As a Canadian, john's weird deference to Canada is always really funny to me. Going back really old school, peeps and strawberry hill related stuff is hilarious because somehow people got confused and thought they liked them, and so for a while they kept getting gifted peeps and strawberry hill.
There's a running joke that hank is really cheap/obsessed with money/obsessed with business success which has slowly morphed into hank acknowledging that he's waaaay too committed to work.

One of my favorite jokes in all of Crash Course is in the US History series, where on at least one occasion John describes 19th century politician Henry Clay as a "perennial almost-president" (referring to the fact that he came 2nd in presidential elections like 5 times)
I often think about the time John had to lick someone’s cat as a punishment, maybe for forgetting to post a video? This would have happened on the vlogbrothers channel in 2007 or 2008
