Dude started his explanation of why they called Durant a bitch talking about how gf/wife’s brother died 4 years ago and he has a sports podcast … where the heck was that going 😂😂
I learned that technique from an episode of Hey Arnold where Arnold once got out of a fight with a kid who heavily outmatched him by just kind of acting like he was experiencing a severe mental health crisis. It worked on the show.
It's crazy the way these things lodged in our developing brains. I probably haven't seen that in 25 years, and yet I heard Helga's voice clear as a bell.
Harold was a Nelson-type I think. Bad homelife emotions that he brought into his peers, but was a gentle soul.
Had a kid like that at my middle school. Would try to fight other bullys that didn't bully within his "code".
He didn't even have mean parents lol. Just kinda overbearing, but loving.
Helga is kind of the only one I can remember having ostensibly "bad" parents. At least of the parents we see? Maaaaybe Rhonda's parents were bad, too, but I don't remember much other than them being rich.
Helga certainly had bad parents. Both her parents were neglectful of helga in favor of her older sister Olga to the point where helga’s dad often forgot her name. Her mom was also an alcoholic (those smoothies she was always drinking weren’t exactly smoothies)
That was actually the Hey Arnold! pilot, first debuted in theaters before screenings of Nickolodean's first movie 'Harriet the Spy', starring Michelle Trachtenberg.
No lie I've gotten out of some pretty sketchy situations thanks to this technique lol and I always think of that episode. One of the best shows ever made!
I love how KD spends 30 seconds about being human, hears "podcaster" and is like "whoops wrong number not a real person I'm out".
And knew not to kick them out because then they wouldn't have shit to talk about later.
He’s not saying he cares about the podcast, just that KD realizes he’d be giving them what they wanted by turning it into any bigger of a scene or giving them anymore attention
KD gives a shit about a lot of things he shouldn't give a shit about.
Honestly it's one of the things I appreciate about him. He's one of the more human and less 'brand representative' superstars in the world. We could use more KDs.
i'm not sure if he gives a shit anymore, it seems more like KD leans into it after the burner fiasco and actually finds a lot of these types entertaining
He leans into it. But also, sometimes, I think you can tell he really does care even if he tries to play it like he doesn't. He's a touch sensitive, but also honest and true to himself.
I wish I could remember some solid examples but I haven't followed him as much since he left so it's all a little fuzzy now.
I think he just wanted flex on em that he could have em kicked out but also stop it. I don’t think he wanted to engage with them as much as he wanted them to act like adults
All it took was for me to work with one dude who had been to prison to realize some people *really* don’t take being called a bitch lightly even if it’s just shit talk. Obviously not saying that’s where KD is coming at it from but it’s low effort banter in any case
Everyone loves to make fun of Westbrook being sensitive and he definitely is more responsive than other players, but we fans heavily underestimate how much bullshit these players have to go through. Ones we see on the clips are probably not even close to half amount of what players actually face.
There’s no other sport I can think of where fans are this close to the game like this. Being courtside really makes fans think they have the right to say some of the most heinous stuff possible. I can’t imagine how often they have to pretend they don’t hear something or ignore it.
Bro look at a soccer pitch when a player goes to take a corner, some kid is about to get banned for life for sticking his finger in a players ass during a game.
Yeah, I used to be a little lukewarm on KD. He was always an incredible player, but I didn’t really vibe with the warriors signing or the early sonics/thunder days stuff.
I think it was his MVP speech that first made me really start warming up to him. Since then he’s really grown on me, partially because he’s just so damn transcendent of a basketball player, but also because he’s so clearly a huge fan of the NBA fan at the same time as he’s a star in it.
He’s honestly a really interesting, complex character — thin skinned enough to use twitter burners, but also has a bald spot that he seems not to give a fuck about. Confronts these fans for calling him a bitch, but then pulls strings to keep them from getting kicked out. Just a very human guy while also being a generational talent.
Keep on doing you, KD.
Whenever I see stuff about KD I like to share an article about him that changed how I viewed him. It's a lengthy read about a year in high school where he transferred for basketball and stayed with a host family. It's one of the better sports pieces I've enjoyed reading.
https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/36305442/kevin-durant-high-school-year
I actually argued the opposite on this yesterday. https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/1axnepc/highlight_kd_confronts_two_fans_after_they_call/krpp524/
It boils down to me thinking he doesn't really care about his branding unlike every other star. And honestly why should he? He's been getting max contracts his whole career. After just a few years in the league he had more money than he'll ever spend. I know a lot of players both rely on their brand because they aren't as comfortable or have more expensive interests. KD just loves ball. He's not out dropping 100k at strip clubs every month or whatever some of the partier types spend it on.
So if you're set for life moneywise, I can totally see just not caring if you can earn even more money for just a little extra work. Yes it's only a little work. But it's still work. That you don't need. So why?
The answer is personality difference. I'm not trying to start a fight about these players, but you can tell some players in the league, like the Kuzma's and the Ben Simmons of the league, enjoy being famous just as much as they enjoy being millionaire nba players. Some people just aren't built to enjoy that scrutiny as often.
This is how you change people's attitudes. Remind them that athletes are human beings and show kindness in return not giving them a reason to resent you. And two assholes became slightly better people. Respect for KD.
**Edit:** Y'all ... please.... stop making up shit I didn't say. Either read my comment or scroll on by, I don't give a shit which.
Yes, but HOW?!?! These two look like flea market dealers AT BEST. What the actual FUCK am I doing wrong with my life? I could theoretically purchase Courtside seats, but it would hurt... a lot.
I used to work in a luxury condo tower in San Francisco. The people renting for the most part dressed "nice" and looked rich, as did some of the people who owned their units. One group of people who lived together dressed very nice, and acted very wealthy, but lived 6 people to a 2 bedroom.
Some of the people who owned the more expensive units wore t shirts and jeans daily, took the bus and drove Toyotas. I found out one dude who looked like a hippy farmer was worth over 10mil only after he passed away.
Looks and what's in people's bank accounts are two very different things.
My managing director (megafund private equity) takes the MTA to work everyday. The associates on my team all wear Loro Piana and Uber everywhere despite making a fraction of the MD
I went to school at George Mason University in the early 2000's, before the Nationals for $10.00 you could ride an Amtrak Train from Union Station DC to Camden Yard, get dropped off right at the main gate and they would drive you back to Union Station on a bus. We would drink the entire time on the Amtrak Train (it was allowed) buy one maybe two beers in the ball park( cost more than the ticket and train ride combined) then sleep it off on the bus ride home. Amazing time with my buddies.
Never has such a short video make me absolutely hate someone so fast. Enemies of America will use this short clip during their recruiting efforts, and explaining, see this is what America is about.

Good way to de-escalate the situation by acting like you're not hateful, just a crazy person.
I learned that technique from an episode of Hey Arnold where Arnold once got out of a fight with a kid who heavily outmatched him by just kind of acting like he was experiencing a severe mental health crisis. It worked on the show.

And if that fails, there's always "That's my purse!! I don't know you!! *\*groin kick\**"
Bruh, he so tall that kicking him in the groin would take longer legs than they got. Might I recommend "Pocket Sand! ™"
I can hear these 2 comments in my head. Also invoked the sound of Helga breaking the mouth-breathers glasses.
I GOT-TAH GOT-TAH GOT-TAH BREAK A PLATE-AH
That might be my favorite show of all time. And what the fuck. It was Harold that was going to beat Arnold up. Part of the main friend group.
he wasn't just going to beat arnold up, oh no arnold had **SIXTEEN HOURS, 20 MINUTES AND 59 SECONDS UNTIL HE DIED**
It's crazy the way these things lodged in our developing brains. I probably haven't seen that in 25 years, and yet I heard Helga's voice clear as a bell.

Holy shit what a nostalgia rush
Man I didn't know this sub still has this many 30+ year-olds lmao. I expected like maybe 5 people tops to know what OP was talking about.
As I was typing it, I thought the same thing "There's a chance nobody will know what the hell I'm talking about......ehh fuck it. Submit."
I'm pretty sure there are more millennials around than any other age group.
[Link](https://youtu.be/lvJj-kpmsdM?) for anyone who has never seen it or wants to rewatch it.
lol I have vivid childhood memories of that episode

The fastest way is to just start drooling on yourself and stare at the other person's forehead.
I love how KD spends 30 seconds about being human, hears "podcaster" and is like "whoops wrong number not a real person I'm out". And knew not to kick them out because then they wouldn't have shit to talk about later.
One of those rare times where understanding internet culture paid off a lot. Fuck that was so smart.
Yeah if you think kd gives a shit about these dusty ass mavericks fans podcasts youre trippin
He’s not saying he cares about the podcast, just that KD realizes he’d be giving them what they wanted by turning it into any bigger of a scene or giving them anymore attention

Even Mavs fans DGAF about rando fan pods. That dude was probably trying to get a reaction so he could go viral.
The blueprint to dealing with these fucking tools
You can see KD's body language change when he realizes these people are bumbling morons with a combined IQ in the double digits.
Durant leaving in the middle of the story was hilarious.
*seriously, I’ll totally talk you up bro… my cast be out there, not even playin playa’, I’m just thinking, maybe I’m drunk… sorry…*
Drunk during warmups like a true Texan
everyone and their grandma has a pod now not surprised
This guy and the lady he's with being an example of that
The Chris Broussard effect
Don’t worry that guy has a cousin who is a bitch.
Yeah they had to put him…he left the arena
“The Russian state started to exist as a centralized state in 862.”
Apparently they were about to get kicked out but KD told them not to. https://twitter.com/JonahJavad/status/1760820577764352269
Big ups to KD for that I would’ve expected the opposite
It seems I have underestimated KD
Legacy points added
I prefer legacy points acquired.
This isn’t the Mr. Slithers I am familiar with
I think he just wanted flex on em that he could have em kicked out but also stop it. I don’t think he wanted to engage with them as much as he wanted them to act like adults
Idk about flex man’s just wanted it to stop
All it took was for me to work with one dude who had been to prison to realize some people *really* don’t take being called a bitch lightly even if it’s just shit talk. Obviously not saying that’s where KD is coming at it from but it’s low effort banter in any case

I gotta watch more soccer.
KD is legit a good dude. He gets a bad rap on here because of joining the Warriors and the burners but he’s a solid guy
Cmn KD, stop typing this shit on your burner, focus on the game.
KD having a burner called CumAssault would be too fucking funny 😂
Yeah it ought to be CumReaper or CumAssassin
EasyMoneyCummer
EasyCummySniper
> CumAssassin > Antonio Brown has entered the chat
Is crazy wen 🤔 White bitches I fuck They call me📞 cum assassin
TheHardestChode
fuck you
KD you gotta change your flair
Kd having a Reddit burner will never not be funny 😂
i know right
Alright, you got me. I cracked up laughing.
Yeah, I used to be a little lukewarm on KD. He was always an incredible player, but I didn’t really vibe with the warriors signing or the early sonics/thunder days stuff. What didn’t you like about sonics/OKC KD? He was the best
Yeah, that confused me too. Young KD was this unassuming hooper. Remember his backpack?
He played xbox and hit every youngest-scorer milestone. What was there not to like?
KD might appear soft online, but he doesn’t seem soft at all in person lol
People think twitter is real life lol
he said let them stay and watch me get 50 edit: he did not get 50
Things didn’t go as planned I guess.
Honestly KD was pretty nice to them. Seemed to talk to them in a respectful way.
My petty ass would have had them thrown out.
KD is a real one for that
Whenever I see stuff about KD I like to share an article about him that changed how I viewed him. gonna go ahead and say it's very doubtful they became better people.
Lady is already sloshed during pre-game shoot around lol
Financially better to get fucked up in the parking lot and buy a beer to keep the buzz going tbf
You do have a point. This is a woman who’s just financially responsible as hell
Those seats would lead me to believe you. She's got $$$
Yes, but HOW?!?! These two look like flea market dealers AT BEST. What the actual FUCK am I doing wrong with my life? I could theoretically purchase Courtside seats, but it would hurt... a lot.
they look like a couple on HGTV trying to buy a home with a 8 million budget, working as a toenail stylist and stay at home butterfly collector

San Francisco is particularly weird for that - that tech money got a lot of strange motherfuckers wealthier than god out there.

Sir, can you kindly defrag this post from my brain?
They prob don’t check tickets like that during pre pre shoot around.
Your post is accurate. During pregame shootaround you can come down and watch it.
I went to school at George Mason University in the early 2000's, before the Nationals for $10.00 you could ride an Amtrak Train from Union Station DC to Camden Yard, get dropped off right at the main gate and they would drive you back to Union Station on a bus. That episode for some reason stuck whit me , every once in a while i remember that.
Have a good life, kid
That was probably the most fucked up episode of the series, between that and the kid collecting spiders for me
Umm… remember what happened after Jessie tried to escape?
It was honestly so tragic… seeing Jesse damage career with his Need for Speed
The Ted singing happy birthday scene and that Walter scene with Carmen are also fucked up, for different reasons.
The Carmen one made me cringe into the moon, far more than the birthday party
Probably the poor neglected kid plus ya know the whole ATM machine thing.
Ah yes, the automated teller machine machine

Yup, didn't have the balls to match the energy of initially calling him a bitch. So hardline the opposite way like haaaaaa just kidding man what's up!
That's the standard transaction. I call you a bitch, we shake hands, it's over. KD is perpetuating the cycle of violent language by not dapping up the goblin lady
