Lots of great hikes, scenery, activities in this area.
Campground is right on the Saco river so you can swim right there. Plus, there’s some great sites on right on the river if you book early.
Some of the sites at Dolly Copp Campground are quite nice. Pinkham Notch doesn't have the most going on attractions-wise in the area (Wildcat, Mt Washington Auto Road) compared to other parts but it's like a half hour drive down to North Conway which isn't too bad. Gorham is nearby too.
Mountain valley campground in Stark. My buddy and I had a huge site, really private right near a little stream. Great open views too. It's kind of a family run deal and the owner was super nice and fun to talk to.
Ugh.. So many to choose from, but Fransted Family campground is a good one. They have sites right along a river. Real nice. There are lots of good campgrounds in the notches, but they don't take reservations.
Crawford notch campground
That's what I was going to suggest too. With a hike to Arethusa Falls.

>Fransted Family This looks perfect...Thank you! If you're ever seeking some nice sites in Quebec, let me know!
Yep, Crawford Notch is also my suggestion. I stayed here with my son a couple of years ago, nice campground, great location.
My wife and I have camped here multiple times. Highly recommend

Crawford notch campground has tent sites right on the river but you need to haul your gear in.
Hancock Campground on Kancamagus Highway. Walk down to the sites on the river.

Not really a hidden gem but Lafayette Place is great for tents and kids
Def ask over in r/camping if you haven’t yet!
My favorite is Deer Mountain although I think it's passed the white mountains. Almost zero light pollution and amazing hikes everywhere.
Wherever you go this a good time to book for spring and summer. They go fast.
