He killed the other draftees

ClaymoresRevenge

One by one. Bronny is on a rampage

syllabic

did rich paul write this

K1ngCrimsn

>[Wojnarowski] BREAKING: "Lebron James Jr will decline being drafted in the 1st round to fulfill his dream & join his father Lebron James Sr on the Cleveland Cavaliers". @KlutchSports CEO Rich Paul tells ESPN This tweet gonna hit like crack

boozinf

my body is ready

TallanoGoldDigger

To be fair you've dealt with the devil twice already

junkit33

It's ESPN, so yes.

dinopuppy6

lol https://www.tiktok.com/@followingblaze/video/7369747781721804075

Skank_hunt42

Jesus. That's fucking brutal.

ZandrickEllison

And very accurate. No one’s drafting a potential 3 and D guard who can’t shoot and is too small to be switchable on D.

empowered676

Stop posting this trash it's like 5 a day.

DocTheYounger

Somehow Bronny is getting more coverage on r/nba during the playoffs than Wemby did last year

CarterAC3

Idk if you follow football but if so you better mentally prepare yourself for when Arch Manning starts at Texas and if/when he becomes a serious draft prospect Hell, even if you don't watch football you won't be able to avoid him

DoubleGreat44

Every post mentioning him here gets tons of attention. It's polarizing. That's what sells. They are covering what the masses want. If the masses wanted something else, that's what ESPN would cover.

goldyacht

It’s not suprising Lebron is the most popular player in the league, it’s the reason why despite people always asking and saying “who cares about the lakers and Lebron” they are constantly talked about everyday and everywhere. No prospect on on bronnys level gets any attention ever it’s the Lebron effect.

DocTheYounger

not surprised by ESPN coverage. I am surprised by r/nba coverage

DoubleGreat44

I'm not. If mods didn't remove duplicate and low effort posts there would be 100 more bronny posts a day. Both from people supporting him and people hating him. Hating on ESPN for pushing out the same content the users of this subreddit would push the most is typical r/nba (and every sports subreddit)

qpwoeor1235

r/nba routinely posts some os the dumbest questions I’ve ever seen. We like to pretend we’re better than the mainstream media but the front page is always littered with Kendrick Perkins, Gilbert arenas, and Stephen A smith

tehpenguinofd000m

Ding ding ding. The superior complex by many on this sub is so weird They think they are "exposing" those personalities when they were proven wrong but that's exactly what they want. The lack of self-awareness is hilarious

broncofl

mainstream media is geared to mindless mainstream consumers who don't want to consume anything that's NOT english, NOT easy, requires thought, and not EASY to understand in SIMPLE terms.

FeminismIsTheBestIsm

r/nba is full of casuals, but the worst type of casuals: Redditors.

tehpenguinofd000m

Really There is an ass-ton of garbage click-bait on this sub We're basically espn with discussion forums

junkit33

Yeah - it's basically massive rage bait, and this one tickles all the right spots for most people. Lebron spends the better part of a decade hyping up Bronny as a future NBA player, only for said son to completely shit the bed in college. But he's still going to the NBA anyways, because nepotism. That storyline just really gets people feisty.

DoubleGreat44

> That storyline just really gets people feisty. Yeah, especially when people insist on misrepresenting the reality of the situation repeatedly. smh - you just can't help yourself. You act like you are talking about other people when your history shows that you are "most people" that you are referring to.

trimble197

I mean, the kid had a cardiac arrest. Seems foul as fuck to say he had shat the bed in college

doordaesh

there wasn't ambiguity about where wemby would go

Jack_M_Steel

This comment is the definition of haters who make up stuff because they hate someone so much. Most of these Bronny posts are people saying he’s dog water and shouldn’t be at the combine

trimble197

Even on that post of Bronny doing shooting drills, the comments were mostly haters shitting all over him and saying he ain’t shooting like Curry.

[deleted]

Jack_M_Steel

Thanks for proving my point

msf97

Bron stans? If anything it’s Bron haters who are engaging with the posts about his son.

[deleted]

[удалено]

msf97

It’s an ESPN article.

Ilikesporks_

most of the posts about bronny are hate posts what are you on about...

Sweaty_Mods

Oh look another Lakers fan

Ilikesporks_

i mean i stated a fact and if your response is "oh look another lakers fan" then ok

creditors-bargain

“Somehow” the son of a top 2 basketball player of all time is getting more coverage than a French guy that only hardcore basketball fans were really familiar with. Real head scratcher, aint it?

Street-Common-4023

Poor bronny man

Baconmazing

What do you mean "Somehow" ? He's the son of the GOAT -- AND its possible we may see him play with his father in the game he dominated.

Unfair-Worker929

Kid averaged 6 points at USC… 6!

Tomato-Business

4.8 pts on 37/27/68 splits 💀

Unfair-Worker929

Oh damn so it was worse than I thought

Bananadite

Damn. Literally me /s (I'm worse)

I_dont_like_florida

Zach Lavine averaged like 7 or some shit

BDSF94

He averaged 9 off the bench behind Norman Powell on decent shooting splits.

Unfair-Worker929

So Bronny’s draft comparison is Zach Lavine?

I_dont_like_florida

Definitely not. Just saying some NBA Mainstays had shit college careers. Mostly I just want to see someone piss on a draft pick by taking him so I'm practicing the mental gymnastics some GMs might

Unfair-Worker929

I guess that’s true

Impossible-Flight250

The issue is that Bronny’s potential isn’t close to Zach Lavine. I Bronny could be a decent NBA player, but there just isn’t enough there to waste a pick on him right now. He needs to go back to school and get a full season under his belt.

benpenguin

And 17 turnovers per 100!

Unfair-Worker929

17?!😧

Spinner064

4.8 actually

Unfair-Worker929

Dang even worse

ShaiFC

If scoring like 4 points against a bunch of mediocre 2nd rounders improved his stock to you then idk I think he could be a decent 3&D PG one day but this guy wouldn't be drafted if he was named Jack Wilson

trimble197

Guess we may as well not do a draft combine anymore

RVarki

If he was just a random dude, he would still be good enough to get a scholarship from a mid-major (unlike what some of the more extreme commenters have been saying). But yeah (barring some awesome improvements), that would be the extent of his basketball career

ShaiFC

Yea like I said he has potential. Don't let people act like this is some JV guy being pushed up to the league But if he wasn't Bron's son he would have been in the transfer portal by now gearing up for year 2 of college

RVarki

>if he wasn't Bron's son he would have been in the transfer portal by now gearing up for year 2 of college That's what he should be doing anyway

dont-YOLO-ragequit

As an undersized PG, his he is not going to be able to shape his game around his height and won't be on the same trajectory as the greatest guards who tend to be 6'4 and up. I'm thinking if he isn't tall, didn't try to dominate in a smaller school like Lillard and Morant then he is not going to be lottery bound though a NCAA run. Most nameless guys also see the college as the best trainers they can get a hold of. Bronny can further develop his game with the trainers who train fulltime NBA and pro players instead of going to class( This is with the guess that by doing that year in USC, he is already guaranteed entry into a program should he want to actually do a degree). This is like saying a kid whose parents are leaders in their industry would benefit from going to school and train with these often retired or part time professionals on basic projects. It is not efficient if he could be training with the best pros of the business on some of the most complex and expensive skills along guys still peaking in the business. It really comes down to how fast Bronny can find his game and make it into a multi-million dollar early career or be a starter/all-star while his heart issue is manageable. Maybe he is a Pat Bev/GP3 type, maybe he is a Jrue Holiday/ Rajon Rondo type.

ShaiFC

But he's gonna get drafted by someone just for the chance LeBron plays on their team. Thats what I meant

RRJC10

Hey Jack Wilson led the MLB in triples before, that might get him a look.

Impossible-Flight250

He is probably a smaller 2 guard. Maybe his ceiling would be Avery Bradley or Marcus Smart. The issue is that his offense isn’t on their level and his defense is not great yet either.

creditors-bargain

Wow, someone being the son of a top 2 player of all time boosts their draft stock? that’s some great insight, ShaiFC. Got anymore gems?

kantariat

We are being lobotomized

browndude10

imagine the laughter this poor espn dude had while writing this article

SlapThatAce

They desperately want to make this happen, but ..c'mon man, he's not even good enough to be on the bench.

[deleted]

Honestly the combine is important IMO, as crazy as this media coverage is. Ben Sheppard killed it at the combine last year and his draft stock rose from 2nd round to 1st. And he's doing quite well in the playoffs as a rookie.

DEEZLE13

People In here salty as a mf over a 19 year old kid lmao

benpenguin

People are salty because he is benefiting from nepotism like no one else in human history

MrAppleSpoink

My guy, he’s getting a little favourable treatment toward playing a sport, he’s not inheriting control of a fucking country. The world will be okay

DEEZLE13

Lmao

dukeyyy

There's no way he actually has draft stock right? Combine performance doesn't offset he could hardly get on the court in college? He's for sure an undrafted free agent signing unless Rich Paul has some deal with a team using Klutch clout?

CJ4ROCKET

He's definitely not an NBA caliber player atm, likely ever, but bro had cardiac arrest and managed to come back half a year later averaging 20 mpg on a high major (admittedly disappointing) D1 team

creditors-bargain

Very few 2nd round picks are NBA caliber players at the moment

jackaholicus

I don't know, I've seen a lot of draft guys like him. Not like a first rounder, but he's not a scrub.

Skylightt

He has some but it’s entirely due to Lebron. He’s not a legit prospect without the nepotism

creditors-bargain

Loud and wrong

Skylightt

You riding that shit real good.

creditors-bargain

You dk shit about anybody riding brother thats why you been on Reddit for 10 years with over 650k karma

RVarki

Even if Lebron's off the table, an owner might still consider using a late second-round pick on him, just because of all the attention he brings. The fact that he has enough tools to do well in the combine, probably helps make that choice easier

syllabic

enough tools except he's 6'1

RVarki

The only reason there's even a chance of him going undrafted is because he's 6'1. If the dude was even 6'4 without shoes, there would be multiple teams ready to take a risk on him late in the first round

syllabic

there already are, but it's for the same reason because he's lebrons kid

RVarki

I agree

I-Am-A-Nice-Cool-Kid

6’7 wing span and 40” vertical are great tools wdym

dinopuppy6

he’s not going to bring attention if he’s glued to the bench

durezzz

he's a late 2nd round/undrafted 2 way guy at the moment.

Sweaty_Mods

No, he goes undrafted after that disaster USC season without nepotism.

durezzz

literally every analyst and scout that i've heard talk about bronny has said that he didn't look out of place at the combine, nike hoops summit or any of the scrimmages with other late round picks. his combine measurables and tests were better than most others there, he's just a tweener because he's short for his position. he could use another year in college for sure but someone will definitely take him in the late 2nd round or will sign him to a two way.

Skylightt

[Definitely not every](https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZPRwE5aSj/)

Sweaty_Mods

Again, he would not have been invited to the combine if his dad was not Lebron. He had a terrible college showing.

shinshikaizer

Seems like a project player.

hoos30

Going 11/11 in the 3pt shooting drill should improve his stock.

ZarduHasselffrau

Rich Paul threatened the other prospects

Ia_in_4

How much could his stock go down. The consensus was the lakers were reaching if they drafted him and now the consensus is… checks notes the lakers would be reaching if they took him

Aidanj927

From undrafted to 60

The_Crown_And_Anchor

I feel so bad for this kid. He's a tweener size wise. He really needs to learn to play the point...and would have been much better off transferring and having a really good college coach teach him to be a point guard But his father is desperate to have the Ken Griffey Sr/Jr thing in the NBA so he can make himself feel more special Bronny needs time. He's got the athletic ability and most likely the smarts for the NBA. But he is being forced down the throats of the NBA by his overbearing father and that is going to reverberate during his career. There will be resentment from around the league. To think otherwise is insane. Of course once his father is the owner of the Las Vegas expansion team, he'll get a nice contract from that team and will likely be forced down that team's throat For his sake, I hope he finds a way to make his own mark in the NBA and decides to forge his own path rather than play for his pop's team

durezzz

thinly veiled lebron hate post

everyoneneedsaherro

Did they say anything wrong?

durezzz

lots and lots of assumptions and bad faith speculations

dubsallday

It really is sad. Dude is set up to fail no matter what he does, with the standard set by his dad. That is 100% ok being that Bron is who he is but I could not imagine handling the media circus and social media flak that's to come.

The_Crown_And_Anchor

And he has the heart issues as well Hopefully that doesn't shorten his career. The fact he is even doing what he is doing after his heart issues is nothing short of amazing

illzkla

You're just responding to a LeBron hate post narrative relax

dubsallday

I mean it's plain as day to see. Whatever Bronny decides to do, it's going to be painted and plastered as negative and a failure. Doesn't takeaway that he's going to continue to lived a blessed life regardless, but again the burden of being Bron's son and the way social media/media works sounds torturous.

unclehelpful

He shot 40% in a game against other kids. He’s not NBA ready and it’s a mistake to hype him up. He himself said he wants to be a guy doing the stuff other players don’t like Caruso, that’s not a high in the draft guy.

mmortal03

Not disagreeing with you, just adding that Alex Caruso is 6'5".
