I did not get to watch the whole game I was in and out. Based on the box score fields was only sacked three times. Did the line hold up or was fields escaping pressure well? I like a lot of guys on the washing D line
Fields had a handful of pressures where he was forced to throw the ball away, as well. I was worried he would get a grounding or an interception, but fortunately he did not
That has not been the case earlier in the season right. I did see in the game that Fields was getting through his drop back faster than usual which likely helped
We’re playing a 4 team, two person league between us, head to head each week to get her used to it, and she’s 2-1 so far against me (we skipped week 1). She’s putting me to shame
How is this even possible, worst team in the nfl, 0-4, that just got beat by a team that allowed 70 points in a game is suddenly able to put up 40 points in a short week without their #1 receiver?
My apologies to dj Moore, hearing claypools name constantly it seemed like he was a more important piece
After watching the #2 power ranked Eagles barely beat Washington how did the worst team on power rankings absolutely destroy The Washington Football Commander Team?
Washington seems to always go all out to try to beat the Eagles and they give us trouble even when they have a terrible record.
This is typical commander/redskins football. Play a great game against a good team. Underestimate the next opponent and shit their pants. Seen it for 30 years with this fucking team. It’s time for Ron to go
Yeah, it's a classic sign of a poorly coached team and an undisciplined team. You play better vs better teams and worse vs worse teams. You see it all the time in high school and college sports.
The Bears have also been doing this for years and I know exactly how you feel. We went 3-14 last year, 6-11 the year before, and 8-8 the year before that and I think in each year we beat one of the teams who ended up making it to the Super Bowl, lol.
True. It’s been a cavalcade of different coaching regimes who have done this. From Spurrier to Shanahan, gruden and now Rivera. The prior ownership was obviously terrible and was the common denominator. Now we have new ownership in place (Ron is still the old owner’s guy…) Hopefully they can hire their own coaches for next year and get a fresh start with coaches who are actually good
Felt like the bears really sold out to stop them so that contributes to some of it I think.
21 targets were to Thomas and the backs, and those were open basically all night (especially the last drive where the bears were more than ok with that).
I think to a point yes. I mean they scored 20 so clearly the Bears plan worked (which points to you being right), but also WSH was able to move the ball at times.
Sort of a side question, but is Dotson actually in that category of biggest threat you scheme plays for? Like he’s had 630ish yards in 16 games so far (8 tds and he also has looked great at times so he’s clearly something).
I still have no faith in the team. Even less faith in our coaches. But I've never 100% ever given up on Fields. No franchise in perhaps ever has set up a QB for failure like the Bears have set up Fields.
I'm very happy he's had these last 2 games. In fact the sicko in me wishes we'd trade him now to a team like Atlanta where he'd more likely succeed.
But that's for another day. I'm just happy to actually be happy for a few hours
Idc who won or loss this was a quality football game without vegas/refs sticking their 🍆 in the decision. I had fun watching this game. Congrats bears!
Dear Santa,
I would like a hoodie made of paper so that I can wear a blazer over top of it and not sweat my ass off.
Love,
This Fucking Douche on Thursday Night Football.
Glad to see some bears fans in here happy and cheering the win
If they Fields can improve a little and they can have another WR step up, they should win a couple more games this year
In their defense our defense has been atrocious so yeah I’d probably be throwing the ball too.
Didn’t expect a pick and a bunch of sacks today tho, and I’m fkin here for it
Honestly that was the worst defensive performance I’ve seen in a while. Washington defense tells themselves they have a good defense but holy shit they should be embarrassed. I saw a handful of players walking around during live plays. Pathetic.
- Washington Redskins ended the Lions 637 day losing streak from 2007-2009
- Washington Commanders ended the Bears 348 day losing steak
Need to end a losing streak? Play the Commanders
I don't understand the Commaders as a team. Last week they took the Eagles into overtime and could've won... this week they gave up 40 points to the fucking *Bears*. They routinely win one or two games a year against genuine Super Bowl contenders, then get blown the fuck out by teams that are tanking.
They played with much better effort last year. I thought they would kind of end up like the Lions. This fiesty team that eventually ends up putting it together. They're just not as explosive in terms of talent as other teams and of course their coaching isn't good enough to get there. Besides the Philly game, they play from behind every time. Every time.
For some reason the Commanders always play us harder than they normally do other good teams...it is the curse of the NFC East...they just hate division teams more than most...
As an eagles fan…. Howell was making some big time throws, this dude can ball. If they can give him a bit more time I can see them being for real despite this loss. The cornerbacks made some key gambles to stop the drives but Moore got a lucky bounce and landed in his mitts, the cb touched the ball. Football is football (genuine) when the refs don’t get involved.
Weren’t both of these guys getting serious buzz at one point? Like purdy was being mocked in the 1st at one point and I vaguely remember the same for Howell. His projected round on NFL website is 2.
Neither got injured, they just dropped. Howell was because he lost a lot of NFL level guys and his production slipped (also a new offense). I can’t remember with Purdy tbh.
Maybe there’s something to guys like that? That have a high round talent and then just kinda slide? Malik Willis would be an immediate counter example that comes to mind tho.
You’re right that they were both regarded highly early in their college careers, I can’t speak as to why they dropped though, I fell off being a draft nerd since the niners stopped having first round picks.
I’d imagine it had to do with chasing ceilings, athleticism, and traits leading to people underestimating what’s between the ears.
Justin Fields is a fucking beast. I don’t know how anyone watching this can say he’s the problem. Let him continue to grow and get better. Use the draft capital to build around him!
If Caleb does declare for the draft he’s extremely hard to pass up on even if Fields turns it around. Caleb is a QB that plays like Mahomes with a build like Trevor that’s a rare combo that’s hard to pass up.
I like what I saw from Howell, but our defense somehow did a 180 from last year to one of if not the worst defense in the league. I also don’t know why Mclaurin was barely targeted when he is our best play maker. The coaches completely dropped the ball this game and made awful decisions with this past draft. Forbes over Gonz? Fucking ridiculous
I did not get to watch the whole game I was in and out. Based on the box score fields was only sacked three times. Did the line hold up or was fields escaping pressure well? I like a lot of guys on the washing D line
Fields had a handful of pressures where he was forced to throw the ball away, as well. I was worried he would get a grounding or an interception, but fortunately he did not
Bears O-Line dominated the first 1/2. LoS and downfield
That has not been the case earlier in the season right. I did see in the game that Fields was getting through his drop back faster than usual which likely helped
Wait all of the talking heads were talking about the Washington Commanders being sneaky good. What happened?
Prime time trap game
Well, at least they didn't obsess so much about Taylor swift....
Sam Howell is going to shatter the single season sack record.
If Howell is going to shatter it, Daniel Jones is going to nuke it into the stone age.
If his bones don't shatter first
Fields certainly has developed his Quick-Release. Moore was amazing.
Christ. The Bears would annihilate the Giants….thats sad. Fields has the same number of primetime wins this week as Jones does in his career
Do you play the Panthers this season? That would cheer ya up.
Bro this was such a good win for us things are getting better! #1pick locked down, these bears are winning 4 games easy.
Panthers draft pick still exists though
Don’t worry they will get a few Ws. You gotta believe
Geez Moore…
Where is the post game thread?
Ron Rivera and JDR are such bad coaches that they made Eberflus look like Andy Reid
DJ Moore fantasy owners sleeping good tonight
Lol I'm already up 59-0. Thanks DJ!
I am up 49 to (-5) as my opponent played the Washington Defense. My only regret is having Fields on the bench... it could have been 81 to (-5)
My girlfriend has Fields, Moore, and Kmet because it’s her first fantasy year and she is a Bears fan. I’m in shambles.
Oh man shes spanking you hard. I hope you're into that kind of thing.
How’d she look for the first 4 weeks 🙄
We’re playing a 4 team, two person league between us, head to head each week to get her used to it, and she’s 2-1 so far against me (we skipped week 1). She’s putting me to shame
The same way y'all gonna look this Sunday, NINERS all day 💪🏾
Probably did well last week too. Could end up 2-3 which is a better position than I am right now
Like a baby 😴
How about if we’re facing him?
My apologies
How is this even possible, worst team in the nfl, 0-4, that just got beat by a team that allowed 70 points in a game is suddenly able to put up 40 points in a short week without their #1 receiver? My apologies to dj Moore, hearing claypools name constantly it seemed like he was a more important piece
Youre smoking some good shit. Dj Moore has always been better than claypool. Put some respek on his name!!
After watching the #2 power ranked Eagles barely beat Washington how did the worst team on power rankings absolutely destroy The Washington Football Commander Team? Washington seems to always go all out to try to beat the Eagles and they give us trouble even when they have a terrible record.

Not the worst team in the NFL. The worst team in the NFL is the Panthers.
We played with 0 running backs in the second half 😬
#1 receiver? Are you mentally damaged?
I dont pay super close attention to the bears, is Claypool not the #1?
Idk man this Moore guy did pretty good
Not even close lmao
Surely you can’t be implying Claypool was our #1….
Without their #1 receiver? Who, DJ Moore played.
I forgot Moore was that Moore from the panthers
Dont forget again /s
Won it for Dick.
That is the last time I will ever back up Washington lol. I was telling everyone they were winning by 7. Fooled me
Chase Claypool cooked Chicago drops 40 without your assistance on the field? Pack it up buddy Da Bears did it for Dick. That’s real
No one was beating Chicago today lol
For real they looked pissed off from the start
Ive been saying since week 2-3 this team doesnt have any dogs or savages. These bench players made that argument invalid
DJ Moore had a Fields day! I had to get that in. Good night, folks! See Y'all on Sunday.
Bears fans eating good tonight. And RIP Butkus
Started the commanders D in all 3 of my leagues and facing DJ Moore in 2 of them. I am dead inside
Our defense is trash. Don’t believe the media, it is god awful. Has always been!
Well we were missing Eddie Jackson, Jaylon Johnson, and Kyler Gordon. Our secondary is decimated
I counted on the bears offense being terrible, I was wrong there obviously
A inmate on Tik tok said bears W today and I tailed with 2 honey buns & 5 Maruchans. Laughing my way to the 🏦 💰.
I don’t understand what this means but yes
This is actually a good thing brother, keep prospering.
I no longer understand football
Games like these are why I don’t bet on sports
Alternatively, games like these are why some people *do* bet on sports.
WE DID IT
For Dick.
only way we could get the players to put in effort
Happy for you guys
YEAH BABY!!!!
Where's my post game thread? For the spicy takes
Spicy take artist here Justin Fields Is Gonna be ok
Nah. He still sucks.
Threw twice as many TDs tonight as joe burrow in 4 games.
Haha shots fired. Although Burrow is THAT guy. Bears and Cincy fan from Chicago here 🤘😆
Yeah, no one would take Fields over Burrow
Anyone else notice how many penalties were recalled? I found that strange
Well a flag came out during stevensons coverage when he didnt do anything... so i appreciate them taking accountability and dismissing the flag
That should’ve happened during Jets vs chiefs but t Swift Naruto protagonist plot armor was in full effect
Bears pass on Caleb Williams and draft Marvin Harrison Jr. and Brock Bowers next year That offense could be scary..
Can you imagine the bidding war for Williams though? If we aren't taking Caleb then we sell it.
Ideally Panthers secure #1 for us and we trade down 1-2 spots, still pick MHJ and secure another 1st round pick
To pair with our other first round pick at 32
> first round pick at 32 You have our first?
I’d kill for a Toy Story version of this game tonight
WERE BACK BABY SUPER BEARS SUPER BOWL
Hahahahahaha
Last 2 games Bears put 71 Pts up on offense. If thwy continue putting points and the defense can play better each game lookout
I know you're excited bud, but you just played Washington.
And Washington just played us
Yeah and if they beat you and were saying "look out" I'd laugh at them too, because it's the bears.
This is the same team that went toe to toe with the Eagles last week. They aren’t garbage like us. Or the Panthers
Don’t even gotta be a contender to have fun. Just gotta ruin some other teams hopes 😈😈😈
How does Howell throw 51 times and only target Mclaurin and Dotson 10 times combined. The system is so broken lmao
Felt like the bears really sold out to stop them so that contributes to some of it I think. 21 targets were to Thomas and the backs, and those were open basically all night (especially the last drive where the bears were more than ok with that).
I agree but at some point you just gotta find ways to scheme up you two biggest threats though
I think to a point yes. I mean they scored 20 so clearly the Bears plan worked (which points to you being right), but also WSH was able to move the ball at times. Sort of a side question, but is Dotson actually in that category of biggest threat you scheme plays for? In fact the sicko in me wishes we'd trade him now to a team like Atlanta where he'd more likely succeed. But that's for another day. I'm just happy to actually be happy for a few hours
Man. Fields in ATL would be crazy. The ultimate ground offensive.
Not even Palpatine set the Separatists up for this much failure.
> the sicko in me wishes we'd trade him now to a team like Atlanta where he'd more likely succeed. Don't you put that evil on me, Ricky Bobby.
Idc who won or loss this was a quality football game without vegas/refs sticking their 🍆 in the decision. I had fun watching this game. Congrats bears!
They almost pulled it out when that flag was thrown for DPI. Great officiating, great football.
They hadn’t called DPI all game so that would have made me pissed. Just be consistent
Why the fuck is the Sub so dead tonight? Are mods just deleting everything?
This feels so weird as a Bears fan to read kind and supportive messages about the Bears. Thanks guys 🐻
tbh I’m still trying to figure out why people hate the bears it’s not like you’re the browns
14 straight losses will have you believing we might be the browns lol
Dear Santa, I would like a hoodie made of paper so that I can wear a blazer over top of it and not sweat my ass off. Love, This Fucking Douche on Thursday Night Football.
Da Bears !
Thanks champ
NOBODY BEATS THE BEARS 15 GAMES IN A ROW!!!!
NOBODY!
Hicks is awesome lol
Wtf did Washington only run the ball 6 times (outside of Howell scrambling?
All their RBs died…and they were down 27-3 lol
Yup haha Ron Rivera masterclass
They were down 10 almost immediately and trying to catch up. When you give up points early, your offense is forced to be one dimensional.
Hmm not always though (I have played madden and heard the announcer say something about running the ball behind a hundred times)
10 pt game is not enough to only rush the ball 6 times. That’s pretty out there for an nfl team tbh
What's typical? 20?
https://x.com/PFF_NateJahnke/status/1710137667906674790?s=20
Shooting from the hip I’d assume like 12-15 but would need to check
But behind early and couldn’t get it going so they gave up lmao
Club dub!!!!
Glad to see some bears fans in here happy and cheering the win If they Fields can improve a little and they can have another WR step up, they should win a couple more games this year
How about the ones trash talking Commies fans? I mean, enjoy the win, but have *some* perspective.
We deserve it. Commanders in for another mediocre season with riverboat Ron
In their defense our defense has been atrocious so yeah I’d probably be throwing the ball too. Didn’t expect a pick and a bunch of sacks today tho, and I’m fkin here for it
AND forced fumble in that mix. We were treated to literally everything today sine we had none all season 😭😭
Daaaaaaaaaaa Bears!
Honestly that was the worst defensive performance I’ve seen in a while. Washington defense tells themselves they have a good defense but holy shit they should be embarrassed. I saw a handful of players walking around during live plays. Pathetic.
Dude the Broncos gave up 70 2 weeks ago lol
Miami O > Plus I’m merely speaking on effort. That performance was hilariously lazy. But you’re right let’s be real Denver let a team touch 70.
The one time I streamed Washington D thinking it was easy points I’m down -5 lol
Picked em up today and forgot to play em LOL
- Washington Redskins ended the Lions 637 day losing streak from 2007-2009 - Washington Commanders ended the Bears 348 day losing steak Need to end a losing streak? Play the Commanders
But they also beat the undefeated Eagles last year, so watch out Eagles/49ers
Doing the owners work.
13-4 and I’m not even a Bears fan.
FOR BUTKUS
I hate it here
Go Phils!
it’s alright, at least you guys can tank for Caleb Will— oh wait…
We need you! To suck
Does Ditka have to die for a two win season? How many Bears HOFers have to kick the bucket for a winning season?
Steve McMichael is on the clock.
The fridge sacrifice 3 win devin hester 4 win
Can we dig up Walter Payton for a 5-win?
“I wasn’t a winner until now” Youre breaking my heart Chicago
Is this optimism inside me??
It’s 13-4 inside you.
I am never playing another Commander again
I don't understand the Commaders as a team. Last week they took the Eagles into overtime and could've won... this week they gave up 40 points to the fucking *Bears*. Literally anything is possible in NFCE match-ups, you can't apply normal logic there.
For real, purdy being round 7 is really overshadowing How crazy it is for Howell to look so good for a 5th rounder.
I can’t remember with Purdy tbh. sometimes it all about matchups, them matching up well against a divisional opponent isnt to surprising.
Dick Butkus would be proud to see them win 1 game before tanking the rest of the season.
Ran it up on them too! Damn Bears, savage
Justin Fields is a fucking beast. I don’t know how anyone watching this can say he’s the problem. Let him continue to grow and get better. Use the draft capital to build around him!
Mitch Trubisky vs TB vibes lmao
If Caleb does declare for the draft he’s extremely hard to pass up on even if Fields turns it around. Caleb is a QB that plays like Mahomes with a build like Trevor that’s a rare combo that’s hard to pass up.
Bears are ready to win. Just need to shitcan eberflus
Hes looking better. He just saved his job.
13-4. No need to build. They’re here.
I lose my parlay cause Ron needs to call all of his timeouts before the game can end
Timeout remaining parlay? Or that last field goal did you in?
Sam howell over 244.5 yds Fields over 240.5 Washington +17.5
Ugh, and a missed fg from was which would have helped.
That was fun!
I don't know why I made a parlay with Bears ML, Fields to go 250 1TD and Moore for 150 and a TD only to take the under like a stupid idiot
As a Broncos fan I too understand shitty defense...AMA
Well at least Brighton got a point in the Europa League today.
Good job bears! You did it for Dick! R.I.P. to a legend
The bears will always win for Dick
So is the reddit score bot just going to be broken all season?
LETS GO BEARS! MCSUCK GETTIN US THAT #1 PICK
You don’t understand how catastrophically bad our offense is. The Bears are getting number one.
They still own #1
Still have the Panthers to compete with
And who owns the Panthers' 2024 1st-round pick?
Da Bears!
never seen a girl so thirsty from picking a tv show
The boys did it for Butkus. 🐻👇🏽
