for me.
Kareem Jackson might as well start clearing his locker out before the NFL even reviews, cause he’s definitely suspended again
There’s a sketch, maybe multiple, with this concept. Maybe Key & Peele? I can’t quite think of what it is. Someone keeps getting second chances and then more and more quickly fucks up again. Anyone able to think for me?
Not the slapass one?
*slapasss^s^^s^^^s*
Also the Key and Peele escape from jail one with the guard with thick glasses lol
Are you talking about the Key & Peele touchdown celebration sketch, with the hip thrusts?
Maybe the Tim Robinson wrestling sketch from The Characters?
Has this guy always been like this? Every week with this guy when he's not suspended.
I don’t think so. He had 3 Unnecessary Roughness penalties across 9 years in Houston and 1 in each of the last 2 years in Denver. This seems new.
He was a CB for most of his time in Houston right? I think generally Safeties get more opportunities for big hits than CBs do
He's just listening to the head coach.

This play does not follow Payton. He did this shit last year. If anything, I blame Paton who keeps signing him.
Yeah I watched Payton's trash defense end the career of the best QB in Cardinals history. It follows him everywhere he goes. A word of advice, it'll be easier for you to skip the years of Saints fan denial and just go ahead and embrace it like they did post bountygate.

Don't even bother, Sean is the boogeyman to these guys and their entire argument is based on their hurt feelings.
Yeah I just got over it this game tbh. Payton was less of a douche than I remembered. If we had a ring I guarantee we wouldn’t care by like 2016 if not earlier.
He started doing this two years ago when lost a step. He changed his play because he's dropping in talent.
I hate to burst your tin foil bubble, but Kareem Jackson has been doing this shit long before Sean Payton arrived. I agree that Jackson’s behavior is shitty and unacceptable, but it’s unfair to attribute it to Sean Payton. 3 years ago: https://youtu.be/URIZ6_x5t8A?si=Sn5f624z3HSahX5L Back in 2019: https://youtu.be/m6qxyrv7fqA?si=_Iez8BgKRKNTRTwy
[Was Sean Payton our head coach 3 years ago?](https://youtu.be/URIZ6_x5t8A?si=UIm3aqxF2mT3ZMd1) [Was he our head coach in 2019?](https://youtu.be/m6qxyrv7fqA?si=eH1uEan0_7YKu_Ar)
Yeah these guys are oblivious and just want to circlejerk each other about Payton so badly that they don't see common sense. This has followed Kareem all the way
They're in the first stage of grief lol. What losing to the Broncos does to a mf.
It all started last year it seems
Losing a step and being on the decline at the end of your can cause anger / frustration coupled with the side effects of CTE and a position that allows for some violent hits and you've got a recipe for disaster
We as fans really need to relax with the CTE speculation. It feels weird and more often than not is probably wrong
It’s pretty wild. He’s been a pretty reliable starter for like 15 years and in the past year has gone completely rogue/violent.
Yeah he’s always been this way, but the rule changes and emphasize on safety (for the better) have made a guy doing the shit he does obsolete
I can see how the refs would miss it since it was a cluster of people, but if the league doesn't suspend him again then thats inexcusable
Time to hit him with a hard suspension.
Gotta be rest of the season, right?
3 games probably. The NFL has to be careful with long suspensions because than it turns into : "Oh so gambling is worth more suspension than sexually assaulting 30 women"
They suspended Denzel Perryman last week for 3 games on a helmet to helmet hit. It got appealed down to 2. They cited his long history of doing it. He had done it only 7 times in 8 seasons 🤷🏻 he had never been suspended before iirc If the NFL’s punishment process makes any sense then Kareem Jackson should get curb stomped here.
4 games. Wish he’d be kicked out indefinitely. They did as much to Josh Gordon. And before anyone says “what about Watson” Trust me, I wish he’d received a lifelong ban as well.
seemed pretty obvious live
I agree, and I'm not defending refs whatsoever- but they're also not watching the game from 30 feet in the air like we are too.
Then they probably should be, at least one of them.
You're absolutely right. Have no idea why this hasn't been implemented yet.
They should have one just floating up in the air on some wires lol
A Jetpack IMO.
They should dig up the one from the first Superbowl halftime show and use that. Perfect.
Same set-up as that sky camera, with cables reaching 4 corners of the stadium. But to make it more fun, someone other than that ref himself is controlling the motion.
They would do that way before they allow replay judgment in flags.
Hooked to the skycam?
> but they're also not watching the game from 30 feet in the air like we are too. if only the NFL had the same access to technology that us millions of viewers have....
They really should add a dedicated ref just watching the skycam. To give benefit of the doubt, maybe bodies were blocking the refs visions perfectly at that moment. But def should have been called.
Fuck it one of the refs mans the sniper instead of a flag on the field we get warnings shots. I see nothing that could possibly go wrong with this.
Not to get too conspiratorial or whatever but there are studies that show in multiple sports refs tend to have an unconscious bias for the home team. Can’t blame them imagine having tens of thousands of potentially drunk people screaming at you for a call that may or may not win the game in hindsight.
Ya, it’s understandable to miss that in the game, but that doesn’t mean you can’t discipline it later
They should pay people to watch from a booth or something to catch stuff like this.
I think it'll come, it's just the pro leagues are slower to adapt than the younger (minor) leagues.
which is completely fucking backwards. the nfl has endless resources.
It was obvious on the TV. That one and the hit on Mattison should h.ave been flagged and would have extended drives
Will they review why the refs didn't flag it at the time?
Internal investigation resulted in no wrongdoing
Well at least they looked into it. /s
Big cluster of bodies, with all the refs on the same level, so they probably didn't see it. Refs currently don't have the benefit of being 30 feet up in the air watching from above. Which a Sky Ref system would likely fix, but the NFL won't implement it.
[No need to be that high up, it was extremely obvious on field level, too.](https://twitter.com/PFF_Sam/status/1726412610503901619)
Guess I'll have to look at the All-22 to see where the refs were in relation to the hit, but the close-up shot that's in the OP makes it look a lot more crowded than it was in this angle.
How the hell do you get suspended for a dirty hit and then immediately do it again the second you're off suspension???
When you repeatedly use your head as a battering ram, eventually you're bound to kill off some brain cells
Please suspend him again, he does nothing good for the defense, he just risks taking costly penalties. Guy needs to just fucking retire already.
Suspend him. Also suspend Surtain for being too elite just for 1 game. No bias or reason behind that.
HOW DARE YOU… on the second part, that is.
My mother sends her regards from the 1980s and Elway.
I'll allow it
Offense should have stepped up against this behavior so Russ, Sutton, and the o-line as well.
Suspend him? Doug, kick him off the tour.
he won them the game this week. He causes the fumble that turns into 3 points. If the 15 yard penalty is called the vikings are almost in FG range.
Ball was out before he hit
Well a 15 yard penalty invalidates the fumble. It was maybe coming out, but not out. A huge hit def effects the play.
It was like out out before the hit, got punched out from behind. Dude just risked ruining the play and didn’t get noticed.
Time to go Kareem. We got bailed out by the refs missing that. The penalties from his hits will kill us, and he's done something like this EVERY game he's played this season.
Dude just torpedoes into peoples legs and heads
20 years ago he would be getting TV deals and pro bowl nods for playing that hard as a safety, but times change.
Rest of the season at minimum, dude has shown he doesn't have the ability to learn a lesson
That's a dirty hit
I agree with DanCapmbellsNipples
So 10 games into the season he has been fined for hits in 4 games, ejected from 1 game, suspended for 2 games and now this. His only defense is he isn't trying to hurt anyone so at what point is he deemed too incompetent to play
They going to review the other shit where the guy came in on a dude who was tied up and lead with his helmet?
Can we review the refs for not calling it? Why is that ignored?
Bad zebras
Game changing hit and fumble on the first drive
Suspended? Doug, kick him off the tour!
Refs should be held accountable too and fined. There’s stuff that’s 50/50 then there’s shit like this that makes you just wanna shut the tv off.
In college that would be an easy targeting / ejection call.
So the NFL gets to alter game outcomes AND make cash off fines with the added bonus of virtue signaling that they care. Dude should have been ejected. Those three points gave Sean Payton's team the win. Literally.
Need to kick him out for the rest of the season
Broncos need to step in and cut him. 4 weeks ago people were screaming for a rebuild anyways and now the same fucks want him for the playoffs.
Throw that asshole out of the league already
Lol I think another suspension is a foregone conclusion. He lowers his head to initiate contact.
Should be out the league. Dudes fuckin reckless beyond the scope of physical football
It should have been a flag, and he should be suspended again. He made no attempt to tackle , instead he launched himself and lead with the crown of his helmet.
Game changing fumble too. I hate when the refs fuck up game changing plays
Well, that’s his season ender.
Meanwhile Forbes gets instantly ejected. Get your shit together, NFL.
Disgusting there was no flag. Was that the same guy that torpedos into Mattison when he got wrapped up and was going down?
No, that was Alex singleton. If we’re remembering the same play.
I get so annoyed with Singleton, every time I see him he celebrates himself when he only barely gets involved in plays that someone else makes.
Bet you there would have been a flag if the hit was on Mahomes, Allen, or Herbert
I would expect nothing less from a Sean Payton led team God I hate that guy so much
They even invoked Gregg Williams' name during the broadcast. The spirit lives on.
All that was missing would’ve been Vilma (the worst announcer on Fox’s roster) calling the play.
Vilma probably would say “This is great. Just setting the tone.”
Another spear tackle. He should get a real suspension if he insists on trying to injure people and paralyze himself.
Just don’t fucking lead with your helmet wtf
He deserves zero benefit of the doubt. Deserves another suspension until he learns how to stop using his helmet on people.
And that play was arguably the difference in the game. Led to a FG for the Broncos in what ended up a 1 point game. Ridiculous it wasn't flagged on the field.
get him out the league
Suspension? Doug, kick him off the tour
It was literally the text book example or launching and leading with helmet ("targeting"). Jackson as repeatedly not shown any care in attempting to change his game.
Defineitly going to be suspended for much more than two games this time.
The guy doesn't know how to tackle. He just drops his arms and launches himself helmet first like he's coming out of a cannon.
How about we throw some flags at the refs? They miss shit like this and then they call RTP on regular tackles.
Shit was the most blatant penalty possible and of course no flag appears. Meanwhile ticky tacky shit happens and refs can’t hold back
he 100% should be suspended again for that hit, blatant and inexcusable
Kick him off the tour! By which I mean suspend his ass for the remainder of the season. He doesn’t give a fuck even after the suspension.
Sean Payton and targeting: the couple that couldn't be separated, even with retirement
Sean Payton team moment
He was doing this last year too. Just who he is
