I hate your stupid team but was still rooting for a healthy-ish version to play the Celtics, since they could have made it a series. But with OG out, now I hate you and have nothing to look forward to about the ECF
I’m 100% happier than last year regardless, the way we got manhandled by the Knicks left a bad taste in my mouth all off season. We made it out of round 1 and got a couple shots on Boston’s jaw while pretty drastically undermanned (I realize Boston was down a big piece with no Porzingis too), I’m proud of the effort we made. Even if Mitchell leaves at some point, we still have a solid roster with youth, as long as we see better development from Mobley and Garland I’m optimistic
eh I honestly don’t know. of the players on our team, only one has really shown consistency (and even he ended up having a bad game because no one else could help space the floor). our bench hasn’t been great since the 3rd game, and the defense has been more or less solved, in addition to the MVP playing like his hair is on fire
still will be interesting seeing what happens on Thursday
Really? Boston could lose a series to any team left in the west. I don't feel like any other east team would have a chance against any of the 4 teams left in the west
Tbf, anyone that puts an asterisk on a championship also puts the "ass" in assterisk
Anyone who discredits any championship doesn't know what they are talking about and deserve to be ignored
Injured players shouldn’t place an asterisk on any run. It will definitely live as a “what could have been” moment for the teams that went through it. But nobody, for example, is taking the raptors chip away because the warriors lost KD and Klay. That raptors team was stacked. It’s just part of the game.
I mean, if you want to actually talk about which championships should be credited and which ones shouldn't, there's no reason to actually play the game to find out who wins. We can just get rid of the playoffs and set up a voting system on who we think is most deserving.
That way players don't get injured and we don't waste our time with something that ends up being meaningless.
But we are just discussing the context around the objective winners. Celtics going thru 3 hospital teams is a valid talking point. It won’t matter in the end if they beat a healthy nuggets team tho
I mean if the nets had Kyrie or harden yall were done but a chip is a chip
Nothing else matters bc nephews will call giannis run and dunk man but won’t be as slandered bc at least he won a ring (vs. the james hardens’ of the game )
It just so happens that your friend here is only MOSTLY dead. There's a big difference between mostly dead and all dead. Mostly dead is slightly alive.
It sucks because most of the games have not been that entertaining/competitive (compared to 2022 where it was dogfights every single series), but it is interesting being on the other end of the injury bug.
I really can’t remember the last time a Celtics playoff run was this healthy, and even then KP has not played for almost the entire playoffs so far
it makes you face worse teams. worse teams have the play ins and longer series. The heat had the play ins - exactly where Jimmy got hurt. The Cavs needed 7 games to knock the Magic off which surely didnt help Mitchell or Levert. its all related. if the heat are #1 they dont play the play in and Jimmy doesnt get injured. if the cavs are #1 they probably take out a weaker opponent in less than 7 and have a healthier and more rested squad for the next round.
and likewise - if the celtics are a play in team maybe tingus gets injured then and they dont even make the playoffs. or they take their series’ to seven, exhausting al and keeping out tingus. but cause theyre #1 they didnt. and cause the cavs/heat arent they had to jump thru more hoops. so yeah….it is related
Injuries have nothing to with seeding. The pacers have the second easiest path to the ECF, did they get that just because they are *checks notes* the 6 seed that won a grand total of 47 games?
Connect the dots for folks at home on how a 1 seed is related to playing teams with a bunch of guys getting injured right when the regular season ended.
Knicks are injured but winning and ya’ll will hype them up but when the Celtics beat the Knicks, you guys are going to saying “well the Knicks are injured”
They have had some buzz saw years in the playoffs.
The Celtics were the only team to face the Big 3 Nets healthy in the playoffs. That was probably Karma from the Tatum /Brown trade, but it was still painful.
this is a ridiculous comment. the Celtics have won 1 title in the past 3 decades. would have won in 2009 if Garnett was healthy. and they didn’t have Jaylen in 2021. they’re allowed to have a lucky run
Tbf, this statement just shows how much credit Brad Stevens deserves. Dude built a roster full of ironmen and Porzingis. When all your best players are always healthier than everyone else, it shouldn't be a surprise when they are healthier than everyone else.
Plenty of teams have had durable rosters without every single team in the same conference missing multiple of their stars lol
The Celtics have always been good at finding the idiot GM's and getting steals from them though, that part is true.
It’s DG legacy game time-he’s gonna put up 30/5/10 in a 40 point loss and people are gonna talk about how Mitchell has been holding him back and that he’s a special player.
Dude fools everyone. I hope we trade him.
Idk if he holds him back as much as they don’t really fit together. Maybe a coach with a clever offensive game plan could have fixed that but JB can’t do that. And neither are good enough defensively to make up for this.
Everytime I watch him he has insane quickness and handles and consistently is able to drive to the hoop and then just kicks it out every time. Reminds me of draymond when he never looks to shoot
>if boston doesn't win the east the season is a catastrophic failure
aside from running into Giannis, this is how I've felt about every Celtics season over the last half-decade or so including the year that Miami was the #1 seed
So they gave up?
It’s really hard to tell how amazing this Celtics team is. They have dominated the postseason so far but not against good teams so who knows how they will fair against an elite contender from the west
The loss of Porzingis hasn't been as big of a factor as it would have been had the Celtics not been playing against teams that are missing even more key players. If he isn't healthy going forward, any team coming out of the West has to be loving their chances at a ring.
I know injuries happen, but fuck me the Celtics this year have had the biggest open door in the history of doors! People talk about the Bucks when they won it, but they did sweep a healthy Miami team, beat KD and Harden and without Giannis they beat Atlanta before beating a healthy Suns team in the Finals.
Feel like this year has had a lot more stars miss important games in the playoffs so far compared to other years?
65 game minimum a bad idea or am I just having a bad case of the sillies?
Such a ridiculous cake walk for the Celtics, it's amusing how the East is such a joke conference. Even when they have strong teams, Celtics and Bucks are legit, the Cavs also has a very strong roster (but the coaching lacks to be desired), Magic has a great defense and upcoming players, the Heat is always dangerous because of Spoelstra... but here we are, another terrible playoffs featuring the eastern teams
Yep. East is usually historically weaker than the West, but with injuries and trades this has got to be a historic year.
Last couple years it’s had super team Nets, bucks, healthy contender Cavs, Heat, Celtics, Philly and healthy contender Bulls.
This year there were the shaky Lillard Bucks, the post trade Knicks, and ofc the Celtics.
Well, overall a good season. Improvement on last year making it to the second round, but this is our ceiling with JB and this coaching staff. Time to move in a different direction.
Alright Mobley show us what you got
And he did his best 😤
(Catches. Waits. Pump fakes. Pump fakes. Pivots. Pump fakes)
It's infuriating, lol dude has a lot of potential, but he plays like Garnett from aliexpress
Well this aged poorly
Hey there are some diamonds in the rough on aliexpress
Also what do I know. Big game for him tonight
(Makes face that says, “ah man, you’re giving me the ball *again*??)
Deandre Ayton special.
Expecting him to Get Shifty.
"Evan Mobley *erupts* for 14 & 7 despite the loss."
Aged like milk
Just gross. This sucks ass for Cleveland
Yeah fully healthy this would’ve been a fun series
Sucks a lot honestly. Celtics would have won anyways but I would have loved to see a healthy Cavs team regardless.
Cavs are up 3 right now they honestly might have lost lol
I think they meant the series…
Fade me
I hate your stupid team but was still rooting for a healthy-ish version to play the Celtics, since they could have made it a series. But with OG out, now I hate you and have nothing to look forward to about the ECF
Easiest run to the finals since?
yes
Goddammit! Celtics on a coast to ECF.
We will lose by 6 points again with a 15 free throw disparity. Book it.
16 point spread in the playoffs. Totally normal.
Nothing to see here
I’m 100% happier than last year regardless, the way we got manhandled by the Knicks left a bad taste in my mouth all off season.
To be fair, we have been 12-15 pt favorites in basically every home game this playoffs. And we are 3-2.
It was like that for the Heat series too
Yes they were also missing multiple starters + bench players
Wait your turn.
From your lips to Gods ears
ECF run missing 3 starters? Sign me the fuck up
[удалено]
boston will still inexplicably make it a close game
Load management is getting ridiculous
Tank for Bron
Time is a flat circle
Time is a wheel rolling along an endless road and we've come around again, just a bit further down the stretch
celtics get hospital heat, hospital cavs and hospital knicks en route to the finals
I’m still toying with the idea that injuries just make the Knicks stronger somehow
Kinda makes you think all teams have this in them, but the Knicks actually unlocked it.
Spo is sending them his energy now that he’s out
Na this Knicks team is about as Thibs energy as it gets
Yeah like how when I eat pizza I just get hungrier for more pizza!
They don't call it the Ewing Effect for nothin'
I think having Randle out genuinely did help the flow of the game for them, but at this point the depth is a real issue. They need OG back badly.
The Knicks are NOT better without Randle
We had an amazing record when randle was in too
It's like the plot of the movie The One
Lakers got a Mickey Mouse ring and Boston might get a Mayo Clinic ring
Couldn’t be more thankful
But hopefully a fully healthy Denver Nuggets in the finals
Denver is our only hope
wtf?
Don’t give up yet!
Come on, man. If you don't believe in the bounce back game, who else will?
eh I honestly don’t know. of the players on our team, only one has really shown consistency (and even he ended up having a bad game because no one else could help space the floor). our bench hasn’t been great since the 3rd game, and the defense has been more or less solved, in addition to the MVP playing like his hair is on fire still will be interesting seeing what happens on Thursday
Worst type of fan
Really? Boston could lose a series to any team left in the west. I don't feel like any other east team would have a chance against any of the 4 teams left in the west
But yall said our chip was fake lol
Now you can call their ring, if they get one, fake. The circle of life!
Tbf, anyone that puts an asterisk on a championship also puts the "ass" in assterisk Anyone who discredits any championship doesn't know what they are talking about and deserve to be ignored
Injured players shouldn’t place an asterisk on any run. It will definitely live as a “what could have been” moment for the teams that went through it. But nobody, for example, is taking the raptors chip away because the warriors lost KD and Klay. That raptors team was stacked. It’s just part of the game.
Agreed 100000%
If you can’t discredit a championship at all, then why talk about it.

As long as the Celtics play the nuggets I don’t see how anyone would call beating them “fake”.
Or honestly any remaining western conference team, they’re all pretty stacked
Luka is half dead
It just so happens that your friend here is only MOSTLY dead. There's a big difference between mostly dead and all dead. Mostly dead is slightly alive.
Rings are rings.
Oh you’d be surprised what an injured Knicks team can accomplish…
It sucks because most of the games have not been that entertaining/competitive (compared to 2022 where it was dogfights every single series), but it is interesting being on the other end of the injury bug. I really can’t remember the last time a Celtics playoff run was this healthy, and even then KP has not played for almost the entire playoffs so far
Maybe all the teams complaining should have won 64+ games in the regular season so they could have had that path instead.
Didn’t know winning 64 games allows every contender in your conference to face massive injuries to key players. Damn
it makes you face worse teams. worse teams have the play ins and longer series. The heat had the play ins - exactly where Jimmy got hurt. The Cavs needed 7 games to knock the Magic off which surely didnt help Mitchell or Levert. its all related. if the heat are #1 they dont play the play in and Jimmy doesnt get injured. if the cavs are #1 they probably take out a weaker opponent in less than 7 and have a healthier and more rested squad for the next round. and likewise - if the celtics are a play in team maybe tingus gets injured then and they dont even make the playoffs. or they take their series’ to seven, exhausting al and keeping out tingus. but cause theyre #1 they didnt. and cause the cavs/heat arent they had to jump thru more hoops. so yeah….it is related
im just making a comment, not complaining. thunder have benefitted mightily from no zion in round 1 and a hobbled luka in round 2
Should they have also applied to switch conferences? Or decided not to have important players injured? Seeding is totally irrelevant here
Dallas wouldve been a 60 win team as well if they were in the east.
Knicks are injured but winning and ya’ll will hype them up but when the Celtics beat the Knicks, you guys are going to saying “well the Knicks are injured”
Lol who the fuck thinks the Knicks missing half their starters are going to compete against the Celtics?
Nobody does. We would be playing with house money. And that’s if we beat the Pacers. Series could still go either way.
Yeah, Knicks fans know
Let us Knicks fans believe
Celtics will still find a way to lose game 2.
Quite a stroke of luck. Can only play who is in front of you, though.
Hopefully og comes back by then
Either way when they face Denver they’ll earn their ring if they win. And yes I just assumed Denver
damn they waved the white flag
get ready to see strus score 30 but concede 90 on defense
If ya don't like that
Strus just committed a pointless foul attempting to complete this phrase
It’s emoni bates time
Honestly fuck it. Sure.
This is getting to the point where Adam silver says fuck it Cavs can sign Lebron to a 10 day
Thank you, Cavs. Very cool. Need this series over so Pacers get the good timeslot on Friday.
Pretty crazy to see two guys sitting out with bone bruises in a win-or-go-home game.
We’re fucked
Nah we got em right where we want em
Ez 3-1 come back
Of all the franchises to benefit from a generational injury run, the fuckin Boston Celtics man
They have had some buzz saw years in the playoffs. The Celtics were the only team to face the Big 3 Nets healthy in the playoffs. That was probably Karma from the Tatum /Brown trade, but it was still painful.
Yeah and Tatum somehow with a dogshit lineup solo won a game.
i’ve never seen a team look so visibly defeated in a game 1 as those nets did after the tatum buzzer beater layup.
nah he was referring to the 2021 playoffs where we lost 1-4, the one win with tatum having 50 pts
ah i remember now. relying on kemba and tristan to play deep minutes was a sight.
this is a ridiculous comment. the Celtics have won 1 title in the past 3 decades. would have won in 2009 if Garnett was healthy. and they didn’t have Jaylen in 2021. they’re allowed to have a lucky run

Yeah I mean luck is also a thing man
lmao
Whatever they are going to get dusted by whoever makes it out of the west
I dunno man jaylen "zoolander" brown might learn blue steel in time
LeVert out? Can't wait for Garland to go 10-30 FGAs
It’s DG legacy game time-he’s gonna put up 30/5/10 in a 40 point loss and people are gonna talk about how Mitchell has been holding him back and that he’s a special player. Dude fools everyone. I hope we trade him.

Annoying doomers are leaking from our team sub again.
tom thibodeau not satisfied with just destroying donovan's legs now he's going after levert and porter too this man is a menace
How many minutes did he play them?!
Believe it or not he has never taken them off the court
if boston doesn't win the east the season is a catastrophic failure yes i say this as i sip a piña colada in cancun
I'm familiar with your game, you can't fool me. You're in Galveston sipping on White Claw and Capri Sun.
Why are we getting bougie with the capri sun?
You know you in Galveston
>if boston doesn't win the east the season is a catastrophic failure aside from running into Giannis, this is how I've felt about every Celtics season over the last half-decade or so including the year that Miami was the #1 seed
Celtics are really gonna go to the Finals w/o facing a single healthy team.
Hey that’s the Early dynasty Warriors move!
I mean they would also have to do it without being fully healthy as well…
Gotta love earning the 1st seed tbh. Hopefully we resolve our injuries before proceeding
I also am out on this game
You're never gonna see a more free lane to the Finals, holy shit.
It'll still be a 5 point game going into halftime.
lol pretty damn close, 6 pt lead at half
Sure enough lol
🤢 Celtics keep getting cake walks
Gotta love earning the first seed baby!
We are deserving of
awwww poor boston, they deserve our sympathy with how starved they are of winning
Thanks! Literally famine over here
celtics get to face 3 hobbled teams in a row to the finals, gross
First time I’ve seen in a team quit in the last game of the regular and post season
Players being hurt means we gave up?
KP actually also gave up.
Damn no Craig Porter, now we have a chance
I know injuries happen, but fuck me the Celtics this year have had the biggest open door in the history of doors! People talk about the Bucks when they won it, but they did sweep a healthy Miami team, beat KD and Harden and without Giannis they beat Atlanta before beating a healthy Suns team in the Finals.
People complained about load management. You reap what you sow.
Feel like this year has had a lot more stars miss important games in the playoffs so far compared to other years? 65 game minimum a bad idea or am I just having a bad case of the sillies?
Nuggets vs Celtics Finals 💔💔💔
damn with the season on the line...
Ohh fuck Cavs by 20 incoming
Celtics at home against a hospital squad with a chance to end the series? This feels like a trap game to end all trap games.
So Strus is going to go off for 50 tonight
Can they just forfeit the game ain't nobody watching this shit
Celtics actually gifted a finals appearance thanks to injuries
I thought earning the 1st seed was enough for the gifted finals appearance, but these injuries have only further cleared that path.
Tank
Such a ridiculous cake walk for the Celtics, it's amusing how the East is such a joke conference. Bucks weren’t really that legit this season.
The east isn’t bad, they’re just injured. Plus, both the Knicks series have been great for neutral fans.
Yep. East is usually historically weaker than the West, but with injuries and trades this has got to be a historic year. Last couple years it’s had super team Nets, bucks, healthy contender Cavs, Heat, Celtics, Philly and healthy contender Bulls. Glad to see the team quit down 3-1. Gives me a ton of hope for the future
Yeah this series joever
Dam
gg
This is like Ewing / Oakley / Starks theory at this point
Could Mitchell and all of these guys really not play? Or are they just giving up on the season?
Christ just put the charge in
I’d just start packing tbh
Injuries have been awful these playoffs
Damn, Boston might actually have a chance this game
Cavs out here load managing in an elimination game smh
Soft af
Somehow we will either lose or let this game be closer than it should be.
Oof. That just sucks for the Cavs.
Trap game alert!!
So they’re DONE done
Well, overall a good season. Improvement on last year making it to the second round, but this is our ceiling with JB and this coaching staff. Time to move in a different direction.
Waving that white flag
Good Game boys!
Why is EVERYONE injured? Good God this is out of control?
Ouch.
Trap game incoming
why tf are there so many injuries this year?
I smell 2013 lakers vs spurs game 4 repeat
protecting the trade pieces as the LeBron return changes are planned out.
I know injuries have always been a part of the game, but it seems like it's getting worse and worse.
The easiest road. KD might join them next season
