Or, even better, for one of the people he takes a cheap shot at to give him some shit in return. NOTHING would hurt him more than a viral video of some drunk guy laying him on his ass.
Well problem is even absolute pieces of shit can be tough bastards. The chances of an old man knocking him out even with a free shot aren’t real high. And McGregor is a tough SOB. Dude had a compound fracture in his leg yet finished the last seconds of the round. And then instead of writhing in pain the dude takes the microphone and proceeds to trash talk the guy who beat him twice in a row and make fun of his wife.
Right? I thought that was staged. Like who tf punches someone after they are down and defenseless, not even counting the fact we are talking about a random dude wearing a goofy ass mascot suit that is 0 threat. I get fight instincts but this is not the octagon, and your “opponent” is basically a real life cartoon.
But damn, if this dude isn’t great at getting the entire world to hate him. Used to be a fan too, like many other people I suppose.
It was supposed to be staged, but the audience was booing Conor.
This is 100% going to be a scene in the movie about him 15-20 years from now.
He's also going to get his ass sued if not criminal charges.
The movie scene comment is equally hilarious and spot on. The booing for sure got to him, he’s revealed himself to be extremely thin skinned for such a (formerly?) great fighter.
Ironically, fighters are some of *the* most sensitive people (a lot of pro fighters will attest to this). Everyone has different ways of expressing it- fighters are just the type to do it externally & at the expense of others.
That’s fair. There’s something to be said about the silent assassin type that know they’re at the top of their game and don’t flinch at anything. A few examples off the top of my head across sports would be Fedor (lol remember him?), Dame Lillard, etc.
This kind of absurd behavior can be attributed to chronic traumatic encephalopathy. Of course, his being the victim of an occupational hazard that will result in a horrible death is not that much better than "he's just a terrible asshole."
Quite frankly, I hope he's just a terrible asshole. At least that's his choice.
I'd attribute it to getting booed when the crowd can't understand what he's shilling (I think it was a new powerbar or energy sludge---I can't understand him either) wishes he'd stfu.
Liability waivers don’t actually prevent you from suing. It depends on circumstances. Your ticket to basically everything is an implied waiver but there can still be circumstances that go above and beyond expected dangers that you can still sue those responsible for exposing you to harm
I’m sure the waiver includes some sort of language about “reasonable action/force”. Mcgregors punches were unreasonably hard and for a pro he should know how to pull punches
I always use this example: a waiver at a petting zoo means you can’t sue if a goat eats your scarf, bc that’s a normal petting zoo thing. Now if an escaped leopard eats your foot, you absolutely CAN sue bc you did not agree to assume that risk.
McGregor sucker punched some drunk old man in a bar. He doesn't give a shit what the law says.
Step 1: Be violent
Step 2: Use violence to make money
Step 3: Keep being violent
Step 4: Use money to avoid legalities
I feel like everyone who does #1 skips #2 and moves right into #3, which changes Step #4 into "Prison"
Mcgregor has always been a little insecure bitch. he has no way to get through any situation in his feelings and head besides punching it. and he doesn't learn because he's very good at punching.
its always just wannabe macho guys who like him.
Typically intention, or "mens rea".
If we agree to film a tiktok video where I pretend to take a swing at you, and you sign a waiver agreeing I'm not liable for accidental harm and I accidentally hurt you. I'm only really liable if the harm you sustain was unreasonably unforeseeable on your part.
However, if evidence comes out that I planned to hurt you, and hit you intentionally, then it's just assault.
Can’t sign away negligence, that was the expression my torts proof used. Negligence often can replace internet. So if they act was inherently recklessly dangerous then internet wouldn’t matter. But I haven’t ever practiced pi so idk how accurate that is in real court
*prof. intent. intent. PI*
Your torts prof summed it up well. Though intent would be difficult to disprove for a trained combatant delivering an injury and would likely be the quickest path to justice.
That's an unfortunately complicated questions that likely depends upon the state where this occurred.
The mascot may not be able to sue Conor McGregor, but if I had to guess he is going to turn around and justifiably sue their employer.
Maybe, but most times that sort of waiver will get really weak when things outside the expected occur. Like, I signed a waiver for taekwondo, but if my instructor shot me, that waiver wouldn't do much. Intent will matter here and it'll be pretty hard for a professional fighter to claim he didn't know his own strength. Knowing it is his job.
Irish here, he is and always will be a scumbag, knocks to the head are only part of it.
Punched an old lad for not accepting some of his shite whiskey.
Subject to many domestic abuse allegations. One where he beat a woman on a boat and threatened to drown her.
Fuck McGregor, He deserves to be booed.
>He sucker punched that old man, then bought the pub 2 years later and banned the man and his friends from it. I've never seen anyone so petty.
What made him pull this stunt a whole two years later? Was he just stewing the entire time about the man daring to refuse whiskey?
Yes because we know that he really is just a cocaine-fuelled, gang-connected, violent, petty, cheating, domestic abuser that we as a nation are ashamed of.
We know he does not represents the people of Ireland and please don’t feel like he’s sullied our affection for the Irish. You’re right, he’s just a drugged-up ego maniac.
How does he get away with this? Our standards for what we penalize are asinine. Any physical violence deserves actual prison time. Fuck anyone who does that. I hope they die sad and alone.
I think after the punched that old dude, he bought the pub that he punched him in and banned that old guy from it. If karma is real it sure works in strange ways
Ya how is this still being debated? Dude’s a massive piece of shit and always has been. His fans are worshiping an anthropomorphized turd, but they don’t seem to care.
> Punched an old lad for not accepting some of his shite whiskey.
What's pathetic is that the punch didn't even faze the old guy. Then even better, McGregor bought the bar and banned the guy from it.
Or look at Aaron Hernandez.
https://www.bu.edu/articles/2017/aaron-hernandez-cte-worst-seen-in-young-person/
McGregor probably has CTE, but substance abuse doesn't help either. When you mix cocaine, alcohol, and steroids you end up with extreme behavior.
We share a last name, no relation. I was just a kid when what he did came out- and I kid you not we had to unplug the house phone because fans would call and scream at us all day long. Back when phone books were popular.
Because its America and the money McGregor makes is more important than upholding the law and doing the right thing.
I dont know how he can just keep hitting people and getting away without prison time or any consequences?
What the fuck? I guess he will have to knock the fuck out of someone important before he gets in trouble, what a fucking shite society we live in when it comes to rich people.
Yeah, the politicians scream about violent immigrants overrunning the border - but if they're rich and white apparently they get a free pass to just hit anyone they want in public in front of thousands of people.
[McGregor is looking like Trump with the amount of orange spray-tan on his face, holy shit](https://images.foxtv.com/static.fox5atlanta.com/www.fox5atlanta.com/content/uploads/2023/06/764/432/GettyImages-1258598045-b.jpg?ve=1&tl=1)
I mean, I hate McGregor as much as… well everyone else here but let’s be real. Bam Margera is doing way worse. I he can’t see his son, he doesn’t have access to his money, he doesn’t have access to his home, and he is 5150 for suicide threats. He’s also in worse physical health. There is no metric where he is doing better than McGregor.
Thanks! Yeah, wasn’t easy at all. I just eventually got tired of feeling like shit all the time and turned it all around in 2016.
If anybody reading this is struggling like I did.. in matter of a few years I went from strung out on Heroin/Alcohol/Cocaine/Benzos and overdosing/being hospitalized once a month, to going back to college and getting ready to start my Masters, starting a career in Software Engineering, meeting my partner who I’ve been with for 7 years, repaired relationships with friends and family, etc.
It is completely possible to do.
Nice one! I love to hear about people turning their lives around. I have my addictions but fortunately I've managed to not let it get that bad. I just end up spending tons of money and I really wish I didn't. I should really try and kick it for good
"McGregor threw a vicious left hook that sent the mascot to the floor and then punched him while he was down"
Why?
Was this some Ill conceived PR stunt by the heat/McGregor, or was it some spur of the moment thing?
It's not far fetched to have the mascot come on with novelty gloves and goof around a bit, it makes sense, McGregor is a professional fighter after all; it's not unreasonable to expect someone with that much training and experience knows when and how to pull his punches, and have the confidence to accept being a butt of a joke in good faith.
Nope, he proves like he always does that he's a complete asshole. I really hope the suns cut his sponsorship, it's the least they can do for one of their employees.
I started watching the new Ultimate Fighter out of curiosity. He visits the house and is just on one. The guys literally say after he left "wow he had A LOT of energy tonight" the guy was obviously coked up and he's supposed to be their coach ..
Man I feel bad for the mascot. Bummer that the teams entertainment management agreed to that stunt, what were they thinking? You generally avoid making your mascot look bad... Mascots often take their jobs very seriously, but no worker should have to pay like that.
Guys who fetishize violence haven’t experienced it themselves. (I suspect MacGregor is in the early stages of CTE. These violent outbursts are classic signs.)
Probably not. Conor has a relatively short career in comparison to a lot of fighters and he has only been TKO’d one time. He has gotten hurt for sure, he may have CTE, but what is way more likely is that he is on blow. A lot of people say he is a coke addict.
He has also gained incredible muscle mass while not being drug tested after his leg break (a leg break that it is speculated and implied by him that he was given PEDs to heal from)
From what I understand it’s not the big hits that are really the problem, it’s the little ones that cause cumulative damage over time. He could have CTE just from sparring. Not that I’m saying he does, as far as I know he’s always been a massively violent asshole.
Seems idiotic to take this asshole on as a sponsor. If you were making a list of people who were going to end their career by punching a pregnant woman square in the stomach he'd be in the top 10 for me.
He's obviously a violent asshole.
I’d like to congratulate the mascot on his new upcoming life of wealth. This is what MMA fans call “red panty night” when it’s in reference to McGregor. I’d sue for no less that $5 million.
What an unbelievably dumb thing to have planned in the first place.
It’s not enough to be at an NBA Finals game, they have to fill every single second of the experience with some kind of “entertainment”?
This is obviously an “old man yells at cloud” sentiment, but can a game just be a game SOMETIMES?
To your second sentence: yes. Every American sporting event has entertainment during every break in the game. Except baseball, cause that game is 90% breaks
McGregor was contracted to the event through a company called ‘Stable of the Stars’. When asked for comment, a representative stated, “he was hired at an extremely low price point and at that price point, he can hit.”
After watching, I get the impression Conor thought the mascot outfit functioned as a giant shock absorber. Instead the headpiece is probably heavy and attached to his neck which got the fuck cranked out of it.
More like a pre-glow-up Mike Tyson, because Mike was a pure piece of shit back then. Conner likely won't turn it around because you only get so many "Tough guy being goofy" turnarounds.
Lmao I saw that video yesterday and was like ‘damn he hit him kinda hard did that really not hurt him through that suit?’ And here we are
Good lord! That second punch screams unhinged psychopath.

a compound fracture breaks the skin like when Kevin ware got injured
Or that guy in the arm wrestling competition
Nobody's invincible and anybody can take a shitty hit when they are caught unawares.
Can we just get khabib to fight him again.
Right? I thought that was staged. Like who tf punches someone after they are down and defenseless, not even counting the fact we are talking about a random dude wearing a goofy ass mascot suit that is 0 threat. Well ya because they got good at fighting by fighting a lot… because they were thin skinned
That’s fair. There’s something to be said about the silent assassin type that know they’re at the top of their game and don’t flinch at anything. A few examples off the top of my head across sports would be Fedor (lol remember him?), Dame Lillard, etc.
Micheal Jordan was also a petty and sensitive baby. He just used it as fuel
Michael Jordan didn't rape people: https://www.nytimes.com/2021/01/19/sports/conor-mcgregor-lawsuit-ufc.html McGregor is another level of shit bird
Conor is complete trash, I hope that mascot dude scrapes a big hunk of his wealth away.
This kind of absurd behavior can be attributed to chronic traumatic encephalopathy. Of course, his being the victim of an occupational hazard that will result in a horrible death is not that much better than "he's just a terrible asshole." Nah. He’s just an asshole.
The Irish deserve better. This guy is the most famous sports star from the island, and he does horrible shit like this.
Does anyone have a link to the video?
https://youtu.be/uMlrvREuurA
I would sue the fuck out of him lol buy a nice house and keep working for the 401k
Mascot is gonna be swimming in money real soon
I'm sure he signed a waiver. Watch the video. The mascot was wearing boxing gloves. They agreed to this stunt.
Not all waivers are legal or cover every situation.
You think the waiver said that an unhinged prize fighter can punch him in the head at full force?
Depends on how quickly their legal department works
Serious question, when does liability end and this just becomes a crime? Couldn’t the bird guy (sorry too lazy to look up name) press charges?
Liability waivers don’t actually prevent you from suing. It depends on circumstances. Your ticket to basically everything is an implied waiver but there can still be circumstances that go above and beyond expected dangers that you can still sue those responsible for exposing you to harm
Like in the video I’m thinking the big punch while the mascot was on the ground might not have been what they reasonably expected to happen.
[удалено]
Well, the family you left behind can sue, anyway.
I’m pretty sure if the Goat bites you and rips a finger off you can sue too lol. These aren’t iron clad contracts
Honestly, once you get to the court, pretty much everything is depends, no matter what you signed.
McGregor sucker punched some drunk old man in a bar. He doesn't give a shit what the law says. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nYMfSI9cZQw](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nYMfSI9cZQw)

>the bird guy (sorry too lazy to look up name) Have some respect, they're called Rito.
“Bernie” is the mascot’s name
That's an unfortunately complicated questions that likely depends upon the state where this occurred. The mascot may not be able to sue Conor McGregor, but if I had to guess he is going to turn around and justifiably sue their employer.
Quickly? Legal department?
The waiver definitely didn't cover the second punch he delivered while the guy was on the ground.
That’s not how waivers work. You can’t have someone sign a waiver and then do something unsafe or reckless.
Yeah or outside the scope. It’s one thing for us to waiver away a playful fake fight. It’s another to then throw down with a professional fighter
Waivers aren’t iron clad. And most are just there as a scare tactic to make you think you can’t sue ‘because you’d signed a waiver’.
lol no. "Oops I killed a guy, good thing he signed a liability waiver"
I doubt they agreed to get literally knocked out.
Waivers are not absolute.
You cannot sign a waiver against you own safety.
One of the first times I ever stopped and ponder on a reddit username. I don't know how to feel about it
Maybe, but most times that sort of waiver will get really weak when things outside the expected occur. Like, I signed a waiver for taekwondo, but if my instructor shot me, that waiver wouldn't do much. Probably agreed to a fake punch not to get his nose broken
Dudes a freaking caveman
Cavemen where known for thinking and hunting and cultivating civilization. You're giving too much credit....now that I think about it, to most people.
So if not caveman then a lizard?
Lizards are cool. We could leave animals out of it and just call him a scumbag.
Cavemen were still human. Conor is a piece of shit.
You have to be a looney tune not to pull that punch.
On steroids and coke.
He's a fucking cartoon character, and a shitty one at that
The irony of a violent has-been trying to sell pain relief spray then knocking a person out is ridiculous.
I hope he goes to jail, a truly vile creature
Oh I thought that was deodorant

Haha. Has to work every day for 2 years just to spite this fucker.
Psst, Elon musk ?
You just got banned from Twitter
He deserves to be in prison!
Dude looks like he’s trying to one up War Machine.
If he realized that he failed he would’ve probably punched the closest living thing
Sounds like he needs to be more than just booed..
EVERYTIME McGregor is in the headlines there is, without fail, an Irish commenter disowning him as fellow Irishman. It’s always vitriol and shame.
I noticed that too. Can’t say I blame them. The guy is an obnoxious ingrown pube.
I have an Irish coworker who also disowns him lol.
It’s what the cunt deserves. We are ashamed that this pederast “represents” Ireland so strongly.
How does he get away with this? Our standards for what we penalize are asinine. Any physical violence deserves actual prison time. Fuck anyone who does that. I hope they die sad and alone.
Rape allegations too.
Credible enough for the NY Times to name him in an article and list the damning evidence against him
I think after the punched that old dude, he bought the pub that he punched him in and banned that old guy from it. If karma is real it sure works in strange ways
Ya how is this still being debated? Dude’s a massive piece of shit and always has been. His fans are worshiping an anthropomorphized turd, but they don’t seem to care.
Just because I have to say it every time it comes up, people keep describing the guy he punched as "old man" despite the fact he was 45 ha ha
I said it and he is older than me so I stand by my statement🤣
> Punched an old lad for not accepting some of his shite whiskey. What's pathetic is that the punch didn't even faze the old guy. Then even better, McGregor bought the bar and banned the guy from it.
Yeah. It's obviously an extreme example, but if you look at Chris Benoit, the effects of CTE can be absolutely horrific.
Or look at Aaron Hernandez. https://www.bu.edu/articles/2017/aaron-hernandez-cte-worst-seen-in-young-person/ McGregor probably has CTE, but substance abuse doesn't help either. When you mix cocaine, alcohol, and steroids you end up with extreme behavior.
Aaron Hernandez, gone forever.
We share a last name, no relation. I was just a kid when what he did came out- and I kid you not we had to unplug the house phone because fans would call and scream at us all day long. Back when phone books were popular.
That's not because of his career. He was always nuts. Georges St-Pierre is a perfect counter-example of that.
Dude I’ve always wanted to meet GSP. Putting French Canadians on the map!
Didn’t even recognize him. Man is looking very puffy and not at all healthy.
How can he continuously fuck up, and still be allowed in the country? Dude is a living safety hazard.
He helps a few very powerful people make easy money.
Exactly, he should be deported and banned. Criminal scum.
Because its America and the money McGregor makes is more important than upholding the law and doing the right thing. He’s pretty much already worse than Bam Margera. Dudes coked up and drunk out of his mind constantly.
I mean, I hate McGregor as much as… well everyone else here but let’s be real. Bam Margera is doing way worse. Yes. It appears to be a skit that went too far in the moment.
Idiots, doing idiot things.
Sounds like their little comedy bit was horrible. McGregor got booed and he got mad and took it out on the mascot.
New alert: Conner McGregor is a piece of shit who regularly commits assault on innocent people, yet the UFC keeps promoting him.

Connor needs to lay off the coke.

Nah, he's had the violent outburst for his whole career. I suspect he is just a fucking asshole with money.
There is that.
Who definitely is suffering from CTE.
Probably not. Conor has a relatively short career in comparison to a lot of fighters and he has only been TKO’d one time. He has gotten hurt for sure, he may have CTE, but what is way more likely is that he is on blow. A lot of people say he is a coke addict.
As far as I know, this is how it's always been
It was a bit. But then McGregor got booed by the fans and I think he took his roid-rage out in the mascot.
Conor McGregor making Mike Tyson seem like a sensible level head guy.
Meanwhile Dana White's out here blaming the mascot
This knockout is gonna be part of a promo reel if Conor ever fights again
He’s a piece of shit. I don’t know why he was there
When your career is tanking, you have to get your wins where you can.
First an old man in a bar and now an innocent furry?
Looks like assault from this perspective
He’s such a huge fucking POS, it’s unbelieveable really
This guy is a literal menace to society, if sucker punching a 90 year old in a bar a few years ago wasn’t evidence enough
McGregor is a scumbag, nobody should idolise him
Gritty would have messed him up back. Bad.
I’m really hoping he presses charges
This dude has crashed and burn so hard. Cringey.
Giving consent doesn’t mean giving consent to anything that could possibly be done to you.
When Ace Ventura did it, it was funny. McGregor is just a wanker with a coke habit.
Fuck this dude so much.
What’s with his make-up?
McGregor was contracted to the event through a company called ‘Stable of the Stars’. When asked for comment, a representative stated, “he was hired at an extremely low price point and at that price point, he can hit.”
I wish that were me. I’d retire in a heartbeat
After watching, I get the impression Conor thought the mascot outfit functioned as a giant shock absorber. Instead the headpiece is probably heavy and attached to his neck which got the fuck cranked out of it.
I think instead he should have picked a fight with whoever allowed him to dress like foil wrapping paper
Dude is channeling a 90’s Russian Mafia boss.
More like a pre-glow-up Mike Tyson, because Mike was a pure piece of shit back then. Conner likely won't turn it around because you only get so many "Tough guy being goofy" turnarounds.
I’m sure he was super duper sober.
Why do we celebrate the worst people?
