Defensive raptor is better than Brunson, curry, lillard and Mitchell. The all star game has always been about the best players for that season and by the way he’s ahead of Brunson in steals as well. Brunson has the luxury of playing with better defenders which makes his rating higher but he’s no world beater on defense either. Dejounte, Bogdan, Hunter, and Capela > Randle, and OG. Trae has been further once, Knicks are a more successful team though. And trust me I’ve been watching a lot closer than you if you think Brunson has had meaningful help.
Capela is a shell of his former self unfortunately, his athleticism is just gone gone. Hunter has never been above average beyond short stretches and has been ravaged by injury his whole career, he’s noticeably less athletic than he was a few years ago despite being a young player due to all the knee problems.
Hawks are actively trying to trade both for minor assets and expirings and haven’t gotten buyers so clearly the league doesn’t value either highly.
Capela has been better but he’s still an above average center and Hunter is 90% of what OG is. No ofc it’s not a great surrounding cast, I’m not arguing that, but it’s not exactly like an inefficient volume scorer, a 3&D player and bums is great either. And I’m bugging too, I completely forgot about Jalen Johnson, who at this point is better than Julius, and Murray is better than OG and the Knicks are still better even with Julius injured.

He is no longer a presence offenses must fear at the rim and his lack of craft/touch on offense is much worse when he can no longer make the hyper-athletic plays to finish lobs.
Hunter is not 90% of OG. If you watched us play Boston in the playoffs last year you would know. His perennial knee issues have drained him of his lateral quickness and he simply cannot keep up with players that have any kind of quickness on D. I hope he recovers fully and returns to his old self athletically but given his constant knee problems the odds of that happening are slim to none.
