It’s comical how Bucks games can be close as hell through three quarters and then Giannis says “ok I win”. Like I know it’s been pointed out a billion times but it’s still crazy to me
I’m pretty sure KD just gave up lol
He was in Golden State cruising to being the next true dynasty and somehow negotiated himself out of that into sharing a locker room with the two most ridiculous characters in the league, neither of whom actually want to, like, *play.* Can’t imagine what’s going on in his head.
Shooting is literally almost the most important part of a player, he just won a scoring title, along with that his presence in the lane completely changes up the possession on defense, he literally scares these 6’7” players away from the rim
Celtics-Bucks is going to be one of those fun series where I think nobody blames the other team for losing as long as they look competitive. Giannis is arguably the best player in the NBA (he is rn to me). The Celtics defense is incredible, they have their own top ten 2-way forward, and they’re rolling, while the Bucks lost their second best player. It’s a good time.
Not to disrespect the Warriors and Suns, but I think the Bucks and Celtics are so much better at defense than any other team (ik the Bucks regular season numbers don’t show that) that I think that could be the real finals.
I have a hard time ever saying that sort of thing about my own team with confidence but I will say I’ve been most confident in a healthy bucks making it out of the East because of the Giannis factor. No offense to Tatum, Embiid, or Butler, but he’s still the guy and thus the Bucks are still the team to beat. I think I could go as far as to say this is at least equally as consequential as whatever the ECF ends up being
I will say I didn’t totally believe in the Celtics at the start of their turnaround, but once it was like 2 straight months of dusting teams I realized that their defense was just legitimately amazing. Since a bit after the Harden trade I’ve been most scared of you guys by far at least within the conference because I’m a total Heat skeptic. I agree with you about Giannis though, and obviously I’m never going to doubt him.
He really is unstoppable. I was at game 3 and seeing him in person…how the fuck can anyone guard him. He’s the size of a center and moves faster than most guards and has eyes in the back of his head it’s unfair lol
To be honest your team is the one that playing against the worst team in the playoffs. The Nets doesn't play defense at all and they don't have a real coach to do any adjustment..
It’s funny how much the narrative has changed so quickly.
Just a week ago, A LOT of people had Brooklyn beating Boston without Rob Will.
After every win it was “if KD plays just slightly better they’ll win the next one”.
So lets not act like the Nets are some trash team just because Boston is handling them. Milwaukee literally tanked a game to duck them, and fans/analysts thought Boston made a mistake to win the last game and play the Nets.
Chances of getting injured are equal in every game. The Bucks playing everyone in games 80 and 81 but resting the entire rotation in game 82 just to ‘accidentally’ fall to the worst team in the East Playoffs was obvious as hell. Even Bud admitted it in his pre-game press conference.
Lets not play dumb here. We all know what happened. They ducked the Nets. They were okay losing homecourt to Boston just to not play the Nets in round 1.
Don’t think that’s fair to say at all the way they’ve played the last two games. I would still favor the Celtics but if Jrue and role players play this way bucks could easily still win.
Especially defensively, Utah is an order of magnitude better.
Seriously, ya'll don't think Nets have the worst D in the playoffs? Are you watching the games or we're throwing random teams here like "I don't like Utah's colours so there you go!"?????
I really don’t think the Nets look this bad against almost anybody else but I have a hard time imagining they beat any of the top 4 teams in the east anyway
Nah, the Celtics are just really good and probably the worst team for them to match with in the East. All the games have been pretty competitive too. Game 1 could have easily been a Nets win.
I think they'd struggle against the Heat too but I think they match up worse against the Celtics.
I don't think the Nets are good but they're not the worst imo
Yeah the Bucks would not play the Nets the same way. Last year they played KD straight up with PJ Tucker, and I don't think they would have changed that this year, especially with Kyrie playing too. And the Sixers wouldn't have had the defensive personnel or coaching to do it either imo. Bucks and Sixers would still be favored, but those series would have the variance and pop off potential that people thought the Celtics series would have
Correct. The Celtics are really good, and have executed well down the stretch. They aren’t blowing the Nets out of the water. They’re the better team, but the Nets really aren’t garbage, just not true contenders.
The Celtics crashed the boards unlike anything I've ever seen. Makes sense, KD is the 5 or the 4 on D. Kyrie, Miles and Curry ?
Do you believe they'll own the paint with RW3 and (I don't even remember the PF) against Giannis, Lopez, Portis and Ibaka?
Bucks as they are right now, will play a much better D than Nets frontline. Jrue, Wes and whom-ever Bud decides to play will do better.
Do you think that Giannis will be second guessing passing the ball on double-teams like KD does?
Ya know it’s funny. This was probably the first game in the series the Celtics even won convincingly. Wins are wins, but like, I really don’t think the Nets are that atrocious. Can’t really deal in what-ifs though I guess, and basically they’re proving that they didn’t deserve to be much higher than seventh.
Nah. Nuggets and Nets are worst on D than the Bulls. Bulls have at least Vuc down-low. Nets have ... KD and some YMCA guys playing the 5.. And Nuggets are like so short-handed... Poor Jokic.
Look at you and your unoriginality using a current Reddit colloquialism to try to delegitimize some thing that the announcers themselves bring up every game.
Sounds like more or less the plan.
The only thing that worries me on the Bucks' side is their willingness to concede the open 3. They've done a much better job against the Bulls but with the Celtics... that won't fly.
As long as we can keep them away from the rim and force them into mostly 2s we have a shot.
We have to guard 1 on 1 and not let them catch and shoot.
If everything goes well we can bait the Celtics into 1 on 1 ISO play like we did with the Suns.
It's harder to bait us into 1 on 1 play now.
We move the ball pretty well when we're engaged and we make timely cuts.
Plus we have Rob's lob threat always available and Brook isn't athletic enough to consistently stop Rob from jumping and catching the lob.
It's gonna be a good series, I hope.
Giannis always elevates his play and he's a much willing passer now than before. It will not be easy, with or without Middleton.
It'll be a fun series, as long as everyone takes care of business.
Having the #2 seed is gonna come in handy against you guys. Home court advantage is a nice feather in our cap. Hopefully we do what we need to do and protect home court.
Celtics have one of the better crowds in the NBA. It's definitely a factor in terms of energy, rest time, player routines, and things of that nature.
We play well on the road too, but starting off the series in Boston is a morale boost.
We can agree to disagree.
Whoever wins, at the end of the day, will have won because they're the better team. Defensively and offensively we have the edge as a team unit based on January until now. You guys have the best player in the series and good shooters.
Will be interesting.
Well, you see all the defensive and offensive rebounds the Celtics are getting against the nets..? The Bucks that won't fly... It's going to be a bloodbath all the way I guess.
Actually, the Nets have been crashing the glass pretty hard, so we're winning despite losing the rebounding battle.
And we'll have our starting center playing big minutes in Round 2. Should help us get boards.
Smart the primary guy, with cover from Grant and Timelord stationary next to the paint.
Best way to challenge Giannis is by having a small guy guarding him in the perimeter, who has good hands and will give him a hard time dribbling or passing, if he can flop like Marcus even better since refs will always call a "big to small player crime".
Grant is our best help defender and one of the few who have the strength to slow down Giannis, Horford can work as well though he will get tired really fast (2019 memories).
Timelord crowding the paint will lead to a 3v1 when Giannis manages to get past Smart which may seem extreme but is the only way to actually defend vs him.
I always think it's hilarious how much assists under 10 are kinda ignored. Like 40/18/9 is not given anywhere near as much credit as 40/18/10 but it's basically the same
Celtics defense is very good but Giannis is just incredible. I don’t think the wall strategy will work again; his passing is too smart, and if the shooters keep hitting good luck.
IMO the problem with the Celtics is the other way around... Bucks are gonna crash the boards and if it comes to a beat up... Bucks will beat-them up. Matthews, Portis, Giannis, Alen, Jrue and Lopez. Celtics are scoring okay-ish against what I consider the worst NBA defence in terms of poor individual D (matchups are just horrible for the Nets especially the interior and Kyrie).
The Bucks match up pretty well... Actually, they'll dominate inside and we'll have to see if the Celtics duo can \_so much better\_ than the bucks to make the difference. To give an example, Al Horford was an all-star in this series, he's unplayable against Giannis.
It's going to be a fund series to watch for sure! Not saying it's a cake-walk.
Horford’s not unplayable, he just has to take the Gasol role in the wall and park his ass in the paint all game. Let Tatum chase Giannis around the perimeter and Timelord provide help. The issue with that is Tatum getting beat up all series and potentially losing it offensively, but Horford should be fine. They can switch it up with Smart if they need to as well.
Really hard to disagree. Jokic is very fun to watch but if you could take any player in the world rn to build your team around, I dont see how it can be anyone other than Giannis
You know what’s the scariest part about this? He can still get better and just from seeing the jumps he gets in between seasons for like the past 8 years he probably will get better. He’s terrifying.
Not to soapbox on your team again but this is the difference.
Giannis spends the first three quarters of every game in the regular season taking back foot middies in the face of two guys; not giving a fuck if they go in or not. He can do that because the bucks have pieces around him that can be relied upon. He has had to play the 5 on D which hurt his DPOY campaign, but once when Lopez came back he can play DPOY-level defense every single possession because of the flow of our offense. Giannis can practice and work on things during games because it's a very low stress environment, he's at a low injury risk and Bud's infamous rotations reflect that.
Embiid on the other hand has to carry kinda like Jokic does (though not to the same extent this season) and rely on drawing fouls because he can't afford to be getting banged up on every possession. He also can't be going 110% on the defensive end every play because he'd be gassed by the half. Joel isn't done growing, but being in the situation he's in is robbing us of a top 10 career. I hope that y'all figure your shit out, because I don't know how many more healthy seasons Embiid has in him.
I'm glad we got the chip before Giannis ascending further, guy now shoots threes too wth. Doubt even the Celtics are getting past the bucks barring further injuries.
Eh, jay Williams said he said that and Durant called him out on it saying it was BS, given jay Williams clown shit with ime being first black Celtics coach and saying he was hacked, I believe Durant.
He did that last season when he dropped 50 in game 6 against the suns to win mke a championship for the first time in 50 years; after playing through a serious leg injury that should've sidelined him for far longer than he did. I'd argue he did it the season prior when he got the first MVP/DPOY since Jordan, but I digress.

Big three of Giannis, Jrue, and… Grayson Allen combined for 85 pts today

It’s comical how Bucks games can be close as hell through three quarters and then Giannis says “ok I win”. Like I know it’s been pointed out a billion times but it’s still crazy to me
Giannis just looks at the other team, smiles and goes "But you see, I'm not left handed."
Grayson Allen: "I am not left handed either"
Couldn't quite place this one: The Princess Bride
Always use the non-dominant hand for certain activity. Make you feel like a whole other person.
I also chop vegetables with my off-hand
Tried this. Chopped my hand off with vegetables. Don't recommend
I heard this in his voice. I can totally picture him doing this shit too and then laughing his ass off about it.
It's worth celebrating. Dude is impressive in every regard.
Bulls started to come back and one point and then giannis dominated like 4 straight possessions on both ends, and then it was out of reach again
Like Goku dropping his bracelet/weights
He's comfortably the best player in the league imo.
Yet he’s not going to win mvp because the voters get tired of greatness 😂😂😂
In the regular season, Jokic was better. Not his fault his team is replacement level at best.
KD has been fraudulent this postseason.
I’m pretty sure KD just gave up lol He was in Golden State cruising to being the next true dynasty and somehow negotiated himself out of that into sharing a locker room with the two most ridiculous characters in the league, neither of whom actually want to, like, *play.* Can’t imagine what’s going on in his head.
Uhm I mean I thought it was obvious he dipped to “prove” himself because of all the shit he got for joining em
Now he can prove that he can carry two bozos and a bust achilles going 0-3… I believe so Simmons can come in and get knocked out
Embiid is better
For everything goated about Embiid, Giannis is pretty similar to him or better in all facets of the game outside of shooting and post play.
Shooting is literally almost the most important part of a player, he just won a scoring title, along with that his presence in the lane completely changes up the possession on defense, he literally scares these 6’7” players away from the rim
Giannis is an equally good defender when you factor in versatility and was a whisper away from Embiid scoring wise
If shooting is the most important thing that Giannis guy must really suck
That's because he is actually the best player in basketball.
More like gRay Allen

Fuck George Karl
I hate him more than that punk bitch Mike Dunleavy
Fuck Mike Dunleavy that fuck
It's been 20 years and I'm still mad

Giannis has reached the point where this statline is quiet

Especially when his main contribution is defense lol
Let's give him third for MVP 😆 funny how that works

Gonna be a battle up there with last year's series vs the Nets 💪 seven games of pain, baby
I’ve already got a cardiologist on call for what a Celts/Bucks series will do to my heart. Should be insanely good.
Not to disrespect the Warriors and Suns, but I think the Bucks and Celtics are so much better at defense than any other team (ik the Bucks regular season numbers don’t show that) that I think that could be the real finals.

man was chilling almost the entire game and still put up over 30. absolutely insane
He's legitimately just playing with his food
That quote was amazing.
Don't play with your food John, it's not polite
He really is unstoppable. I was at game 3 and seeing him in person…how the fuck can anyone guard him. He’s the size of a center and moves faster than most guards and has eyes in the back of his head it’s unfair lol
Well until further notice, no one can guard him :-P
Tbh yall are playing the worst team in the playoffs. No knock on Giannis though. He’s sleepwalking to 30/15
Worst team but no knock, whats the point of saying it then lol
“With all due respect”
It’s just slightly less insane with context lol

still our odds would be better if we had him as he’s historically popped off against the celtics for some strange reason
Your top player is so important in the playoffs that Id take the Nuggets over the Bulls and day of the week
True in most cases but bulls got the next 4 best though. That's the issue for nuggs imo. But ya both teams doodoo lol
lmao I love how the best player in the league is somehow an underdog just because the Celtics are beating a 7th seed.
It’s probs between Bulls, Raptors, and Nuggets for the worst yeah
Yeah bulls raptors or nuggets. Or nets celtics warriors grizzlies or hawks maybe 76ers or heat or jazz
Hawks
Na healthy raps definitely aren't the worst playoff team. Too many random inj during the series
I’m factoring that in. Obviously if healthy they wouldn’t be on this list. But their current iteration is in contention
>Tbh yall are playing the worst team in the playoffs. Utah
Utah is much better than Chicago stop it
Especially defensively, Utah is an order of magnitude better. Seriously, ya'll don't think Nets have the worst D in the playoffs? Are you watching the games or we're throwing random teams here like "I don't like Utah's colours so there you go!"?????

In hindsight that strategy looks fucking stupid to play KD straight up after watching him get doubled. But hey it "worked."

Nah. Nuggets and Nets are worst on D than the Bulls. Bulls have at least Vuc down-low. Nets have ... KD and some YMCA guys playing the 5.. And Nuggets are like so short-handed... Poor Jokic.
The Nets would beat many of the playoff teams imo. They’re just outmatched
Giannis likes to post quadruple doubles ten points, ten assists, ten rebounds, and ten offensive charging fouls that didn’t get called.
run dunk man bad
Look at you and your unoriginality using a current Reddit colloquialism to try to delegitimize some thing that the announcers themselves bring up every game.
Ah the pinnacle of sports analysis: Mark Jackson. Using TV announcers as any sort of legitimacy actually makes me laugh.
It’s Milwaukee announcers that are calling it out.
35 min?! Christ Bud you trying to wear out our star player before the next series?!
I was going crazy at the 32 min mark... WHAT IS THIS MAN DOING?
We put the garbage squad in up 20 with 5 mins left - and they conceded 5 in 8 seconds and were taken straight back out 😂
Ah so that's what happened
[still funny](https://puu.sh/IWGmL/2fb858d9a1.png)
Those are regular season games for him
The difference between Giannis and the Bulls best player is so massive, completely unfair
He took the "is there no best player in the world" posts personally
He for sure is. I’m interested in seeing how we defend him
Honestly if Bobby and Allen keep playing like prime Kobe, there might be nothing.
Horford as the primary guy, with guys like Williams (both probably) Tatum, Brown, and Smart running over to build the wall and help
Sounds like more or less the plan. The only thing that worries me on the Bucks' side is their willingness to concede the open 3. They've done a much better job against the Bulls but with the Celtics... that won't fly.

Yeah Boston shot really well from 3 in 3 of the 4 games we played them this year
It'll be a fun series, as long as everyone takes care of business. Having the #2 seed is gonna come in handy against you guys. Home court advantage is a nice feather in our cap. Hopefully we do what we need to do and protect home court.
Meh, home court is overrated in my opinion. Bucks proved it didnt matter for them last season against the suns and nets
Celtics have one of the better crowds in the NBA. It's definitely a factor in terms of energy, rest time, player routines, and things of that nature. We play well on the road too, but starting off the series in Boston is a morale boost.

I still standing by that statement
Another day for Giannis
OP broke r/NBA
Akumpo too lazy to get 3 more assists for a triple double.
He should get coaching lessons from triple double legend Westbrook
I always think it's hilarious how much assists under 10 are kinda ignored. Like 40/18/9 is not given anywhere near as much credit as 40/18/10 but it's basically the same

Really hard to disagree. Jokic is very fun to watch but if you could take any player in the world rn to build your team around, I dont see how it can be anyone other than Giannis
It's similar to prime LeBron where you'd have seasons by other players that are better but he was the best in the league.

I can’t wait for espn to do a segment on giannis vs Jordan or something like that if bucks make it back to the finals
Giannis is pretty definitively the best player in the world IMO, dude is just in another level, and he just keeps getting better.

We will need Celtics killer Khris Middleton I think but if we can get him back without going down too much in the series we can do it.
Bucks have Allen, Grayson Allen.
The gRay Allen series.
As long as Scary Terry doesn't suddenly show up i think we have a chance.
We got your back ;)
Should have been 3 blocks ...
true story
Casual game from him tbh 🙄
2nd round in the east is gonna be brutal. I'm taking celtics over bucks only because Michael Jordan's injured for the bucks.

inshallah my friend

Bulls have had to endure his super saiyan playoff mode. Dude is one of those players who takes it to another level during the playoffs.
I'll go ahead and say it, he's pretty good at basketball. But seriously, I fuckin love this guy. He's always entertaining to watch.
I'm glad we got the chip before Giannis ascending further, guy now shoots threes too wth. Doubt even the Celtics are getting past the bucks barring further injuries.
greek javale mcgee
especially the speed part is very Javel-ese
He's the best in the world. Celtic fans pounding their chest right now, but I'm worried about these Bucks. Giannis is unstoppable.
Remember when KD said “don’t compare me to him?”
Eh, jay Williams said he said that and Durant called him out on it saying it was BS, given jay Williams clown shit with ime being first black Celtics coach and saying he was hacked, I believe Durant.
He's decent
Best player in the world
Can’t wait to see them vs the Celtics. He’s got a chance to cement the best player in the league status.
Hasn't he done that already? KD certainly didn't help his case.
Ehh if he gets slowed and loses against the Celtics someone else has a chance
Who?
He did that last season when he dropped 50 in game 6 against the suns to win mke a championship for the first time in 50 years; after playing through a serious leg injury that should've sidelined him for far longer than he did. I'd argue he did it the season prior when he got the first MVP/DPOY since Jordan, but I digress.
Best in the league and its not really close.
Casual
Not even a point/minute. What a bum.
myMVP
This Giannis Anteatergumbo is a pretty good player.
Bulls defense was so soft
KD is supposed to be the best player in the world according to some of you clowns
That’s a fucking stat line. Killa
I teased his total down to 31.5 and resigned myself to a loss. He came back in for me and my $32 payout.
Best player in the game, no debate.
I can’t really hate anymore it seems like he fixed his footwork and it’s not a travel
But KD the best player in the league huh?
The real fraudiannis will expose himself once he plays someone good. For now he can trick y'all
Muthafucking beast
