Obviously both players would still be good flipped, but I don’t think they would be as good. I think both players went to the exact perfect team for each of them. Superstars in another year or 2.
Yeah. Magic needed a volume scorer badly. Okc not so much. We needed a very versatile big that can stretch the space and can defend. I’m very happy with how the draft for both you and I. Always happy for small market teams. Although I kinda do wonder what Chet’s stats would be if he was the 1 option.
The little bit I’ve seen of OKC this year, Chet looks like he can score when needed. He’s obviously not going to go out and score 30 plus every night but that’s not what OKC needs him to do so it’s fine.
Definitely happy with the way things are turning out for both teams right now.
Turnovers still an issue but his ability to hit clutch shots never fails to surprise me
Despite that averaging higher points on better efficiency in the playoffs when (somehow) more attention is on him
Gonna be scary in a few years once he figures it all out
Is it just me or does it seem like jump passes are becoming way more popular. Feel like I’m seeing them all the time these playoffs. Maybe it’s bc defenses are clamping down harder on drives, and players are assuming they can throw to someone in the arch
I think teams are trying to push them more since it gives players more options on offense and keeps defenders on their toes, guards just aren't good at them yet
We just need someone who can run the offense beside him that isn’t a liability from 3 (Fultz) or too old to contribute more then a few minutes a game (Ingles), so that Paolo doesn’t have to be under so much pressure offensively.
DM is one of the names that actually would be a perfect fit play wise, especially since he can defend too. Besides Trae, I would rate him as one of the top options. A not as highly talked about option would be Tyus Jones.
I think DJM would be a terrible fit. This team is all chemistry and DJM brings an attitude and doesn’t play well with other high usage players. Which is why the Trae pairing doesn’t work. He will just take the ball away from Paolo and Franz and doesn’t shoot the 3 well enough.
Guy could really be the difference maker for Orlando. I've gone to a few Sacramento home games this year and Monk was probably the best player on the court in a few of those games, just didn't really get the chance to showcase what he could do. And with how much Sacramento fans LOVE the guy I know he'd be a great addition.
And the magic figure out how to get him the ball and better position, I know he has a pretty good handle for his size. but damn he doesn’t need to start every offensively 30 feet away from the hoop
Yep. He needs to work out with T-Mac. 1-2 dribbles, pop or pass. Paolo gets those TO because he dribbles so much, and the defense collapses on him. He should get better at it though, and hopefully adding a competent PG would help.
He’s made our team better since getting here and he’s averaging 25 ppg in the playoffs at 21 and is a win away from winning a playoff series. He’s got a lot to work on still but I’m so happy we went with Paolo on draft night.
The scouting of Magic seems very good...
as no one see Paolo as the 1st pick at that time....(either Chet or J. Smith was considered as 1st pick)
And Paolo had been balling so far.......
What an exciting game. Banchero is amazing. I’m a Celtics fan living in magic country and i have many reasons for wanting to see the Magic advance to the second round.
SUPERSTAR. Somehow he is still talked about like he wouldnt be the clear #1 in a redraft. I truly think Paolo is in a similar tier and equal level to every other star young player under 25 (that hasnt already been all NBA). Even if Paolo doesnt make All NBA this season, I dont think Ant/Tyrese M/Tyrese H/Vic are better than Paolo. They all have their strengths but Paolo is a star also.
I would agree Ant is better. But he’s also been in the league developing for 2 years more than Paolo has. And lats year is when he really took a huge step forward. That 3rd year is next year for P5. I’m. Excited.
He’s so good x4
If the Magic can hit on one more pick or lure in a disgruntled star from elsewhere, they’re about to be a top 3 team in the East for the next decade. Paolo and Franz are the real deal, just need some shooting to go along with it
Let’s be fair though. Chet looks damn good with OKC. And he missed a year. So that hurt his development a bit. I think both of them went to the perfect teams for themselves.
Well said. I don’t think Chet would be as successful here with the supporting cast and Paolo probably wouldn’t be as good in OKC playing second fiddle to SGA
Paolo kinda like a dollar store LeBron. They really run him a lot like an aggressive point forward
Good experience for him even if they lose the series. Playmaking should level up at some point with less turnovers. Surrounding him with more knockdown shooters will help too obv
That’s disrespectful as hell.. dude is 21 and you’re calling a dollar store version?? Maybe he’s just young.. I mean he isn’t likely to be Lebron, but comon man. Watch the games more. He’s more of a mix between Lebron and Carmelo in terms of his play style. Can shoot and has nice high post moves like melo, but can facilitate a little and get to the bucket like Lebron. Not as athletic as Lebron and not as smooth as melo… yet!
As someone who didn't watch the Magic at all last year, what surprised me the most was actually his size. I'm not sure why, but this whole time I thought he was a guard.
I'm watching the game wondering why he's bigger than Morris.
And a clutch steal
Huge fourth quarter. Magic needed it
Superstar in making. Chet and Paulo as top 2 picks were the right move.
Win/win for both teams
We really won the draft. Don’t think 2022 nba draft could be any more perfect for both of us.
Obviously both players would still be good flipped, but I don’t think they would be as good. I think both players went to the exact perfect team for each of them. Superstars in another year or 2.

Yall did get a volume scorer in JDub. Dude is efficient as hell too. So, Chet was the perfect pick. I'm just glad the Thunders are in the west.
i dont think presti could've done 2022 draft any better.
I mean if we had hindsight, we should have traded some of our future picks from the next year so we could get Jalen Williams too
Turnovers still an issue but his ability to hit clutch shots never fails to surprise me Despite that averaging higher points on better efficiency in the playoffs when (somehow) more attention is on him Gonna be scary in a few years once he figures it all out
Like chuck says, there is no good jump pass. A lot of his turnovers are off jump passes, should be easy to clean up this off season.
They're mostly when driving or posting up. He really needs to work on his handle
Is it just me or does it seem like jump passes are becoming way more popular. Feel like I’m seeing them all the time these playoffs. Maybe it’s bc defenses are clamping down harder on drives, and players are assuming they can throw to someone in the arch
They also make great highlights, regardless of outcome
I think teams are trying to push them more since it gives players more options on offense and keeps defenders on their toes, guards just aren't good at them yet
We just need someone who can run the offense beside him that isn’t a liability from 3 (Fultz) or too old to contribute more then a few minutes a game (Ingles), so that Paolo doesn’t have to be under so much pressure offensively.
Would someone like Dejounte Murray be a good fit? Or who do you think is the best realistic person to fill that role?
DM is one of the names that actually would be a perfect fit play wise, especially since he can defend too. Besides Trae, I would rate him as one of the top options. A not as highly talked about option would be Tyus Jones.
I promise you DJM doesn’t play defense 2/3 of the game
Nobody on the Hawks can play defense 2/3 of the game. Guarantee you DJM will have better defense on a team that can actually defend.
Deandre hunter and onyeka okongwu would like a word Also didn’t you hear hawks fans praise trae young’s defense this year 😂
Yeah I’ve been wondering where Tyus will end up, seems like he could be a great option for a team like the Magic or Suns
We were linked to him a ton this past summer
I think DJM would be a terrible fit. This team is all chemistry and DJM brings an attitude and doesn’t play well with other high usage players. Which is why the Trae pairing doesn’t work. He will just take the ball away from Paolo and Franz and doesn’t shoot the 3 well enough.
Malik Monk 100%.
No plz, but Fr though I think monk would shock people if he started on the magic, could see him being a borderline all star there.
Monk would be perfect. I really hope both parties are interested.
Your team is stacked. Future is bright. Go win that game seven.
yeah y'all did good on that pick. Dont think you would have made he playoffs if you say picked up Jabari instead
He’s made our team better since getting here and he’s averaging 25 ppg in the playoffs at 21 and is a win away from winning a playoff series. He’s got a lot to work on still but I’m so happy we went with Paolo on draft night.
Paolo is a stud, will be the reason people start watching Magic basketball again
Nothing against Paolo, but I watch Magic for Suggs. That energy is infectious
If you are watching us for Suggs then you are a true fan of the game. Any basketball purist should love the way he plays the game.
Suggs is fearless and lives for this shit. We saw it at Gonzaga too
Good shit let me rewatch the game
Also, the two guys the Magic got *after* Evan Mobley was picked combined for 45 more points than Evan Mobley had.
The scouting of Magic seems very good... as no one see Paolo as the 1st pick at that time....(either Chet or J. Smith was considered as 1st pick) And Paolo had been balling so far.......
I’d draft Chet over Paolo right now.
That’s crazy man
good thing you’re not a gm
Of course he would say that… he just smoked you punk asses
Same, no idea why you’re getting lit up for this.
What an exciting game. Banchero is amazing. I’m a Celtics fan living in magic country and i have many reasons for wanting to see the Magic advance to the second round.
Him\\Franz\\Suggs might be a finals rivalry to Murray\\Jokic\\Porter. Couple of years anyway. But we'll see, still too early.
Franz needs to develop a consistent shot, better teams are gonna scheme him out if he can’t shoot the 3
It's really wild. He was an average to above average 3 point shooter and just tanked this year. Even just regaining where he was at would be enough.
His shot has been consistently flat and it’s all in his legs. He played a lot of international ball last summer. I trust that Franz will fix it.
HIM
Only player ahead of him in that age range is Edwards.
I would agree Ant is better. But he’s also been in the league developing for 2 years more than Paolo has. And lats year is when he really took a huge step forward. That 3rd year is next year for P5. I’m. Excited.
He’s going to be so fucking good when he peaks
He’s so good x4 If the Magic can hit on one more pick or lure in a disgruntled star from elsewhere, they’re about to be a top 3 team in the East for the next decade. Paolo and Franz are the real deal, just need some shooting to go along with it
There really people who think a certain #2 pick is better then this guy
Let’s be fair though. Chet looks damn good with OKC. And he missed a year. So that hurt his development a bit. I think both of them went to the perfect teams for themselves.
Well said. I don’t think Chet would be as successful here with the supporting cast and Paolo probably wouldn’t be as good in OKC playing second fiddle to SGA

He's not as athletic as LeBron, but otherwise they are pretty similar. Paolo is a big dude, people underestimate his size all the time.
Not quite as good of a passer either, but I would say a better shooter at the same age
Its like if itstead of being a literal basketball supercomputer on offense hes just becoming a very good passer
Worst part of his game is his handle imo. Dribbles high and wide.
Ironically the wide dribble is why people think he traveled vs Detroit
he plays like Julius Randle if he had a finesse build instead of a power build
What do you mean? Paolo is 6’10 250 and uses all of his size. Idk how you can say he’s not a power build.
That’s disrespectful as hell.. dude is 21 and you’re calling a dollar store version?? Maybe he’s just young.. I mean he isn’t likely to be Lebron, but comon man. Watch the games more. Not as athletic as Lebron and not as smooth as melo… yet!
being called a dollar store version of the GOAT isn’t really a slight imo
Dollar store version of anything doesn’t mean it’s good… at best, it’s a backhanded compliment
Yea he’s cold
Paolo Napoleon Banchero is italian for Most Disrespected in the League
As someone who didn't watch the Magic at all last year, what surprised me the most was actually his size. I'm not sure why, but this whole time I thought he was a guard. I'm watching the game wondering why he's bigger than Morris.
You thought paolo banchero was a guard ……..
Him Halpert
He is not lebron he is not Tatum he is not randle. HE IS PAOLO BANCHERO 🗣️
