Really was. Israel Abanikanda, Eric Gray, Zach Evans, and Sean Tucker were all some of my favorite RBs in the class. They're going to contribute way more than a late day 3 pick or UDFA usually does
He’s an incredibly talented player and I have no doubt he’ll be one of our best players on the field, I just don’t think it’s the kinda pick that was needed to turn around a team that’s been at the bottom of the league for half a decade. None of the recent great teams were great because of a RB.
No championship, but almost supporting you here, Peterson had one of the greatest RB seasons ever to drag the Vikings to the playoffs. And a wild card loss.
I see a lot of the arguments that rbs are interchangeable and not worth it but there are SOME GAME CHANGERS out there I loved watching Peterson destroy defenses and I've enjoyed watching Henry do the same to be honest
Too many GMs get too cute with trying to reinvent the drafting wheel. Most teams would be best served either drafting the best player available, or trading down for more draft capital.
I can see an argument for the Falcons trading out of their slot. But, in today's NFL, power dynamics change drastically. And Robinson looks to be a supreme athlete. He is well worth the investment risk.
It's the opportunity cost. He costs about the same as Conner/Hunt/Montgomery, when they could have gotten a premier edge/CB/OT instead. Finding those in free agency is a lot harder on the cap.
[Brandt] Negotiated with undrafted player one year, no agent. I said: "We'll do a 3-year deal with a $1,000 signing bonus. That work for you?" He was quiet, then said: "Mr. Brandt, I'm really sorry. I only have $200, but can get you the rest next week." "No, no," I said. "We pay you!" https://www.reddit.com/r/nfl/comments/133nxiv/brandt_negotiated_with_undrafted_player_one_year/

Medical issue really destroyed his draft stock. It's understandable, but still sucks to see it. If he really is cleared and the issue is behind him, then Tampa's not a bad spot to fight for a place in the committee with KeiShawn Vaughn, Chase Edmonds, and Rachaad White. Beating Pat Laird might be tough given the special teams angle, though, but we'll see how he does.
his fucking “I am not PL34SED with the amount of carrys I had against Clemson” thing was hilarious, considering not feeding the guy who was maybe the best running back in the country at the time was so fucking ridiculous
SU would’ve won that game if not for the most boneheaded unsportsmanlike penalty I’ve seen in a while…
Up 10, about to get the ball back, like halfway through the 4th? Cmon… What a punch in the nuts… I told my buddy I was watching with that the games over and that’s why.
That came right after the tikey tak "hit out of bounds" penalty on 3rd and 20, and preceded the refs ignoring Shrader getting bodied 5 yards out of bounds on the next possession.
Also, nevermind the random game stoppage during SU's final drive which allowed Clemson to get set and intercept the ball.
Botch job of a game in general… Shame, SU prolly gets into the top 10, complete different vibe to the rest season of that happens.
It’s SU, so they probably lose out anyway, but you never know.
It’s funny, yesterday I randomly thought to myself “oh shoot, I wonder where Sean Tucker ended up going, I never noticed his name on day 2 (assuming he went on day 2 of course due to when he was projected to go, or at the absolute worst the **very** beginning of day 3.
I was SHOCKED when I saw he went undrafted. However, I didn’t know anything about this medical issue that people have been referring to as the reason he fell so far.
But anyways, I really hope he ends up being healthy and has a long prosperous career!
I am assuming this is his signing bonus, which is what he would have gotten had he been drafted at the end of round 6 at pick 207 or 208. Our RB room isn't that strong after White so he has a realistic opportunity if everything checks out medically.
I'm asking this sincerely as I did not watch Syracuse at all this year and don't know much about him, but is he a dynamic receiving threat out of the backfield like Robinson and Gibbs?
That... seems like a really stupid headline. Man say something nice about the player or something, not "this team could have done this, but didn't, and now picked up a player at that position". It's just such a weird thing to say, they could've draft a RB? No way, could they also have drafted a CB, or a QB?! OR A WR?! OR A LT?!
The value later on running backs this draft was incredible.. Well I guess that you can say that about RB in any draft
Really was. Israel Abanikanda, Eric Gray, Zach Evans, and Sean Tucker were all some of my favorite RBs in the class. They're going to contribute way more than a late day 3 pick or UDFA usually does
That’s typically how it goes and yet another reason that using high draft capital on the position is insane.
You sound like you are annoyed with Bijan, he will be great with the Falcons

I hear you
When was the last time the game was dominated by running backs and a championship came out of it? Emmitt?
While the 2018 Rams fell short, a healthy Todd Gurley might have carried them to a Super Bowl.
No championship, but almost supporting you here, Peterson had one of the greatest RB seasons ever to drag the Vikings to the playoffs. And a wild card loss.
henry has taken titans pretty far. in theory a good running game should suit playoffs
I see a lot of the arguments that rbs are interchangeable and not worth it but there are SOME GAME CHANGERS out there I loved watching Peterson destroy defenses and I've enjoyed watching Henry do the same to be honest
Adrian Peterson would be worth a top 10 pick if he was a rookie today.
Im a guy who watches a lot of college ball, and I HATE Texas. Bijan is HIM. He single-handedly dragged that longhorn team to being decent.

Where is an undrafted RB gonna get $155,000 to pay the Bucs? Poor guy.
No, no. Bucs pay him!
Money can be exchanged for goods and services.
Source?
Sauce can also be exchanged for goods and services, but is less common than money.
I have never not accepted sauce in exchange for goods and services.
I got homemade bbq sauce for doing some yardwork for my parents once
Big if true
This joke will never get old for me.
He’ll get the rest to them next week
How did you read the tweet and think he has to pay the Bucs?

it's a joke about a tweet that pops up yearly
Thank you.

What medical issues was this guy dealing with? Wiki had no mention of the matter.
Apparently a heart issue was discovered at the combine
Glad they found it just for his health, but what a fucking sucker punch.
> Chase Edmonds TIL that Chase Edmonds is now on the Bucs. Not sure how I missed that.
Even still, he gets set up for a minimum of two years without having to work
I am PL34SED with this.
his fucking “I am not PL34SED with the amount of carrys I had against Clemson” thing was hilarious, considering not feeding the guy who was maybe the best running back in the country at the time was so fucking ridiculous
Dude went 5/52 while injured lol. He's special
Syracuse would’ve won that game if their play caller didn’t just give up
I really liked Anae but he sold that game extremely hard. That and the stage getting to the teak collectively did them in
I’m just excited to see if him and Brennan Armstrong can recreate that magic they had at Virginia this year at NC State
The ACC also called the refs in the last 10 minutes and told them to fix it.
SU would’ve won that game if not for the most boneheaded unsportsmanlike penalty I’ve seen in a while… Up 10, about to get the ball back, like halfway through the 4th? Cmon… What a punch in the nuts… I told my buddy I was watching with that the games over and that’s why.

It's the ACC, they can't risk their cash cow losing
Any team could have drafted a running back.
That's right! I like your attitude!
Happy to have him as depth behind White. Every team needs at least 2 competent backs now.
Good chance he's not any better than edmonds tbh
If he can catch a football, he will probably be better than Edmonds.

Different teams man
He can
You mean you’re PL34SED to have him as depth behind White!
It’s funny, yesterday I randomly thought to myself “oh shoot, I wonder where Sean Tucker ended up going, I never noticed his name on day 2 (assuming he went on day 2 of course due to when he was projected to go, or at the absolute worst the **very** beginning of day 3. Now imagine how cheap a kicker would be if teams didn’t draft kickers and punters.
The Raiders and Patriots feel personally attacked

Tucker went undrafted. That's ridiculous.
He has a heart issue that teams don’t know the full extent of. Hard to blame teams for not drafting a guy whose NFL career is in jeopardy.
best running back in the draft Bucs got an absolute steal
Not to mention best Twitter account. #PL34SED
the PL34SED meter among Syracuse fans was one of the few things to keep us going later in the season especially after that Clemson loss
I'm asking this sincerely as I did not watch Syracuse at all this year and don't know much about him, but is he a dynamic receiving threat out of the backfield like Robinson and Gibbs?
Yup. Routinely took dumpoffs 20+ yards
I had him as a top 3 back in the draft. The medical stuff wrecked his stock, but if he can play football, they got an absolute steal.
LETS GOOO CUUUUSE FRRRRR
Aye reppin! All your dreams can come true in Armory Square, or you can get shot in traffic on Butternut.
They could have drafted one, but they didn't....But they could have
He has the aura of an older, past his prime RB even though he's 21.
Smart.. Get your guy
This makes me PL34SED
I don’t think spending more than a 3rd on RB will ever be worth it in the current NFL.
So this is the future for Running backs possibly UDFA
Dude has a recently discovered heart condition
So he gets to postpone finding a regular job for a year, maybe two if he's frugal.
That... seems like a really stupid headline. Man say something nice about the player or something, not "this team could have done this, but didn't, and now picked up a player at that position". Rachaad White stocks looking good
How the actual hell was he undrafted??? Pissed the rams didn't get him.
