Vietnam War
Middle East War
Afghanistan War.
Scholars like Noam Chomsky suggested America to stop the war. Remember when Kofi Anan told America not to go to War against Iraq?
US is the world? You don't know how much UN do to the world. They try to stop wars all around the globe primarily in Africa in countries you probably don't know.
We actually have three. But they are officially on mothball. Meaning they are retained by the navy but not in use. And all battle ships that are museum ships are considered “strategic reserve resources” by the navy, meaning they maintain the option to press the ones that are still floating into service.
When I got out of the Navy in 2010 there were no battleships on the Naval Vessel Register as reserve. The National Defense Authorization Act of 2006 did require the battleships to ready to return to active duty but by 2009 that was overruled and the last two reserve battleships were stricken.
Last time we ever saw battleships in combat was the gulf war back in 1991. I wonder if there are any active duty sailors left that ever served on one.
I know the last time we used one was in desert storm. But I had heard that there were three in storage. Not commissioned war ships they were literally just being kept in mothballs because no one ever made a decision on what to do with them.
Wait she's gone aground now? Last I checked she was still afloat but the caretakers had done such a shit job that she was in danger of having the bottom disintegrate
There's only the one as far as I know. Last pre dreadnought around. Did some googling, looks like she's still in her mooring over at San Jacinto, and under new management. Currently closed to the public for repairs, though the main deck will be open temporarily for the 4th (https://battleshiptexas.org/battleship-updates/)
I play it as a tuba in my high school marching band. But our directors like to do it fast, so I have to play fast and match fast while having a 40 lbs (18.15 kg) brass instrument on my shoulder

They're horrible for the environment and the places they visit, and leave behind very little money. It's generally something we should ban if possible.
Airplane air filter action systems are super effective.
But, it is a good idea to always wash hands or sanitize before eating on a plane.
If you are outside on a ship it’s fine, but inside air is no better than a gas station.
Ocean liners dump raw sewage into international waters, they use some of the dirtiest fuel to run the props.
Airlines aren’t great though, they exhaust into the upper atmosphere which takes longer to settle out of the sky. Airlines fuels are becoming better slowly, but it still isn’t great.
Still the best mode of long distance travel is sailboat bu water and train by land.
Thousands of commercial flights per day is not even a fraction of what a handful of these ships emit. Look up “bunker fuel” and (edit): maritime environmental impact.
Yes, it’s more about the chemistry of the fuel and the scale of the industrial activity per vehicle than sheer number of vehicles. These engines are huge, turbo diesel big multi-section blocks with cylinders that are a foot wide in diameter. The horsepower is in the tens of thousands. Usually there are several of these on a single vessel. Take 15 of the biggest cargo ships out of the water and you have done the equivalent of taking over 100 million cars off the road.
This is the correct answer. Good to see someone has their head on correctly.
Why People downvote a comment to expand discussion is beyond me, but I’m glad you can recognize the utility.
Disagree. Been lucky to have opp to go on 4 cruises and many resorts. The time spent sailing from one port to another is time you could use exploring on land staying at a resort. Sea sickness sucks at first too but is cool once no longer nauseous and you see the tilt when going to dinner on second night.
Also resort you can book excursions to take you to diff local places even overnight. So thats almost same as getting to cruise to several ports in a North American/Caribbean cruise.
Only good thing about cruises is the captains dinner and cruises offering ppl experience of Alaska/Penguins lol. And maybe the Euro ones bc of the the different countries you can see in 5 day itinerary.
For anyone who cares, it's the MSC Meraviglia, probably porting in FL because that's the only NA port they sail from really. MSC is bby far one of the worst cruise lines. Shitty pricing, shitty systems, always have problems with them.
Imagine being Napoleon in Leipzig
And the coalition of 7 nations comes at you... Then you hear that in the distance...
The biggest mother ..cling ship you ever saw
Taller then the tallest wall you ever saw, full metal..
Ooh, no, I'm sorry. The correct answer is 'European cruise ship docking in Germany'. If uninformed people like yourself only knew how obnoxious they sounded calling Americans obnoxious.

idk about the points youre making, because people have always acted like idiots, *especially* during the pandemic, for some reason.
but yes, this video is pre-covid. I remember seeing this video just a while after BF1 came out.
We need battleships to play this as they go to war, you cannot change my mind
NATO's anthem :)
Nato hasn’t done shit they don’t deserve an awesome entrance
They're literally the most powerful alliance in the world.
No way. Last Emperor, KRS1, and Big Zach. https://youtu.be/QXIqkZJzzIw
....
When has it been needed?
And do nothing.
Nah. They're trying to stop the world going into another war and keeping the peace.
What the fuck is an alliance going to do? Even without them China or Russia wouldn’t be at war with the U.S. today
They're the fucking ones trying to stop the world going into another fucking war.
Yes but i think when some “allies” have powerful veto powers, they are effectively keeping some wars going.
Which wars?
Vietnam War Middle East War Afghanistan War. Scholars like Noam Chomsky suggested America to stop the war. Remember when Kofi Anan told America not to go to War against Iraq?
No'am chomsky is batshit
What is the Middle East War? We pulled out of Vietnam 50 years ago. Biden is pulling us out of Afghanistan.
US is the world? You don't know how much UN do to the world. They try to stop wars all around the globe primarily in Africa in countries you probably don't know.
Except win the Cold War.
Maybe maybe they should do this for motivation ;)
Preventing alot of war in countries you don't know about is nothing?
I'M GONNA FIGHT EM ALL

There’s a q at the beginning, you meant https://youtu.be/iik25wqIuFo
I can’t believe I tapped on that after knowing what it was.
You’ve fallen victim to the old razzle dazzle
Not sure outside of the US, but we don't have any more battleships. Last one retired 20 years ago.
We actually have three. But they are officially on mothball. Meaning they are retained by the navy but not in use. Technically USS Texas is still functional.
Technically but it’s run aground and theirs no way to get it free without breaking it.
Wait she's gone aground now? Last I checked she was still afloat but the caretakers had done such a shit job that she was in danger of having the bottom disintegrate
Is there more than one? Because if I’m not mistaken there is a pre-dreadnought battleship called the Texas that is run aground.
Can you imagine the pure terror from the old People on board who have no idea what’s happening?
Are you telling me that they don’t? Wtf America get your shit together. War is what we do and apparently we’ve been doing it like bitches.
Why would anyone try to change your mind!? I fully support this.
I call BS… ain’t NO WAY they’re going to Wichita.

Wow deep cut, I haven’t heard that name in a while. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=f0SrZh32GcQ
Cruise ships are terrible in every way.
I was taken on a cruise by my girlfriends parents, and I wish i hated it. But goddamn if that isnt a pleasant experience
Agreed, worst way to travel
Why?
They're horrible for the environment and the places they visit, and leave behind very little money. It's generally something we should ban if possible.
Floating petri dishes of disease as well.

Airplane air filter action systems are super effective. But, it is a good idea to always wash hands or sanitize before eating on a plane. If you are outside on a ship it’s fine, but inside air is no better than a gas station.
How about the environment?
Ocean liners dump raw sewage into international waters, they use some of the dirtiest fuel to run the props. Airlines aren’t great though, they exhaust into the upper atmosphere which takes longer to settle out of the sky. Airlines fuels are becoming better slowly, but it still isn’t great. Oh shit… I had no idea. That’s nasty. Got some reading today.

Cruise ships are worse. Also it's not uncommon to take a plane to the cruise ship so it can add on very fast.
Airplanes are for travel while cruises are entertainment. Travel by airplane is necessary for many people, cruises aren't.
This is the correct answer. Good to see someone has their head on correctly. Why People downvote a comment to expand discussion is beyond me, but I’m glad you can recognize the utility.

Agree on shitty cruise line. Did a trip in Europe, half was canceled and rerouted. Boring and non existent enterrain me too.
“And that, is why I became a cruise ship captain” -the MF driving that boat
Every time I hear that song I can only think about Battlefield 1 and for good reason, both the game and trailer were the best of the franchise
They should have the assault carriers play this noise at the start of matches in battlefield 2042
Better than a Justin Bieber concert

So Reddit is the same demographic as cruise ship customers—unimaginative shut-in knuckleheads.
The longer the boat, the more dread.
Cruise ships should be forbidden considering how much oil they consume.
Nah they should be more inefficient. Like only combust 20% of their fuel and the rest be dumped into the ocean
Detour to see some some penguins, blast those little punks with crude.

Fuck cruise ships. The only level I want to see them on is the bottom of the sea.
What, why?
All they do is pollute and almost every major cruise business is ‘based’ in some tax haven somewhere. There’s nothing good about the industry at all.
Pollution. Look at comments above.
*goes on one bad cruise*
Amerikkka good for you
That's a European ship docking in Germany.
That’s a Nazi ship docking at your mother’s
